Just moved to MIssion Valley area and it was my first experience with this post office. I was waiting for a very small parcel. Our mailboxes are located in a small separate building since we have 4 buildings in our complex, so all mailboxes are in one place. Today, when my parcel was supposed to be delivered, all our mail lady did was leaving a notice in my mailbox "sorry we missed you"!!! She didn't leave my parcel on a table in the mail building, didn't go to my building and knock my door like ups does (it's a 30 sec walk), she didn't do anything, didn't even try to have my parcel delivered! Well how the hell do I suppose to get my parcel, if she just leaves a notice??? Stay in the mail building all day? No, thanks! When I tried to call them and complain, their phone wasn't even working! BTW, my landlord had the same problem when I was sending him a check, I sent it overnight, it was in a big envelope, and the mail lady did the same thing! She just left a notice, even though we have 6 special containers where she can leave big items. He ended up going to that god damn location and argue how stupid they are. So basically if you're waiting for something bigger than a regular envelope, you're not going to get it. Just terrible. Start working, please!!! read more

worst usps i've ever been!! i came to send internationally, I didn't know what to do with the address sticker so I asked the lady whether I put it inside or else and she kept questioning me "if u put it in there how can we see?" I mean I just need some directions on what to do, finally she told me to stick it on the package. but the WORST thing is while she was typing my information, she kept saying "so annoying", excuse me my information was annoying to you? if you hate your job then find another one. I F*CKING HATE THIS POST OFFICE. Either the management is inefficient or the office is grossly understaffed. The lines are way too long and the people are rude. Most recently, I stood in line for half an hour, then everyone behind the counter except for one person left for lunch. I was still 6 people deep in the line, and I didn't want to wait for another hour so I left and went to a UPS. Also, calling this location and getting a human being on the phone is night impossible. The phone rings and rings, then it just goes dead. There's no recording to tell you if you had correctly called the post office or anything. You're just left wondering if the post office changed phone numbers, and the number you had is now dead. When you DO get a person on the phone, they're not very helpful. I had a package scheduled to be delivered on a Saturday; my office was really busy so we have been open on weekends. Tracking showed that they tried to deliver 10am that Saturday but couldn't deliver because we were closed. There were 20 people there for normal business hours and nobody saw our mail carrier. Incredibly rude and unprofessional staff. I am surprised at all the other reviews because I have never encountered such appalling customer service at any post office before. I have been there about 5 times and each time I go there I never get a greeting, a smile, or polite customer service even if I am being polite. I expect politeness to be reciprocated, but that does not happen here. My husband agrees with me, as he has encountered the same appalling customer service. read more

I live 2 blocks from this post office. The carrier(s) for my neighborhood (Carson Elementary) are constantly messing up on delivering my mail. I either get the next door neighbors or they get mine. A lot of the time my mail is completely unaccounted for. I have called the office multiple times and was even sent a pink sticker to post on my mail slot for the carriers to check the mail twice for accuracy. I guess they can't read because it still happens every other day. I have had to make sure all my important mail goes to my PO box otherwise their is no guarantee I will ever see it. Many times I find the carrier will not even come to my house even though he has mail for me that day... is he being lazy? It seems that way. The USPS tracking information will say it's out for delivery with the mail man but won't come till the next day or so. This is literally the WORST experience I've had with a post office. I have always had post office boxes so this isn't the first time I've dealt with these antics... but this is the first time it's been this bad. This is one of those things were you have to suck it up because there is absolutely nothing you can do about it to change it. First off I'm NINE months pregnant, so standing in line for about 15 minutes was already pushing it as far as "quick customer service" goes. By the time I was first in the line, I decided I could look past this, but what I'm NOT willing to look past is how the African American postal worker pulled the also African American customer (who was standing BEHIND me in line) to check her out BEFORE me. The guy who was behind her (3rd in line) looked at me and said "what just happened?" And loudly I said "I don't know, I got cut in line I know that happened.." Which prompted the customer being helped to turn around and say "I was here earlier". That was when I said "We'll I'VE been standing in line waiting".... Once it was my turn to be "helped" the postal worker was rude to me and acted like she was hard of hearing. It's a shame filing a formal complaint won't do a thing here. But this horrible worker (whose name is Karen or Lauren or something .. The first half of her name tag was behind her vest) will definitely keep me from giving this place my business again. Seriously what's wrong with this country when a pregnant woman not only has to stand in a long line for stamps (understandable) but gets intentionally passed up once she finally hits the front of the line (unacceptable)? read more

I wanted to drop off and ship a small box with a postage and label on it already. The only thing I needed was to close the box with some packaging tape. I didn't have packaging tape with me, and all I needed was about 1 foot of tape. So, I thought I would just drive to the post office, get in line, and ask for help to tape the box. But when I politely ask for some tape from the counter lady, she said they don't have any "spare" packaging tape and directed me to buy one roll of packaging tape. I was so frustrated at how she was very unhelpful. I could definitely afford to buy packaging tape, but the lack of customer service was aggravating that I decided to leave. No wonder USPS is going bankrupt. They need to compete and provide better service like FEDEX and/or UPS! read more

I come here all the time. Why do I come here all the time? Because whenever there is a package that needs to be deliver to my apartment complex, I get a beige card. Even though I am at home when the postal carrier is delivering, I still would get a card to go pick up my packages. You know why? It is because the postal worker is too lazy to walk upstairs to give me my packages. It really sucks! As for the workers at this location. They are lazy. They take their time to walk to the bins and drop in the packages. They lost one of my package before. Guess what was in the package they lost " misplaced somewhere in the facility"? MY WEDDING DRESS!!!! I have to travel 3 times to this facility to pick up a package and of course, I have to wait in the long each time as well. One time to get denied for picking up a package for my husband. Second time to showed the signature that he gave me the approval to pick it up for him. Third time, they can't find where they placed the package the second time so I had to periodically check with them. Very typically. I HATE YOUR FACILITY HERE! WORST USPS OFFICE EVER. Service was fast but unfortunately with little attention to detail. I asked about my options to send two letters with the cheapest form of tracking. I ending up paying more for both letters than I remembering paying in the past and being charged for an additional return receipt on both when I only wanted it on 1. I guess when the service is slow, maybe that is because workers are paying more attention to the good service?! read more

Horrible ! I've had to go in so many times and report wrongly delivered and lost mail. When ever I get the wrong mail I always take it to the right address which is one of my neighbors. Ive gotten birthday cards, and gifts that were my neighbors they are so happy and shocked when they find out it was delivered to me! And even worse my husbands residency ID and social security card which was labeled PRIORITY MAIL was sent to the wrong address, luckily my neighbor returned it to me. Before the IDs were sent to the wrong address I had already filed a complaint about getting the wrong mail from a different zip code and they said they'd fix it and send a notice to the carrier to pay attention to the address, but the worst happened and they still delivered the most important document to the wrong address, my neighbor. My address is clear as day on the side of the house, the supervisor for this location is a complete jerk...he seems like he doesn't want to deal with any of it, when I was in line there was two other people there with similar complaints ! recently within this month a friend sent a baby shower gift to me which was never received by me, and unfortunately it got to the wrong neighbor who did not return it and decided to keep it. It was reported delivered, but I never received it. So, thanks to the carrier who handed over my baby shower gift to a thief, I'm just glad it wasn't my husbands social like last time ! I reported this post office to the BBB, Im definitely filing another complaint to the higher overseers of this location. read more

I can never get a package delivered if it doesn't fit in my mailbox even though leaving at my door is a good option because can't be seen from the street. Even after setting up redelivery it didn't come and I have to wait at least an hour to speak to anyone over the phone!! I really think my mailman is too lazy to deliver a package that weighs more than 2 lbs and I don't pay for delivery only to have to go to the post office to get it read more

One star is too many. Whatever you do, do not get a PO Box. There are no words to describe the amount of mail and package theft that has taken place and no one there seems to care. I am writing again to tell you about my mail carrier, Tina. I don't know how i got so lucky but Tina is the PRIME example of how customer service should work. I don't know if this is confusing to you but so many times i have ordered something on the internet with shipping via fed ex or ups. Somewhere along the journey it is transferred to the usps, why on earth? The big carriers must get tired onthe last leg of the journey! Anyway, if you happen to find out in time about the change over, you can make arrangments to have you usps carrier to drop it off at a place you request. I just had this happen to me and did't know in time to make arrangements. Enter Tina. She really watches out for her customers. I found my package on my balcony with the rest of my mail secured with a rubber band just waiting for me. Getting my mail can be problematic for me due to health reasons. Having Tina to watch out for me goes above and beyond AND she aleays has a sweet word and a smile on her face. She deserves recognition and a pay raise! I have had issues with this location multiple times. First one of their employees told me that because of the design of the envelopes for my wedding invitations that there was a chance that they would get returned to my address(because the return address was printed on the back of the envelope). Then last week I shipped a package and they didn't scan it in. I called Monday because the package was to arrive on Saturday and it had not. They told me they didn't have any information and they would track it down and call me within 48 hours. Here I am 48 hours later and they called to tell me there is no information but they didn't lose it. They have no proof they didn't lose it and said that while it is a requirement to scan in packages it doesn't always happen because they're busy. When I said "then it isn't a requirement because you don't do it when you're busy." The so called "supervisor" said it is but it doesn't happen every time. Maybe I'm confused on what the word requirement means but it doesn't mean sometimes at my job. read more

We used to have a great mailman, Craig, but he is retired. The new mail man is horrible. We don't get our mail until 9 pm at night. I sent my girlfriend to send a package and I needed a picture of the package so I can send tracking number. So the lady with dreadlocks got mad and said "I hate when people want to take pictures of packages" and tryed to get 5 more dollars from her! Classy I hope management reads this but if not its ok. USPS lost my package. Tracking said it arrived but I didn't see anything in the mailbox or doorstep. I called the site and after 30 min, NOONE answered the god dam phone. I had to call the 800 number and someone answered. I told them what happen with my package and she gave me a case number. I called the post office again and after 15 min someone finally answered. I told him that USPS tracking said my package arrived today at 2.56pm but I didn't receive anything yet. He said "It's not even 6 o'clock yet." He said he will check the computer and put me on hold. It was 4:50pm. I haven't heard anything from him and it was already 5:20pm. The place closed at 5 so I assumed he put me on hold and went home. I've never experienced this kind of customer service crap ever. If these people were working at my office, they would have been FIRED on the spot for not answering the friggen phones and clocking out and going home while they put a customer on hold. read more

There is this kind of a short lady who works at this location, her name is "MARIA" and she is a terrible person. she is extremely rude, she will use cuss words and disrespect customers by answering extremely rude-fully back at them. I have been to that post office many times and have seen her answer back disrespectfully and unwilling to help customers in general. I have had my share experience with her as well. She shows that she does not like working there and that she won't get fired disrespecting customers because she is part of union. I shipped a priority mail envelope on a Tuesday with an expected date the coming Thursday. The package hadn't arrived by the next Monday and there were no weather advisories on the USPS website. I called and opened a claim early that morning. The lady promised someone would call in 24 hours with an update of some kind, even if it was just to say they didn't have news on my vanished package. 24 hours came and went. I called back Tuesday night and they "escalated" the claim and said that someone would call. No one did. The package arrived 8 days after the expected date. I never got an explanation. I called customer service 4 times over the course of 3 days and waited for periods of 20 and 30 minutes without being helped. Finally I decided to go into this post office. When explaining what happened, the lady interrupted me and shook her head while saying, "There's no guarantee on that delivery." I told her I understood but I wanted to find out what happened (this is the 2nd time this has happened and both times USPS remained unresponsive). I showed her the claim number and she refused to look at it. When I asked for her superior because I needed help with my claim and with filing a complaint, she refused, "We cannot help you." No apologies, no asking what she could do for me. Nothing. Customer service means nothing to this post office. Even if she really could not have helped me, interrupting and refusal to listen is unacceptable conduct. read more

Everyone is so helpful and friendly as long as you're nice to them also. Ordered a package which went from UPS to this post office and then to my home. I noticed that when I tracked the package, it said it had been delivered early in the morning but the package was no where to be found by 2pm. I figured it was either stolen or dropped off at the wrong address so I called the post office and the man I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. He tracked down the man who dropped it off, and asked him about it. The mail man then came back to the area (within the hour of me making this phone call I should add) found the package, came to my door and apologized and was very sincere. I was never frustrated or mad at all, just curious as to what happened to the package so I told him it was no problem and thanks so much. The thing that bothered me the most was how scared he actually looked when I answered the door, obviously he's had to deal with many heartless and inconsiderate people who act like they've never made a mistake before. So to everyone on here that comes to complain about every little thing, maybe if you were nice and understanding you'd get better customer service. The worst Post Office in San Diego County that I have patronize. I have a P.O box closer to my job. However, this is my neighborhood post office. My daughter tried to surprise me with a package. The surprise failed when she call me and stated that she been tracking the package and it have arrived to the Linda Vista Post Office. I went to check inside my home mailbox and no slip was inside. She gave me the tracking number. I drove down to my neighborhood post office with my tracking number. A very extremely and helpful larger black woman assisted me. She could not locate my item. I ask to speak with a Supervisor to report mail fraud. It took the supervisor 45 minutes to come from the back. I was at this post office the prior Friday reporting mail fraud had taken place at my address. The same Filipino supervisor woman came out, just as useless as the Friday before. I articulated to her the scenario, regarding my home address being used by unauthorized people. I might as well been talking to a brick wall. She seem to not understand the words that was coming out my mouth. I think she got offended when I mentioned the U.S. Postal Inspector. However, she did take my tracking number and phone number down. It have been two business days, and no call. I tried to call several times today and the phone go unanswered. I work Monday - Friday from 8;00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. I will have to take off early during the week to personally go down there. This Post Office is the stereotypical, of what comics would have a field day in their act. And it would be absolutely true. read more

The most unprofessional conversation on the phone ever. I honestly recieved no information at all from the postal guy and he kept saying that he couldnt do anything to service my needs. All I asked for was to check if I had my address changed and he said he didnt have the credentials. Besides that, he spoke to me as if I was a child. I am very familiar with how the Postal Service works and this guy seemed to have not a clue in the world. You would think that they would have some kind of staff trainging service or at least some kind of customer service training. I guess that the scrooge mcducks get away with that "humbug" malarky in the small city of Linda Vista. Maybe they should consider having a supervisor on site so that I dont need to jump through hoops all day to find out something as simple as a change of addresss or tracking a package. Do you even need a high school diploma or GED to work there? You guys should consider some micro management or some kind of employment screening method that is not so filled with flaws. I would hate to have individuals like that talking to my customers if I owned a business... but then again, My customers would matter to. i run a small business, i mailed a payment to the board of equalization on june 3rd, i just received a late fee of $100.00 because they didnt get the letter with payment until august 6th ! i've had problems with this post office in the past , either they are lazy or they are incompetent , and now they are costing me money. no wonder they are going out of business and losing millions of dollars. our government at work. read more
