Craving some NY pizza and we found this place. Lots of choices on the menu, but we ordered a large Pepperoni and pesto pizza with garlic knots. We got talking to the owner, while we waited for the food to bake and he was a really nice guy with great plans for the future of his business. First off the garlic knots weren't what I expected, since I was thinking of just plain knots with garlic butter on it, but these had pesto and cheese melted on. It had great flavors, don't get me wrong, but it was just on the soggier side given the bread was under all that cheese. The pizza was delicious and thin, so the New York style was definitely there. Just wish it had a little more pesto and that it was on the drier side, since it was very oily. Other than that, the beef pepperoni we were told he uses were really tasty. Overall, pretty good food. Meh. This place isn't bad but man do they overcharge for toppings. $2.50 per topping no matter the topping. I got maybe 3 mushrooms per slice and litterally 1 basil leaf per slice. All of that is fine but don't charge so much. There's no reason 8 basil leaves should cost me more than 50¢. Decided to try Uzy's NY Pizza on a Sunday afternoon. It is a small place with a few tables. It is darker in the seating area. I decided to take it to go today. I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and fresh jalapeños. I was informed the pepperoni is beef and not pork. He said the flavor is much better...better flavor, better pizza. The pizza smelled really good. Couldn't wait to try it. Soooo I did ask if the jalapeños were fresh or pickled. He said fresh, but they were pickled, not my favorite. So after picking off the pickled jalapeños, I will say the pizza is really good. The sauce has great flavor. There was a good amount of cheese and the pepperoni was tasty. The crust was a little thicker and chewier than I expected, but I did like it. I will order from here again, just won't include the jalapeños. read more

So when I first moved to Arlington, I was searching for pizza and came across this restaurant, but it did not deliver via any of the services. It also appeared to be a little out-of-the-way for me to just go and pick it up. So I never tried it because I just Didn't have time to go venture out and pick it up and then come back to eat it. So I was so excited when I was on Uber Eats and saw it pop up. I ordered quickly because it is on my list of places to try in Arlington. I have to say that it did not disappoint. I ordered a large half pepperoni, half pepperoni, sausage, onion, pizza. I know it sounds a little weird, but quite tasty if you get the right combination. Now because this is a New York pizza place I will say that I prefer just pepperoni. I say this because on New York pizza, nothing is better than just plain old pepperoni with mozzarella cheese. Found this New York pizzeria to be more like New York pizza than any other I have tried lately. It still lacks the correct crust and breading but again I think that is because there is something up with the water or how they use the water for the dough that is only Available for bagels and pizza in New York. I do think that also Pennsylvania uses a bread for their cheese steaks that is similar to the technology or the recipe for New York bread. Then I will say the thing that was different for this pizza versus New York pizza is the sauce. It was a good sauce, but it wasn't quite authentic in that it's very thick and it seemed like they added sugar to it. New York pizza doesn't have thick pasty sauce. It's a very light tangy with a hint of sweetness type of a sauce. So I did find the sauce was a little overpowering, but the mozzarella was fresh. They use a beef pepperoni, which I still think I prefer to have pork or a mixture of beef and pork pepperoni. I find that beef pepperoni just doesn't have that kick that, the other pepperoni has when you taste it. I also ordered the garlic knots. These garlic knots were better than the last place I tried, but I was a little confused because I ordered spaghetti too, and both plates looked exactly alike. So for a moment, I thought that I didn't have garlic knots. However, they do something where they make the garlic knots, and then they put the sauce on them and mozzarella cheese. I really didn't think this was going to work when I looked at it because I thought the bread would be very soggy and I wasn't sure what I thought of having sauce already on my knots because typically you dip them versus having the sauce already placed on it for you. But strangely or oddly enough, the knots did not get soggy and I even refrigerated them and ate them a couple days later and they were just as delicious as they were the night that I ordered them. My son tried the pizza as well and he's a pretty finicky pizza eater in regards to pepperoni pizza. He said this was one of the best pizza he ever had. I would take that as a very high compliment because he is so picky that normally he doesn't eat a lot of different pizzas and the fact that he ate two pieces of this one. He said it was delicious. I tend to hold that in high regard. He is a nine-year-old so take that for what it's worth. The spaghetti was not a fan of it. It was really too much of that thick sauce and it was all over the noodles and the meatballs were just like nothing special. They were like those kind of meatballs that you buy at Kroger and then you mix them in there with Ragu or Prego and then eat them. But these weren't even as good as the Kroger ones. These were like some tasting this round silky ball. So I didn't ding a star for the spaghetti because really pizza is the star here. So would just say the spaghetti wasn't for me, and if you are a person that tends to not like your noodles drowned in a very thick basic sauce with a grocery store meatball, this is not for you either. So overall five stars and I will order the pepperoni pizza again. I may put a notation to be light on the sauce since this sauce is the direction that they choose to go in and it isn't bad it's just not my preference. So all in all a really good meal. Listen here, the hype is real. I'd seen more than a few "Real Arlington Foodies" Facebook postings about this place being spectacular. Even folks who are always against anything worth raving about liked this place. The pictures looked exquisite. One day I decided to check it out. I had to get a cheese pizza, of course. Simple is best when you want to test the style and the crust. I also picked up a white pizza. When I ordered the young lady on the phone said "would you like our garlic pesto sauce, too. It's really popular." So, I decided to do it! I was so glad I did. It was really fresh and silky. Great flavor, too. The crust was that thin, New York foldable style, which I enjoyed. The place was clean. The staff friendly. Super talkative and helpful. It's a ways down Matlock in Mansfield, but I can imagine I will one day venture that way again. read more

I got the supreme pizza and their garlic knots. I never had NY pizza before, but I know that I'll be visiting UZY again. Their garlic knot has a sauce on the bottom and layer on top of it. It's was really good and soft. The supreme pizza was thin crust, and it was delicious. I don't know how they do their cheese, but it pulled everything together. I'd been meaning to try Uzy's since it opened. Now I'm regretting that I waited so long. It checked all my boxes. The crust is thin but still has a great chewy texture. The sauce was perfect. The pepperoni was perfect. It was all perfect. The service is fast and friendly and the price is reasonable. I seriously bought one, ate a slice while I ran a few errands (yeah, I'm one of those), and then went back to get another one before I went home. We tried Uzy's New York Pizza for the very first time last night. Had a pepperoni pizza and a combination pepperoni/italian-sausage/onion/mushroom pizza. Wow! Thin crust was the perfect combination of crisp & chewy, with great flavor. It was a meatball pasta with the tastiest red sauce I've ever purchased. The meatballs were light and didn't interfere with the sauce. I saved some for my close friend, but ended up eating it myself at breakfast the next morning. Try it you'all. The owner's son had great customer service as well, as he prepared the food with pride and told me how I would love it. He wasn't wrong.
