Depending on the time of day, this location can get pretty busy. Staff is still a lot nicer than the staff I've experienced at the other location nearby. Also I sell a lot of things I no longer wear on resale apps and can't believe I just realized at my last visit that I found just use the machine kiosk with my prepaid QR code. I like the human interaction but Will definitely be doing that next time the line is super long. read more

Local post office--they are kind and friendly when you enter and their service is the best it can be considering they are almost always busy when I go in. Everytime I have been here I have received excellent service. I suspect the low rating comes from the wait time that sometime occur when there is only one or two clerks present. Also, recently the parking lot has been very full due to the addition routes that were added and their employees using the parking lot. Not sure why they couldn't use the parking lot in the adjacent shopping center and cross the street to the Post Office and leave parking for the customers. I have been going to this post office for more than a decade and it is best post office to go to except during holidays season where the traffic could be high. The service is always quick after a short wait. My recent experience with the post office felt like leaving a review. I was mailing my son's wedding card but unfortunately the card couldn't be mailed as a envelope, the lady who was helping me was definitely concerned about me spending me quite a bit towards mailing them and she gave me all different options to save on mailing, especially separating local mail that can be hand delivered. I felt like there was good value for the service. The service requested was quick too. I always love their self-service option which is what I use most of times but always get best service from the desk too. read more

I had a package go missing even though USPS tracking showed it was "delivered in/at mailbox," so I called this office since the delivery was made by them. The woman I spoke with was very rude and unwilling to help. She said she would ask the carrier to "check the mailbox," but nothing was done afterward. This is our closest branch post office. Lately, it has been fairly empty, but there have been times when the counter lines snakes out the front. Having had a problem with mail posted in the outside drop boxes (which are drive up), I now always take mail inside for posting. There is one self serve kiosk in the lobby. For anything more than basic postal services, you have to go the regional center in Rancho Bernardino (Carmel Mountain). read more

This USPS is located right next to CVS, it's a little hidden because this is USPS building is super fancy. If you find a glass like huge building with blue tiles and lots of mailboxes in the corner, you've come to the right place! Really huge inside with lots of room to package your goodies if you havn't already. They have a self serve station where everything is computerized and you answer a bunch of questions on the screen before dropping off your item. The wait time is typical of most postal services, and is expected but never really loved..ya know? I think I waited 15-20 minutes with just two people ahead of me. You can't predict the wait because when I went one person was behind me and during my whole 15-20 minute length of wait in line, I counted back an additional 12 people behind me. The folks here were really nice so please don't put out all your anger of not being able to wait or have patient onto them :) Also don't get mad at people in front of you that have tons of packages, random questions they have , etc. Again, you really cannot predict the wait time, or what the people in front of you will be needing as far as services go. I recommend if you havn't packaged anything or wrote on your box yet, don't waste your time on the side doing that and jumping in line, just jump in line if there is at least a few, and then write as you wait. Package as you wait, fill out that form as you wait. You can thank me later. They also sell stationary, cards, shipping supplies and have plenty of boxes for you Priority or Flat Rate mailers. Plenty of nice wide, angled parking. If parking is full, just park at CVS and walk up. read more

It's a convenient location behind the CVS. There's plenty of parking and they have drive up drop off to a few mailboxes. There's a self service center where you can weigh and print stamps/labels yourself. I personally find it easier to go to their website and do so though. The postal workers have overall been friendly on my visits. I agree with others that the people here can sound like robots but hey, doesn't your neighborhood barista too sometimes. Sometimes the line is long but I haven't found a no-line USPS location as of date. There was a line today when I visited. I needed to send something Priority Mail and wanted to pay/get tracking # at this location. A worker came to the line and asked if I just needed a stamp and was paying with a credit card. I said yes and she proceeded to use an iPhone kinda contraption to get the package info, print a stamp and receipt (w/ tracking info), and use my credit card to swipe the payment (directly on that iPhone thing). Super easy, super fast. So that was a first. There aren't many postal options in this area. It's close to the 56 fwy so that's another plus. I'd use this location if I was in the area again. read more

I work about 60 to 75 hours a week as a nurse. I was not able to check my home mailbox for about a week. The mailman decided to return all of my packages to the senders. I am now missing 2 new dresses that I purchased. I am missing a new skirt. I am missing headbands that I purchased. I am missing vitamins that I purchased. It was a hassle to call the post office, email the post office and go to talk to the manager at the post office to ask why all of my mail has not been delivered to my mailbox for 2 weeks. I had no notification at all from the post office that my mail has been returned to all the senders and what the reason was ? My Amazon purchases were also returned to Amazon without my consent ? Is this even legal ? If it happens again I will report this to my lawyers. It is ridiculous to not get your mail delivered without any notification. I wrote a review yesterday about the continuing issue with the carriers destroying and willfully damaging my mail and forcing large flat packages into a tiny box instead of placing as required in the adjacent parcel lockers. I see that this review was removed and I am not sure why it was censored. This is extra information about the previous review that was removed by yelp, about this USPS station and the willful damaging of my important items as deliberate vandalism against my items committed by the carrier who basically tried to force a square peg into a round hole. I contacted the assistant manager Rebecca. She asked me to accomodate to her timing to get back to me and never met her appt to call me. She then had the phone at the station off the hook all afternoon on Aug 9. On Aug I0 I spoke with Cynthia as Rebecca would not come to the phone. I was told over the 2 days that the station had not had a manager for several months. This is not my problem. I was also told that there was no carrier on the route for several weeks. How was the mail being delivered then? If there were substitutes, that is also not my problem. They know from past events to not place these items in the box and to place them in the parcel locker. They deliberately violated this and deliberately destroyed my critically important item. read more

For the most part, this location is really nice and clean. Sort of like a hidden gem tucked behind CVS. I've had some people ask me if this was the Post Office a couple times because it's not that obvious. The lines generally move fast or no line at all. Everything I've ever mailed here has never gotten lost and always delivered on time/as expected especially Express Mail, so that's a plus! Compared to a different location where my Express Mail is often delayed or not shipped on time as expected. Staff is really nice! My perspective: I understand the lead/manager wants to help reduce the line and have people use the self service kiosk but I don't like being asked, told or feel pressured to use the self service kiosk if I'm already 1st/2nd in line. It's happened multiple times and makes absolute no sense. Not to mention, why should I work for postage if I'm paying for the service? I don't mind if the line is long and I personally choose to use the self service kiosk (which I do, but I certainly don't want to be asked/told.) Another note - I've had an employee tell me I used the wrong Priority Envelope and told me to change the envelope to a different Priority Envelope. I initially told him, that's a waste of packaging, he told me it doesn't matter - it's free! But, had I use the wrong packaging it's the same service why waste more material if it's accidental. He didn't budge, so I left and went to my car then double checked, I used the correct envelope and went back in. He apologized for the inconvenience. Overall, I'm pleased with this post office and it's services! I do like that the lines go much quicker than other locations - I think that's because the employees generally do not have side conversations. Highly recommend this postal service! read more

Ive technically walked in after work hours as I was incorrectly notified that the office closes at 6pm as stated on the receipt that they left at my door. Apparently the office closes at 5pm. Keep that in mind everyone! I found out firsthand after walking up to the door and seeing the time printed. Also keep note that the phone number you call for this branch only has a automated message - noone will pick up the phone. I been trying to verify when they close so I could see if it is possible for me to even make it in to pick it up. So far not very impressed. My review has to do with the service and how it is a bit hard to get something redelivered when the code written does not work on the website. Will update soon whenever I do manage to get my package. Why can I not give this place ZERO stars!! I went here yesterday because I needed to get 118 envelopes metered. I usually go to the one next to work in Del Mar but since I was close to my house, I went here. I came at around 2:00pm. I figured it would be a decent time since it was after the lunch rush. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! This is THE WORST post office. I have been here before and each time it was a horrible experience but this was by far the worst. So I stand in line with three people waiting before me. Two people are working. One lady is helping some guy who was taking FOREVER. He could not decide how he wanted to send his package. Keep in mind the line is growing at this point. The second lady (the Asian one who has tattooed eyeliner, short curly hair, heavy foundation, and glasses -- PQ post officer goers, you know who I am talking about), she finished helping someone and walks off. She comes back a few times to look at the time but does she help anyone??? NO! So there is literally one lady working with the same guy while the rest of us waits. Anyways, the who I think was a supervisor comes out and tries to distribute the line. The Asian lady came back and he put me up next. So when it was my turn, I told her that I had 118 envelopes, all weighing the same and I just wanted to get them metered. She said "No. I cannot meter them. There is too many. I can do 1-2 but not all of them. I can sell you stamps". I told her "I do not want to buy stamps. I want them metered". She kept saying "Too many. There is a long line". And I said "I know there is a long line. I have been standing in the line. Now I am up and I just want these metered". I am not going buy stamps to put 2-3 stamps PER envelope. I have done that before. Anyways, she kept telling me no and "talk to the supervisor". So I proceeded to talk to the supervisor. He asked me what I wanted to do with the envelopes. I explained to him that I did not want to buy stamps because it took forever and that I would rather get them metered. He said "Okay, they should be able to do that for you". I said "No...the lady told me that she could NOT meter them for me". And he said "Wait, hold on". And he goes and talks to her. He basically tells her that she needs to meter them and she kept arguing saying that there was too many. He proceeded to tell her "You got to do what you go to do". Exactly. It is your freaking job! I could go on and on about this place but seriously, worst post office EVER. DO NOT ever go to that lady. She is just lazy. But thank you to Mr. Supervisor for addressing the issue. read more

Even though I pay handsomely for renting a post office box here, I have to park a distance away and hike because they've decided to move more routes and more employees to this location and let them fill up the parking lot with their cars that are sitting there all day and not moving in and out of spaces. They need to have their employees park in the back or park elsewhere and shuttle them to work. It's not right for them to plant their cars in all the customer parking spaces and never move them all day and make paying customers hike from a distance, even those who are not that capable of it as there are only two handicap spots there and they are often taken too. A note on the front door explaining why all the spaces are taken by employees and apologizing for the inconvenience does not make it OK! On a previous occasion my gold filled 20 year service pin was sent to my PO Box here and was ripped out of its packaging. They said the machine must have done it and I filed the "lost" paperwork but of course they never found it. I mailed some important legal documents certified mail with return signature card. The delivery person got a "signature" (unreadable scribble) but never had the person print their name so there was a scribble and I had no idea who actually received the important piece of mail. I complained to the management at this post office where I had mailed it from, explaining how important it was that I know what person received the piece of mail for court purposes, and they said I could mail it again. I did that, circling in red on the certified mail return card where it says "print name" of person receiving it. Got the card back the same way as the first, a scribbled signature and no printed name! I complained to the manager and left my phone number for follow up and of course I never heard back. So in the end I paid for certified mailing of manila envelopes full of documents twice, each time paying between $5-$10 for the postage plus the certified mail with return signature card, without getting what I paid for. It is no wonder USPS seems to be going out of business. read more

At first I was confused why a postal office would have such low of stars when all you do is send in boxes... until I decided to go in a drop off a few boxes of my own. As I was approaching the employees to send off my packages, one of the ladies rolled her eyes at me as if she were telling me how annoying the customer in front of her was. I awkwardly smiled and looked away. After a 30 minute wait, that same lady was ready to "help" me. I was turning in a prepaid return package which she refused to take because it was over 13 ounces. Me, not knowing what the rules were, I started to question her. She got angry and just said she can't accept it like she already explained. I told her it's already prepaid and ready to return... as the return stated. Finally, I left that USPS upset, went to another USPS and they explained the situation, she was completely wrong, she got things mixed up, and while I do forgive because we all make mistakes, I didn't appreciate her attitude to try and help me understand the situation. All in all, if you want terrible customer service AND no explanation AND not be able to send in your packages, come to this location! :) read more

I usually go to Carmel Mtn post office if I need to send a package. This was the first and last time I will go to this post office in Rancho Penasquitas. When I was approaching the desk, the worker on the right, yelled "YOU CANT MAIL THAT BOX WITH THAT TAPE!!" " YOU HAVE TO BUY TAPE IF YOU WANT IT MAILED TODAY!!". It was loud and it was rude. I have never been to a post office where there was ZERO customer service. There were three workers on at this time, all three just stared at me like they were angry. It was embarrassing, I felt like I had done something terribly wrong. It wasnt even my package, I was sending something my parents had wrapped. I seriously do not understand how government workers can act in this manner. I intend to follow up with the post office on this. March 5th at 345 pm is the time that this happened. read more

Parking is easy and there are normally plenty of spots. Service is slow compared to other post offices-- one time, I had to wait in line for almost 30 minutes! I go there frequently and have only seen the same three people working there (even when the line is long). I am guessing that there are lots of budget cuts going on with the USPS. Paid $40 for express guaranteed arrival for a package that was under 1 pound, a dress for a friend to wear to her brothers wedding. It doesn't arrive. Spend 2 hours on phone opening a case, case is approved for refund. Long story short, I have visited this post office location on FIVE separate occasions, spending hours of my time waiting in line, only to never have the one manager or supervisor or whomever can actually authorize my refund. Keep the $40, I am never using USPS again. There was a new employee training, who was yelling at a customer who clearly was ESL, then she and her supervisor began yelling at one another. Zero customer service.... They have lost 2 packages of mine in the last 3 months and both times I have spent 45mins -1 hour trying to figure out what happened. The Supervisor literally told me to go file a complaint online so that my mail carrier can have corrective action taken. I asked him why I needed to go online when I am standing right in front of him. The supervisor basically just only deflects and doesnt have a clue about what it means to take responsibility for something. Unfortunately, I am stuck with these government lackeys since I cant just get up and move :( Long story short they never found my packages and I still havent gotten my money back from the senders as the post office tells them I refused the delivery and the sender is waiting for the items to be returned before refunds are issued. read more

I don't even write reviews but this place is so horrible that I need to. I would give negative stars if I could. Horrible, AWFUL staff! Rude and LAZY! The ladies that work here are terribly slow, they try to hear life stories when the line is getting out the door. I was in line and left the line because it was taking forever and went to use the machine. I used it, and it didn't print me a tracking number. I went to ask if they can lookup my tracking code or refund me, and instead of just simply refunding me or looking it up... she argues with me about me getting out of line to use the machine. She won't do what I ask for a good 5-8min, instead she is lecturing and arguing with me. I ask for her supervisor and explain what happened and she continues to argue about me using the machine. Finally he just simply looks up the tracking number. This place needs an entirely new staff. read more
