I don't like going to the doctor but I always check the menu online before my appointments and it cheers me up to know I'm going to have a nice meal, prepared by kind people, for a reasonable price.

Chicken Motaccioli with garlic bread and cauliflower, $7.29.

I came here a few times this month. The food selection is pretty bare bones and not the best. They have 3 food stations, but 1 was closed whenever I went in. The other two offer fried foods or a choice of 2 entrees that day. The hot food that wasn't fried was just ok. The fish and chips I had was all right; can't really ruin frozen, fried food. They have a Theo chocolate stand and several other candy and snack brands located by the cashiers. Sometimes there was 1 cashier open; other times, there were up to 3. They keep the seating area pretty clean. Sat at a table that wasn't wiped down well one time, no big deal, just moved.

"What's in this photo?" Good question. The kitchen claims it is oatmeal, but I have eaten paste that is way better than this.

The only reason this place gets two stars is because they make a good pizza. Breakfast is as horrible as it looks. The problem here is that they believe that they have a captive clientele, so they turn out a truly horrible product. That is how monopolies typically work. Too bad that the folks running the operation don't have to compete to keep their jobs. If they did, they wouldn't have them for long. Lunch and dinner are better, but they shouldn't serve the crap they serve for breakfast. Luckily, the bathrooms are conveniently located just around the corner from the exit, so you can rid your body of what you just ingested.

This place is simple and mainly serves to provide convenience so that you don't have to venture to the cafeteria on the 1st floor... or worse yet, the vending machines. This place also stays open much much later (4:00 am, every day) than the the cafeteria and the gift shop (which also sells some snacks and coffee)--- see the pic I posted for the updated hours since what was originally reported was way off. Due to that convenience, it also tends to have a line during the morning and early afternoon hours, and every time I've walked by. There is no seating area since it's a small shop but the UWMC has tables and chairs outside; just past the Cascade elevators. Today I stopped by at around 5:00 pm and luckily there was only one person in front of me. I bought a Smokey Chicken Bacon Melt (pre-packaged). It was very tasty and probably would've been even better if I toasted it, or at least heated it up. But I was too lazy. Although it was delicious, the size was certainly not worth about $7.50 (includes tax). Probably would only stop by here again if I actually want a coffee or don't have the time to go to the cafeteria for food.

If we order from Door Dash, the fees are extreme and you are paying 50% more than necessary. Stop being so cheap and pay someone overtime to work nights.

But honestly? The energy worked. The staff was moving with that calm, unbothered flow only seasoned baristas have. Friendly, attentive, and somehow keeping the line moving without making anyone feel rushed. Respect. Light was flooding every corner; that soft Seattle glow that makes you want to pull out your journal and pretend you live inside a cozy indie film. Ventilation was perfect. Temperature was perfect. Seating options? Abundant. And not the awkward wobbly kind either. This spot is built for lingering. I grabbed a latte, sat down, and immediately fell into an art journaling trance. There's something about being surrounded by curated shelves of books and cute little treasures that just unlocks your brain. It's the kind of place where you look up after ten minutes and somehow an hour passed. This was my first visit, but it's already on my list of "places I'll actually come back to and get work done." A rare category, honestly. If you're looking for a café that feels like a creative reset button; this is a great one.

Visiting from out of town so not sure when I'll be able to go back but would like to someday. Found parking easily (might've been lucky) and enjoyed the ambiance. They were vibing Khruangbin, one of my faves. Classy and clean flooring and counters. Just barely got the last seat on a Monday at 11am. Definitely the type of place where folks come to park themselves for hours rather than WFH from their dreary studio apt. All good. Recommend!

Their signature Panela Latte is an absolute must-try and my go too but you can't go wrong with a classic latte from here. Their drinks are always consistent and not overly sweet. I love open space and the natural lighting that comes. The cafe does however tend to get crowded so most of the time I've had to take my drink to go. If you are able to get a seat I think it's a great place to get your work done as the cafe has a very relaxed environment.
