Another great place! Was looking for something different for dinner tonight as a colleague and I…read morewere traveling in the area. We started the week out at a chain restaurant that was horrible, but has been very good since as we have hit up various local establishments. Chowder House did not disappoint either. Sort of odd for us that several of these local restaurants are secluded and in the middle of a residential area. Chowder House has a little strange entryway so when you walk in you have the feeling of not really knowing where you're going. You are greeted with a large fish tank though which is perfect. Once inside, the place opens up and there is plenty of seating. Very nice seafood Decore throughout the restaurant. Very friendly and knowledgeable server this evening. She named off several specials that were available, and didn't have to read a thing. Many of the items are made fresh daily so this is a high-quality restaurant. We both ordered the clam chowder which was really good. My colleague ordered the Pirates seafood platter which came with shrimp, fish, fries and coleslaw. I had one of the specials which was shrimp and squash ravioli. This was extremely good. I mentioned as we were leaving that if we had eaten here earlier in the week, I would definitely have eaten here again. Many items on the menu to select from, and I would love to try more however leaving town in the morning. The price is right as well. We were out the door with tip for around $50. Very good for seafood. If you enjoy seafood, I highly suggest and recommend this location.

After hearing rave reviews from multiple friends, we finally gave the Chowder House a try. We loved…read morethe nostalgic, 1970s charm of the interior, but the meal itself was highly disappointing due to a major grease issue. The Food: Fried Artichoke Hearts ($7.50): Not crispy at all and very greasy. The dipping sauce lacked seasoning and just tasted like heavy oil. Snow Crab Legs ($39): 4/5 stars. A little overcooked, but overall tasty and the highlight of the meal. Fried Fish Sandwich ($11) & Fries: The bread on the sandwich was delicious, but both the fish and the fries were incredibly greasy. This spot is always packed and clearly has a loyal following, so I don't know what happened during our visit. I usually adhere to a three-strike rule before judging a restaurant, but the food was heavy enough that we won't be returning.

Karma Asian Fusion was a bit of a mixed experience for us…read more First, the positives: the restaurant smelled fantastic when we walked in, which always builds your expectations right away. The portion sizes are very generous, the takeout service was quick, and everything was packaged well, which is always appreciated when bringing food home. The challenge for us came with the flavor and texture of the food. Because this is clearly fusion cuisine, it's understandable that the dishes won't taste exactly like traditional versions, even if they share the same names. That said, many of the dishes we ordered were very vinegar-forward, which ended up overpowering most of the other flavors. The egg rolls had a great crisp, but unfortunately they were extremely oily, to the point that biting into one resulted in a mouthful of oil. The noodles were interesting but arrived as one solid clump stuck together, and overall the dish felt quite bland despite the strong vinegar notes. Both myself and my dining companion experienced stomach discomfort fairly quickly, likely from the grease level. While the portion sizes were impressive, we both agreed there was no chance we would be eating the leftovers. Our roommate also tried some of the chicken and ended up spitting it out because of the strong sour/vinegar flavor. One suggestion I would make is considering different naming for some dishes. When menu items use traditional names, diners often expect something closer to the classic flavor profile. With fusion cooking, setting expectations differently might help avoid that mismatch. Another small suggestion would be offering a choice of noodles, as that could add some flexibility to the dishes. Overall, Karma Asian Fusion does a few things well -- generous portions, quick service, and good takeout packaging -- but the flavor balance and oil level just didn't work for us personally.

The white rice was great with the bourbon sauce and some added soy sauce. Ordered via DoorDash and it was still great and packaged in a sealed grocery bag.

A friend and I came here late one Friday night (around 7PM) for wings on a snowy night. The place…read morewas busy with take-out orders, and several groups were sitting at tables. It was loud, cramped, and a bit dark inside, which reminded me of a bar setting even though it wasn't at all set up like one. It was also cold, because every time the front door opened a cold breeze blew in. We ordered 30 bone-in wings and two drinks and it was over $50. I guess that is how it goes. The wings varied in size from normal to huge. No tiny wings in the bunch, and they were a good mix of flats and drumsticks. We got Buffalo, Barbecue, and Hawaiian flavors. I never got to try the Buffalo but the other two flavors were good. However, they were smothered in sticky sauce which got cloying after awhile and completely rendered your fingers disgusting. A roll of paper towels at the counter helped, though I had to go back after every couple of wings for more. The Hawaiian had a strong ginger flavor which was different and enjoyable. However, in sum I think they need to use less sauce in the future. Drinks were via the all-in-one soda machine that seems to have a million flavors on tap. It is right by the door and the area was crowded, so getting to the machine wasn't easy. It was fun to go out for wings, though it wasn't cheap. I rarely eat wings anymore so I can't say if the prices were fair or not, but they were good wings.

Ewwww! Poor service…read more- I walked in to an empty store with several workers in the kitchen. I stood looking at them occasionally glancing my way while they busily prepared orders. Despite my standing under the PLACE ORDER HERE sign for greater than 6 minutes no one ever acknowledged my presence. I suppose one of the workers felt me staring a hole in his back so he turned around and our eyes met. I gestured to the cash register and the sign with a questioning expression. His sassy response was "Just a minute ma'am. There's only one person that works the register" Questionable food handling - as I waited for my order I watched EVERY SINGLE WORKER touch the order screen then handle the food with their bare hands. I even witnessed an incident where Mr. Only Cashier picked up a packed order bag, opened it, took out 2 orders of fries covered them with his whole bare hand and transferred them to a different order bag. He then sealed the 1st order back up, put on the shelf where it was, and got back to it. Two important takeaways: there is a sign posted about how serious they take hand washing Mr. Only Cashier did get some hand foam on a dispenser before he took my order. But he didn't get any on the return trip to the kitchen. 10/10 would not recommend!

We had not been in awhile since new management took over, endless shrimp was removed, and food and service just were not the same. When we heard endless shrimp had returned we knew we had to go back. Mind you prices for participating in the shrimp free for all has gone up substantially and will set you back 29.99 a person. For me I can no longer eat like that so bowed out of the free for all. My partner in crime was totally on board for participating n the free for all.... While plates come out steadily food quality and taste are just not there. Given the price endless shrimp is no longer the deal it used to be and for the price would rather order quality seafood. The restaurant is in clear need of TLC and has not been updated in many years. Sad as days gone by I remember when endless shrimp was in full swing there would be a wait for a table with all three dining rooms open. Unfortunately, the place is like a tired ghost town which is sad to see and would not be surprised to see it close.
