I passed by this area once and noticed a sign that a new boba spot was opening up. The next time I checked, I was pleased to find it was finally open! Staff/interior: My coworkers and I decided to try out Utepia together for the first time as a pick-up order. Though a little small, the shop is subtly but pleasantly fragrant with tea. The workers there are incredibly friendly and helpful - I had some additional orders to make with my pick-up order, and they helped me pack and consolidate all the orders into a single bag. The second time I visited, they pointed out their free wifi and the chargers underneath the table (no, not just on the wall - literally on the underside of the table!). They also checked with me to see if the sweetness level was just right, and I have to say 50% is perfect for a person who likes low to moderate sugar levels. Drinks: They have quite the variety and a few seasonal drinks. I've tried two-- 1) Lychee milk tea: a pretty difficult drink to find on boba shop menus. Very very subtle taste of lychee in my opinion at 50% sugar, but one of my coworkers thought it was definitely there. I think I might try it at 70-100% sugar next time. 2) Thai milk tea: really hits the spot! It doesn't taste like powder at all (I see small bits of tea sticking to the cup as well) and has a different kick - in a good way - than the authentic thai tea flavor I'm used to. 50% sugar is peeeerfect. I haven't tried the appetizers nor desserts, but it's certainly going on my checklist! Otherwise, I highly recommend this place - I think with a neighboring boba shop opening up soon down the street, it may be up to par with, if not close to, their quality. Even with competition, I can say that Utepia will be one of the top tier bubble tea shops in New Brunswick. As someone living in New Brunswick without a car, I won't need to go out of the city to get good boba! read more

Got Jasmine Tea with Milk Foam - Got the warm one with boba and it was perfectly delicious. But warning for the lactose-intolerant that the milk foam is indeed made from regular milk. Friends got Mango Passion Oolong Tea & Osmanthus Oolong Tea (less sugar) which were yummy. read more

This place is nestled in a little nook on Bayard Street. They have a kiosk where you can order by the counter. Once your order is complete, it will send you a text. We ordered the Oreo Milk Tea and the Mango Passion Oolong Tea. It took a few to make the Mango Passion Oolong Tea, but it was worth the wait. You can tell these guys care about their product. Update: Utepia is so good that I drive out of my way to go. I usually get two, one to drink right away and one to keep to enjoy later. Absolutely authentic Taiwanese tea joint. They even have fruit teas with real fresh fruit like Taiwan unlike the chain boba places. Watched the owner carve up fresh mangos while we were there today. We had 2 brown sugar bubble milk teas, season passion fruit tea and a mango passion oolong tea. All delicious. read more

Loved the jasmine milk bubble tea (which I customized to 70% sugar). It is one of their top drinks! It's not as floral tasting as other jasmine teas I've gotten in the past.
