This UPS store is fantastic! I've rented my mailbox from 2 other UPS stores in the past and by far this one is the best! The staff is friendly and courteous and always go the extra mile for their customers. When I get a package that is perishable (ie flowers or a food delivery) I always get a call from a team member to let me know to come in and pick it up! That is amazing service! The mood in the store is always upbeat, and I always look forward to going in there. When I send a package they are very helpful in helping me decide which method to ship to make it cost effective for me while still getting my package delivered on time. Plus they have a notary on site so I can easily get things notarized. I especially like Ken, Jeff, Cleo, and Justin. But all of them are great. Good job management! read more

The guy who runs this store along with another off Del Mar heights is unreasonable and unresponsive. I purchased a box there after another location shut down without notice. After trying to forward my mail and figuring out that the address made is difficult to do so(2 days later) I returned, explained the situation and was told to reach out to the owner as there was nothing the staff could do. 2.5 months and 4 visits later requesting a call and still nothing! read more

This location is mismanaged. The employees seem VERY miserable. The older woman didn't even look at me during the transaction. People came in asking about their P.O. Box access and they opened the Po box for the teenager, no true verification of ownership. Before you think she maybe knew the kid, she asked him if he was the kid of a specific woman. The boy said yes. That's it. I jokingly said,"No, I'm her son not him." She didn't get the implication that maybe just asking a stranger is not a full proof way of ensuring YOU ARE LEGALLY COMPLIANT. We stopped by last month, and the employees were going through a box for someone whose Po box expired. I know because that was their stage whisper conversation. They were behind the mailboxes but we could hear everything perfectly. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED! read more

I came here looking to mail my passport application to Canada using a mail courier (Fedex, UPS), but they informed me that it would make more sense for me to take my mail to USPS since they would better be able to track internationally. I appreciated their feedback and their input and am glad they directed me to the right place. I've come here a couple other times to send returns back to Amazon, and they were also fine. Never had any issues with them being rude. Completely satisfactory when I came here - one time a young woman and young man, another time a young man (off the top of my memory). I have used the Del Mar UPS Store location for years and highly recommend them for your shipping. This can be a busy store during the holidays, but they are extremely organized and well-staffed. The store has great employee retention, which means management is doing things right. I find the staff to be friendly and helpful. I usually come here to drop packages off and ship larger items from time to time. The line is usually long. The staff is decent but nothing special. Deducted stars as sign is on the door regularly closed for lunch. Frustrating when you stop by a business to have to come back an hour later. read more

The UPS Store - Lovely! - Shipping Centers Near Me - San Diego, California

This is not my "go-to" place for my mailing needs, but I was close by and decided to pick up a stamped envelope to mail a letter. The Good: for Amazon returns, they make it pretty easy. Just come in, show them the bar code on your phone and they generally take care of the rest without much if any difficulty. The Bad: Everything else; I came in for an envelope and stamp but they were out of letter size envelopes. I was told I could get a larger envelope but they would only charge the amount of a letter envelope. I said that was fine but wanted to know how much the postage would be. I was told they would have to weigh the envelope to which I replied that it would in fact be more expensive. Then I was told, "no" it would be the same price but because of the larger sized envelope, they have to weigh it to see if it needs more postage than a traditional letter sized envelope. Again, I repeated this would cost more than a regular envelope. To which, the person told me "no" but they need to weigh and see if it needs more postage than a regular envelope! I felt like I was in the Abbott & Costello "Who's on First" routine! She didn't seem to want to acknowledge it was going to cost more than a traditional sized envelope. She seemed exasperated, rolled her eyes and began saying something but quietly so I couldn't quite make out what she was saying. Decided it wasn't worth discussing and went to Postal Annex where they are at the very least, friendly. That is the other problem with this UPS store... terrible customer service. They will do their job, but they do it with such an attitude and treat customers with such disdain. Once I came here with a box full of styrofoam peanut stuffing to see if they would take so I didn't have to throw out, but they said it was against the store policy. Again, no problems with Postal Annex. They took the styrofoam peanuts. These days, I rarely need to use a postal service, but this store has consistently been difficult mostly because of their customer service, or lack thereof. The only time I go there now is for an Amazon return but for anything else, I will stick to Postal Annex. read more

Please know that I had communicated for many weeks with the corporate UPS folks, in writing, about the concerns I observed at this location PRIOR to writing the Yelp review. Don't get confused: UPS store only accepts UPS and USPS (they charge more for USPS deliveries) Postal ANNEX only accepts Fed Ex and USPS items This location is convenient. Yes, parking sucks. It's located on the Rite Aid and Rubio's side - look for those two landmarks if you drive here. We buy alot of stuff from amazon and some of the higher ticket items that we want to return, we prefer to hand deliver to authorized location (just in CASE something happens). But they're cool here. We always pre print our prepaid amazon return label. And when we came here today, the guy asked if we wanted a confirmation receipt. Never been asked that from FedEx store or Postal Annex store! So that was kinda cool. Fast service, nice customer service. Not sure how much the delivery would have been if we didn't use amazon, but I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap. read more

I've been to this location only a few times, only because they are the closest one to my house for Amazon returns. Yesterday I had to drop a return off and the old lady working there could not be more hostile! She was clearly upset to have to be there. Upon scanning my package, she made the point of making a sarcastic comment 'critical isn't it?!' Excuse me?! I live near the Del Mar Highlands and always prefer to use UPS instead of Fedex or USPS. The employees are always so helpful and friendly and really educate you on the best shipping options. Never had a problem here. Always friendly and polite staff. Not sure why other people seem to think otherwise. Plus, give these people a break. They seem like they are working pretty hard during this pandemic. Having to deal with all the craziness during such a unique time in our lives is hard enough. I have the utmost level of respect for anybody who is working on the front lines during these times, be it a nurse or UPS Store cashier. Seems like this store has only gotten busier amidst the pandemic, and from what I saw, the staff is handling it as best they can. read more

My wife has had a mailbox here at the Del Mar Highlands UPS Store for her business for a couple years and one of the two of us usually swings by at least once a week. The salespeople at this location are fantastic - all are nice, knowledgable and extremely helpful. They carry packages out to our car for my wife when she shows up with our kids in tow, they call her if she hasn't picked up a package that says it is perishable on the outside of the box and they do whatever they can to help. My only criticism is their prices seem a bit high, but no higher than at other UPS stores. I wish they gave a discount for their other services and products to people with mailboxes at the branch, but otherwise, we're thrilled with the service at this UPS Store location. read more

The middle-aged white guy working at the counter today treated me like I wasn't even human when I dropped off an Amazon return. No greeting and zero eye contact. All the more interesting is that he was super flirty and talkative with the blonde woman wearing spandex in front of me. He was borderline hostile to me. I've gone here multiple times to ship some packages (and of course return amazon items) and I've always had a great experience here. Unlike some other UPS Stores, the staff here is extremely nice, polite, and personable. I've gone when they were super busy but still went out of their way to assist me with a smile on their face even with all the holiday rush. When choosing shipping options they give me what's best for me and don't pressure me into the most expensive option. I highly recommend this location and it is one I will continue using. read more

I usually have very little time during the day (especially to be able to return items that I've purchased online), I arrived pretty close to closing time, with a bunch of items to get shipped back. Twice now my wine club shipment was shipped to this location by accident. They charged me $20 a box a month ago to pick it up since I don't have a box with them. I thought that was insane. Today went to pick up a small box and they charged me $30 or they were going to send back. Really?! That is a ridiculous rip off!. Especially when I called over a week ago to see if it was there and was told no they didn't have it when they did. And I have been a customer for a while now just do not have a box with them. Never will buy a thing there again. Fedex is hands down more professional and ethical. read more
