THEY STOLE MY PACKAGES, never provided a receipt or scan my items properly into USPS systems. Only 2/8 packages I drop off ever updated and the rest are unaccounted for.. I called the store the USPS was in and they were incredibly rude and not helpful and I called usps and got an automated response and cannot reach the store itself. I'm extremely concerned as I trusted USPS to ship 800+ dollars of clothing in these packages and now they are STOLENNN. Carmel Valley has 55,000 people and it is still growing. We have this mini-part time post office at the Hallmark card shop. To compare, Del Mar has 4,000 and Solana Beach 11,000 and they both have wonderful post offices, and both cities are not growing. Did we do something wrong ? Staff at the mini-post office are generally pretty good, but they suffer from too many customers. We need a full sized PO that is open on Saturday and with 3 clerks. Christmas is a nightmare at that PO. read more

Interesting post-office, first time in one that is located inside of a Hallmark store! Well, at least it was convenient in the location and time when I needed to ship something pretty urgently. Needless to say, this is the most entertaining post office you can go to as if there is a long line, you can always spend some time browsing all the cute stuff from the store. Convenient location, plenty of parking, and I love that it is inside a Hallmark (I love Hallmark!). I rly wish that they had a self-service machine because the lines can get long (like any post office). I'd go here much more often if they had a machine! I will say the staff is not friendly or nice lol. It's a first for me to find this postal stop tucked in the back end of a Hallmark store. Needless to say, here's my convoluted logic for the four stars: First Star: near home and convenience makes Min a happy boy Second Star: nestled behind a Hallmark gift shop. Again, a strange one this is but novel nevertheless. Almost as if the USPS decided to make things fun for the Carmel Valley residents by creating find-the-post-office game. Third Star: It's a Hallmark store! Thought these were extinct and followed the retail retirement home like Radio Shack and Circuit City. Fourth Star: Sometimes, the Hallmark store assistants greet you. Even though you're merely passing through their living room to get to the neighbor's house. Usually going to the post office sucks because it's only open during your normal working hours. Then it's busy when you go during work because everyone goes during their lunch time. Also many of the employees aren't that friendly. With that said.. my experience at this location today was none of the above! This post office is very well hidden- it's in the back of the Hallmark store so it wasn't even busy when I went which was during lunch time. Also the customer service there was great! I had to get a money order and priority mail my passport for renewal and I thought I knew what I was doing.. I was wrong. Luz, an employee, was super nice and helpful in assisting getting my act together haha.. in order for me to mail out the proper documentation and process.. she didn't even have to help me, but she was proactive and insisted. I was in and out of there within 15 minutes. Such a good experience especially having to leave work too get this done. Someone give Luz a raise! read more

Located in the back of the Hallmark store. Worst services I have ever gotten. Very unprofessional and rude. I have given them multiple chances and every time I leave, I leave upset. They do not put priority shipping labels next to the boxes. So you have to wait in line to get the slip from the post worker. Then get out of line to fill it out because they do not even give you a min to fill out the info even after you waited in line. Apparently there is a new rule which is posted on the back wall in the smallest print, that using the priority tape for the priority box that you purchased and the whole reason the priority tape is there, you lose the insurance that comes with the priority shipping deal. I attached a photo of where this new rule is written. I have not seen this in any other post office. I would rather drive 20 mins to the next post office than deal with this again. Same rude service over and over. Not just me but everyone I watch being served. Just a heads up because it's not worth the hassle. read more

OMG it is absolutely painful coming in here, really?! I guess I just don't really get why everyone is so grumpy when they go to the post office. Maybe it is the long lines, or slow service, or archaic process and check-out system, or the myriad of shipping options. Happy with the service! The staff was very helping to helping me choose the packaging for my passport renewal. I was going to send it in a manila envelope until she saw what I was sending, and advised me that passport centers are particular in how they want it. She was patient as I was filling out the address on the package. A+ Service! read more

I came here in a rush to mail an application and when I got there I saw the sign marquee but no store. I saw a dance studio and a Hallmark and a mailbox. I was so confused and thought that perhaps it closed? Come to find out it was in the back of a Hallmark store, based on the yelp review. I had to rush off to the del mar location and luckily made it on time. I would recommend better signs for this post office, it is very confusing for someone who doesn't live in the area! read more

Slow, inefficient, and most of the time there is a long line-employees never look up to acknowledge this and there is no desire to move things along. As dysfunctional as any government agency - job security is a given and not tied to performance or skill, so you can be as unproductive as you'd like with no repercussions. This post office is hidden away at the back of the hallmark store so unless you know it's there it's not easy to find. There is often a long line and the people behind the counter always seem stressed and are not terribly helpful. But it's in a very convenient location if you need to quickly drop off a package cause you can just leave it in the big collection bin. read more

This is my go-to post office. It's interesting that hat they are located in the back of a Hallmark store. I pray the lines are short and very time I go in. No matter what I'm amused during that time with all things in the store, time passes quickly. Th personal are friendly and go their best to get you through quickly. Went into return some items. Two women behind the counter glanced up, watched me approach the counter, made eye contact while I waited to be helped (assuming they must be busy) & did not greet me (or the other customer there) until I greeted them after standing there a few moments. I assumed they must be busy, so I greeted one woman & said that I needed to return these items. She told me I needed to purchase a box and pointed to the wall. I found the box I needed & paid for it at the front of the hallmark store. I came back & asked for tape to close the box. She then tells me I also need to purchase tape, again pointing to the wall. I've never been to a post office that didn't even have packing tape to close a box, nevermind the customer service & friendliness of a rock. Completely unhelpful & not even polite. read more

This is a terrible excuse for a post office. I am always biased to the usps being that my parent has been employed by them for over 20 years, as a mail handler. The people that work in the front and deal with customers should be the "face" of the company therefore providing excellent customer service. I know that my parent, as a mail handler, gives their 100% so why should the cashiers be any different? I went to send off a few candies needed for a party to my family in Louisiana. The woman behind the desk explains to me, in mocking tone, that they do not offer packaging I respond asking where I can get a box and will gladly package my items- she points me in the direction. I find a box that fits what I need, being that I don't carry around tape with me- I stupidly assume that a post office will have tape, after getting in line a second time am addressed with the news that they do not have tape behind the counter. If you plan to send something from this location, I suggest you don't, be sure you have everything ready to go because they will not assist you with anything. read more

So no one has a review here.... And it makes it confusing from the signage on the outside of the building as it looks like the Post Office has moved! GO INSIDE HALLMARK!! There should be a sign on the door or saying Post Office is inside Hallmark. It's not intuitive at all. It's a great idea though as you can buy something and ship immediately!! Never have an issue with the services here! Don't know why anyone would complain about the post office not providing tape! You're responsible for packing your own packages, the post office is not there to provide boxes nor tape for your convenience! People need to stop acting so entitled! read more
