I feel really lucky to have this large post office nearby. The staff is always friendly and there seem to be enough people to get you through the line in a timely manner. My new favorite thing is the post office machine where you can conduct a lot of your business without having to get into the big line I also collect those seasonal Christmas tree ornaments, and this post office has those as well as seasonal stamps and bags that make the season more fun read more

i had used usps for years and years for my small online business. i counted on my nice postmen to pick up my daily packages. this particular day, my husband had to take a break from work to help me drop them off at dalidio office because of the urgency of the order. when i did not see any update on the tracking the next morning i called and talk to HILDA. i asked if she can look around and see if for some reason the package still at the counter. no effort being made except 'oh maybe it didn't get scanned' and 'we dont hold packages here'. so i waited for it to get scanned at the next facility like she suggested. lo and behold the tracking shows acceptance at this facility the next afternoon this is NOT the first time this happens. so i decided to call usps head office to report this so it wont keep happening the supervisor that calls me, JANAE, which i had known for years, getting very nasty and confrontational and even accusing me calling her a liar??? i suggest they listen back to phone conversation instead of taking this constructive criticism, they went ballistic and being defensive because i reporting them and stand/defending their own. finally i have to ask to talk to another supervisor EVAN. telling me that eventhough the tracking shows accepted the next day, its probably happened when the next facility (santa clarita) scanned it (still puzzled by how their scanning system works. usually with fedex/ups is pretty straight forward. the location shown is the location where they scan the packages) i dropped 2 packages that day only one had issue VERY BAD experience & customer service. considering i did not report it sooner when it happened a few times before in the past i will definitely use fedex or ups for urgent package in the future. much more reliable. the stress this caused me with the customer! not to mention the nasty tone i got from JANAE i like the downtown post office much better. Just had to run in and drop off 3 birthday cards in the slot. This was on a Friday. One to WA, one to SD, one to IL. A week later, only IL made it. Rude supervisor would bot give me their name, put the phone down the next time, I finally got them to give me the name of the postmaster Mark Martinez if they are indeed telling the truth. Person who refused to give name says they don't work for the public when in fact they do. The USPS as stated is an agency of the federal government. Clean and easy to find parking. Unfortunately not great customer service. I have a PO Box here. I had a packaged marked as delivered on Monday at noon. Came in around 5pm on Monday and the staff informed me the package was not available yet, but to come back Tuesday after 12pm and collect it. Came in Tuesday around 3:15pm. No package. Customer service person suggested I come back everyday to check if it's been delivered. They couldn't provide an estimate for when the package would be available. They didn't offer a USPS tracking number or a different way to check on package status. Pretty frustrating and very unhelpful. read more

We are changing address and also expecting an important mail. We went to the post office more than five times to talk to the supervisor and the employees to confirm the address change, also submitted the request online. Finally the mail came, but got returned to sender immediately (2hours in between) saying "addressee unknown". Now we are in the endless waiting for the sent back mail "moving through network". They said this is systemic error, the mail person is doing his job. Probably we should invite the post office to my new home for dinner and introduce our family to them to avoid the "systematics error". Additional one start is added for a lot of people who helped me (beyond their responsibilities) during the process. Super frustrating. Big pressure they caused to all of my family. read more

I just want to give a huge shout out for FERNANDO G. in Customer Service - for his down to earth & easy going nature - making me feel at ease while he easily tracked down my missing package and went above and beyond to locate the drivers gps - contacting him to return to my address and drop off the undelivered mail. I have always had just terrible experiences when calling USPS customer service or any department on the the phone - due to the lack of care or help and transfer after transfer. I submitted a change of address form to be started the first week of May. It is August and I have received about three pieces of forwarded mail. I have been to two post office offices in SLO and I have tried to find out why. I have been to their offices a minimum of six times trying to straighten this out with zero results. No one loves standing in line at the post office. That being said, the downtown location of the post office in SLO does as fair job of making the pains of it virtually non existant. They truly work hard, in my experience, to expedite the process. Parking isn't bad if you use the back lot either. read more

Really great staff at this post office! Everyone is very friendly, helpful, and do their best to help you find the cheapest shipping options. The parking lot can be a pain during busier times (mornings and after work). A lot of people try to park closer to the door and I've been stuck behind cars on multiple occasions waiting for people to pull out when there's plenty of spots available. read more

My husband and I put a vacation hold on our mail when we went out of town. The post office lost our mail! This is the first time anything like this ever happened. I have called several times, even talked to the Postmaster. However, after talking to her the first time, she has been out of the office each time I call. Of course, no one else can help me. We do pay taxes to fund the USPS. I expect better customer service than this. Update- 8/8/17... finally got our held mail today-- more than a week late. It's the post office, it's not like you have many other options as far as mailing things. As far as this particular post office, it's busy most of the time so you have to know what you're doing before you go in. Suggestions: 1. use the automated postal service box located in the lobby--you can use it whether the PO is open or closed and it charges the same amount 2. have your forms filled out before you get in line 3. if you have a printer and scale or are using a PO issued box (FREE) print your postage from home, the postage is a tiny bit cheaper 4. use the flat rate boxes (FREE) when shipping APO, overseas, or anything heavy 5. bring your own TAPE, they're stingy and won't give you any even if you can in fact see some on their counter read more

I had to go back into this post office to retrieve a package that wasn't delivered. I see things haven't changed. The customer service still sucks. The staff are all still rude and act like you are putting them out by asking them to do their job! I had one clerk tell me I was 'disturbing her coffee break'...are you for real?! Multiple times they have left packages in the parcel box without putting the key in the appropriate box, but just leaving the key in the parcel box for anyone to steal. I, and the apartment supervisor has contacted them several times about this and it continues to happen. Today I called about it happening again and the guy just argued with me saying that the carrier told him (after he contacted her and got back with me) that she was 100% sure she left the parcel locker key in the appropriate box and that he had to believe her . . . even though I told him that this happens a LOT. He would not even consider or acknowledge that a mistake had been made. I was so very angry, which is a pet peeve of mine, when people can't acknowledge that they screwed up. Bad, bad customer service! Really left me feeling very upset that no care was even offered that my important package was just left in a parcel box with the key in it. Shame on them!!! read more

Ok SLO-whats going on? Saturday deliveries have turned into the below. Does your team in SLO need help in working together and figuring out a better process? I mention this because the USPS is a staple of our society and I only want to see it be successful. You have had access to our delivery location for at least 6 years FYI. This post office is exceptionally professional, courteous and prompt. I have been to a lot of shipping offices, be it UPS, FedEx, or others and this post office stands head and shoulders above them. I give this post office 1 star and here's why: I live in an apartment and apparently the shipper did not add my unit number to the package, so the courier did not deliver the package. The status of said package was never updated after the failed delivery attempt, so I called this post office to get an update. The lady I talked to, Alex, insisted that my package had already been delivered 2 days prior to my phone call. I told her it was not and I am sure of that, but she kept insisting. 3 phone calls and much stress later, they told me that they found my package and it had not, in fact, been delivered as Alex had insisted. I went to the post office to pick it up, where Alex promptly reprimanded me for not placing a unit number on the shipping address and for calling more than once; she essentially implied the entire ordeal was my fault. I told her I was sorry for inconveniencing her and said I only wanted my package so I could leave. She was very rude and unprofessional, and left me with negative feelings. Frankly, I would never have received nor found my package if I was not persistent. This post office has rude staff and unprofessional services.
