    Pad Thai lunch special
    Susan R.

Excellent service at this family owned small business. I've been going here since they opened and service is consistently impeccable. The food is delish whether you stay or take-out. Businesses owners are always there and tale huge pride in their service and delivery. Thank you Ditmars Thai! We love your lunch specials and the fact that the specials run through 4pm! We ordered Pork Pad Thai and Chicken Pad See Ew lunch specials with both spring rolls and chicken dumplings as apps. I opted for the spicy pad see ew and let me tell you my mouth was literally on FIRE!! be careful what you ask for here because you just may get it! LOL Definitely please stop by and support them. Lunch specials run at $12.99 and it's the perfect portion! Cheers to good eats, always!

Small little spot. Nothing really spectacular in terms of decor or service. But the food was great and loved the portion size. Pricing is also good. Not pictured is the Tom Kha soup which was delicious! I however wish I had the option to select a different protein for it.

I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews! It's in a busy location, but this place needs more exposure. The food here was DELICIOUS! Authentic Thai cuisine! The restaurant isn't big, but you won't have an issue with seating. The owner was there and served us, very attentive and prompt. I wouldn't drive here, parking is scarce. Take the train, Uber, or walk. This is a great place for lunch or a cozy low key dinner. I recommend the drunken noodles and the chicken pops! Pricing is great as well.

I've been wanting to try Thai Food for the longest time and finally got a chance. I've been eyeing this restaurant since I went to the Thirsty Koala since it was across the street. There was no one in the restaurant it could've been because of the rain or a whole host of reasons. But the other surrounding restaurants had a load of people. We walk-in and was told that we can sit anywhere. Since I was hungry we just ordered straight away. I usually order noodles from Thai places like the Drunken Noodles which are stir fried flat noodles with chili sauce, egg, onion, bell pepper and basil (you can add whatever meat to it). My friend ordered a noodle dish too, I don't quite remember which one it was just that it wasn't spicy. I wanted it really spicy and they didn't deliver, so I asked for hot sauce and that helped me get the spice level that I was asking for. Anyways, I probably won't be returning as this place was just average for service + food. Tons of other Thai food places all over to order from if in the mood.

Favorite Thai in the area! Tasty and well portioned whether dining in or taking out. Excellent service. Simple, relaxed ambiance.

The food here is amazing! Our server (didn't get his name) but he was very attentive, his hospitality was appreciated. From the photos I thought the restaurant was big, it's actually very cozy and not loud at all, perfect for a date or just a lunch/dinner night out. I will definitely go back.

They definitely didn't tell me that lunch specials were available before I ordered my soup. Other than that, everyone is pleasant. Space: they have two sides, so plenty of space, but nights and weekends can get pretty packed, so keep that in mind. Food: I ordered Tom Yum soup and a lunch drunken noodle with a Thai iced tea. I only had the soup there and took the entire lunch special to go. Just based off of the soup, I will be going back. It was delicious and PACKED to the MAX! Writing this now, I can still imagine. Drunken Noodles were also really tasty. I like mine spicy and it could have been made spicier, but that's not even a real complaint. Also- the one next to me had this dish which reminded me of pad see ew but in a gravy. Looked delicious!! I will be back for whatever she had. Overall: the entire block is like a little Thai street. There are lots of Thai food options and I finally made it to Ayada. Super happy with my meal and excited to go back with some people and enjoy.

There were a few tables seated but it was a bit dead ( then again, it was around 4:30 so it was between lunchtime and dinner). The price felt decent and comparable to elsewhere. The pad kee mao was okay as I never had it before but I do feel like it was a bit too heavy on the dark soy and molasses sweetness. It wasn't overbearingly strong but it was a bit more than I would've liked. The BBQ pork was pretty good. It had a good amount of fat and was nice and tender. It also had that BBQ char making it very enjoyable

Surf & turf skewers: My least favorite dish of the night. I found most of the skewers a bit dry. Larb beef & tripe: the Larb was super flavorful and delicious. Salt encrusted tilapia: I wish there was a bigger vermicelli noodle portion on the side but I really liked the tilapia. The steak was the only dish that showed any sign of life. Everything else tasted as if it had been rinsed with water before being served--completely stripped of seasoning, aroma, and any trace of authentic Thai flavor. It's astonishing that a restaurant with such a strong reputation could produce food that's less flavorful than the faux Thai takeout spots tucked inside Chinese restaurants off the Ohio Turnpike. That's not an exaggeration. What's even more baffling is the location. In the heart of Queens, surrounded by Thai restaurants serving bold, vibrant, unapologetically flavorful food, Zaab Zaab somehow manages to be a culinary desert. The fried rice was bland, the drunken noodles were lifeless, and the pad kra pao lacked the punch, basil, heat, and savoriness that define the dish. It honestly felt as though the menu had been engineered for diners who think black pepper is adventurous. Instead of authentic Thai flavors, everything seemed toned down to the point of being unrecognizable. For a restaurant with this reputation, the meal was a massive letdown. There are countless nearby Thai restaurants that deliver the bold, aromatic flavors Thailand is known for. Save your money and your appetite for one of them.
