I frequent USPS locations all over L.A. - and especially Beverly Hills. This is my FAVORITE and most convenient location. Everyone here has always been super friendly and helpful. I've only had pleasant experiences. Not sure why it's getting so many 1 star reviews...looks like this page is littered with racist remarks. Anyways, I've never had to wait in a long line because they've always been fully staffed (can't say the same about other locations) and I've never been given attitude by anyone. Well, if we speak of different people then here's a new one for you to look out for. This woman...I put a forever stamp on an envelope. Someone correct me here, but a forever stamp remains in tact FOREVER? She tells me that the forever stamp was from years ago and I now owe five cents. I go, "but I thought this was a forever stamp". She goes in that nasty attitude of hers, " you can either pay 5 cents here, or take it to the mailbox over there and drop it off". By the mailbox over there, she ment probably about 5 steps away, which I'm assuming is the same postal service and company considering I WAS STILL IN THE SAME BUILDING. I kept asking her why the forever stamp wasn't valid and she maintained it was a forever stamp from 5 years ago. Defeated I paid the five cents - mainly because it's just five cents. I wish I had said something more to the woman to make her feel like a little person she's actually not. read more

I don't expect much from the post office or dmv, and spending an hour waiting is basically a given at any of them, but this place takes it to a whole new level. Spent several hours here waiting to pick up a package a couple months ago, which was frustrating by itself, but was most infuriating was the complete lack of hustle or interest on the part of the staff while it was busy there. I don't think there's any other job in the world that wouldn't fire those lazy parasites. Some people have actual jobs to get back to... That said I've never had a problem with their residential service like so many of the other people on this group therapy page are complaining about. read more

Lazy, unhelpful, rude. I requested they hold my package through USPS website because they attempted to deliver at my old apartment twice even though I set up a forwarding address weeks ago. I tracked my package and it went to Bell Gardens but came BACK to West L.A. (?!) Exposition branch was no help whatsoever. Pretty much shrugged and said sorry can't help you. read more

I wish I could give this office a ZERO stars. the people who work there are simply a notch about rocks. Their attitude gives all postal workers a bad rep. They just don;t care about their job, about your mail or about you. It seems that they use their brain cells only to count the minutes to their lunch break or retirement. Rude, non-carying idiots to sum it up. The tone of voice, the smart-ass comments and the rudeness is unreal. If you need some tape to seal a box - "YOU HAVE TO BUY IT" - I was told, even for a PRIORITY TAPE which is always FREE. WTF. I went to the S.M branch only to have as much tape as I needed at no cost!!! I am sending my box as Priority so I am already paying extra (do I need to EXTRA for the tape?). That was simply a false statement by the clerk (tall male - you know who you are!!!). On my prior visit, I also took a snap shot with my phone of another clerk who opened a letter and was READIN IT !!! YES, I HAVE THAT ON RECORD!!! I rather have these lazy-ass workers on welfare then on the job where a nice fat pension is waiting for them around the corner. I just went to drop off my rent check when an employee was out trying to fix a stuck door on a drop box. I said excuse me and waited to no reply. I then asked if she was going to be carrying the mail in (so as to save the extra effort of having to retrieve my mail from back out of the box), no reply. I said excuse me again (politely mind you not in a demanding fashion) and she snapped, "I am very busy here, put your mail in the box". I did not warrant such an attitude and cannot believe after reading some of the reviews on this branch in particular that their higher ups aren't looking into this and having a major attitude adjustment w/all its employees at this branch. I wish there was a star less than 1 to rate this post office. It is truly the worst one I have EVER been to! The ENTIRE staff is rude, unresponsive, and slow as molasses. The lines are always long and you're lucky if they add an extra person only when the line is out the door. If there was ever a reason for the United States Postal Service to become privatized, this post office should top the list! Every time I have been to this place they treat their customers horribly. I don't know why I keep going back there...probably because it is the closest to where I live. From the long lines to rude cashiers who can't crack a smile if their life depended on it. With all the unemployment going on in our city, I am sure there would be plenty of appreciative, able-bodied, service-oriented folks who could do a better job. As for Stephanie's experience below, we must have had the same person. Today, I went to buy 2 books of stamps. I approach the lady behind the counter and asked to see my options. As you know, there usually are different kinds of stamps you can get. She barks at me and goes, "There ARE no options" as she pulls out the Liberty bell stamps and the Simpsons stamps. I went with the Liberty bell. I tried to swipe my card and she barks at me, "Hold on! Credit or debit?" I said, "credit" and handed her my license and credit card because normally they want to see validation. She almost threw my license back at me and goes, "I don't need this." I stayed patient until my transaction was over with. Like Stephanie, she doesn't even hand me my receipt and stamps. I have to grab it off her scale. As I picked them up I go, "OH, by the way... See those Simpsons stamps along with the Liberty bell stamps you put on the counter?" She goes, "Yes..." I go, "That would be considered an OPTION" and walked out. Horrible service. read more

This is the worst post office I have ever been to. The employees are lazy, slow and rude, they have no good customer service. I have multiple bad experiences, here is a couple: I was in line when a woman being helped in front of me forgot her money in the car. The employee allowed her to go get it, while this took 5 minutes the employee didn't help anyone else-there were multiple people standing in line. Waist of time. A man named Tony helped me, I needed a pen, he said 'I don't have one, can't help you.' But when he needed a pen he got one for himself. I asked for one again, at this time he said 'there's one over there.' Over there where? He said it, didn't point anywhere, I asked 'where?' 'Over there' he said again. Okay I got it this time, behind me. So I got the pen. I had multiple packages, the last two he gave back to me and I had to put 4 stamps on them instead of him printing out one sticker, which they have done before. I can't wait to post more bad experiences, although I will go out of my way to try and not use this post office. read more

This is the worst post office I have ever visited in my life. The other day I waited in line for 15 minutes. When I got to the front of the line the employee refused to take my package because it had not return address on it. I asked if he could hand me a pen so I could scribble it on quickly while he was printed to postage. He refused and said I had to go to the back of the line. This place is truly awful. I don't think I've ever experienced worse customer service from anywhere in my life. I used to live near a fantastic post office, so I know it's not the USPS in general. The residential delivery has always been poor where I now live but I let it go and chalked it up to a single lazy worker. Things are crammed into the mailbox in ways that make it seem like it would take a lot more effort to get them that way instead of simply turning something on it's side. I was spoiled with the last mail delivery person I had but you would think after several months of having to pick up "return to sender" mail, someone would get a clue that the person doesn't live here anymore. I ignored these issues because it wasn't really a waste of my time, just horribly inefficient on their end. Then I get a notice that I have missed a delivery of a certified letter. Weird how I missed it since it had come sometime in the hour that I had been home. Home and sitting around doing nothing, with zero chance I could have missed an attempted delivery. That was annoying but I moved on and figured I would pop into the post office on my way to work to pick it up. So I go to the post office at around 9:10am. The delivery notice and all the signs at the post office state that the package can be picked up from 9a-4pm. When I get there, there are about 10 people already waiting in line with no one attending the desk. There is a postal worker sitting ten feet away, I ask her if she can help us, she said "no", she just sits there and literally twiddles her thumbs as the line for pickup grows to 15 people. We all stand there and nothing happens. Eventually, I ring the side bell, someone comes out and looks at the line and then disappears again. I was told by someone in line (who picks up mail for her job) that it's like that everyday and nothing changes. I stood there for 30 minutes and nobody came out to help the growing line. The other worker sat at her desk and did absolutely nothing, the worker that came out to peak, eventually resurfaced to buy some stamps from the automated stamp machine and then disappeared back into oblivion. Eventually I had to leave to make it to work and decided to reschedule the delivery. I made sure to give it a few days so that there was plenty of time to get the letter from wherever it was in the post office out to residential delivery. I gave them 3 business days, my letter was supposed to come yesterday and here we are 2 full days later and nothing. I'm not even sure how service can be this bad. Is this post office the last stop before they eventually fire people? I could have driven across country and back to pick up the letter in person in the amount of time it's been sitting in the L.A. post office. Like I said before, I used to live in an area with a wonderful post office and wonderful workers, things were quick and efficient and I never had an issue. read more

The employees (both behind the counter and the mail carriers who deliver our mail) at this post office have consistently shown themselves to be unprofessional, inefficient, and in some cases, dishonest. If you're just buying stamps, you'll be fine. If you're unlucky enough to live in their delivery zone, God help you. read more

January 25, 2013 To Whom It May Concern (and I hope it does concern someone): This morning at the P.O. on 11270 Exposition Boulevard, I and at least 8 to 10 other customers trying to pick up mail we had to call for in person had an unbelievably bad experience. I got there about 10:20 am and heard that the six people in front of me had been there for half an hour already and had been without any service. A postal employee named Tony, who would not give his last name but said we could describe him as a black man with a mustache named Tony, would not respond to questions about whether anyone was going to help us or not; he would not call anyone himself or help us himself (he was then the only person helping people at the regular lines). The two women at the front of the line said they had gotten the phone number of the manager, 310 444-9154, and another number, 323 586-1250, but had been trying unsuccessfully to get through for that same half an hour. Another ten, then, fifteen, minutes went by. I too tried to phone these numbers and the first was busy; the second played a message saying it was busy. Finally a young black woman with braids came on duty and got information about a package for the first woman in line, who had been told, on the phone, to come in anytime and pick up her package. It seemed that her package was upstairs and no one from downstairs could go and get it; also, no one from upstairs seemed inclined to bring it down. But this postal employee phoned upstairs and the manager, apparently, said that sometime in the next hour someone would bring it down! Finally, after another five or so minutes, a young man named Trujillo appeared from behind the wall (we had seen his body moving back and forth back there for some time) and apologized and said no one had told him there was a need for service. He actually went upstairs and got the package for the first woman (the 2nd and 3rd women in line had given up and gone away). Then he began serving the rest of us. He gave us the name of the manager, a name for which we had been asking Tony unsuccessfully for some time (Tony was incredibly rude to all who asked for information or help); this manager, UNA HODGES we now learned, had been there all along but unresponsive to phone calls (probably had the phone off the hook, always busy) or to the request from the only helpful employee there, the young black woman with braids. It took 45 minutes of standing in line while NO ONE was helped and then five more minutes once Mr. Trujillo began serving the customers. This is deplorable, and I hate to report that going to this particular post office is always a slow and unpleasant experience. Please do something to improve service! It was disgraceful. I spent 3 days and over 4 hours sitting in the lobby trying to get a lost package located. I was told to call between 8-9 AM on Saturday to speak with someone but the phone number was busy the entire hour. This is a terrible waste of taxpayer money. There's only one reason to go to this one--the longer hours. Otherwise, it's a complete hassle. I've never had a good experience here. I always feel patronized and insulted but I know from experience that I'm not getting singled out or anything. They're pretty much dicks to everyone. I'm also dubious of the good experiences others say they've had here--highly suspect in my opinion, because this place probably tops my caca list. Was told they had attempted to deliver my package and had left a note. I was home at the time and never was notified. Looked around for a note that I couldn't find. Called the usps national number (as the website doesn't tell you where the package is even with a tracking number ). Was told on the phone that I could pick up my package until 430PM. Literally the worst post office I've EVER dealt with. If I could give negative stars I would. Avoid this branch at all costs!! I ordered a animal cage off Amazon, and for context, I'm a prime customer. It was supposed to be delivered in two days. WRONG! It turned into the biggest hassle!! The cage is only 30lbs. Delivery was attempted two days later, with my husband and I home all day, and we get an update saying it couldn't be delivered. For no reason! We then reschedule a delivery .... only for them to be "unable to deliver"! It said a notice was left, but nothing was left! We can't figure out where our package is, and we had to get Amazon involved to tell us which post office location it was at. We go in person to complain and try to find our package, only for the woman to tell us they can't help us without a notice. BUT THEY DIDN'T LEAVE ONE! Finally, we wait to ambush our delivery woman. She then proceeds to tell us that the package is "too heavy to deliver" (what, is she the only person who could deliver it???) and that we need to go pick it up. But we were not given any of this information! If we hadn't waited for her to be on our block and confront her in person, we never would have known! Again, NO NOTICE LEFT! We then go in person to the office to pick up the package .... only to be told that "pick up" closes at 4pm even though they are open until 5. Even though our package was right in the back, because "pick up was closed", we couldn't get it! And we could even see it sitting right there!! We come back the next day and FINALLY got our package. Then, we get home, only to find a notice finally in our mailbox...dated three days prior when they were supposed to leave the notice! Clearly they put it there and wrote a previous date to make it look like it was there the whole time when it definitely wasn't. A FULL WEEK LATER, we finally get our package, but only because we took it into our own hands. As a prime customer who pays extra for the guarantee of two day shipping, this is ridiculous! read more

After paying close $40 for Sunday delivery, the envelope I sent was not delivered on time. I went back to request a refund and they gave me a very hard time to get my money back. To start off on the wrong for, the clerk did not provide a receipt for the transaction but I offered to show my online bank statement with the charge reflected on there. I did not have the original slip for the delivery but I had a picture on my phone. The clerk and the supervisor refused it --the picture was not cutt off or blurried; all the info including tracking # was very clear. The clerk said original slip was needed because someone else could make a second claim. Really?! The US post office relies on paper now? I thought they used some kind of computerized system to keep track of refunds, sales, etc. I can't believe they still live in the paper age (because they don't). They just wanted to give me a hard time. Avoid this location, there are others with more helpful employees. read more

Tried picking up my vacation hold mail. Wow....what a nasty attitude from the person at the vacation hold counter. If our mailman didn't change so often, I would have him/her deliver my vacation hold mail. Wish I could have the mail sent to another post office. This place is so poorly organized that I've never seen any person in line happy with the post office staff. I recall that 1 postal clerk seemed to be reasonably polite...but the rest are generally miserable. I can understand why we have a new mailman too often. A friend in the Midwest sent a Certified Letter to my veterinarian to help[ ay for emergency care for my dog. The tracking number shows that the letter departed this post office two days ago, yet the letter has never reached its destination. Far, far worse, is that--having received the phone number of this location from the Pacific Palisades Post Office, I have been ringing their phone now for well over three minutes, and they simply refuse to answer. I agree with the negative reviews in YELP and shall now write my Conngressional representatives, citing these reviews, and encouraging a turnover here--fast. HOPE, this post office has lots of hope. They HOPE that you'll get in the right line. They HOPE that you don't mind when after waiting for a half hour in one line. you're told that you've been in the wrong line. They HOPE that after waiting in the other line for another half hour you don't mind that the same clerk (now behind a different desk) now says she can't help you. They HOPE that you don't mind while the figure out who can help you. They HOPE that you don't mind when the person who was supposed to help you has no clue and has to go find another person. They HOPE you don't mind that they have no clue where you over due package is. They HOPE you don't mind waiting between 7 and 30 days while HOPEFULLY they might find it. They HOPE you don't mind that they can't tell you where you package is, saying 'it's somewhere in LA, or maybe not". I have hope too. I have not had a delivery problem in a year, but the new Sports Illustrated swim suit issue comes torn up with the post office sending me an apology because 'we care' but I collect these additions and now it is ruined and no collector would want it in the condition it comes to my house. I have other big magazines that come at the same time, same day that are fine with no marks or rips at all. The post office isn't going to pay to replace it, so hopefully SI will help me because of the delivery problem. read more

This review is about the delivery service for residents who have this post office for their jurisdiction. On a regular basis our packages are scanned incorrectly-saying undeliverable, no access, wrong address, delivered (when not), delivery attempted (someone is always home), "ready to be picked up", or forever stuck in their scan system -inaccessible & returned to senders & vendors. Size does not matter but more often big packages & small packages get the run around or are lost. The pattern seems to be that there is one postperson who gets the route periodically and does not feel like delivering (happens every few weeks like they are on rotation because we have regular daily deliveries and seems we get this kind of service every 3 -4 weeks). Someone is always home and we have an intercom so access is always available. We have video monitors that have shown in the past there was no attempt to deliver packages, but an attempt is claimed through the scan system-often at different times than we actually get our regular mail.. We notice when the weather is bad-either too wet or too hot, we get a runaround with packages. I have even received an intercom call from someone saying 'I ain't bringing the package up-if you want it you need to come down and sign for it, I have a bad back'. I am not exaggerating on the attitude. I am bedbound (also explained this) and had to send my caregiver down to get the package. That was the only time they have ever even tried to use the intercom to communicate with us during delivery. I don't think every delivery person with USPS from this location is unprofessional, but clearly someone is not in the mood to deliver packages during these times. The tracking scans & reasons are just too off and defy reasoning. We have one really nice post-girl who has even said at one point "why did they scan that they delivered? they didn't even try!"-she seemed to be annoyed like she was dealing with a coworker who had done this before because she had the actual packages with her that were supposed to have been delivered before. We have also had items that were "lost" and in the runaround tracking with this office and when we've gone in to inquire they suddenly have them, sitting somewhere in the back. They just weren't scanned in the computer again so we had no idea what was going on-they were just sitting in the back-with a CLEARLY PRINTED correct address with instruction for the "carrier - leave package if no response" (this package was scanned as address incorrect/undeliverable, cannot leave unattended). I spend alot of time online contacting the vendors we purchase from to alert them to the missing items and poor delivery service they are contracting with because USPS themselves does not do anything about these issues. Many vendors are perturbed because they choose UPS/Fede-Ex and these packages are referred to smart-post which is USPS where they get lost half the time. Like others have said, this location has not ever answered their phone when we have called. It just rings.The 800 number has had problems getting through as well, though the 800 customer service reps are generally nice. The 800 reps are rarely able to help though because there seems to be limited communication between the two, perhaps for the same reason-no one picks up. My hunch is that the one rotating post-person does not want to be bothered with delivering larger packages and tries to leave them at the post in order to eliminate carrying them in to our location. I understand the post office can be overwhelmed by package delivery and for that reason I just wish all vendors just stuck with UPS/FEDEX/ONTRAC,etc because I rely on packages being delivered not having to pay a caregiver to go pick them up. Mail deliver has not been too bad though we do get other people's mail from entirely different streets at times. We notice alot of magazines end up in our lobby that aren't meant for our location, either, usually just a block over. Frustrating. read more

this post office seems very ill equipped to service the community. Multiple times we don't get mail. Not just once...multiple times. It's almost expected now that once a month we'll miss a day or two of mail delivery. If there is a packaged transferred by UPS or FedX to the post office for delivery you can forget about it. They claim they come but they don't. Not just once but three times now we've unfortunately bought something and then found out the delivery was transferred to the local carrier. The carrier updates and posts notes that they attempted delivery and left a sticker but No..this did not occur. Didn't get anything. And finally, if you have a question or complaint...forget about reaching them. Phone rings and rings without pickup. I was lucky I haven't had any problems with this place until my last visit, but it was so bad that I would drag this review to zero stars if I could. Normally I have a lot of patience and even pity for rude people. If it gets really bad I say to them "it seems like you're having a bad day" or something like that. But yesterday I myself was having a bad day, so I arrived there a little raw. Nevertheless when I walked up I was my normal polite self and told the woman (darn I didn't get her name) I was mailing the package to....she cut me off by literally flinging a form at me saying "Customs!". When I finished, she looked at the form and flung it back and said "10!" At that point I realized our pattern of communication would not involve complete sentences, so I flung the form back at her with the credit card. This is where it gets funny - she came back at me saying I was giving HER attitude!!! That's when I began shouting she started giving me attitude from the moment I walked in, and said it must feel really bad to know you won't have a job next year. As I was walking off she was yelling "I HAVE a job!" Wow, does she even know what's happening to the post office? She must think she has a govt job and can act accordingly, but it's an enterprise that's going bankrupt because of people like her. I'm sorry I was in a hurry and wasn't able to bring the incident to closure, if I have time will call the mgmt and recommend they read these yelp reviews. From now on I will do everything by internet or automated machine, and would rather pay more for UPS and actually get some service. read more

I rarely take the time to write a review, but I am so utterly outraged by this post office - I'm talking jaw-dropping outraged. I have had the misfortune of living in the territory of this branch for over 12 years now and I literally feel stress in the day or days before when I realize that I have to go there for something. So much so that I will do almost anything in my power to avoid going there. But occasionally I'm forced to and the things I have experienced there should not be experienced by anyone, ever, and certainly not in a service industry. I have experienced flat out blatant racism on several occasions. I have stood in line waiting to pick up a package for so long that I start to assess whether the package is even worth it. I have stood in line listening to employees talk to each other about entirely inappropriate things. I have never seen more than two people working the counter and almost every time I'm there, the second person disappears at some point and then there's just one person working with a line out the door. I have never once felt that engaging the customer is more important to them than chatting with each other - they will literally ignore you. They are absolutely ambivalent about their customers, we are just an annoyance that they have to deal with during the course of their day and that attitude shines through loud and clear. Ironic that you can actually see a sign posted on a cupboard door in the back on the East side of the counter area that reads, "Customer Service Is Why We Are Here"...seriously, that sign is there...what a joke! They are by far the most rude and unhelpful group that I have ever encountered in any industry in my entire life, no exaggeration. I wish all these issues were at least generalizations or the exceptions to the rule, but they are consistent behaviors at this branch. I see visibly upset customers here more often than should ever be acceptable anywhere! I can hardly believe that in this day and age, especially with the postal service experiencing such financial distress, that someone doesn't do something about this place. COME ON USPS - INVESTIGATE THIS PLACE!!! After today's visit to this post office, I decided that I am never setting foot in there ever again - that's it, I'm done. I have always been friendly and pleasant in dealing with them - I always figured I'd kill them with kindness and treat them how I'd like to be treated. But today made me realize that these people are sick and miserable. I won't get into the details because I simply don't have the time and energy, but suffice it to say that after all these years they have finally succeeded in losing my business. And I can only imagine that knowing this would only bring them joy that they have one less customer they have to deal with. But I don't even care anymore. I'm going to use Bill Pay, UPS, FedEx and any and all other means to avoid ever going into this branch of the post office ever again. Months ago I complained about the mail carrier in my area because she left one of those Sorry We Missed You notices in my mailbox stating that no one was home to receive the package even though I was home all day, she didn't even bother coming upstairs (2nd floor) to knock on my door to see if I was home or not. I called USPS and spoke to Lameesha she gave me a case number and that was that. So, back in November I was expecting a package (40-45 lbs), the mail carrier left another Sorry We Missed You notices that said my package didn't fit in my mailbox and that's why she didn't leave it. Anyway, I called USPS to scheduled a re-delivery, but I still didn't receive the package, well long story short I had to reschedule three times before they re-delivered. It took almost a whole month for me to get that package and not to my door, I had to open the box downstairs and carry the items upstairs in bags. Well, it seems the mail carrier decided to retaliate for the complaints I made because she started to leave most of my packages downstairs regardless of the size and I either find our mail outside of our mostly empty mailbox or all of our mail stuffed and ripped inside of the mail box. The last week of January I was expecting a package (32 lbs) and she just dropped it downstairs, the package was open and on top of that I was left with bruised arms carrying the box to my car (I have fibromyalgia and couldn't take it upstairs), when I got the item out of the box so I can put it together ( Sm. ClosetMaid organizer) parts of the item were broken, needless to say I had to return it. I called the post office and spoke to Jose Hernandez he said "she can't carry heavy things, she can get injured"... ummm maybe she needs to find herself another job because this type of job requires you to lift heavy things. Anyway, Jose said "next time there is a heavy package I will have another carrier deliver it, call if there is another problem", so I called on Friday 2/3/17 after she left my box out in the rain, he didn't have the courtesy to call me back. The mail carrier we had before this one, she didn't have a problem bringing my packages to my door. I wish I could remember her name because she is the only USPS employee that I have met there who is not rude . I really hope she returns when her baby is born. If this keeps happening as a last resort I am going to have to submit a mediation request with Consumer Affairs, but in reality I wish I could sue USPS Rancho Park because of their overall bad customer service. If you speak to the "supervisors" Lameesha and Jose don't believe anything they tell you, they do not care, they aren't even on the same page those two, she tells me it isn't safe to leave my packages in front of my door or downstairs and he says it's safe to leave my packages in front of my door or downstairs. DON'T BOTHER GOING TO THE POST OFFICE! The service is awful with the exception of our previous mail carrier. read more

i've had okay experiences here. definitely better than the westwood location in the federal building. i suggest going first thing in the morning when it's not very crowded so as to minimize the wait. the employees are generally pretty friendly. read more
