This post office is terrible. It literally took 45 minutes to pick up a package that they were supposed to deliver and failed. A very long line of confused customers (half of whom weren't even in the right line) and a couple of agents that were terribly inefficient and slow. One agent really struggled with her English. I feel sorry for those poor elderly customers who could not hear/understand a word from what she was garbling. If you cannot speak English don't take this job! Lack of efficiency in this rotten organization is astonishing. USPS will be history soon, a demise of their own making. read more

Terrible post office. They are one of the few locations that offer a passport services without appointment, but it's a complete $hi# show to the point where it's almost useless for them to have services without appointments. I show up on a Saturday at 8:30am. Location opens at 10am but I had previously heard it was first come first serve so I wanted to get there early. I show up and there is only about 7 people in line. I hover around and wait until 10am only to find out that they gave out all the tickets at 6:30am. Once 10am rolled around everyone that had shown up at 6am came back to get their spot. I'm not upset that I wasn't helped. I was upset that I waited an hour and a half when they could have posted a sign or something informing people of their "list" I show up again on a Tuesday since I had previously heard that weekday weren't as bad. It was just as bad.. I show up at 1pm and they won't give me the time of day because they go on lunch at 1:30pm. The employees won't even come out to talk to me. They sent another applicant who was inside to come out and tell me to come back after lunch. I come back after lunch and they tell me that the the list is full.. At this point I'm once again confused as to why they wouldn't tell me that the first time around instead of telling me to come back after lunch. I politely ask the employees if I could get a ticket for tomorrow. They rudely tell me no and tell me to get there an hour before opening. I go on to tell them that I tried that previously but that they are not consistent with when the tickets are given out. She says " Well to bad, make an appointment." I go on to tell her that there isn't an appointment for 3 weeks online. Her response "not my problem " In my opinion, they they should list on the website that they only help 4 people per hour and they only take 20 people a day. This was something that multiple employees told me. If it's such common knowledge amongst the employees, I don't see why they don't list that online. I also don't understand why if this is such a big issue they don't do more to fix it. The employees here are beyond jaded and they don't treat customers with respect. read more

A few months ago, I went into this post office to report that my car registration had never been delivered. I had received an email with a pic of my registration. 2 weeks passed and I never got it. I waited for over an hour to speak with a supervisor. Nobody ever came. Instead I wasted an hour of my time. I was told to come back another time to speak to a supervisor. This is the worst place to go for any passport services . There are 2 people that are VERY RUDE to customers including the female manager . I had all my paper work ready and photo copies of everything. They refused to take it because I had no proof of travel . To start off I had mailed in my previous application which was a renewal in May via USPS. We are now in August and still no passport . I had a e-mail from my original application stating that USPS lost it. I am not traveling but redoing everything since USPS lost my original application . Filled in the form on the website, printed it and took photos. Walked to the office on 6/9/2019 at 9:50am and took a spot in the line. Office opened at 10am and it was only one passport officer on duty. Everyone took tickets and I was number 26. Majority people came in for renewal. The officer told he wouldn't not process blue colored blanks because they are used for self service i.e. no need to apply in person. Everyone started filling in yellow blanks and some people left. The officer processes only 3 applicants within first hour. Unacceptable waste of taxpayers money. Why not set up self-service computers with internet access and add one more officer to guide through application process online? People will learn and won't waste paper and time of others. read more

I don't typically write reviews for USPS locations, but I gotta say, this post office is probably the best one I've been to in a long time. The clerks are super nice and aren't rude compared to the clerks at other USPS locations. I came in to send some outgoing mail and to purchase some stamps. Mitchel, the clerk who helped me, was super nice to me. He gladly showed me the options he had and didn't seem to grumble about it. Typically, at other locations, the clerks tend to get all annoyed at me when I purchase stamps or request extra services for the items I'm mailing out. Read This And Navigate The Dilemma As you have read in countless reviews there are long lines and often it sells out prior to the official opening time of 10 AM Tips 1. If you must go in the morning before work DO NOT go on Friday, Saturday or Monday. There are always long lines because people try to do it as part of the weekend - go on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. 2. They give out 50 tickets a day, they notify you that they spend an average of 15 minutes with each person - do show up with your forms ready, ID, photos, checkbook (no credit cards) - if your not ready when they call you you get differed and have to wait longer 3. Don't be a chump and show up with all of the other sheep between 430 and 6 because you will literally be waiting all morning and into the afternoon, I showed up at 245 AM (yes it sucks) and I was out of there 20 minutes after they open 4. The sign says they open at 10 AM but they opened at 8 AM, the ladies are super nice that work there, please be nice back - their job sucks I think and they do it every day 5. If you cannot show up early then another strategy that the ladies said works, after around 2 pm they have usually gone through the whole list - since they put up a sign saying "totally full" people leave BUT if you come after they are through the list you can just sail in All in all I showed up early but had my (1) chair, (2) headphones and IPad and (3) blanket so I was in great shape - thank you to the previous reviews Happy Adventures! read more

I am going to be descriptive because I know that it can be helpful. 1. The place opens at 10am disregard the web site. 2. Get there are 7:00am-8:00am at the latest. 3. Charge your mobile/tablet, bring a book or friends, the wait is LONG. 4. Make sure you bring original Birth Certificates, Old, current Passport, and ID's. Arrive early because this place only allows 30-40 people per day, no matter what. They go by family, not individual, so they will look at your party as one. Arrive at 7am or 8am. You will see a line. If you are in line, basically you just wait wait wait until you finally get to the door and allowed inside. Once inside you are safe, but not from the dam frustration of waiting. When you go inside after like three hours of waiting inside you continue on the same line in back of the same people for hours until one agent, yes, one agent reviews each group's file, that is why it takes such a long time. It is one person. Again... once you reach inside. You continue on in a line until you finally see an agent that will review your stuff and then give you a number. What is the wait from this point? LONG! You are looking at least 3 hours possibly 4 hour wait from the time you see the agent. After you see the agent and given a number you just wait inside for 3 to 4 hours because only one person is reviewing the orders and stuff, taking payments and providing the oaths for your passports. Once you are called it is usually 15 minutes or so, make payment and pledge oath. Yes and No's Yes you can pay with debit, check or credit card. Yes you can purchase the passport pictures once inside waiting frustrating NO BATHROOMS, nearest is one block away at Starbucks. Yes you are allowed to leave for a breather or go grab some food or go to bathroom. NO charging stations or outlets inside which work, they are none working. YES, bring snacks, food!! YES bring a chair so that you can sit, NOT Stand outside. You will be tired, frustrated and irate of how slow things .. don't let this be news, you know NOW, you will wait HOURS, like 6-7 hours for the whole thing, depending if you are one of the first 10 in line at least at 6-7am. There so many people with hundreds of questions which delays the lines from continuing.. it is nuts.. Also, they have all the forms there, if you mess up or forget your forms, they check-in with you way prior you get to see the agent, so don't fear, you will have the opportunity to get as many forms you need if you mess up or need to get once you are in line near the entrance or inside waiting forever. read more

I JUST moved. I submitted a change of address form on 5/27/17. Our mailman knew we were leaving. I placed an order for my company and forgot to change my address before confirming the order, so once I confirmed the order I changed it. I have checked my tracking for my package and it says undeliverable to SJ address. Return to sender if information is available....... I called the USPS 800 number to get some help and the guy told me that if it was not a first class package it will not be redirected if I have a forwarding address and it will be sent back to the sender. I asked if I could call my local post office for the old address and see if they can stop it and get it to my new address and he said it was worth a shot, gave me the phone number, and said they accept phone calls from 11am to 4pm on Saturdays. My local post office for my old address was the Meridian branch My first phone call was at 1:45pm................. 28 phone calls and over an hour later, still no ****ing answer; still no help with my customer's missing package!!!!!!!!The manager at the Meridian office is garbage. She needs to be fired immediately!!!!! This ***** is the best example of how NOT to be. I am absolutely amazed how this woman got into a leadership role when she knows nothing of customer service. You have to park somewhere a bit far because the parking space near the entrance is usually full. The line was bearable and surprisingly fast. Extremely busy on the weekends... They only take around 40 people the day I came in and wouldn't let anyone else after a certain time to have a number ticket. I waited for 3 hours and it should've been longer but after the lunch break some people came in later so she skipped around 5 people that were ahead of me. The Asian lady was extremely helpful. She did everything as fast as she can. I had went to fedex to take the passport photo but it came out wrong (way too contrasted and too close to face). Much better post office than the ghettolicious one on Parkmoor. Even when they have a long line of people, there's usually about 3-4 windows open so the line moves quite quickly. Unless you get about 5-6 grandpas and grandmas in front of you asking all sorts of questions and taking foreverrrrrr to open up their wallets...then, you my friend are effed in the a** if you're always in a rush, like me! :P Parking lot is kinda odd, but people come in and out all the time so sometimes I'll get lucky with parking right near the front. This was such an easy process but .... you gotta get there EARLY. Doors open at 10:00am on Weekdays and people start lining up way before that. Here's the deal. Since it's one of the very few walk-in facilities and every other location that offers appointments books up 2 to 3 month in advance, expect to get up early and wait in line. It's first come first serve here folks and it's not a fast wait and they wont get to everyone. I read all the reviews that said GO EARLY and I did. I was there by 5:00am on a Wednesday morning. However, when I got there I did notice that there was no line. Just darkness and my strong desire to stay warm in my car. I starting to think my fellows Yelpers led me astray by telling me to get out of bed before the sun to stand in the cold dark coffeeless morning. That didn't last long because by 6am I was joined by another poor soul who decided to get out of her warm car and stand in line. So,I decided to join her. By 7:00am there was a good crowd of 10 or so. But as we got closer, those same 10 were joined by other family members and children bringing the early crew to 30 and a handful of stragglers after that. My guess is there was 50 or so in line when the doors opened at 10:00am. Now .... here's the really important stuff: 1. Download and fill out your paperwork BEFORE you arrive. Use black ink only and no whiteout. 2. All of the forms are only in english so if reading english is a struggle for you, bring a friend to help. The guy behind the counter can not and will not help you. Not his fault. It's just really busy and he's one guy. 3. Make sure you have all your necessary forms of identification. Didn't bring them? You'll have to come back. Don't argue about it. 4. They accept ATM and Credit Cards. 5. While waiting in line for 5 hours, bring a chair, an external phone charger and Food. You get hungry. Oh, and dress in layers. Because I had everything filled out and ready to go, I was in and out in under 20 minutes. But the key is the early rise and wait. This PO has extremely unreliable mail carriers and poor service. For example, daily mail deliveries are often skipped, especially when the main carrier is off. Vacation hold mail is either not delivered at all or delivered late. The management needs to work on proper oversight of its staff. read more

This post office is located in the Willow Glen neighborhood in San Jose (closest large cross street is Meridian and Hamilton Avenues). This post office has a convenient drive-through area for dropping off mail as well as a full-service office in the main building. Parking is located pretty far from the main entrance, and there's not a lot of it, which is why I subtracted one star. If I weren't able-bodied it would be a tough place to navigate. It is also in desperate need of a facelift (and possibly a redesign to make it more accessible). However, once you do get inside it has the same services available as any other post office. If you go during a high-use time, this place can take up a good chunk of your day. The workers are not very fast at their jobs. The interior is also pretty messy and a little dirty. This is why I took off a second star. I've bought stamps, mailed bulk invites, and packaged and mailed special items (that needed to be weighed, priced out and send overseas) and never had any particularly bad experiences, but have also never had a great experience, either. If you're looking for a place to mail boxes, buy stamps, get your passport renewed, or drop off mail to be sent out and you're in Willow Glen, this is a great option. It's nothing special and needs to be updated, but you'll get your errand done. read more

I have written a nice letter to the usps headquarters as I have witnessed alarming behaviour from Rubani who should be called to discipline and need to learn manners as well as to learn to respect the elders. Always crowded and you'll have to wait for a long time for your turn. Do not come if you are in a hurry. However, the staff are very friendly, patient and helpful. One of the staff showed me clearly and thoroughly what I had to do to solve my problem, and didn't forget to put a smile on her face after wishing me a good day. I'm writing this review after coming into the office today. After doing so much research, I've came EXTRA prepared and take everybody else's review into consideration! Making copies and bringing your birth certificate, your ID FRONT AND BACK, social security card, and your old passport if you are renewing your passport will save so much time for you. Filling out the applications BEFORE coming here is a must, remember to ONLY write in black ink! Once you are given a ticket right when you enter the door, you are seated with everybody else. And they start announcing what to do to get you very prepared once your number is called. If you are not prepared by the time they call your number, your number is skipped to the next person. The office is located on the right side of the actual post office, where the blue rails are and there's a big banner on top. Expect to wait a couple hours! I arrived at 6:30AM today, on a Friday, there was two people a head of me. After 9:30AM, there are already 30 people standing in line. They opened the door right at 10 o clock but I was out by 10:20AM. So if you want to be in and out of the office in 20 minutes, BE A PREPARED EARLY BIRD FOR ONE DAY. This location continues to be the worst run facility in the South Bay. I have lived in several different areas and this one is the least helpful as it relates to package pick up and customer service. My wife received a package that was small enough to be placed in the Amazon locker. Instead a pick up slip for this post office was requested. When I brought the pick up slip to collect the item I was told I can not take the package. The attendant was short and stated only my wife could pick it up. When I asked and stated I have picked up dozens of packages like this before she gave no answer except she is the only one. So now on a day that is already busy we have to make multiple trips due to this one persons lack of customer service and ability to complete the usps process. I would advise ANYONE to avoid this location as a whole whether it be passports packages shipping etc. There are many way better locations but this is is quite literally the least helpful in the area. I don't know why this office is getting a bad rep. Yes, they aren't exactly serve with a smile (most of them are very friendly), but they get their job done. I was here few times, either to get my on-hold mail, or replace mailbox or just every day mail services. Every time when I was here, the workers are efficient and got what I needed quickly. When I was here yesterday, there was a line about 5 ppl, including a older lady who was w(b)itching and complaining when the worker asked her to go to the machine to printout a receipt, she keep saying they (the worker) should've done it and she is going to lose her place in line (I was right behind her and told her I will keep her spot). And then she complains, passive-aggressively, in a "hushed" tone that everyone can hear, about the service. All I can say is, seriously, lady, you need to chill, I don't know why you are in a such hurry, it's not like you have a job to go to. And they say Millennials have entitlement issues! But then there are times that I see customers come in already upset and frustrated. I have been in line where people start yelling at the clerks just because something is not going their way. I came here at 4:15am on Saturday, with a chair snacks, fully charged iPhone and a charger. I was first in line, the line grew after 6:30am. They only were accepting 20 applications on that Saturday. They opened the door at 9:55 and gave out number, I was in and hour by 10:05. I had my application filled out, my birth certificate and photocopy, and licensee w/ photo copy of the front and desk. Our experience to get passports for our 3 kids... Thursday, April 6th: 7:15 ~~ hubby in line, estimates #20 (while I'm home still in bed) 8:30 ~~ he texts me saying that he has to pee. (Really? Really- no joke ). 8:45 ~~ I'm now in line. I told him to take his time coming back with the kids. Numbers haven't been issued. 9:15 ~~ the family is now in line, but no sign of an early opening 10:00 ~~ opening, and we collect our number as we enter the office. Collect 1 number for each passport. We were numbers 20-23, so guaranteed that we would be processed. 10:15 ~~ Mr. Le (employee) informs us that there are only 2 people working today :( ~ How to fill out DS-11 form -- must be 2016 or 2017 (noted at left footer) ~ They Do Not process the DS-82 ~ 10-15 minute processing time per passport ~ hold all questions until your turn ~ asked for help turning people away that did not have a number. That was funny, but totally appreciated. 12:50 ~~ We were called up to the first counter so Mr. Le could double check our docs. 1:00 ~~ our turn for our 3 kids' passports! The lady was super friendly and patient. 1:15 ~~ done with the ordeal. Thirsty and starving. Ready for a nap. Tips: * Fill out the DS-11 online and print before you go * For minors, DS-11 page 2, 3 things didn't get captured from filling it out online: 1: circle Mother, above the mom's name 2: circle Father, above the dad's name 3: draw a line through employer/company (i think that's the name of the field). It can't be left blank. Those were the only edits I had to make at the office so filling it out online worked out great. * If you choose to fill out by pen, BLACK INK only * Do not use White-Out to correct mistakes. Instead, draw a line through the error and then make correction * bring a copy of the birth certificate, plus original. * bring a copy of the both parents' drivers licenses, front and back. They also need to have the actual DLs for validation. * take passport photos in advance and double-check the pics' proper passport dimensions before you pay. One of the three I took at CVS was too large so I had to pay for another one at the post office $15. * leave the kids at home, if you can - they don't need to be there until your numbers are close to being called. Otherwise, bring something that will keep the young ones entertained. * bring something to entertain yourself for the hours you'll be waiting outside and inside. I didn't notice outlets for so bring extra batteries for phone and tablet charging. * no public restrooms * if you're unsure about filling out the docs, you have time to figure it out before it's your turn. Ask a friendly person to help you out, but don't interrupt the employees that are already helping out customers. 5 stars: * I like their hours, and they're open on Saturday * office is clean (no food or drink allowed inside) * pretty strict on the rules, but it works in everyone's benefit to keep things moving along * employees are very polite and patient considering they're dealing with families that have been waiting for hours * plenty of seats in the office to accommodate most of the customers at the beginning. * For us, this was easier than waiting a few weeks before we could even make an appointment elsewhere. This for Saturday 4.22.17 Arrived at 4am and I was 15th person in line! My husband had to run back home to grab chairs and blankets while I waited in line. Don't think twice out bringing chairs! Go pee before!!!! I had to go to Starbucks at 6am to pee! Bring stuff to keep you entertain.....it's a long wait. We got lucky and the worker came out early at 9:25am!! She started giving us out tickets and we got in right away. Once you are inside....it moves by really quick! You only need your completed passport forms, ORIGINAL birth certificate, driver license, passport photo, and money!! Don't worry about making copies of anything...they will do it for you. They only took the first 40 people in line. The worker turned down the rest and told them to come back next week. So basically I got there at 4am and left at 11:15am.
