Everything that is said about getting passport here is totally true. I came at 6 am, got the first spot on the list (I had to wait till 6:30 for the guy to come out with the list), went to the gym, came back at 8:45, and was finished by 9:30. A total pleasure. read more

i have mixed feelings. the workers i've encountered have been very friendly, but they dropped the ball when it came to changing the mail key for my client. it took us two visits to get this done, as the first woman said she put the paperwork in, but apparently this was never done. they took their time making a new key, by then there was a months worth of forwarded mail piled up. it was frustrating, because bills were not being received, and they would not give us the mail while we were waiting for the paperwork for the key to be processed. they said they'd contact us when the key was ready, but they did not do so. my understanding is that apartment managers usually initiate the process to change the key when new tenants move in, but this particular manager told us it was up to us. we also asked a woman at the desk if the stamp rate was going up, and she told us that no one had informed them of this, even though we went home and looked it up online, and the rate was going up a month from then. but i don't begrudge her this, i know the usps is kind of a mess of a bureaucracy. read more

This is for Harvinder!!! If you're looking to get a new passport, I 10/10 recommend this post office purely by the fact that Harvinder (the lady who handles all the processing) has impeccable customer service. She was super efficient, kind, and funny! She is not impatient and will help you through any questions. I had all my forms, photocopies of IDs, checks, and picture taken beforehand so I was in the office for only about 5 minutes. If you want to avoid a line, come between 6-6:30 and the custodian will be there with a clipboard and sign in sheet that you write your name on. If you have more than one person with you to get a passport, you have to write each name down. You come back at 9 and Harvinder will briefly explain the process to those standing in line and then call out those that have already written their names down. I came at 6:30 and there were two names written down already but when I returned at 9, no one else had written their name down. So if you don't want get up THAT early you could line up an hour or so at the door before 9. She will then hand the clipboard down the line, and the cut off is 30 people. read more

Im convinced that post office workers enjoy making you dance just to say no. I went to this post office. They were closed but I was hoping there would be some flate rate envelopes in the kiosk. There were none. i looked through the door and saw one of the employees restocking the one on the inside of the lobby whnere you normally get service if they were open. I made eye contact with her thinking she would see my desperation and open the door and give me a few envelopes. She just blew me off and walked away. Two words...FED-EX..lol read more

I have been going here for a few years and I usually have great service. During the holidays there are longer lines, but the staff is always friendly and willing to assist you in any way possible. Their prices are very reasonable and they deliver things quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend this post office. read more

This post office routinely tries to sell up customers, "Would you like faster service?" "Would you like a proof of receipt? Many times I have paid considerably extra for this amazing "Proof of receipt" - a card with a signed signature, date of delivery, and so on. Yet I have never received back in the mail this imaginary, legendary "PROOF OF RECEIPT". When I complained, in person, they said, "No, you have to phone a number on your receipt." That's not what they promised. They say, "See the supervisor." Robertsville doesn't have a Postmaster, and the supervisor changes with the weather. This is the most poorly-run post office in San Jose. Nay, in California, Nay, in the world! Despite otherwise seemingly good postal clerks, management ignores problems brought to them, by me as if they are laughing at the customers, like we don't count, aren't valued and irrelevant. Thank gawd this post office was in the area because I forgot to drop off a package to the post office the day before and I thought I was going to have to drive all the way to Eastridge to drop off my package. We were just coming from Joann's fabric store and we headed over to this location. There was parking in the front and we walked right in to post office to put the package in the bin with no problem. Friendly staff, priority mail boxes are always restocked. I have called with various questions and the staff have always answered.

Of course I have to use the Post Office and 99% of the time it works. But I ordered a book that was sent to me from Sedona, Az. The book did not arrive and I tracked it to the post office on Branham which is near my house. The book was sent April 18 and tracking shows that it arrived in Branham on April 21 and to be delivered April 25. I went by the Post Office on 27 and was told the book had been sent to the main Post Office in San Jose and I could not pick it up but it would be delivered in "a couple of weeks". Tracked today and the book as of May 9 is back in Sedona "Available for Pick Up"..The tracking shows that this book made 12 stops along the way from Sedona to San Jose and back to Sedona - Wow. read more

Friendly and helpful counter staff. I would gladly wait in line here as an alternative to the nearby Almaden 95120 post office on Crown Blvd where nastiness is the norm. Went in today to get my passport renewed. Was helped by Harvinder. She was extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable. Sometimes these types of things can be stressful but she helped me sort out my requirements and got me set on my way in about 10 minutes. There was a bit of a line there. The passport processing area opens at 9am. I arrive at 8:45 AM and had 3 customers in front of me. I wasn't seen until approximately 9:40. If you're on a schedule, arrive when the doors open for the main building. read more

In the silicon valley area it can be really hard to get a passport processed without an appointment, no joke other post offices said their earliest appointment was 3 months from when I called!! My boyfriend and I drove over mid-morning and were helped right away, not even a wait! The postal worker Harvinder was very knowledgeable and helpful. She answered a few questions we had about processing time and then quickly prepared our application. Oh my God! Trying to get a passport here is awful! You can't make appointments. We signed a list that was taken away because there is only one person processing requests. They haven't been using the list to call people in so others just go in. There is no one to just answer questions so the processor is constantly interrupted. We are going to stand in line literally ALL DAY! Why is the post office in charge of passports? They clearly don't have the manpower or the systems to adequately serve folks. Go there for the mail, but don't expect a friendly clerk. Especially if she looks Hispanic, has short hair and wears glasses aka Clerk #12 (according to my receipt). I went to this post office to mail a couple packages; the parking was easy and there was a very short line. Things were great until I got to the counter and met Clerk #12. I asked to mail my packages first class. She typed in some some info on her scale (or whatever that is) and she told me it would cost $7.95 for 2-3 day delivery or $20 something to go overnight. As she said this she pointed to the digital screen in front of me. I asked again about the first class delivery, but she impatiently snaps that these rates (pointing to the screen facing me) were my only options because my package exceeded a weight limit. Ok fine, thanks for telling me. Geezus! Now that I know I will not be using First Class, I look back at the screen in front of me that she kept tapping with her pen which showed only one option of the overnight rate of $20 something. When I told her that, she raises her voice and says "Well, I'm TELLING you what your rates are!". Me, and both clerks standing at their other stations, look at her wondering what the heck was she so crabby about! I finish my business, pay for my packages (in $1 bills and she's happy about that because apparently she was low on them) and leave. What a lovely way to start the day. I'll just keep going to my regular post office on Hillsdale where they are always professional and friendly. In fact, next time I go there, I'll tell them about Clerk #12. Maybe they will know her! I used their passport services, so I cannot attest to the merits of the post office as a whole, however I walked into the passport office, handed them my paperwork and swipped my debit card and within 10 minutes I was out the door. Harvinder was very friendly and quick! Bring your checkbook or cash as the occasionally run out of money orders for debit cards, I have no complaints. read more

Went here because the post office near me was filled by 6:30am everyday. If you filled out your passport form online before coming, the process is much faster. Had the pleasure of Harvihder helping me. She was extremely polite and cheerful. Wish the passport office would open earlier, so kids could get the application done before school, and adults before their jobs. Currently it opens at 9am. read more

I called prior to coming to get my passport. The gentleman that I spoke to me was very helpful and suggested that I come as early as 5:00am to line up to ensure that I would be seen. I did arrive at 5:00am and was the 8th person in line. Another employee arrive at about 6:30am and took the names of the people that were there waiting (up to 20 people). Once your name was on the sign up sheet you were free to leave and come back at 9:00am when they opened. I came back at 9:00am and each applicant's estimated time to process was 15 minutes. Mary Lou was super friendly, efficient and helpful. The process was smooth and courteous. My recommendation would be to plan to get there early to ensure you'll be seen. read more

I was there at US Passport office at 6:00 AM today for my daughter's passport renewal. Put our name on a clipboard carried by a friendly employee. Came back at 9:00 AM. There were only two people and we were the first one to go in. 10 min, we were out. Harvinder the person in charge checked everything, took a picture of my daughter, explained clearly the details. Officially the worst post office I've had to use. Nearly every package is delivered late or to the wrong house, sometimes never even delivered at all. I have had many that are even reported as delivered and then don't show up for another few days to a week. Customer service is awful, no one ever answers the phones, and if you go in they give you very little information and most just brush you off. I've had to start getting all of my packages delivered to my office or else I risk never receiving them. If I had any other option I would never use them again. read more

This process is unacceptable. Limited availability resulting in poor service. We live in a dense populated area, yet only one worker available at the passport center. It doesn't make sense. It just shows how the US postal service (government) is so cheap. They would rather have people pay for the expedited service. We waited 3 hours to be told they were closing for lunch. We came back after lunch and were told we may not be helped. We had 4 people ahead of us. What a joke! We drove to meridian and Hamilton to see if that passport center was better to learn that even though they are open until 4pm, they lock the doors at 2:30pm. Again...totally unacceptable! The passport center doesn't even deserve a single star. Who can we talk to to get this fixed? It would probably be faster getting a passport off the black market. I know that's a ridiculous thing to say, but we can't expect to offer such a poor service. read more

Everyone dreads doing that stupid first time passport application process... but this post office made that experience a little more tolerable. After calling numerous post office's some answering the phone and some never answering I opted for this location since the guy on the phone gave me good guidance. This location only takes 30 people in the morning and if THEY HAVE TIME they will take an additional 10 in the afternoon. When you come here, make sure you come prepared with all your documents. Have copies of your DL/Birth Certificate/and your check book. So my friend and I came here at 5am (after stopping by a jack in the box to grab breakfast) and we were the first in line on Tuesday morning. The good thing is the lobby where the PO BOX's are is open and you can go and sit in line in front of the Passport door. Literally 15 mins later another person strolled in. At 7am there was already about 15-20 people lined up. We brought our chargers and food and a blanket to sit on and just played games. Good thing about having two people is one can keep the place in line while you leave to go use the restroom. The lady doesn't show up until about 830ish to get everyone in line's names on a list and to answer questions. After that when she took us in, the women was very polite and informative and gave us good vacation advice for our trip to Cancun lol. We were out of there in less then 30 mins. You got to here early to get out early and remember it's only for the first time applicants you gotta do this. Making appts are always months out in Advance... read more

Went in on 7/19/2017 for Passport Renewal. I came here after I had been to the Post Office at EASTRIDGE aka HELL ON EARTH.... We were looking at other offices while waiting and this was the one we called, they answered the phone in a timely manner and told us that no one had signed up yet for the afternoon. Mind you, we went to Eastridge at 9-10 am and were #35-36 on the list.. We obviously left Eastridge and came here and there were only 5 people in line! It honestly took about 15 minutes per person but what do you expect. The lady at the desk's name was Harvinder and even though it was 12 and it was time for her lunch, she squeezed us in and took care of us super fast! She was extremely friendly and had a freaking amazing attitude which is RARE at the post office. She was such a joy to have and I loved her! read more

The janitor arrived with list where I entered the name and went home and came back at 9:00 AM. Kudos to the new dedicated window/area for passports at this post office! Harvinder was such a delight and actually made the passport renewal for my 9 year old twins seamless! The only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is that the hours should be extended, if this office were to open earlier (say 8a or maybe even earlier) it could accommodate passport renewals for kids before school (and their working parents). Since they do not take appts. we arrived at 1pm (after the 12noon-1p lunch break) and we were the first customers, no long line! Try it out for yourself! read more

Probably the most incompetent post office I have EVER been to. I literally came in the last week of October 2016 and requested my mailbox key to my new residence. The nice Asian lady told me it would take a couple of weeks due to the holiday which made sense. Fast forward THREE months later and I came in today and still no key. The employee who assisted me totally agreed that it was absolutely ridiculous that I still do not have my key. Every time I go they go and ask the "manager" and they are very apologetic but still no key. Clearly the manager there is either brand new to his position or simply does not care. It is unfortunate that they do not have customer service feedback and service because those surveys would prevent people from having such a horrible experience as mine. Pray that you never lose your key or never have to ask these clowns for a key because it will take at least three months. Pathetic read more

This review is regarding the passport office. We arrived past 9am on a Friday and as to be expected there was a long line. However, the lady working in the passport office (Ms. Harvinder) was incredibly pleasant, efficient, and professional. Despite being the only one in the office, she worked quickly and came out of the office several times to assure everyone in line she would do everything she could to get to everyone before her mandated noon lunch break. Despite the long wait, I was very pleased with the service provided and for Ms. Harvinder's excellent customer service. read more

RIDICULOUS SERVICE! By far the WORSE experience ever. We moved into our new apt. bldg 3 weeks ago and only because its required to get our key @ this postal office am I still around them. 3 yrs ago we moved into the apt complex and when i cake to pick up the key they gave it to me on the spot no hassle. This time we moved just bldgs so we had to go and get the new mail slot key and first off when i walked in the lady laughed at me when i handed her over the old keys and threw them away saying they no longer need those, i said ok that wasnt necessary but whatever, then she tells me well call you when its ready so i asked her why if last time it was given to me on the spot, she didnt even know how to asnwer me and she wasnt really trying to, she kept hurring me away so as i was filling paperwork she helped another girl and she was having something similar so when the address was given she laughed at that girl too and said the address didnt even exist, so i couldnt take it anymore and asked to speak to the mngr...took awhile...finally comes out and oh boy was I in for something...she looked worse than the other person helping me she didnt even acknowlege me or say how can i help you just simply stared at me like giving me a what do you want look so i told her i just wanted an explanation as to why i had to wait compared to last time, she told me because they changed locks and they didnt know a new tenant had move in so no notice to change etc. etc. etc. so i asked hmm i find that hard to believe..ands he replies what do you find hard to believe that we need to change locks but with the bitchiest look ever and said because i just opened my old mailbox with this old key and theres already someone in there....therefore no lock was changed...she just looked @ me surprised and changed her tone and said oh maybe she requested the lock not be changed (umm ok) & they would get it done wednesday because theyre so busy etc etc. i just wanted to get the hell out of there so said fine wednesday. wednesday came around...nothing....tried calling the office ALL day and no one ever replied...thursday i tried calling ALL day again no one replied...finally called corporate and they couldnt do much so i filed a complaint with them and they said they would send someone to investigate my case and why they dont answer their phones. Right after i hanged up i called the location once again and they FINALLY picked up and the lady tells me the order hasnt been put in till friday! so i said why the hell did the mngr tell me wednesday, she couldnt xplain why but said the order isnt in till tomorrow (friday) and i even heard her ask the mail carrier and he said friday as well...so she said come after 4pm and your key will be ready. My boyfriend went friday at 4:30 and they told him whoever told him it would be ready had misinformed him & that the thing could possibly be done tomorrow because theyre so busy. my boyfriend tried asking why they kept leading us on and making us waste our time & gas and he seemed he was being rushed as well to get out so it was left that on saturday the mail carrier would drop the key off to us...saturday came and nothing....we called the location and some guy started saying they never tell a customer when things will get done because theyre so busy they dont have time to do everything (really?!) and they might get around to it NEXT saturday! WOW WOW i called corporate again to file yet another complaint and the guy on that end gave me another (fremont) # to where i could call them and they would "give me a key" but i had to wait until monday since they arent open on weekends. i called this morning and once again the lady on that end tells me "they misinformed you, you can only do complaints here, i cant help you with anything else" i did yet another complaint...my boyfriend called on his lunch and they assured him the mngr had writte a note himself for the key to be delivered to us at 3pm today to our home. I got a missed call from him so i called him 1 min later and ive been trying to reach him for the past hour with no luck (currently on hold asi type this) AND my boyfriend has been waitin at home for the past hour as well and no one has showed up with our key....to be continued... p.s. too bad i couldnt do no stars read more

The only reason I'm not giving this place 0 stars is because it's technically impossible and that the other staff ( but not including the manager) at this place are great people. However, the manager I could not even comprehend how people like him can even get to that position. I came around 4:30 on a Tuesday, the place was not too busy, maybe about 5 customers. I came there to get help with my mail situation, I moved to SJ recently and I opted to get my mail and my sons mail to my new address, but instead I was getting everyone's mail from my old address not just mines and my son's. I spoke to the manager about my situation and he seem like he did not give a single F****. Excuse my language but my experience here was so upsetting. Before I even get to explain my situation fully he just interrupted me and said "we can't help you, just go online". I told him I could fix my issue online, I had to fill a change of address application manually on paper I had a confirmation number that USPS gave me so I didn't have to pay again. He rudely walked to the back of the Office without letting me finish that I needed two applications for me and my son. He came back with only one application, I told him I needed one for me and my son, he said that there wasn't anymore and walked away without asking me if I needed help with anything else or offer any advice whatsoever. The mail lady next to me saw my frustration with the manager and was good to me, wishing me a good day, she was nice and attentive, unlike the rude manager that didn't offer to find any solutions or guidance. I ended up going online and paying again so I didn't have to deal with that guy again. What's the point of having a manager that is not willing to help the customer's? read more
