We saw the good reviews and wanted to try out the shawarma and the Kababs and was disappointed. It is very hard to find good shawarmas in Austin and it continues. We did a pick up and ordered 5 shawarmas , Iraqi kabab, chicken , chicken tikka and the chicken kabab plates. The shawarmas didn't have any veggies inside and was just loaded with chicken and fries and didn't have any flavor, it also was soggy by the time I reached home. We reheated the fries but the fries were oily and didn't taste good. The kababs had a heavy meaty odor which we disliked , not sure why, but I have had plenty of kababs from Mediterranean joints and never had this problem. The bill came to around 128$ and we all were so disappointed since yelp showed good reviews for the place. Won't be going back again. read more

Found this place randomly while visiting Austin. As a Turkish American - I thought that this place would be perfect but sadly I was disappointed. (Maybe I just had really high expectations?) I ordered the lentil soup (a traditional and favorite) and it was alright. I tasted like it had chicken broth in it which I thought was weird because the recipe doesn't call for chicken broth. But maybe it was their version(?) 5/10 I also ordered the chicken kebab that came with rice, salad, & hummus. The hummus was decent, nothing extraordinary about it. The salad ... was normal but the dressing was NOT. To be honest, it tasted like Wish Bone branded Italian dressing. Really unexpected but ok. The chicken kebab was .. weird. It was like chicken sausage or something. It was very salty and the kebab had like .. some sort of coating similar to a sausage? 3/10 Overall, I would not recommend this place. I really wanted to like their dishes but I was really disappointed. There dishes could be fusion - but even then i gave up after the salad dressing. No cons, just recommendations: please kick up the a/c, ask for and bring drink orders first thing (all the gratis items had been placed before we ever got our drinks so we were parched), invest in better quality napkins, consider revamping the house salad which had way too much onion and as mentioned in other reviews, the vinegar/oil dressing doesn't have a speck of herbs or seasonings so it's really blah. Also, one basket of naan bread was warm but the other was cold. Hot buttered naan bread is what would put things over the top! Overall we will be back! read more

My wife wanted Mediterranean food, and we wanted to try someplace new. Very glad we did. Zatar cheese flatbread, beef shawarma, tabouleh, lahmajun (a tomato-y beef crispy flatbread). All fresh, all delicious. Just the fresh hot flatbread they brought out with my tabouleh was worth the visit. Obviously a popular joint with the local Iraqi folks - they were the entire crowd, other than us. Branch out, try someplace different. And next time, we'll be getting a grilled kebab - they cook over charcoal. read more

It is very sad to write this bad review especially when I am Iraqi originally. :( We went there many times and enjoyed their food and freshly baked Iraqi bread. They have recently changed the portion to smaller size, no freshly baked Iraqi bread ( either they give cold bread or tortilla). the shawarma plate used to be bigger and shawarma sandwich ( the lamb beef shawarma or chicken) In last few times we ordered. I also ordered kabobs and the portion nor the rice was the same. The kabob sheesh is smaller and they used to sell 3 sheeshs of kabobs for $16 ( one pound of Iraqi kabobs) With two sides of white rice and seasoned rice ( brown-ish color) with one freshly baked bread. Now they'd charge you $17 for only two smaller sheeshs Iraqi and with only one side white rice ( no seasons) one bread cold ( it wasn't fresh) or tortilla. I am assuming management was changed but the food and their bread isn't as it was with higher prices. in last few times we had bad experiences with food and tummy ache. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend going there nor wasting your money or health. read more

Felt pleasantly cool inside on such a hot, humid day. We enjoyed the complimentary lentil soup, which tasted amazing, as well as the complimentary hummus, baba ghanouj, pita and green salad. Everything we tried tasted great -- lamb chops and tenderloin kabob with rice. Asked for water which was served as bottled water.
