Horribly crowded. No social distance. No air flow. Six employees have covid and some were not wearing masks. Filthy.

Ask the Community - US Post Office

Do they cost money when you try to return something?

Of course it does! Unless the seller gave you a pre-packaged label you have to pay by the weight. 13 oz or less can go first class mail (much cheaper) and includes tracking so don't do priority mail as they always try to push.

Last Thursday I went in with an express envelope a friend had already provided postage for. My intent was to just drop it off for mail pick up. My friend's post office in SoCal used international postage and this caused quite an upset to Jessica. Jessica check the amount was correct but was just unsure. I told her I was willing to put it another envelope and pay the higher postal annex cost (nearly double the postage on the envelope). She insisted she wanted to check with USPS that would pick up and would call me. Her intensity around it triggered a customer behind me to say "couldn't she just take it to the post office." I told him I enjoy the convenience of this Postal Annex. She did call me later and was unsure. By then I had spoken with my friend and explained to Jessica that the post office placed the postage. She decided it would be ok and would send it out. This was priority mail and by Monday my friends post office had not received it. I called the annex to inquire if they MIGHT have scanned. A different employee said no but she would check with her driver on Wed as he did scan it. On Tuesday, I get an unsolicited, agitated call from Jessica saying she had a note, basically super pissy at me that no one scanned it, why would they, etc. I was like hey "I just called to see if you might have scanned it since I told you it needed to be there next day. I wish I had just put it a new envelope and paid the $50. But you talked me out of doing that." She began to deny that she had done so and continued her intensity over the scanning and international stamps. So I ended the call and this ends my years of use and adoration for this small, local business.

Anyway, I have found myself coming to this location to drop off some online sales that the buyer chose twice in the same week. The store is located in the corner of the Target shopping center kind of by itself. This was formerly Kinkos way back when but come to find out that Fedex bought them so they still offer printing services that Kinkos once did. They also have a small selection of your basic office supplies at the highest price possible so you are paying for convenience. Both times I went in, all of the employees were professional, purposeful and helpful. No one was standing around doing nothing or socializing with one another. When I walked in, I was greeted and helped along with friendly chatter but not intrusive, bothersome or even patronizing. It was genuine. It Seems small but so rare these days. I left feeling good about my quick visit and will return soon I am sure! BTW, I have visited two other FedEx locations and did not get the same service so I must credit the management here.

The projected pickup time was 7pm, but I know it never actually takes that long for them to print the orders....especially when it's only 2 pages. I still hadn't gotten a confirmation email by 6pm, so I decided to just get in my car to go pick it up. Once I got there, I was informed that the website system had been either losing or grossly delaying the print order submissions all day, and my 54-cent order hadn't been received. Luckily, there were 2 very helpful employees that said, "Just email it to us and we'll print it." It took me some hassle to figure out how to do all that from my phone (I feel so Boomer trying to do ANYTHING on my phone), but luckily, I figured out how to send them what I needed and as promised, they printed it out for me and sent me on my way. The delay from the website is a huge pain in the a**, but I'm thankful for caring employees who helped me and got my order printed. Thank you!!

I actually only came by to return an item that was purchased through Amazon. Walking in brought some nostalgia - big space, a lot of items and a sparse amount of customers. Many were at the printing section. I was also rather confused they were selling a lot of other items that weren't office related (ie: food and miscellaneous items). As for my Amazon return - There were two people ahead of me, both brought a ton of items...I didn't realize this was a thing...to buy a ton of stuff through Amazon only to return it but that's another topic altogether. The one worker did his best to get through all the customers items - by the time it was my turn, at least 4-5 people were behind me. He processed everything quickly for me so that was greatly appreciated - and within a few minutes everything showed up on my end. Overall, good experience. Thanks!

I visited the Staples at 6770 Stanford Ranch Rd, Roseville, CA on 8/29 around 2 PM, and the experience was so shockingly bad that it cost this store -- and likely the company -- a significant purchase opportunity. I came in not only to complete two returns (a Happy Return and an Amazon return) but also to evaluate Staples as a potential vendor for a large bulk order of equipment and supplies for multiple offices. I never even made it to the shopping portion of my visit because the customer service was that hostile. The store layout was confusing and the signage contradictory, so I approached the balloon desk for help. The female associate dismissed me, pointed vaguely toward the Amazon lockers, and when I said I was confused, she condescendingly told me to "use my eyes" and marched slowly while pointing at arrows on the floor as if I were incapable of understanding basic directions. When I told her she was being rude, she replied, "I'm autistic," as though that excused her behavior. It does not. At the register, things escalated. Before even greeting me, Rhett loudly said, "We have to deal with customers' dumb questions all day!" He repeatedly talked down to me, pointed in my face, and ultimately yelled, "If you don't like the way we do things and think we're rude, pack up your returns and get out!" He shoved an Amazon contact card at me, clearly trying to avoid doing Amazon returns altogether. He also gave me incorrect instructions about where to complete my Happy Return -- proving the confusion I originally asked about was valid. As I walked to the correct area, he used the store communication system to portray himself as the victim, prompting another associate to make passive‑aggressive comments about "rude customers" within earshot of me and the only other shopper in the store. The Happy Returns associate then watched me stand in line without assisting me for an extended period, despite the store being nearly empty. This location is being run by employees who are openly hostile, dismissive, and unprofessional. Their behavior didn't just ruin a simple return -- it directly cost Staples a substantial business purchase I was prepared to make. I will not be returning, and I will strongly advise my firm to avoid Staples entirely.
