Post offices in general are just shamefully horrible with their bad hours, bad service, and none of my express packages ever get there on time, at least they refund you back. I don't like to give a review of 3 stars when I find the PO service invaluable, but, I do travel and use the yellow card-Authorization to Hold Mail & for 1 yr, my mail is crammed into the box & crumpled. One time I had to tear the mail to pull it out of the box. I have requested that I would pick up the mail, but yet it gets put into the box. Let's make this a great PO location! read more

9/13/2023. I moved to Silverthorne from Ft. Lauderdale and applied for a P.O. Box the end of August & was told by the clerk people have been waiting since July to be issued a box. Went in on Monday to mail a pkg and asked if there are any updates on a box. The same clerk picked up a large envelope filled with applications & showed me they are all sitting there. I asked if I can call someone to ask why no one is working on this & he said Denver has to take care of it and Denver sucks. Guess I have to sit & wait until who knows when, so I can put in a change of address to forward my mail from FL. Wow, this is awful! Can anyone HELP with this??? read more

it says on the post office web site they are opened from 9-5, but actually they close for lunch. (which is not stated on the web site). although the employees make every effort to be as helpful as they can, the business itself is totally unacceptable and that is an understatement. sadly, most all big businesses pubiic and private have adopted similar behaviors to produce higher profits for the principals, but have become worse for the employees in both pay and benefits. further they have started having fewer employees than they need for professional service, less training, and larger work loads for the few employees. I have read this from major nationally accredited legitimate journalists, I've been told by employees and have personally experienced it myself as a customer. read more

seriously the worst post office. i have yet to order something off amazon and it not get sent back. they lost 2 packages of mine over the holidays, blamed me for "not knowing when it was supposed to arrive" and then they showed up a month later. advised me not to get mail sent to my door but couldn't give me a reason why it wouldn't get sent to my door. they're just super unreliable and not very nice. but like come on. i cant get amazon packages delivered?? ridiculous. read more

I wish there were a no star review. I have lived here 18 years and Mary has ruined this post office, not that it was EVER stellar, but now she is like a sloth that hates life and herself. You can be guaranteed to waste your schedule by, god forbid, having a letter/package in the bowels of the backroom. And don't even think of forgetting your pathetic copied version of a "Delivery Notice" (they don't even use the pink ones any longer), the sloth is "too busy" to go look for it. I have chuckled to myself at all the people Mary has, for lack of a better word, pissed off with her sloth-like behavior. I too, my friends have been in your shoes. I almost put a lein on a client's property because this PO lost his check TWICE. Mary's lack of sympathy and better yet, her inability to take responsibility for any late, lost, or torn mail is inexcuseable. She, to many CUSTOMERS, has in a dead pan voice, but NOT making eye contact, said, "You need to contact the shipper and tell them they sent the package to the wrong address." (This is a common issue with this post office.) Even if you have lived here longer than most of the employees, they just seem to not be able to remember, cross-reference, or find it in their hearts, to link your physical address with your po box. It is physically and mentally impossible for this outfit. I don't think Mary realizes in her slothy mind, how many people dislike, no, not strong enough, have no respect for her outside her protected work place. She really needs to be fired from her job to be taken out of the miserable state she seems to be wrapped up in. How in the world does someone like this have a job? Sympathy tenure should not be a reason to keep Ms. Sloth on a counter job. There are many jobless people who can do what she does. Those who have the muscles on their face to smile, twinkles in their eye, and a warm heart to care, and who would love to share the hapiness when someone receives a package, a love letter, or check in the mail. I just moved to this town from california. The first thing i have to do is to move all my billing address. For a new resident here, i was so surprised the customer service this post office offer. I went there today, monday oct 2nd around 1.30 ish. There was only 1 guy. He was so rude, no greetings, no smiling, even when we say thank you he never replies. He looks like someone that don't want to be there. Please , usps you need a better customer service. How come you put someone that you can see from his face, they way he talks , that he is really unwelcome. I am new here, is it how everybody treat others here? Please we need so much nicer people. By looking at that guy makes me scared looking at this town. I hope he is the only one that has attitude like that in this town. The city where i came from, everybody always greets everyone nicely. This is the worst post office I have ever dealt with in my entire life. They are fucking ass holes and have no care whatsoever about the customer. They lost my birth certificate, my social security card, and my tax information. And whenever I have something come through this post office to be delivered to me in frisco, it sits in that post office for 3 or 4 days. WHY? All the other reviews say it perfectly - This is the worst Post Office in the country. Go to Dillon at all costs. If you can get a free box in Silverthorne, but would have to pay in Dillon - GO TO DILLON! I purposely included my street address along with my PO Box because I didn't know how the vendor was going to ship. The Post Office in Silverthorne refused delivery for improper address!!! They can't take an extra second to look at an address?? This has happened so often, if something is addressed to my street address they won't deliver and of course UPS won't deliver to a PO Box. Now it iscosting me $5 to have it reshipped, it won't get here in time for Christmas and I'm still not guaranteed that it will be delivered!~ This is truly the worst post office I have ever dealt with. read more

Unfortunately my review is the same as the gentleman from two years ago. The employees have a bad attitude, they repeatedly lose mail (marked as undeliverable and sent back to shipper), and will never go out of their way to assist a customer. The most recent incident involved a time sensitive package. I received notification it arrived on the 7th and ready for pickup. I stopped by on the 8th and was suprised there wasnt a notification slip in my po box. I proceeded to the counter and provided the tracking number only to have them tell me it wasnt there. (This has happened before). I was polite, but insisted they look for the package. After much complaining to my face one of the workers found the package and admitted their person that sorts the packages wrote down the wrong po box number. If this happened once or twice I could forgive and forget, but this has happened multiple times now. Summarize...bad attitude, poor quality of work, and lack of organization. Im closing my po box and moving it to Dillon. read more

Why can't you leave zero stars? This place doesn't deserve even one. They say packages are available for pickup when they aren't causing you to wait in the HUUUUUGE line. Later tracking says delivered but its not in my box neither is a card so thanks a lot. I called them and some rude bitch answered the phone and yelled at me saying they were closed and to come back monday and wait in another HUUUUUGE line. This post office is worthless. The woman's name is Mary. I just had the unfortunate experience of dealing with her on the phone. I've seen her before and she's always been rude, but this was just over the top. I called to ask a simple question about a package that I thought was delivered there. She cut me off after every word and then finally very abruptly said "hold on"...this was before I could even give her any useful information like my name or the tracking number, so I'm not sure what I was on hold for. After 7 minutes of waiting, I hung up and called Frisco instead. They were extremely helpful and friendly!! read more

If only the post master would make themselves available to discuss how frustrating it is to work with the union government employees that have zero skills or ability to be customer service oriented. I've been dealing with this post office for years as I'm forced to receive my mail here rather than at my own residence. I've never received such terrible customer service anywhere. Mail is delivered consistently late or not delivered at all, employees are rude and act put out every time you ask for help finding the mail/packages they lost. I do not even have enough time to go into the terrible, rude service I've consistently had from this post offices employees. They seriously need to get new employees in there that appreciate having a decent paying government job with great benefits and hours who treat others with common courtesy! read more

I am not from around here, so have never before used this PO but the service was efficient and the Postal employee, Michelle, was personable, funny, and fast. Another Christmas without gifts from the family, as again this year, the Silverthorne Post office returned several of my packages. It seems that when they get busy, it's much easier to stamp incorrect address and return the package than actually delivering it. My packages were correctly addressed but returned. They cannot provide an explanation for this behavior but it's a regular occurrence when dealing with this post office. Horrible service year around. read more

My husband and I moved to Silverthorne from out of state mid-July. Prior to the move we were told by Mary, at the Silverthorne Post Office what was necessary to obtain a post office box--the ONLY way we could receive mail. FOUR different days we went to this post office trying to obtain a box. We were told "none til next Wed." That Wednesday, we returned and were told "no boxes! Come next Wednesday." Again, we returned and were told they hadn't "released" any boxes and we'd just have to wait. My husband walked out exasperated but I tried to find out the reasons: "too busy to release boxes; understaffed; first priority is to get the first-class mail delivered"....I explained that until I had a box, my own first-class mail could NOT be forwarded NOR could I prove my residency to register my car; obtain a driver's license; do anything where I needed proof of residency. I think 2 weeks was MORE than sufficient to wait to obtain a box so I could simply have my mail delivered! Mary told me she was staying 2 hours over on Saturday to "release boxes" and I should come on Monday to get my box. Guess what? Monday - still NO boxes! Again, too busy and understaffed; first-class customers get priority...the lady behind me jumped to my defense and said "what about HER first class mail she's waiting to have forwarded??" They don't care. Rude, horrible customer service people both Mary and the male clerk....I had enough. We went to Dillon and paid for a box; they didn't have any either, but went out of their way to obtain one for us on the spot. I will never walk into that horrible post office again. If I did my job they way they do theirs, I'd be fired on the spot. AND I normally like postal employees! This is a first for me! Lynn Egger read more
