I have used V Fix on 3 different occasions. Twice to replace a cracked iPhone screen on the same iPhone and once to fix broken hinges on a flip laptop computer. The iPhone screen replacement wax extremely quick 15 minutes both times and the price was much lower than what I was quoted at the apple store; however the screen is generic and it will differ a little but the phone will be functional. Both times the wife of the owner was so nice and gave me a free screen protector. The laptop hinge issue fix was ok but the time was extremely long as the owner was ordering parts and there was a wait. I think more communication would have gone a long way. All in all I would recommend V fix for a quick iPhone fix. read more

We had an iPad that we were trying to unlock. Was charged and the iPad was given back to us within a week. The unlocking did not take hold and we had to go back to the store to get them to credit us the cost of the repair. They asked if they could try it again and we agreed to let them have another go at it. We should have just walked out the door at that point. It took 4 more trips to the store before we recovered the locked iPad. They were very apologetic, but it took 4 MORE trips to the store to recover the iPad. read more

Avoid this business. They are not honest. I went on a Sunday asking if they have Paperlike for the new iPad Pro. He told me he could get it in the next day and install it for me. I paid $77 which is much higher than the retail cost of $39.99 but the installation was worth it for me. He was supposed to call me back the next day when it arrived. I explained that it was for my niece who was leaving with the iPad on a flight on Wednesday and so it needed to be installed by then. Never once did I receive a call from him with an update. I had to call each & every time. On Tuesday he explained that he would have it for me the next morning and would call. I then called after dropping my niece at the airport saying it was too late and to cancel the charge. He refused and said that he would only do it if the company he bought it from would credit him. Again, he said he would call me once he heard back. I followed up again in person and he repeated the same claim. my son sent his Mac book to them last summer for speaker issues. They kept it all Summer and returned it not working at all. Since they swapled the battery they wouldn't refund our money nor would they fix what they broke. I just found out that they never fixed it last summer. my son gave up on fighting it because he didnt have time to keep fighting but they kept the $300. I have to agree with Natalya B--they do not even deserve 1 star. The fact that this business has not registered with the Better Business Bureau should tell you everything. The screen of a brand new Surface Pro, which I purchased in December, cracked 3 months later in March. It was crazy--I never dropped it or anything, and always kept it securely in a padded case. I first took it to U Break I fix, and they advised me to take it to Microsoft and that Microsoft would charge me $450 to fix it. I stupidly tried for a second opinion, and took it to V-Fix. At first they were so nice and tried to be helpful, saying they could fix it, and gave me a "break" in the price--for $475--and assured me they would fix it. Literally, right after they put the new screen on, the FIRST USE, it cracked in the same place, and in even more places with deeper cracks. I took it to Microsoft. They diagnosed that V-Fix had put on a faulty screen which did not fit properly and tried to force it onto the device. They also said that there was something wrong with the original screen, as it should not have cracked so easily. And they told me that they would sell me a brand new one for less than I paid for this stupid screen from V-Fix. Worse yet, In March right after it cracked I texted the manager, and he promised over and over again to replace the screen. Then for months he kept putting me off and putting me off. We had our first text conversation in April when he told me he would replace it again. We went back and forth, and he kept telling me that the manufacturer of the screen--who was his BROTHER IN LAW--would not work with him, that it must have been my fault, that I must have dropped it, even though I told him what Microsoft had said! Finally, I told him that I was going to dispute the charges on my credit card (which I am in the process of doing now), and he got angry and sent some nasty text messages. While I was first waiting for the screen, before all this happened, I purchased an aux cord which also didn't work and was incredibly staticey, and then an Iphone case which they put onto my phone and then I couldn't use the volume or power buttons. Writing this review on behalf of a friend who just had a horrible experience at this store. TL;DR - I would be very surprised if this shop was certified to perform even basic electronics repair. Not only was the quality of the repair sub-par, but the way these clowns interacted with my friend was appalling and completely unprofessional. Also, of the three 5-star reviews of this place, one is by the owner, another appears to be fake, and one appears to be legitimate. I highly recommend taking your electronics to another shop-avoid this place at all costs. Alright, now on to the full-fledged review: My friend's iPhone 6 took a swim and had a cracked screen . She brought it in to see if it was salvageable and if she could get the screen replaced. The man she spoke to looked at the phone and said he could repair the phone "100%," which included a screen replacement. Given this guarantee, my friend decided to allow this sham shack to do the repair. When she returned to pick up the phone, she noticed the replacement screen was significantly dimmer (darker) than the original, to the point where it was hard to see anything on the screen. When she sent the phone back, the guy she spoke to said that the dark screen was normal, and that it was just something she had to deal with as a result of the replacement screen. Eventually the shop caved and said they'd try and fix the dark screen. Fast forward another 24 hours (to today, June 7th) and my friend goes to pick her phone up from the shop. When she brought the phone to her car, the phone died completely. She went back to the shop-the phone's 4th visit to this little house of horrors-and asked for her money back. The lady who was there at the time went absolutely berserk, screaming about how it was my friends' fault and that the phone wasn't repairable due to the water damage. She claimed they were a fully certified shop, but no certifications were visible. Given my friend's interactions with this place, I sincerely doubt they are a certified Apple repair shop. Luckily for my friend, the shrill, vindictive lunatic who was working the shop at the time became exhausted and caved to a full refund. However, it's clear to me that they tried to take advantage of her, made promises they couldn't keep, and did not know what to do when we called them on their BS. Now that my friend has her money back, she'll be taking her business to a fully certified shop or purchasing a new phone. Now, I can identify a few red flags that lead me to believe this repair shop is a scam, which I've outlined below: ***First red flag-they bartered on price. Any fully-certified repair shop will have fixed prices depending on what they find in their diagnostic testing. She "bartered" them down to $100 for the screen replacement. ***Second red flag-the store guaranteed a 100% repair and then backtracked when my friend noticed something was wrong. ***Third red flag-certified repair shops can and should order replacement screens from the same suppliers that supply the originals. There should be no difference in quality between the original screen and the replacement screen. So either the phone was more damaged than originally thought (due to the water damage), or this scam house used non-certified parts for the repair. If it was the first option, he should have been upfront, acknowledged the phone was beyond repair, and offer a refund since he had previously guaranteed a full repair. ***Fourth red flag-screaming at customers. Even if it is the customers' fault, you don't scream at them. That's basic business knowledge. ***Fifth red flag-blaming the customer for a problem they acknowledged, and that they said they could repair 100% Avoid, avoid, avoid. read more

I brought my phone into them to replace the back glass on my iPhone XS. They said it would be an hour , they could replace the frame and it would have new glass on it. The women in front started to take my phone apart. Un screwing the bottom to open it up. She kept looking at random junk iphones in her desk drawer. I didn't understand that at the time. Then they called me and said they need to take the phone to there warehouse , the frame they were using was damaged. I realized they were going to give me a used iPhone frame and back glass. Now since they didn't have it they had to replace my back glass using there laser. They said it would be back in 24 hours. Nope! Kept pushing it back. Finally I received my phone. The back glass looked good. Put it in its case and came home. Now a couple weeks later my phone starts rattling like something is loose inside. I'm guessing it's the battery. I purchase a new battery and look to the bottom of my phone for the two screws. One is missing and one is stripped. They were the only people that had ever taken this phone apart. I drove back over to show the owners what I had found. No apologies nothing. They said it was tampered with. No one else had touched this phone. He said he could try and pry on the front screen to see if he can remove it to get the stripped screw out but it wouldn't be on him if it broke. What! Your the one who got me into this position. Then he started telling me it wasn't the battery making that noise. Also what ever screws they take out they put back in. I had enough I asked them to show me what the screw looked like and then when she pulled out a bag of parts and screws. I asked for a second one and left. Do not use this place. They are frauds!!!! I came home and started to now mess with my phone. I was able to separate my screen and not only was the screw stripped but the tab the screw holds onto on the digitizer was bent flat. I began inspecting the inside of my phone and found the battery not taped down. As I assumed from the noise! But no he told me it was in the store it wasn't the battery!!! I found two tiny screws missing that holds down the metal bracket of the battery and digitizer plugs. This place is owned by liars and frauds! Do not risk your device with this company. Tried to save a few bucks, but I got what I paid for. They replaced a cracked screen on an iPhone but the work was shoddy: the home button became loose within a couple weeks. When I brought the phone back and told them that I wasn't satisfied, they told me that they can only refund half of what I paid - and not before they reinstalled my cracked screen! I asked how he still had my cracked screen, and how would he know that it came from my phone? His response: "I have a lot of cracked screens." Lol. read more

I didn't even want to give V Fix 1 star! Do NOT let them touch your phone! Brought iPhone 7Plus in for repair of the display screen. Owner told me it would take hour / hour and a half to repair. I came back 2 hours later and it wasn't done, the phone was giving him trouble. I took his # down and called a hour later and he said it was almost done I should come and when I do to bring cash because his CC machine wasn't working. When I told him I only had a CC to use, he texted me to go to an ATM or come back Tuesday. I called him at that point and he said the phone was still not "100 percent working" so I should come in the morning. The next day I texted him and asked was my phone ready and he said yes but bring Cash. I let my boyfriend talk to him and he said he didn't want me to use a CC because he had to pay a merchants tax of 1.9 percent ....smh He told the store owner the form of payment I chose to use was my CC and I was on my way to get my phone! When I got there the phone appeared to be working.(New screen) The back of the phone was now Rose Gold and he told me he had to change it because mine was bent...okay fine. My phone had been reset (without my consent) I asked if I could set it up to make sure it worked...he said ok- I tried to restore my phone from the last backup and it wouldn't connect to WIFI. We tried powering off about 4 times and at that point I was like let me go to the Apple store and see what's the issue. He refused that option but I went anyway. Long story short, when swapping my back out he took out or broke the WiFi box and the Bluetooth box after they ran a Diagnostics test. They were blown away that he had did this and was positive that's what took so long to fix the phone because he was swapping my parts out and actually expected me to Pay $200 for a phone that doesn't work. Since the nightmare below, I've gotten my money back via my CC and had it professionally repaired by Modern Tech on Lawrence. V Fix doesn't even deserve 1 star. May 22, paid for replacement parts and service by phone so as to expedite it. Mgr didn't call me the next day to let me know if the parts were in. May 24, I called mgr, and he apologized but that he had the part. May 25, Friday, Traveled 16.5 miles round trip to have my Galaxy 7s Edge repaired. The replacement piece was damaged, so we set up plans to return on Wednesday May 30. Mgr told me that he would call to confirm for Wednesday, but he never called. May 29, Tuesday, I called the mgr that evening and he said that the repair person was not available, so I should wait another week. I explained that I was leaving on vacation on June 4 (Tuesday) and couldn't wait longer, plus I had already paid. He insisted that he would do anything possible to fix it and keep me happy. He promised that if I brought it on Friday June 1, and could keep it overnight, he would get it fixed. I explained that my job requires me to use the cell phone to work so that was not possible. He then promised that if I dropped it off on Sunday June 3rd in the afternoon at the store, his brother in law would fix it that evening and he would come and bring it to me. I explained that I was far, but I'd meet him somewhere to make it easier for him. June 3, Sunday, I drove to his store from the far side of Chicago where I was working (~50 miles round trip), and dropped it off. He once again promised to call me. Several hours later he hadn't called so I contacted him and he said that they were working on it. Eventually around 10 pm he text and said that it was ready. I chose a midpoint, but he asked if I could come to him since it was far and he was watching basketball. I again explained that he offered to bring it to me. He modified the dropoff point but it was still closer to him. I went to the location and waited some time for him to arrive since he took longer than the 15 minutes that he said it would take. Once at the pick-up location, he insisted on charging my credit card first, and then giving me the phone. Once he gave me the phone, he got back in the car and took off quickly. I checked the phone and found that the multitask button was not working at all, and the home button was broken (both worked originally). Aside from that, there were multiple scratches and cracks all around the phone, which initially was perfect due to being in a case its entire life. I called to tell him, and he apologized but said that he would get the replacement parts the next day (Monday June 4) and he would meet me again first thing in the morning to get the phone fixed immediately. He insisted that he'd do anything to make me happy. June 4, Monday, He didn't call, so I called around 930 am, and he said that he couldn't meet me because he was at the store and I had to take it to him. I had no choice but to again take the 16.5 mile round trip to his store and drop it off. I expressed how important it was to have it back that night since I was traveling the next day (Tuesday June 5), and he agreed. He promised to call me as soon as it was fixed that night and that he'd meet me. I waited for the call, but it never came. I checked with him around 10 pm and he texted back that they were at his store working on it and he'd contact me soon. He finally messaged after midnight and said that it was done, but he wouldn't meet due to the hour so I had to go to his store again. June 5, Tuesday, I worked all day on setting up my last minute travel plans, and left very early so that I could deviate and go to his store again. I arrived only to find his wife there speaking to the mgr via phone, and him having her tell me that he did all he could do to fix the home button but that it was the best they could do. I looked at the phone and half of it had gaps between the screen and body large enough to stick my nail in, the entire back piece had gaps in it, the screen itself was chipped at the bottom, the Recent and Back keys were extremely scuffed and partially blurred, the backplate had been painted in with a black marker where they scratched it bad, and the battery was at 20%. His wife apologized profusely and spent about 15 minutes redoing the back piece. I then told her that he didn't call me the night before as promised and she became flustered. After two days, the home button was clicking side to side and randomly not recognizing my fingerprint, the top left of the screen didn't work at random times, the screen had cracks on the edges, the casing was scratched all around, and the 'multitask' and 'back' buttons were scuffed up very badly from the inside. Additionally, when I removed the case to take pictures of the damaged phone, a pixel line appeared. I have purchased pre-owned iphones and have had all my repairs done with them regarding cracked screens as well as other defects I have had with my apple iphone. In comparison to spending hours at apple, paying even more money, or even being conned into buying a new cell phone from apple the no brainer decision is to head over to V Fix. They can do it all there and have reasonable price points and are flexible. All in all at the end of the day I hate having to spend money on phone repairs but mistakes happen. If you're like me you read some of these bad reviews and thought "Whatever, this place can't be that bad. What's the worst that could happen?" Well, I'm here to tell you why you should TURN AWAY NOW! In short, they sold my SIM card to someone else and broke my phone. Seriously, run don't walk away. My phone wasn't charging well so I brought it here because the Apple store didn't have any appointments left for the day. I walked into the shop and the first thing that hit me was the awful smell. The owners have some kind of small animal cage behind the counter, not sure what's in there but the whole place reeks. Bad sign #1. Despite this, I left my phone for 30 min while they diagnosed the issue. I came back after the 30 min and they asked for another 15. No big deal. However, when I came back again, they asked if they could keep it overnight. They never asked for contact info or anything, which felt odd, so I decided against it. How would they even know who to give the phone back to the next day? I told them I would take my phone back for now and think about it. They looked a bit confused and couldn't find my phone for a minute. They tried to give me another phone and asked "Is this yours?" No, it wasn't. Eventually I got it back and got out of there. Unfortunately, the damage was already done. When I got home I realized my phone would no longer turn on at all, and there was some really severe scratching along the side of the case. The next day, my family started getting strange texts from my phone number and thought they were from me. On a hunch, I popped open my SIM card slot and found that my phone had NO SIM CARD! V Fix had taken it out and not replaced it! They had no reason to take it out in the first place, and I realized all the scratching on the side of the phone was from them trying to pry open the SIM slot without the proper tools. I used a friend's phone to text my own number, now being used by a stranger, to let them know that V Fix had messed up. This person responded that they had just bought this new phone today, and told us to stop texting them. To me it sounds like V Fix intentionally sold them a new phone with my SIM, knowing that my phone was toast and wouldn't be turned on anytime soon, hoping I wouldn't notice the SIM was missing, and hoping the other customer (or the owners themselves) would be able to use my service for free in the meantime. Why else would they have removed my SIM in the first place? And even if they did, why would they not have replaced it with the other phone's SIM if it was just an accidental swap? Super suspicious. I called my carrier to suspend my line, and then called V Fix to let them know the issue. I approached it as if it was a mistake since I didn't want to rush to judgement. The owner at first apologized and said they must have swapped it. I said okay no problem, can you help me get it back? Do you have the person's contact info you gave it to? They said no. I said okay, then could they reimburse me for the cost of a new SIM with my carrier? The owner said no and starting getting agitated. I tried to reason with the guy but he quickly started yelling over the phone and flipped out. Crazy and unprofessional.
