Mailed out like 200 thank you cards for my wedding. One envelope did not have a stamp on it so it was mailed back to me. Okay no worries,slapped a stamp on it problem solved right!? Wrong!! It was mailed back to me with a big old stamp over my postage making it void? WTF? Okay no worries, they probobly thought it was re-used stamp from the previous denial, took it to post office paid for another stamp and considered it a donation to Uncle Sam. People who are "dropping off" boxes go to the counter and still get "a quick question" answered by the P.O. clerks even when there's a line of 4+ people waiting to get helped. Kindness goes both ways...every time I've interacted with Dan (about five times now) he had been stern yet polite and helpful. Today he was very nice to my mother. This happened to my wife and mother-in-law Today Tuesday April 5th around 4:25pm at 4401 Gateway Park Blvd St.130 Sacramento CA my mother and I went to the Post office to send a package. While we were in the line, one of the front workers (Jes) demanded yelling that someone should close the door because it was 4:30pm and they were already closed, so the last person in the line closed the door. Then the same worker told to the last person "We are already closed, I am not going to take your package, close the door and get out, I am not taking nobody else" everyone got really surprised. 2 minutes later she yelled again to the last person to leave the place because they we're "working all day and want to go home" then I told her that she was giving a really bad customer service to everyone there. Then she replied that if I didn't have my package ready they wouldn't take my too! When I was my turn the other person took my package and she refused to sell me a tape, because it was already 4:30pm and went inside and left me standing there. After like 5 minutes she came back saying that I didn't put the correct Zip Code. I noticed that the other worker didn't want to take my package neither. But I insisted that she should take my package because I was there before they had closed. So she did; my mother paid the package and the tape and we started leaving but we noticed that the first door was locked and we asked the first worker Jes how can we leave? And she replied"I told you were closed" then she came to open the door for us and for one more person that was inside and right after we passed the door she pushed my mother in her right shoulder! Immediately I asked her "did you just touch my mom?" And she said " She is in my way" extremely mad. We got very scared and told her that was totally innecesary and violent!! And that we will report to a supervisor and that we wanted to call the police and she answered "do whatever you want" Then in the car my mom who is 64 years old started to cry feeling so frightened. I decided not to call the police at the moment because I preferred to leave immediately and assist my mother. Hopefully you can review the cameras so it can show exactly how it happened. read more

10/16/2019 update: I delivered something out on 10/7/2019 to my sister who lives overseas/military and the line wasn't long and had a pleasant interaction with the guy who helped me (usually only 2 employees working behind the counter) although he pointed out that I wasn't allowed to have my dog inside because a dog last week bit someone (keep in mind, my less than 10 pound bichon was in my arms half a sleep and could never bite anyone, but maybe I'm being bias?). Come 10/9/19, I look at the tracking and it says it was delivered to sacramento. WTF?! I tried calling this location but NO ONE EVER PICKS UP THE PHONE! So, I call the 1-800 customer service line. They said my package was scanned incorrectly and that it would be delivered to my sister by 10/15/2019 after the holiday with no issues. An hour later, I get a call from another rep from the customer service line stating my package was actually returned back to the post office and they werent sure why. GRRR. So I tried to call this location again and of course, no answer. I'm a busy person so it wasn't until today when I was able to physically go back to this location to get my package back. The lady today helped me (younger Indian lady?) looks in her computer and tells me the package is not with them, but at their Royal Oaks location. I ask her if she is sure because I really don't want to drive out there for nothing. She says it's for sure there. Before I leave I ask about why they never answer their phone. The guy who was also there (older bigger Mexican man?) answers for her and says, "we are always up here working so no one can answer it." How is this even acceptable for a business to not answer at all times during work hours?!?! I leave and call the Royal Oaks location.... NO ANSWER as well. An hour later, I try again and finally someone answers. When I ask about my package, they say it was incorrectly delivered to the Franchise Tax Board. WWWTTTFFF!! First off, for all the employees who have "helped" me in tracking my package, do they not see the same info on their computer?! Every employee I have spoken to has now given me three different information regarding my package and at this point, I am beyond frustrated! I am calling Consumer Affairs first thing tomorrow because this is not okay. read more

This place would have been 1 star if it wasn't for the guy with glasses working today. The lady named JAS is absolutely horrible. I stood in line and she was so incredibly rude to everyone in front of me I was hoping I wouldn't have to interact with her. I brought a box up there and she was breathing loudly when she saw I hadn't taped it. I told her I'd buy the $3 tape, no big deal. Long story short, they must have two different people doing the hiring because the guy with glasses today was incredibly nice and helpful. He was listening to everyone who he talked to and was genuinely trying to help. JAS wouldn't even make eye contact and was constantly breathing loudly when people didn't know what they were doing. read more

I searched Yelp for a USPS office near me and this one was the closest. Couldn't help but notice the poor reviews of Dan's customer service. When I got there and was greeted unenthusiastically with a "yes ma'am." by a stern looking man behind the counter, I almost immediately knew who it was, haha. Looked at his name tag and sure enough, it was Dan. He was very short and made no attempt at conversation/small talk. Didn't smile. No emotion whatsoever. I get that some people enjoy their jobs more than others, but it is kind of sad when you encounter someone that seems to hate their job so much they can't even attempt to reciprocate a kind demeanor from a customer that's just dropping off prepaid postage packages and asking for a receipt. Came in at lunchtime on a weekday with a bubble mailer I needed to send internationally. No line, the clerk provided me with the customs form I needed to fill out, and rang me up for first-class package postage by weight. Unfortunately scan event/tracking information is only available to Canada at this time. International mail can be tracked only if it's sent Express (not Priority). Very nice, clean post office, fairly new (a few years old maybe?). MUCH better experience than at the Royal Oaks branch. The Davis branch is also old but still quite popular/busy since it is a small town. I've used AIM Mail Centers a few times since it's closer to home, but they do charge extra compared to going straight to USPS. I will return. read more

I first tried to have my brother pick it up, didn't work. Didn't work. Tried to have it forwarded to my new address. They were going to charge my debit card, which I do not have at the moment. Last hope: I requested redelivery attempt for 12/05 with the instruction to leave it at the doorsteps. No redelivery was made. It is now 12/07, and my tracking is stuck at "redelivery scheduled". I went to this post office two on two different occasions. The first time I went during the week around 2pm, only 1 person in line. They did not have a decent selection of the different sized priority boxes to use so I had to shove everything into a tiny flat rate, I asked for tape and the clerk said I could not use it and handed me some priority stickers to tape the box. How annoying! My second visit was worse! I went during lunch time during the week and there were15 people ahead of me and ONE CLERK behind the counter. It took me a good 55 minutes standing in line! I thought this was a great location to set up a post office box. In fact, it was. Until they bluntly changed the hours you can access your damn box! IT USE TO BE 24 HOURS. But nooooo. Not anymore. Now it's only until 5:00pm. Who's stupid idea was this? What's the point of paying for a box if I can't access my mail at times that are convenient for me? I went To ship an item. I went to where the flat rate boxes are located and they didn't have the long large flat rate box. So I Waited in line and then I asked the Indian lady if they have any of that large flat rate boxes. She said with an attitude "they're back there on the bottom" and I told her they're not. This must be the worst post office in the whole area--and that's saying a lot. The shapeless, emotionless masses that "work" here could not give two fucks about you or your time or anything else, really. The service level here is absolutely atrocious. Don't think you're going to avoid the employees by using the kiosk, either--because this place doesn't have one. Just save yourself A LOT of time and aggravation and head on down to the postal counter at Raley's, instead. There you will be treated with like a human being, with urgency, and won't pay anything extra. And here's a CRAZY concept: If a line forms they actually bring in MORE employees to assist their customers instead of sending most of the existing ones to break or lunch! WOW! read more

I don't mind going here at all. It's convenient, clean, and they do their job and get my mail to where it needs to go. Ahh you guys complaining if someone doesn't treat you like a king/queen, I'd probably be a little grumpy towards u folks too ;-). I think grumpy people are actually pretty nice if u can get past the attitude plus they add character, as long as u don't poke the bear ;-). Seriously, whenever I've gone in and someone's grumpy if u respond back with some reasonable kindness/calmness and don't take it personal, the person is generally nice in the end, not always. But really, my only goal going in isn't to find a new beer drinking partner, and I'm not worried they're going to spit in my soup; I just need to send something or get stamps.
