Ambiance - Huge location, including the parking lot. Service - Okay. Mostly self service. Well today the line was crazy long?!?! See pictures. Open 5.5 days. Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm; and on Saturday from 10am to 1pm. They are closed on Sundays. Services available at this location - Financial services (money orders, etc), passport, pickup services (mail hold, etc), business services, biometric services (fingerprint, in person proofing), etc. Price - Affordable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1971 (formed in Washington DC) with your $80B in revenue. Much controversy about your profitability or lack of it. This is an "independent" agency of the executive branch of our US government. You have an amazing history dating back to 1775, but I will not go into that here.

Maybe they should do that in the back when there are 20 people waiting in line. Finally another person comes to help. Both clerks in the back for 10+ minutes. They don't answer their phones during business hours, they don't have a way to leave voice mail, and they like to return your packages without notice and with a useless error code ("wrong address"). Horrible, bad, awful, terrible, useless. I'm so furious right now I'd vote for whichever candidate offers to defund USPS. --- BUT, after going inside I met Terry (90% sure that was his name). And Terry gets 5 stars all to himself. USPS was returning my packages left and right and every person at USPS - this store and the main office - told me 500 different reasons for why it was happening, but no one had a clue how to fix it and most said it couldn't be done and I was just screwed. Terry the savior gave me a form the size of half-sheet of paper, told me to write down 3 things (name, address, and signature) and he'd fix it all. AND HE CAME THROUGH. Packages arrive, mail arrives, all is well. Terry gets 5 stars, the phone services and rest of the office gets -1, so it averages out to 2 stars. They should give Terry control of the office and fire anyone who answers the phone. Or maybe I'll hire him.

Also, it would be VERY helpful if people would learn to use online services. I NEVER have to go in there. Print postage on line, if not from USPS.com then from a third party FREE account (search, you'll find it). Arrange for package pick up at my house. Have a cluster box so that I don't need to go the PO all the time. If you don't have a cluster box in your neighborhood or complex--request one! The reason I'm reviewing today....lately I've had packages mis-delivered, also packages that are too large stuffed into the slot, making them difficult to get out (used to be they would bring the larger packages to the house) AND three days in a row I've requested a pick up (never failed in the past) and the packages are still sitting there. Been trying to call the post office, it just rings and rings. Something is different, in the last couple of months and I don't think it's the holiday rush. Something else.

I'm forced to order another one hopefully this time it shows up. bank said they mailed it in October never got it! it's now November and I can't get money from my account thanks to the crap delivery post office we have. I had a disabled friend stay with me for a few months and the post office refused to deliver mail to her. she had a stroke paralyzed half her body and they made her come to the post office in the cold of winter in her electric cart in order to get her mail. they insisted we mark the in-law quarter as a separate address. Which would make it a rental and it is not a rental. She stayed there for free as a favor for a few months. Went to talk to the manager at the post office about it and he was absolutely rude. He literally called me a liar when the postal lady refused to deliver the address mail to our address. this post office needs new leadership and glasses for the postal carrier who is delivering my mail to other peoples address. This time it affect me where I can't access my account with my debit card! Sure I can go to the bank, but with my working schedule graveyard shift banks open from 9 to 4 that would leave me three hours of sleep.. this post office needs to be investigated for the inability to do their job correctly!

We stopped in a couple of times and nobody could be sure why they were not ready to give to us yet. Today we stopped in and Kim took my number, then proceeded to call me and tell me that the reason nobody could figure out what was going on was that the owner of the building already had our keys!! It just made my day to have a postal service employee take the time and interest to get this resolved and then follow thru with us. Thank you Kim!!

In the attempt to move our worldly possessions to places like northern Michigan and Alaska, moving companies charge in the tens of thousands. We've made some tough compromises and left a lot here, sold some stuff and mailed the rest. It ends up being a fraction of the cost of a mover. The good people at the Minden P.O. never complain, always bend over backwards for us. Even last month when we brought in 14 boxes of our junk for them to process. They were so obliging that they even suggested a less expensive way to send it. One of the fellows in the back lent us a hand truck to being the boxes in from our car. That was a Godsend. In the couple dozen experiences we've had at this branch, we have never been disappointed! 11/23

I just had a card sent, it was opened, the items taken, then taped back up. They weren't even smart crooks, I would have disposed of the mail all together then send something empty.
