I popped in last week to simply make sure they did livescan fingerprinting at this location, making sure to say hello and ask how her day was going. Instead of answering my question, the young lady just said "do u have your paperwork", and did not even look my direction. I apologize and explained I did not, I just wanted to make sure they did fingerprinting. She was irritated and annoyed throughout the entire interaction, even though no one else was in the store. I asked how much they charged and she just sighed " I don't know! I wouldn't know until you brought them in. You need your paperwork." It was so an abrupt and rude I simply chuckled and left. We all have bad days but this was just rude. Super disappointed because I just moved across the street and was going to use this postal annex quite a bit but due to the terrible service I will pick another location. read more

I have always liked the people and service at this PA , but today was so far beyond call of duty that I have to share it. I'm on crutches, but moving fine and not in much pain. One of the employees who was obviously off duty with her hands full and a baby strapped to her front torso saw me hobbling over and went inside to get my two packages for me. She remembered my box # already and walked out with them and even carried to my vehicle. She asked which was mine so that she could go set it there while I slowly made my way back because she had to get to an appointment. Who is this nice? I had just gotten married and was in the need to change the name on my passport, after some research I read that the Postal Annex would be able do it no appointment necessary! After receiving all the paperwork and filling them out, I went with my husband on a Friday and was able to leave within 15-20 minutes, it was that fast! The service was great, really informative and the gal who helped me even gave some recommendations for our stay in Ireland! I had my passport expedited so within the next week or so I had it! I am so excited that I was able to get everything taken care of in such a timely and organized manner, getting passports is stressful so the staff was amazing! Definitely coming back! read more

This company is completely unprofessional. I contacted them for a quote to ship a fine art painting and I was quoted around $850. Upon requesting a cheaper service, I was able to get a quote for about $500. AFTER I sent this information to my buyer, the owner contacted me to let me know they do not ship artwork. Seriously, train you employees. This took time, energy, and art buyer is now confused and angry about the fake quote as well. So if you have art to ship - don't bother taking it here. They don't ship artwork. And they apparently won't tell you that before wasting your time. read more

Not only are they great for shipping things, they make keys, they have stamps ( way less of a nightmare than the Post Office !) they also have a great selection of quirky fun cards. They can fax ( old school) print documents when my printer was on the fritz. This Postal Annex is amazing. I've been to a few and this one totally out classes all of them. Although I don't live around here I try to come by whenever I can. I just know that all my mail services will be completed in a timely manner and complete Trust. I've been to other places where they've messed up my mailing causing a total nightmare. It seems like they train all their staff here very well because everyone here knows what they're doing and is very courteous. They have always come through for me and recently I decided not to go elsewhere and save myself the headache. I want to first say that we did not actually use any services here, but the review is based on customer service alone! We stopped in here on Saturday because my fiance needs a passport for our upcoming honeymoon. His is expired, and he has been trying to figure out how to renew an expired one, which turns out to be extremely complicated. The woman who was working behind the counter explained that because it is so complicated, we would have to go to a post office, and probably make an appointment, and that she couldn't help. Not only that, but she went so far as to get on her computer and look for locations for us that offer appointments! She gave us many options near, and when we told her we are probably moving up to Oceanside, she looked up locations there too! Nowadays, it really impresses me when others go above and beyond (especially when they know you are capable of probably looking it up yourself). I came in here with some lamps that I needed to return to Amazon, another smaller box I had to drop off, and a need for several stamps. I had a prepaid shipping label for the box with the lamps. Though I used to be decent at Tetris, I couldn't see the lamps fitting in the box without some modification at best, whole new box at worse. I'm used to going to these types of places for my packaging needs; I even had a shop package and box up my AR 15 for warranty service in the past. I am used to paying a good amount of money for just the packaging. I figure it's better off paying it then getting denied the whole refund amount due to a damaged product. Anyway, this location is in a nice area that houses my barbershop (shout out to Tam VN barbershop) and a Grocery Outlet, along with the irrestible Cravory cookie shop. There is plentiful parking in the spacious private lot. The girl at the front was nice and greeted me with a smile. I told her what I needed and she got another girl (the manager?) who looked inside the box, moved somethings around, and ten seconds later said "Just wrap around it and put some bubble wrap on top, it will be fine". Dang I felt foolish but relieved at the same time. She also said "just charge x.xx for the packaging material", which was far less than what I had estimated I would be spending here. I was actually shocked. Dropping off the other package and getting stamps went without a hitch. This was a great experience and I will with no doubt use this store again for my shipping needs, and recommend you patronize this awesome small business as well!! I don't care what anyone says - this postal annex is the best in the West. I no longer even live close to it and I still keep it as my central place to get my mail. Why? Customer service says it all. Staff are required to know your name and your box number. On those days When I'm feeling a little out of sorts it's great to have somebody greet me by name and look happy to see me. Not only do they provide mailing services - they will find the perfect box to send something in and pack it for you, There is a computer and copy machine there for you to use. And for the shopaholic like myself lots of useless and not so useless things to buy. Most importantly for me was the help they gave me when i lost my passport and had to reapply to get a new one. Tyler patiently guided me through the process. I think even if I move to China I'd still use this postal annex. That's how good they are. read more

Pretty awesome that this Postal Annex has 5 YELP STARS and it is no mistake. A very well-run, busy and popular local business. The West Pt. Loma Postal Annex has the best customer service, friendly, helpful employees and can take care of just about any kind of postal, shipping or office need you might have. I have used their fax and copy services although sometimes Tyler has to come over and show me how to copy an email off Gmail so that I can print it out. Since my son wrecked the printer, I have to come here quite often now. Lovely bohemian Jackie is the best! She actually took a passport renewal photo of me last month that is not half bad. I like to hang around and watch some of the male customers come in and try and flirt with her. She is so nice to all these wacky dudes and manages to converse with customers as she goes about weighing parcels and answering the phone. Multi-dexterous Jackie for sure. The only thing I might mention is that they open at 8:30 a.m. Sometimes I am killing time at the Starbucks next door, waiting for Postal Annex to open.
