Just one of many *crammed in* items over the years.

Yet ANOTHER *stupendous* delivery by this post office. Get your act together and DO BETTER. You tear up my magazines and crush my boxes. STOP IT!!!

Every time I come here, there's always a long line. However, the staff is always kind and tries their best to get everyone in and out. I came in because of a lost/stolen package and to see if the package got sent back here. The guy who helped me was the supervisor. I explained to him that I got the notification from the tracking code that my package was delivered to the mailbox. So I went to to my mailbox, got the key in there and was about to open the parcel locker where my package was placed. However, the locker was already opened and empty. The supervisor went in the back to check if it's there, but unfortunately it was not. He told me the mailman might have put the wrong key in my mailbox and to check later that day. He wrote down my name and number too. Later that evening I still have not located the package and did not receive a call. So I went back the following week about it and the lady told me there's nothing they could do except take down my information again. I was also given a number to call and report so they can investigate the situation, but only after 30 days have past. I feel like whoever got my package is not going to return it because it was worth $140 and the post office is not going to believe I never got the package. I just wish there was an easier way to get a refund when we had an idea of where the mistake was. I know the mailman delivers a lot of mail/packages in a day, but they need to make sure they are delivering the correct things to everyone.

The older woman is THE WORST. Rude and has to be the most picky and difficult about each transaction. The bald guy is really nice.

Honestly I have been dreading going in and over the past year have rescheduled my appointment over ten times. I finally forced myself to go and I'm so glad I did and I'm so glad I chose to go to the Vassar location again. Making the appointment on line is incredibly easy, they open at exactly 9am which was my appointment time, my name was called first, the woman that helped me was very to the point and matter of fact but pleasant which is exactly what you want in these types of interactions. The whole process only took 7 minutes! It was so easy and painless, I can't believe how long I procrastinated. I do highly recommend going on line and doing your research. Pre-fill out the forms (I completed to types of forms since I wasn't exactly sure which one would be needed), bring the necessary documents and copies and it will be easy. They also took one of the best pictures of me, which was very appreciated! Thank you passport service worker at Vassar!!

Nooooo! It is a funny this having a local "Main Post Office." I was born in Los Angeles, grew up…read morewith post office only mail service in Incline Village (no local mail routes), and went to college and high school in San Diego. So, I have seen having to rely on a post office for ALL mail services, long lines on the last tax night, supersized mail hubs, and everything in between. Mail and many postal services have taken a passenger/back seat to e-mail, on-line bill pay & billing, and services like FedEx and UPS with their own local stores. The USPS it is still an important part of getting mail, ballots, bills, magazines, ads, benefits and packages. Trusted locals for sorting and post marking is still needed for aging Americans along with the sense security that it provides. Locally the USPS carriers are very competent at home delivery. The post offices are clean, productive and mostly friendly. Quite a bit of the speed, local knowledge, and professionalism goes away if "Operations" are moved to Sacramento or beyond. There is a reason our Amtrac office is not even a though on most peoples mind in Reno. We are the forgotten train stop between actual Train Stations between Sacramento and Denver. Not to mention that there are 100's of great paying local jobs that disappear when they "streamline" operations. I understand the business model needs to change to keep the service alive but maybe we could cut back in areas of the country that haven't doubled in population every 10 years.

**One of the most unresponsive and indifferent USPS locations I've ever dealt with.**…read more This Reno USPS branch has shown a blatant disregard for its customers and basic responsibilities. Despite having a mail hold in place, they continued to deliver mail while we were out of town, leaving our mailbox overflowing and creating a significant security risk. We even left clear signs inside our mailbox about the mail hold, but they ignored them and crammed mail right past the notice. Adding to the frustration, our Change of Address (COA) has been handled just as poorly. We've used USPS forwarding services in the past without issue, but this location has turned a simple process into an expensive, exhausting ordeal. The staff is unhelpful and, frankly, irreverent. Communication is nonexistent, and any effort to resolve issues is met with complete apathy. Customer service and professionalism are clearly not priorities here. If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid this location at all costs. Don't get me wrong, all USPS locations are pretty bad but their incompetence and blatant disregard for basic mail-handling standards at this location are really next level. I'll admit: I don't often find myself aligning with the Trump administration, but if there's one area of overlap, it's the tiny sliver of my views that says privatizing USPS might not be such a bad idea. If you've had a terrible experience with this location, I highly recommend submitting a formal complaint to the USPS Office of Inspector General.
