This review is for the passport office. Harvinder was very efficient today. I first had tried the one in Willow Glen, where it was unlikely I would have been seen yesterday. So today, I tried something different and waited about an hour before lunchtime at this office. I was able to be seen same-day and the whole process took less time than I thought. Harvinder was very professional and knowledgeable. She also seemed to enjoy helping people which is such a rare trait these days. She is a rarity among government employees for sure. Roberstville Post Office (Branham and Almaden, next to CVS) The sales tactics that are used by the post office are shady and deceptive. We have a little soft package 12.5 oz (under the 13 oz limit for standard mail) going to Santa Clara - maybe 15 miles away. The clerk says "next day" ($17.50). I say, "No, it's just going to Santa Clara". The clerk says, "ok, $5.75". I say fine. The thing is, since it was under 13 oz, I could have sent it for about $3.00 and bought a couple tacos across the street. They try to sell you the highest, and warn you that it may take 3 days to get there. Customers get in a rush and rely on the expertise of the clerks. You get fleeced if you are not challenging them on each facet of the transaction. The clerk should tell the customer that they are under 13 oz, which qualifies for standard mail. They should also ask you if you need tracking (Priority Mail). Instead, they start at the highest product (Overnight) and shock you with that price. Then the price they want you to accept isn't so bad sounding. You have to believe that the employees watch training videos and do mock presentations and simulations. The customer leaves, feeling they have just been had. A little bit of a sting. read more

This is for passport service. Few things to note: -They open at 9am on weekdays and are closed on weekends. -They have a sign up sheet. You have to sign up per application form. -We went on a tuesday at 730 am and we were 2nd in line. At 9am, there were about 8 people in total. Not sure if thats the usual crowd though. May be we got lucky. - If you have a baby / infant, you can get the photo taken at the postal annex nearby. This office does not click pics for infants/baby. They did take the photo of my 5 year old . - Also, do not print application form back to back. Best if you fill out the ones they give at the office.Fill it out in black pen. - Have a check book and credit card. Special mention: Harvinder is great. We had to fill out the right forms, take photos etc. She was really nice to us and suggested quick workaround to get the job done. You are in great hands!! read more

I came to this post office to get our passports. I was trying for a couple Saturdays at the post office in Eastridge but never was able to beat everyone there. I showed up here 8:45 a and there was already a line, some were there as early as 3:30 a. They only take 30 applicants a day. I made it to #23. If your not the first 20, then you have to come back at 1p. It took about 20min each person varying on how big their families were. I highly recommend you have your pics taken already & in hand, along with all needed paperwork. You must have a money order/checkbook to pay the Dept. of State and credit card to pay the $25 post office fee. The worker there, named Marylou Gaspar was very nice and answered everyone questions. The only suggestion it that they should have chairs lined up on the side for at least the kids and the elderly to sit on read more

This is for the passport service inside this post office. I had to renew my kids' passport today. This facility doesn't accept appointments anymore and it's first come first served basis. They are open from 9am to 3pm but only accept only 25 applicants per day . We got there at 8:20AM and there was a sign up list. We were 2nd or 3rd in line. The line moved pretty quickly and was able to get out by 9:20. Overall, the service was pretty straight forward and courteous. The lady who helped us was Harvinder. It was awesome experience. I have read the review and about on help and Harvinder on help and decide for this passport. She is really helpful and awesome in services. I remember , system was down for some time, she came out to tell everyone and start validation next person application to save the time. I went there at 7 am to write my name. I was 10th in the list. Came here at 7am on a Friday (office opens at 9am) only to find out the list had been filled as early as 530am! I don't understand why there is only one person who works on passport processing. This is ridiculous! Desperate to get my passport done today, I tried calling USPS locations outside the south bay. I called the main Redwood City post office on Broadway. A kind lady told me there was an opening at 2:15pm that same day!!! Arrived at 2, was seen at 2:25 and finished by 3pm. There was a delay due to shortage of staff that day, but I was lucky enough to get a same day appointment. Other locations were booked 2-4 months in advance and good luck with trying to even get someone to answer the phone! read more

This review is for the passport services. This was a miserable experience. We arrived at noon on a Tuesday and waited in line for 3 hours. We get to the front of the line at 2:30 only to find out they were done processing applications for the day at 2:30 not the 3 PM as stated on their door. We came back the next day at 7:30AM (they open at 9) and had 3 people in front of us. We didn't not finish until after 11:30 so basically they processed 4 families in 2.5 hours. This is worse than the DMV. Pack a chair and your patience and wrote your congressman. Got services that are revenue generating this is ridiculous. read more

I have to say I had an amazing experience at this post office today. I was applying for my passport and Harvinder that was taking care of everyone's paperwork was just incredible. Not only was she efficient with everyone's paperwork but she was courteous, polite and just what can I say amazing. Normally you go somewhere and get frustrated with how people treat you but Harvinder was effectively positive with the process that everyone waiting was talking about how fast and good she is. I have gone to the Willow Glen office which I heard people being upset and treated poorly for the passport application but I'm just happy I went to Branham location. I really like this place. And not being my mother used to work here, but I do like the layout of the parking lot. Sometimes if you go inside, getting out of your spot can be a pain. When there in person, the staff is pretty great. Just don't try calling for help. They will let the phone ring, pick up to just hang up on you and when they do answer, they will place you on hold till you hang up. Called to follow up on a missing/delayed package, got hung up at least three times. Once someone finally picked up, I briefly told them about my missing package, the lady at the other end asked if I had tracking number, I started giving her the number when she stops me and says "I have to prepare my computer". 20 minutes later, I just hang up because I had to return to work. Wasted my lunch on terrible service. Again, this come as a surprise since they are all very polite in person. Will try different avenues to find a solution to my missing mail. read more

I'm supposed to receive a Pkg. by noon (24 Hr) guaranteed delivery. It's 3:30pm and have been trying to call them to pick it up myself. It's perishable homemade goods from my daughter. They won't pick up phone! Afraid to leave house to pick-up Pkg. myself, in case they deliver late this afternoon. Unreliable and unprofessional. I just want to know if its really there! Be persistent they will let the phone ring until you get mad and hang up. Then when you finally get a hold of someone they'll give you an attitude, as if it's your fault you have no other option picking up certain types of packages. Never had a good experience with the post office, EVER! read more

We came here to process 5 passport applications. We did not realize how close we were to closing. However Harvinder accommodated us. As expected, we did go past the closing time, but Harvinder kept going and processed all of our applications while be polite and calm. If you find yourself needing to process a passport application do her a favor and be aware of the office hours account for sometime for the paperwork. Although she needs to close on time, Harvinder is the the type of person to always accommodate you. read more

I hate their service they give my mail to different people from where I live, they don't pay attention to what they do, your mail is very important and also very important information from you and your family that need to be more careful when they deliver the mail, there was a time when we had to go and pick our mail at the post office they took a long time to put the new mail boxes and they didn't even told us about, I am very unhappy with them they also keep on sending me letters from people that doesn't live at my apartment is very disappointing! read more

i have mixed feelings. the workers i've encountered have been very friendly, but they dropped the ball when it came to changing the mail key for my client. it took us two visits to get this done, as the first woman said she put the paperwork in, but apparently this was never done. they took their time making a new key, by then there was a months worth of forwarded mail piled up. it was frustrating, because bills were not being received, and they would not give us the mail while we were waiting for the paperwork for the key to be processed. they said they'd contact us when the key was ready, but they did not do so. my understanding is that apartment managers usually initiate the process to change the key when new tenants move in, but this particular manager told us it was up to us. we also asked a woman at the desk if the stamp rate was going up, and she told us that no one had informed them of this, even though we went home and looked it up online, and the rate was going up a month from then. but i don't begrudge her this, i know the usps is kind of a mess of a bureaucracy. read more

Im convinced that post office workers enjoy making you dance just to say no. I went to this post office. They were closed but I was hoping there would be some flate rate envelopes in the kiosk. There were none. i looked through the door and saw one of the employees restocking the one on the inside of the lobby whnere you normally get service if they were open. I made eye contact with her thinking she would see my desperation and open the door and give me a few envelopes. She just blew me off and walked away. Two words...FED-EX..lol read more

I have been going here for a few years and I usually have great service. During the holidays there are longer lines, but the staff is always friendly and willing to assist you in any way possible. To get an "adult" passport for our 16-year old son was harder than anticipated but this post office and Harvinder made it easy! We called around other locations many many times, trying to get an appointment. After getting numerous run-arounds, they kept asking us to call back at a certain date and time; then, different reps answered and contradicted what was said before. As a result after two months, we decided to do the walk-in at this location. They have a sign-in sheet, we later found out; so we didn't have to wait in line when we were there at 7:30. We also learned that the sign-in sheet is placed the night before, so -- no more "camping" at the post office to get a passport! read more

I wouldn't ever recommend anyone to get a passport here. The associate name Harrvinder was very rude and upset. Seems like she isn't fit for the job, was told by a shift supervisor name Donald. That she has had many complaints this week and prior to her work history their. Like why work there if your angry, bitter, upset about something.I didn't even ask about your problems, why you couldn't get off on time even though you said it only takes ten minutes to process a passport. But it's 2:45pm and your helping someone else. I understand we all have a life I get that but your technically not off till your done helping the customer so it would have been past 3? Don't you think so?you close at 3 but you don't tell a customer that you can't help them I am disabled/ have a disability I was about to ask a simple question and got a response we're closing I can't help you this is my last customer I have to go home at three I have a life and things to do. I didn't ask for all that. I didn't even get to ask my question I told her you don't have to yell at me or give me attitude I understand you close at 3. I apologize and said I was sorry even though I'm not in the wrong and she said I'm not upset I'm not angry. You can go somewhere else then and talked about me to the other customers she was helping.
