I called in to report that a filter housing blew apart--the bottom of the canister literally separated, something I have never seen before. When I spoke with a representative named Matt, I was having a hard time hearing him. When I asked to be transferred to someone else since he was clearly having a bad day, he hung up on me. Well first off I purchased a water sediment system and was told that would fix my issue with my well water being "brown". I figured hell $1,200 to fix the well issue to have better water for the family that is a no brainer. Item arrived and I started running it along with 2 4x10 spin down filters. 2 weeks in my water is brown again. Called support who told me "turn the backwash on more often." and hung up. So I did that, which made it much worse. Talked to another rep there who told me I may have IRB (Iron Related Bacteria), so I ordered the test along with the water test and sure enough I have IRB in my system. So he says I need a water treatment inline with my sediment system. Que another $2,200 for another system. Hoping that would fix it all I installed that system and nope didn't fix a thing. Called again and was told to "adjust the flow". I did that and still nothing. When I purchased the system I was told it should last a year on 10 gallons of peroxide. It lasted less than a month. Frustrated I continued to call, which led me to speaking to a head rep who said they would try to figure something out. I sent multiple photos over the course of a few weeks along with multiple emails and phone calls to try and resolve this issue. I was told I should have never been sold the water treatment system because it isn't just IRB it is straight IRON in my well. I was then told there is a solution, but its about $5,000 for the system. Now I am in this whole thing already for $3,400 and was told it would be an additional $5,000 for a temporary fix. Not only would I have to be in this system for just shy of ten grand but a new well is $23,000. I feel like that would have been the best bet because I was just sold two things that do absolutely nothing for me and I am back to just spin down filters in my house with 2 big systems in my garage that do absolutely no good at all. Needless to say don't expect help, don't expect to get the right system by talking to them over the phone or email. I don't know where the reviews on their website come from, I couldn't find a way to leave one. I got my system with bare minimum documentation. Nothing on how to set up and connect my system components. The only useful documentation was how to set the current time. My system was advertised to have 35,000 grains, delivered to me was 32,000 grains (1 cubic foot). When I called to address the discrepancy the tech said that 1 cubic foot is 35,000 grains. I bought a RO system about a year ago. Customer service is horrible. There are no local people to install or service the system so we had to install it and change the filters ourselves which is not easy. The water comes out cloudy, full of tiny bubbles that eventually rise to the top and pop but the water then looks like there is a film on top. I tried endlessly to get help to resolve the problem. They recommended I replace the filters, so I did...not any easy task and afterwards I had the same problem. Then i was told I probably should have replaced the main membrane too with the filters even though it was not time to replace the membrane. The water not only looks cloudy it tastes weird. I should have cancelled the sale the minute I started having seconds thoughts. First off, the salesperson said that I could easily set up the whole house RO system on my own and he upsold me on a 250 gallon tank. Come to find out that the tank would not fit through a standard door, so we had to knock out part of our wall to fit into our electrical room. Then I had to spend about 3k+ on a plumber to come out and plumb the system -- something that was not explained to me. I was sent a ton of materials but none of them made sense to with a basic knowledge of the system. If they only wanted to sell these systems to people with advanced RO knowledge -- then they shouldn't have pushed someone like me to buy it and make it seem like it was super user-friendly. They're trying to sell these systems to consumers w/out any sort of consumer friendly setup instructions -- when they should really be targeting plumbers. In colorado, they only have one plumber up in Fort Collins that can truly set these up -- even my plumbers were confused on how to get this thing going. They had to chat with US Water systems to troubleshoot and properly set the system up. The plumbers had to replace several parts on the unit -- the water sensor, computer chip in the unit, valve to the tank (it was cracked and dripping), UV. The unit even caused some flooding in my basement because they didn't bother to mention the amount of waste water it would shoot out. I was pretty fed up and didn't want the unit anymore, but U.S. water did do the right thing and pay for the plumbers additional time and overnighted the appropriate parts -- I will give them that. Even if I wanted to return it -- I don't think they would have been willing to accept it back -- it was a pain to even get into my basement. They did make me feel bad for issues that were totally not my fault. I asked for free filters for the following year -- and was pretty much shrugged at -- and made to feel that they weren't making any money on my sale because they had to pay my plumbers and overnight me parts. It took about 2-3 months to really get the machine up and running. And it works fine now that like every part had to get replaced. Their customer service 'experts' are hit or miss. Some are nice and will walk you through things, but some were pretty rude and not helpful. Honestly, I wish I could just get my money back or some portion of it. Ordered a standard RO system ($5k+) nothing custom about it. We were told 3 to 4 weeks. Going on over 9 weeks and we still have not received it. Customer service yesterday told me that it will be done on the 9/27 and ship that day. We were then told by another person that it had been done for 3 weeks and they were waiting for final payment. We have reached out several times asking for the status and were never told that had been done or that they were waiting for final payment. I will never use them again for our future needs at our other business sites and I will steer anyone I know a way as well. Slimy company. I wish I had found all the negative reviews on Yelp before ordering from them. I placed an order for filter cartridges, carbon and gravel, for my water filtration system, on January 24th. Their prices are high, but at least they offered a 5% discount for new customers. The instructions said use the "Welcome5" discount code. I did. I should have gotten a discount for 42.45, but I only got a discount for 20.00. So I called and spoke to Josi. She was extremely disorganized and scattered, but she eventually found my order, confirmed they screwed up, and said I would get the additional money I was owed as a credit to my credit card account. I never got the credit so I called again on February 1. Again she was disorganized and scattered, and kept confusing me with a different customer who had a completely different problem. She kept calling me his name, and kept discussing his problem, even though I corrected her two or three times. Eventually she found my order. She confirmed they screwed up. She said the credit would process the following business day and should show up on my credit card account within a few days. That was 5 weeks ago!!! Then I started trading emails about details of the system parts, where it's made, as I prefer nothing from China. They gave me a great text book answer of "globally source" but not from China. Then my installer informed me to look into the Fusion NLT valve as it's exactly the same as Canature Valve.... which is made in China!!! I placed an order contingent on a delivery of February 17th or 18th. I received no progress notice from the company and assumed all was proceeding as planned. I called on Feb. 17th to check for a deliver time only to be told that the delivery had been rescheduled to February 21st. I was floored because I had already scheduled a crew for the installation when I received. In addition I never received any notice that the shipment had been delayed. I reschedule the installation for the 21st and waited. Once again I received no progress reports and called on the 21st to find out when the equipment would arrive. Once again I was told that the delivery had been delayed and I would not receive my equipment until February 27th or 28th. At this point I have no confidence that I will receive the equipment. I had a serious problem with an RO system I bought as US Water. After several calls, they sent out a box with numerous wrong parts. I took a photo of the contents and sent it to them and asked nicely if they could send the correct parts asap as my system was down. The owner completely ghosted me and put me on permanent "ignore". I believe he instructed his workers to do the same because all of a sudden no one would talk to me. This is after I spent nearly $10,000 on water treatment equipment purchased from them over a 6 year period. My solution was to buy a more simple system on Amazon for a whopping $450, which has worked perfectly for over a year now. I was upset at first that they treated me like I was some king of idiot, but in the end it worked out great because I found a much, much simpler solution to buy from Amazon - cheaper and their merchants actually care about customer satisfaction. First off, their sales consultant that helped me recommended a completely inappropriate system for my application. It took me until December 2017 after purchasing the unit in May 2017 to finally understand that I had the wrong system, and that it was never going to work for what I explained I needed. But what really got me is their mildly deceptive advertising practice. Business advertises "365-day no-hassle return policy." However, business's policy is so restrictive that it does not allow you to test equipment without voiding return. THIS WAS NEVER MENTIONED until I wanted to actually return the system I was sold that would never work for my need. The fine print is not provided up-front anywhere, but rather is located on an obscure webpage with no link found on top levels of website (pages most likely for a consumer to use before a purchase). My contention is that business should not advertise "365-day return policy," but rather, "Return only accepted in unopened package, for up to 365-days" CEO Mark Timmons personally got involved, claimed to want to help, and then cut off communications with me, hasn't replied to several emails since then, and nobody from the company returns my communications, anymore. Which is fine, because for the many, many emails and phone calls, I have a $525 system that doesn't work for what I need. And it took 6 months with their expert for me to figure that out. read more

We found that the selection process for RO units is a minefield. Most impartial reviews identify the same units/companies that appear to match a fairly well defined set of consumer/buyer criteria. The US Water unit is not evaluated?? The criteria include acceptable quality, function well, easy to install, and are reasonably priced. The technical data for the systems rarely address where the unit is made only where it may have been assembled (In the US usually of Chinese or Taiwanese parts), little or no information about use of proprietary filters, and the guarantee is usually 1 year although some say 3 years. So you read through the significant complaints or weak points for these units and comments include: leaky filter assemblies due to cracks, broken plastic valves or fittings, or they waste too much water. You will read in some of the reviews that the units should provide good service for 2-3 years when you can then buy another unit....really? Ok so we purchased US Water because it has a history of great reviews. Dealing with the representative was easy and straightforward. He answered all my questions and then some. This unit did not appear to be sold on Amazon although some other retail outlets may handle some of their products. The source of the great reviews are that they have an all US manufactured unit albeit with quality fittings from a UK manufacturer based in the US. We wanted to spend the money at home not in China and have that reflected in quality and years of service. Also we wanted a system that could receive industry standard filters and components. So we will see how the shipping and installation go forward and will review the unit operation when operable. Like many purchasers we only have the information that is available on line and depend on company integrity, customer reviews and impartial commercial ratings to make a sound decision. If there is any wrong or misinformation in the decision chain then our choice may not be the best one. So I installed the system on April 23 after some minor difficulty mounting the extra microbe filter and mineralization unit. I installed it in the garage near the garage sink and clothes washer. Most of the hoses were adequate to reach the municipal water source and sink for used water disposal or further use. We will use the disposed water for washing clothes and watering plants. After going through the recommended sanitation and rinsing/flushing process I filled a gallon jug with processed water and measured the amount of disposed water to determine the real ratio of clean water to that used for processing. The first two gallons of processed water was white and cloudy. The dissolved solids indicated by the TDS indicator was 30ppm. Our Crystal Geyser bottled water was 75ppm and the tap water was 225ppm. The disposed water from the system registered 230ppm. The interesting result from the system was that one gallon of processed water used almost 3 (three) and (1/2) one half gallons not the (1) one gallon advertised by the company literature. Is this claim an exaggeration, a misrepresentation, or a system malfunction?? I will be in touch with the company to determine why this system is not functioning as advertised. In general the unit appears well made and designed. I did install a saddle to support the filter assembly as it only has 2 screws to suspend the assembly. In the Arizona heat plastic and all else degrades quickly so the extra support will be helpful. At this point it is difficult to determine if the money spent was a wise investment! April 27 and the company is quick to provide technical support and address any request for needed parts. I gave the system 2 stars due to the false advertising claim that you will get 1 gallon of processed water at a price of 1 gallon of used water. The reality is 1 gallon to 3 gallons under ideal conditions. For those users who are buying this unit in order to minimize their overall waste or carbon footprint...you will have to live with reusing or wasting all that precious water!! read more

DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE PUTTING YOUR TRUST IN THIS COMPANY - I bought a reverse osmosis system that cost over $12,000. The system was installed and the pump died within 30 minutes of running the system. The system was installed and wired by licensed professionals. After dealing with constant incompetence they agreed to accept a full return and refund me my money. We uninstalled the entire system; they instructed me to box it up on pallets and return everything back to Indiana. They now have the entire system and my money and are going against their written word and REFUSE to refund me my money! I have emails upon emails stating they would process the return. An actual return authorization form was approved by their President, VP and sales team and everything was going as agreed until the owner Mark Timmons changed his mind, after the fact. New membrane and housing shipped fast, but that's where the good stops. I added a membrane to my system to increase production. Within 3 months the new membrane was clogged to less than 1/3 gal minute. My existing membrane (had for 1 year) is still flowing over 1.5gpm. So I called and asked the warranty. For over ten years we have had a reverse osmosis water filtration unit from US Water Systems which also supplies water to the fridge. Its done very well, just recently developed a leak in one of the canisters may have been over tightened . Did a search for a new filtration unit, seems like the prices have dropped these units shipped to home cost from $129 including shipping. With research I found you just need a basic cotton filter and a carbon filter to get rid of the majority of contaminants and bugs. If you add reverse osmosis then all your minerals are leached out of the water leaving you in depleted state. Same goes for distilled water. So what I did was to take out the leaking canister and hooked up the cotton filter to the carbon filter to supply water to the fridge and the faucet. Got rid of the reverse osmosis unit and the storage tank. Thus saving a lot of space under the counter. I will be saving water as there is no reverse osmosis filtrate going into the waste line. I spent $0.00 to have a new filtration unit that will make me healthy. read more

I deal with lots of companies for our family business. We own and operate numerous houses, large apartment buildings, commercial buildings and resorts in the South Pacific. We have problems with volcanic sand in our wells I wanted to try a water system on one building first, if it worked out OK, I would purchase and install them on all of our properties. I had lots of questions since this would be shipped half way around the world and mistakes get VERY expensive. This company really didn't seem to care even about selling us a system as they didn't bother to answer many of my questions, and I should have RUN away from them then, but as a business owner I want to give the owner of any company the benefit of the doubt and let them know when things aren't right. I did that here as well. I was told by the owner that he would personally handle my order, which he then passed on to someone else who passed it on to someone else! When the shipment arrived we noticed that according to the shipping manifest the order was complete, but it didn't match the description we had received at purchase and the most obvious part, the tank, the biggest part, was not even listed as shipped. I e-mailed them, no response! Our person in The US called them, no response! I e-mailed them again and he called them again. I finally e-mailed them AGAIN with cc to the owner and the person he handed it off to, and our person called again. I was told by the owner that Fed Ex lost a box in shipment, and they took care of us instead of "Throwing us to the wolves" and not doing anything! But, the manifest was accurate as to what we received, the tank was missing and not listed, other parts were missing and not listed. What kind of response is something like that? It tells you everything about that company in one small statement. And by the way, Estes was the shipper,NOT Fed Ex!!!!! I bought a 56SE Water Softener at the end of December. I got it all installed and found that it was leaking at the connection for the brine tank. Turns out that the injector housing was cracked. I contacted customer service and after sending pictures of the crack, they said I had two options: I could send the control unit back for repair or they would send me the part and I could repair it myself. Since I really wanted to get the unit online as soon as possible, I agreed to repair it myself. They shipped USPS who lost the part... Contacted customer service again and this time they agreed to send a fully assembled control unit. They refused to ship overnight, but sent FEDEX ground. Seems like their shipping department didn't get it out the door until another day had passed and I contacted customer service again. Lost another day... Finally got it all assembled and online. Some parts have been changed, but their instructions are not updated. I sure hope the part does not crack again, but this looks like a design flaw. read more

I built a new home last year and the well water was high in hard water and sulfates (SO4-S and SO4). I was told that they had a system that would take care of that, which I then purchased. Altogether the system ran close to $5,000.00. I had a water test conducted again this year and the sulfate levels were the same. Being pissed off in an understatement. I have tried calling the owner Mark Timmons and he would not return my calls and had an employee call me who in turn told me he could not help me and that he would have Mark Timmons contact me.
