UThai is the quintessential Thai takeout spot. There's not much of a restaurant to speak of; the establishment consists of a kitchen and a counter, with hardly enough space to fit two people once you're in the door. Everything UThai does is perfectly fine. Not much to rave about, but not much to complain about either. The fried rices are all exactly what you're looking for on a night when you don't want to cook. The drunken noodles are spicy and rich, if not excessively greasy at times, and the pad thai is, well, very solid pad thai. The crab rangoon is a bit of a disappointment, lacking the crisp you'd like it to have, but other appetizers are a nice complement to your meal. As far as neighborhood takeout operations go, UThai is at the very least one of the best on the block, and for that they definitely deserve their flowers.

Got this for dinner last night Love this women owned business such great service the food I had was the chicken pad Thai as well as the crab rangoons for an appetizer everything was fresh well made and delicious highly recommend one of the best Thai food places around and pretty inexpensive especially the lunch specials definitely try if you are in the area!

My last 2 orders from here were Massaman Curry and Mango yellow curry. They make delicious Thai style curry and special instructions are always followed. I requested pineapples as an addition in my Mango curry, (I was feeling ADVENTUROUS) and they were abundantly added. The pieces of mango and pineapple were so juicy and complimented the dish very well. The Coconut soup is always good, but the Roti canai can be a little greasy and undercooked at times. When it is done right, it definitely hits!

I seriously LOVE UThai so much!! Thai food is a major cuisine part of my rotation and you really cannot get any better than UThai. The new Peanut Curry with broccoli, green beans, and carrots with chopped peanuts on top in a delightful peanut coconut milk curry is too notch. Out of any restaurant that serves Crab Rangoon, theirs is by far the very best with actual crab and not just cream cheese. The wonton is soft and flavorful inside and the outside incredibly crispy. The Salmon Mango salad with cashews, avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, mango, lettuce and topped with a dressing with the perfect juxtaposition of sweet and acidic sourness but in the most perfect amount. I could eat this salad daily.

Decided to try this place again so got a couple of lunch specials, each comes with an option of peanut salad, spring roll or soup; or a drink for an added $2.50 which I did for one of them. I added tapioca pearls for $1, to the thai tea, which I ended up wasting bec they were a bit hard. I asked for the mild spiciness. Chicken with basil sauce was too much on the sweet side for me. Beef drunken noodle was pale, dry and bland. Can't compare to Thai food in Elmhurst. Wanted to like this place bec it's closer but not satisfied. :(

Had takeout from here and honestly it was pretty good! Def think it could keep up with a lot of the great Thai restaurants in queens including those from woodside Ave aka little Thailand. Pleasantly surprised and a must try if you are a resident nearby. MANGO STICKY RICE - they did an amazing job w this I kept going back for more; they got the crispy soy nuts for contrast in texture and the mangoes are soooo sweet and juicy Don't miss out on the variety of Thai iced teas including mango and lemon! Chicken Larb was good, not the best but def hits the mark. Chive pancakes were on point - nice and crispy and chivey Pad Thai also good and on par Mango papaya salad is a classic and they did a good job Duck with tamarind sauce was tender ! Usually have a problem with takeout duck being dry.

This is a mostly takeout Thai place but my friend and I chose to dine in. Note it is tiny inside and only 2 small tables, both of which are tucked to the side, sandwiched between the entrance and the counter. It is also cash only which is a bit inconvenient (although they take Venmo too). Service was ok considering only one person was working the counter and they had to take orders, answer the phone, tend to the delivery people, and serve us our food. We got spring rolls, papaya salad, shrimp green curry, and veggie pad thai to share. Food was hit or miss to me. For example, the papaya salad was heavy on the fish sauce and verged on soggy. Green curry and pad thai were both decent though. They could do with a bigger rice portion with the curry but that is typical with most Thai places. Spring rolls had a nice crisp. I would say this place is a good local place for takeout or delivery but would not recommend dining in.

We order takeout from here a couples times a year when we are around the neighborhood to see family. Their food is really good and we enjoy it every time. I heard that the chef changed but the food is still consistent. Here's what we typically order: - chicken satay - 3 pieces served with peanut sauce and cucumber vinaigrette -fried chives dumplings - chive vegetable dumpling with soy vinaigrette dipping sauce - roti canai - roti flatbread served with potatoes, Massaman curry dipping sauce - green curry - coconut curry, eggplants, string beans, bell peppers, bamboo shoot -panang curry - coconut curry, belle peppers, like leaves, and string beans - pad see ew beef - stir fry flat noodles with broccoli and egg - Thai basil chicken - sautéed onions, bell peppers, in spicy basil sauce - pineapple fried rice - fried with pineapple, cashew, egg and tomato - lychee juice with lychee "meat" - Thai iced coffee - homemade Thai iced coffee with milk Highly recommend this place. We try many things on their menu and everything comes out great! The delivery man is the sweetest person and handles your delivery with care. His name is Oil. Yes, Oil. We tip him generously :)

Wow! This place is amazing with the new management every thing is great! I got new menu for them the Crab Meat Fried rice. There are the real crab meat and taste perfect. Definitely recommended!! Also, the Chicken Curry Puff is flavorful, crispy and delicious. The Thai Iced Tea and Thai Iced Coffee is nice for enjoy the food. Nice and friendly staffs. Will come back to try another dish soon!!!!

I stopped by here for lunch. It's a small establishment, probably was a takeout only place even before the pandemic. But not to bad. Very lackluster service, as if I were inconveniencing them. I ordered the curry puffs and shrimp pineapple fried rice. The curry puffs were good with the cucumber sauce. The shrimp pineapple fried rice was okay, very bland. After eating some curry puffs, I put the cucumber sauce in there to give it some kind of flavor. If I were to go back I would just grab the curry puffs and let that satisfy my lunch.

Wish I could give this place more stars. Ordered over Seamless. Delivery was a good 30minutes earlier than the ETA. For $60, the portions were TINY. Drunken noodles with shrimp was great but order was small- came with 5 small shrimps. Green curry was okay but felt slightly watered down in flavor. Roti Canai was terrible. The roti was flat and greasy, curry tasted odd; I didn't want to risk it so I tossed it out. Veggie medley was salty but flavorful, but realllly small portion, only came up to about 1/3 of the plastic container kind of small. The mango sticky rice dessert was yummy, but less than half a mango. Overall it felt like lunch portions for dinner prices. I would have to think long and hard before ordering from here again. read more

This place is an excellent option for vegetarians and vegans. It's more of a take out than restaurant but we decided to sit and eat since we didn't live close by. The customer service is wonderful, the two gentlemen were very attentive and friendly. My friend had the pineapple fried rice with chicken and loved it! I had the mock duck in a red curry sauce with veggies & it was AMAZING! We will definitely make a trip back to taste other things on the menu. **I left off 1 star because they only take cash & walked 2 blocks to Rite Aide to get cash** read more

I tried out this place for a change from the Chinese take out and Tex-mex I am used to. I got a lunch special with chicken red curry with the house soup. The red curry is mostly water with little to no coconut milk that Thai curry is known for, but it is also lacking chicken and more vegetables taking up the majority of the curry. The house soup tasted a bit bland, with some vegetables thrown in with slightly flavored water. Next time, I recommend switching to chicken stock to make it better. Good service and might try other items on the menu. read more

You are not doing a favor for me when you do something wrong! I was a loyal customer and spent 50 including cash tip! Don't want an owner after I answer the first time and he starts yelling at me to continue to call and harass me! ****read on super interesting ******* Been coming here since the first week they opened! The price and quality has slowly gotten more expensive still great portions! But who cares when the food and service is not the same! The extra veggies I ordered came rotten and tasted sour! The drunken noodles I have ordered multiple of times came with fish sauce in it! I cannot even eat it without gagging! Every other time they were on point, this time was a lesson! So many places to get food from never again from this place! Called the restaurant the lady wouldn't do anything or the manager! They yelled at me and refused what I was saying was legitimate! Then I even said please come pick it up and just replace it with a different dish! Said sorry food costs a lot of money I cannot do anything for you! I spent 50 dollars with tip and food and was treated like garbage! Next time will go to nur Thai! Always on point there and bigger portions and better food and amazing customer service! Uthai tastes like old garbage thrown in a Togo box! To make matters worse they refused to help me and after I wrote the review the owner called me three times from the restaurant and two times from his cell phone! Then when I picked up the first time and he talked back and I had nothing to say he further continued texting me which is scary! Makes me feel threatened I was just hungry! The vegetable spring rolls were crunchy and delicious! And i have to say they tasted very fresh, i also liked the dipping sauce. I ordered a chicken pad Thai and i do wish there were more flavors incorporated with the meal. It's taste kind of bland. But not so horrible to the point where i wouldn't come back and try something else. The staff is very friendly and the wait time for take out is reasonable. read more

I am so happy to have stumbled across UThai! Not only was the food very tasty, they are one of the only Thai spots delivering to Glendale! I tried the drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice, and curry puffs. Everything was delicious. The drunken noodles were really good but quite spicy. Make sure you ask for it mild or order another noodle dish if you don't like spicy food. The pineapple fried rice was really good as well, but I could of used some more pineapples in it. The curry puffs might have been one of the tastiest puffs I've ever tried. They were the size of a plump empanada, and filled will yummy potatoes and veggies. I cannot wait to order from here again. Oh, and the delivery guy rides a bike so tip generously! read more

Ordered takeout through seamless and we LOVED the veggie medley, but felt pretty meh about our pad thai that we ordered as it didn't really taste right to us. The food overall was delivered quickly and accurately, which I appreciated. If you asked whether or not I'd order from here again, the answer is yes, but I feel like I'd have to experiment with different items on the menu to see what I would and would not enjoy from this place. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time through Seamless. I must say it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and delivered hot. I ordered the 4 Golden fritters and The Massaman Curry with chicken. I asked for the curry to be extra spicy and that's what I got. The delivery time was about what was stated. Good start but there is room for improvement! Review for take out: I asked for extra spicy and I got it! Yay! It's hard to get spicy Thai food these days, like it should be! I ordered: Roti chanai - the sauce was great, the roti was doughy and heavy. Should be flaky and light! Avocado mango salad- good, a bit too much dressing. Next time I got to remember to get it on the side. Basil fried rice - meh. More like Chinese fried rice. Was expecting thai fried rice with basil! Pad cha seafood - this was actually pretty good. Huge disappointment- there is nothing worse than hard, undercooked potatoes in a curry. Add Bland flavours, tiny portions, and no vegetables to be spotted anywhere, and you got a recipe for disaster. Note: 5 Star reviews are all from family. The pretty pictures were probably prepared from promotional purposes, the actual dishes look like slop. read more

Just decided to try this place two days ago. Live in the area and was walking my dog. I noticed the outside seating and figured id stop and grab a menu. I realized it was Thai food which i dont particularly love, but my wife does. The delicious aroma of the food cooking made me freeze there and just watch for a few minutes. I suddenly got hungry. The woman was nice enough to come outside and greet me and take my order after chatting briefly about them being new management and about my dog. She recommended something off the menu and i put my trust in her. I got pineapple rice with bell peppers, tomato, scallion, egg, cashews, little basil and Chicken. About $10.00. Well i was skeptical walking home because usually Thai food is already not a favorite, and i was expecting rice swimming in coconut milk and overloaded with basil or peanuts as usual. Honestly the more i think about it the more i realize im not a fan of Thai at all!!! Well....... I wasn't. The portion was perfect. Quite large actually, nice surprise, off to a good start. The rice was fluffy and just the right amount of cooked, not mushy and soaked in oil, nor was it so sticky and clumped and almost over cooked, no... this was perfect rice. I have to say i realize this was one dish... and i have to return for more to give it an honest rating - but to make me LOVE the idea of returning to a Thai place.... takes something special. This is one of my favorite take out places! I usually get curry puffs as an appetizer and for an entree it's either pad see ew or drunken noodles with a side of peanut. Highlight : Those curry puffs are pretty big compared to other Thai restaurants I've been to and are to die for! Always craving them at least twice a week Overall this place is amazing and the prices are moderately cheap. read more

The food is better than most thai places in the surrounding area. But what i dont like is when you instruct them to put something on the side, they dont. The soup and ice tea are never really filled up so keep in mind that you paying for 3/4 of the order. Also, they charge 5$ for delivery beyond a certain mileage, but the delivery person wants to leave your food outside the building instead of your apartment door..... even pre covid. So i was thinking that if i pay 5$ for delivery and i still have to go down and get my food, why tip? Just have the basil rice...worst ever since ordering. Dry, dry, dry and absolutely no flavor. I think it's time to take a break from uthai. Will try again in a year or so. read more

All in all I really love UThai! I switched from a different Thai place I used to order from to UThai! Everything I've ordered every time for delivery has been on point and super flavorful. For example some of my favorites . The drunken noodles is sooooo yummy but def has a spicy kick to it compared to other places. They do follow directions if you ask them for mild or medium spice. The curry puffs are yummy , the wings are super crispy! The tom yum soup is a favorite here for sure ! Thai iced tea delish! The last time I ordered through grubhub the delivery was SO FAST! I couldn't believe it ! I forgot the delivery mans name but he was very nice and his name was 3 letters . I got my food in under 30 mins . That's impressive and everything is always super fresh and hot ! Highly recommend !!!! :) read more

UThai is the ONLY place I order Thai food from. It is the best restaurant. I usually order it to my apartment and they are always fast and friendly and the food comes hot. My order is always correct. Their delivery man named Oil, is the nicest person that delivers to our place. He is always friendly and says hello and is smiling. He seems to really enjoy his job because he is always so positive and happy when we see him at our door. read more

This became my fav take out spot. The Spicy basil noodle is super good and it goes together with Thai Iced tea. Its a togo place and i didn't expect super fancy 5 stars service or anything but only the food here have my 5 stars with a nice, friendly staffs who always help me is a big plus. Coming from South East Asia, the amount of heat is just nice for me. Will definitely be ordering more. I stopped in here for a quick lunch after getting my nails done next-door, I live in the neighborhood and have passed this pretty little spot a bunch of times, I hadn't eaten Thai before, so the girl at the counter suggested I try the drunken noodles, I added chicken to her choice and said I would give it a go. My lunch included a little salad with some sprouts and the most delicious peanut dressing. I was so very pleasantly surprised with this cute little neighborhood spot, the food was absolutely delicious, and the young girl at the counter, well turns out she's the owner! It started as soon as we walked into the restaurant; there was an unfortunate water leak dripping down from the ceiling, right by the entrance. Kind of weird that the staff didn't think of getting from a hardware store, one of those tarps that catches ceiling leaks and diverts the water thru a hose to a bucket... that isn't in the way of customers entering the restaurant. Anyway, we sat down, and ordered an old favorite dish, and decided to try a new one. The old favorite is the House-made Fish Cake Pho (Pho Cha Ca)! The kitchen staff hand makes the fish paste from scratch, with some kind of super addictive & flavorful spices, and I've really enjoyed it in the past. We also decided to try the Shaking Beef Rice (Com Bo Lac Lac) for the first time. Unfortunately, both dishes were disappointing. The fish cake in the pho looked and tasted like typical frozen type you can get at any Asian market... and was confirmed when we asked the staff. Where's my ATF fish cake?!? The beef cubes in the rice dish were (a) super overcooked (like beef jerky level chewy) and (b) the sauce was way, way too salty. We also noticed the restaurant manager, Ngan, wasn't working that night. Perhaps all these problems happened because she was away on holiday? And Pho99 will be back to its usual spectacular food after she returns?

Ordered the roti canai which is roti with massaman sauce- costs $7, you literally get 2 small roti bread cut into eighths and about 1 small Oz of massaman curry, they don't even bother filling the cup. The crab Rangoon includes mixed veggies (canned?) so it is different from what I've had elsewhere--which is basically just cream cheese & crab.
