The worst customer service you will ever see anywhere. The lady "Michelle" shouldn't be allowed to work with the public ever. She locked my box before it's due date then argued with me and refused to unlock it. She attempted to bill me double what I owed and then insisted that she "knew" what I had ordered online and that I was wrong and she was right, by the way, "I was right". Simply by my asking for clarification as to why my box was prematurely closed and why my bill was double what's due, she began crossing her arms, moving forward, raising her voice, and getting inmate/corrections officer level hostile; it was ridiculous. The more I asked why she was being so rude and getting riled up, the more irritate she got. Needless to say, she never unlocked my box and when I got home of course I was right about my amount due. I had demanded her manager's info, but I have tried to call dozens of times now, over a span of a couple weeks and apparently it's impossible to reach them, so no complaint can be given. NOW my mail has even been tampered with. I received a small package, one that technically could have fit in my box and certainly would have fit in the outside boxes. Instead of putting it my box or in a key box, I was given a yellow paper so I'd have to come in during business hours to get it. When I asked why this happened instead of a key, the gentleman looked over at Michelle, who was not trying to hide her smirk at all, and then he shrugged his shoulders and said "I'm not sure, it's odd, but it's up to the person that sorts the mail". It may sound paranoid, but I saw the look on her face, she did it, and she seemed quite proud of making me waste my time to come in for a tiny package. Honestly, after dealing with this woman I started to wonder if maybe it was me, maybe my tone was off that day, if maybe she was just having an off day..... but then I saw these Yelp comments. "The Asian woman", "Michelle", "The lady at the counter"; they are all her. A million blatant, horrible complaints about this horrid woman and yet she's still there dealing with people. I might add, the day this originally happened she was clearly covering up a black eye. I almost felt bad for her, but now I get it. As a man I'd never put hands on a woman, but I bet another female did and to be honest, I can kind of understand why. It was just horrible. She needs to be fired and asap. read more

I wouldn't give this post office even one star if I had a choice. Yes, all these people are right, this Asian lady named Michelle is super rude, condescending, and pure corrupt, her name is Michelle! I have spent several hours on the phone to file a complaint, I finally did. Then somebody named Eric called me regarding my complaint and left a message. I have been trying to reach this guy for three weeks now and I have not been able to contact him yet. I call every day, the phone keeps ringing and then I get disconnected. Worst friggin encounter I have ever experienced. I had multiple things to mail, and the Asian lady was super rude. I had a ton of things to mail out, and she told me to buy stamps outside. Um, I have had my cards returned to me because I used regular stamps. I had something else that needed to be mailed out that needed literally a small piece of tape, to which she said I couldn't mail out without any tape. WHY THE HELL AM I HERE? By far the WORST experience I've ever had EVER. The "asian" woman name is Michelle and that's who my complaint is about. Funny that's what everyone else's complaint is about too. Tried to make a complaint to her supervisor Bryon, he yelled over me and hung up on me twice. This place is a joke and it's obvious they don't care about how they treat people....who cares about paying customers right? OMG! I was mailing documents from work and using my business credit card. As I'm a frequent customer & use same USPS Clerk I asked "nicely" why she needed my ID & she blew up! She says, "EXCUSE ME?" ... Never answering my question, starts heckling me & getting customers to heckle & yell at Withholding my ID, then my receipt over a question. Then as I'm asking her why she is so hostile towards me, she starts telling me she's calling the POLICE on me! This is our USPS CUSTOMER SERVICE. Never sending anything through USPS ever again. I'll be taking my business else where... sent a package to NY and I'm pretty sure one of the workers stole it. It's been 2 months and I've created cases and such and they've never resolved it or gave me a courtesy call to inform me of any information. I moved in this Post offices delivery area, which is strange because it is further than two post offices closer to me. HOWEVER, I Rarely receive my mail. I have had mail returned to sender and people call me to let me know. I asked my neighbors if they have the same experience, they all have. One contacted the supervisor and said she was not getting her mail from the VA and when she asked the mail carrier he said he refused to deliver mail from the VA. The supervisor said he has the right to do that...odd. When i called not knowing about the neighbors I said I had not received my mail for a week and that a doctors office had called me with returned mail to sender. The supervisor said he would get back to me and never has. Again, day 3 no mail not even junk mail. So i will try to call again. read more

These people have lost the last 2 packages I've ordered in the last two weeks. They refuse to deliver to our apartments, I am starting to recognse the other residents from my apartments wasting their lunch breaks and time after work only to be turned away because of 1 hour lines.i have never experienced such incompetence at any establishment. This location is my closest USPS. It's not my favorite or my least favorite. The staff at the counter work really hard all day and I could never do what they do. People get irritated by the rules, etc, but these are government workers doing what appears to be a very boring job with a lot of bureaucratic red tape they have to memorize and deal with and a lot of terse people. These workers deserve medals for dealing with us riff raff! The Asian lady I'm assuming everyone is talking about is Michelle. She's actually very nice when you give her basic respect, very assertive and tries to make things clear even though you are the hundredth customer she's had to tell the same things to just today. Postal workers are overworked and it's understaffed. There are online resources you can answer questions at and also a really good phone service! Call USPS and ask a question! Then you can go to the counter fully prepared and have a smooth experience. It's a neighborhood USPS. I've seen these workers in the grocery store! I have nothing against them and their service is great considering the huge traffic load that comes in to Eastport Plaza USPS. Also, in reference to her accent. That neighborhood is the Jade District. It's full of Asian people from various places. Michelle can speak to the other customers who need her help. That's important for the community. If you listen carefully and are patient, her accent will not be a hindrance at all. She will stick with you until everything is clear & done right. Although I've seen her justifiably irritated, she always remains calm and professional despite the massive egos who come in there. If you accept that postal workers are people too and that this is a heavy volume office, you can get a lot done here. FYI the machine here is often buggy due to high traffic and the after hours package depository fills up quickly in the evening. When in doubt go to the airport USPS as they are open a bit later and the lobby machine is available 24 hours. read more

Pretty typical post office: long lines, perpetually on-edge staff, petty restriction enforcement for higher profits, and of course lost mail. I gave them one less star because they sent back a stack of envelopes that were semi-rigid but easily machinable, and I had to add $.21 to each one. Of course, they made sure I did add postage by tightly rubber-banding them so that they were so crinkled they couldn't be machine-sorted even if they tried. No other post office has done this, but they've done it multiple times. And its never a problem when I have just a few envelopes. The 'magic' number appears to be six. read more

I Originally lived in SW and had my PO box at the Garden Home location, loved visiting the post office got great service, friendly staff and an all around great place. I recently moved near this post office at Eastport and switched my PO box to this location, what a MISTAKE I made, when my PO BOX was assigned to me ( barely 5 ft) that this PO Box on the top row was not going to work for me, I went into the lobby and asked the lead clerk (rudest little Asian lady ever)what I could do to get a lower PO Box that I could actually reach, she basically told me that the PO box was randomly selected, which I understand, so I ask again how can I switch to a lower box, she tells me you can close your box and open a new one but you will lose your money, I ask her why can you not just fix the mistake and give me a box I can reach, at this point the lead clerk that I can barely understand and who can clearly barely understand me tells me that I have no common sense and that she doesn't need to fix anything, I ask for her manager and she tells me I am the manager here ,so I ask for her manager or bosses number and after a number of odd sounds which I'm sure we're words in her mind she writes down her higher-ups info. I called her boss immediately and received nearly as bad of service as I received at the actual post office Brad Cate the lead clerks boss told me basically because of the area that the post office is located that they deal with some pretty bad people so their customer service may not be the best which seems completely ridiculous to me but hey I'm not the boss then he proceeds to tell me there is a 2 month waiting period on any other PO box in that post office which yet again is BS because I walked in paid them $120 and got a PO box for a year on the spot so now all of a sudden there's a waiting list, I think not! I will only identify her as the Asian lady, because I could not catch her name over the phone. I usually don't care to describe people by their race, but beings this was over the phone & didn't have a name, that's as much as I have to go off of. How completely rude! I was trying to confirm a zip code discrepancy I had for a work related matter, since I had never heard of "97290" for the Eastport area in SE, that I thought I knew to be 97266. After looking up the address on usps.com, and it confirmed that zip was 97290, I called to see when the change happened so I could notify others in my agency. After going round & round with her stating things like I must have the wrong address or I must have entered the address wrong into usps.com, she stated the zip is for PO Boxes only, and that residence addresses in the area are still 97266. Great, that was helpful...could have done with the answer without all the attitude. I then said that since the website is providing the zip for a residence address, and not a PO Box, she may want to notify someone so it can be updated. I again got how I must have done something wrong. She then had the audacity to ask me if I was done, because she had a customer waiting. Last time I checked, I was a customer too, with a valid question, then a concern. I dug a little deeper online to find that the address is for the dang post office itself. Would it have been so difficult to just say that from the get go?!? Not the first time I have dealt with the terrible customer service at this post office, as I used to live in that area. Fortunately, I don't have to deal with going there in person any longer. Unfortunately, for the citizens in that areas, it appears I am not the only person who has had to deal with the abysmal staff that is employed there. I guess I should not expect anything more of the USPS. I have been anticipating the delivery of a package and learned via FEDEX Smartpost ... which isn't so smart if it takes 5 days for a package departing Troutdale to be delivered to a Portland address ... that said; the package was to be scheduled to be delivered today. It wasn't!!!! Although; I did find a 'Sorry we missed you' slip in my mailbox! I 've not left the house ... Not been Watching TV ... or listening to the Radio ... or been playing Video Games! I would have heard the bell if they actually 'Tried' to deliver the package. IT IS CLEAR ... they did not actually attempt to deliver the package. To make matters worse ... you cannot talk to a person at the USPO ... not even at the local number as they do not answer the phone ... that just compounds the issue and adds to the frustration. I can only assume it is 'laziness'!!! The delivery person did not want to carry the package from their vehicle to my door!!! The man behind the counter said "there is no guarantee that won't happen" and he would not put a sticker on my package. What the hell kind of service is that! I paid a lot to have that package sent and I wanted to at least try to make sure they were careful with it.
