N6. Pad Woonsen level 5 (highest) hotness!
    Wesley R.

I always get the Pad WoonSen spice Lv3-4 but I was adventurous and tried the Lv5! Unfortunately, food won but I was sooo close to finishing it . If you finish then you don't pay and they have not been conquered as of yet ! Even though it was spicy , it was still very flavorful as always . I realized the last bit which was just noodle and spice and my pellet couldn't handle it . I will try it again at some point again for sure .

Wonderful hidden gem tucked in the corner ofa strip mall, very easy to miss. But inside it's a lovely setting serving perfect Vietnamese and Thai cuisine. The pho I had was perfect in every respect. Price was very reasonable, especially with the lunch discount. The owner is Vietnamese and an absolutely wonderful person, very congenial and easy to converse with. The "V" in V Thai stands for Vietnamese, and unless you research it on Yelp, you'd never know it is the specialty of the house. Important because I'm not a Thai food fan. I'm glad I discovered this little restaurant; it's on my list and I'll definitely be back!

"Large" won ton soup. Not sure why filling the container close to the top is a problem. It was for us!

We liked the previous Thai restaurant in this location but always open to change, we tried V Thai tonight during a Covid take out. The menu has good selections, plenty of variety. The food was average quality with some basic mistakes. The dishes are a combo of Thai and Vietnamese with higher than they should be pricing. Dishes range from $16-26 and nothing special for the $$$. It seems that today's Asian restaurants use the word fusion as cause enough to jack up the menu. Not impressed. Ordered a large wonton soup and received the attached picture, very short on broth. Green curry with tofu was mediocre, too pasty and the tofu had an off flavor. Glass noodles with shrimp was good except the shrimp had an off flavor. Vietnamese rolls were probably the best thing we had, solid with a good peanut sauce. We also had an unmemorable chicken dish. Overall so so so so. Wouldn't rush back but if I was nearby and in the mood for Thai fusion, might try it again. Or not.

    Thai spare ribs

Finally got a chance to try out this place. Went on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The place was empty, but don't let that bother you! Food was legit! I ordered Larb Gai, chicken stay, Thai spare ribs (these are rare to be seen on a Thai menu so try them!) and a side of sticky rice. I asked for Larb Gai to be spicy..like Thai spicy and I got what I asked for! It hit the spot. I was more excited for the spare ribs more than anything. I used to eat those growing up in Thailand. The restaurant served the ribs with (the real original Thai) Sriracha sauce. If you wanna know what the real Sriracha sauce tastes like, order spare ribs. :) I can't wait to return and try other dishes on the menu. But from the three things that I tried, they were good.

The broth for the pho was the best I have ever had. I only wish I had more noodles for the price. My friend had the eggplant snd tofu dish and she said that's the best tofu she's had. She also liked the customized hot sauce (ranked by number of stars). The spring rolls were excellent as well.

Had pho sate there. Contains lots of beef brisket and tendon. The spicy soup tastes very delicious with lime.

The service was slow, taking quite a while to take our orders after seating (we were starving) and another while to bring the check (and they brought the wrong one which the quickly replaced). The food, however, was quick to get to the table once ordered. Because my wife enjoyed her dish so much, we are likely to revisit when around Ridgefield. Ambiance was nice with pretty, colorful big paintings on the walls. Place as a whole is small but not claustrophobic.

I really wanted to love this place, but after ordering the regular ramen bowl twice now, I have to skip it moving forward. Both times, the broth was completely unpalatable - overwhelmingly and sickly sweet, rather than savory, rich, and balanced. Traditional ramen broth relies on deep umami and natural flavors, but this tasted heavily artificial and sweet to the point of being inedible. While the "build-your-own-bowl" concept is great and the staff are friendly, the execution on the ramen stock just isn't there. I'd suggest sticking to their stir-fried dishes or traditional Chinese menu items, but unfortunately I've not found them to be much better than the Ramen.

Stopped by for a late lunch…read more Open floor. No one was there seated, but it was around 2pm on a Friday. We were led to a table against the wall. Waiter was friendly and gave us some time to make our selections. I chose the egg roll, tangerine beef. Hubby chose the orange chicken. I asked the waiter if the soda came in a can. He said yes. We then waited for our meal. He returned quickly with my soda, in a glass with lots of ice. Not what I expected. But I guess I wasn't specific about my drink order. My egg roll was good. Cut decoratively in half at an angle, piping hot. Our food arrived shortly. Both plates were generous and came with white rice. Cut a portion in small pieces to taste with rice. Tasted so good, burned my tongue a little it was so hot. Ate a bit more, and that's when my mouth started burning up! The dish was a little more spicy than I expected. Tried to eat more, but it was too much for me. My hubby on the other hand was in his glory. He Loves heat. The spiciest the better. He tried mine and said it was just as spicy as his, which he loved. So, I just thought we would take mine home for him to enjoy later. I have to say it was good, before I had to cry uncle. So would definitely have to return for another try and let them know I can't take the spiciness. I did notice that the restaurant was busy with takeout orders. So I guess that's their main business. So I wouldn't say this was a cozy place. But the food is good. Lots of parking outside since they're next to a supermarket and liquor store. There weren't any 'lunch' specials, so this was over $50 with tip. By the way, lots to choose from the menu. I only took pictures of some pages.

I got the Pho with duck, and my wife got the crispy duck dinner. Both dishes were "meh" at best. Below average. As far as service... it was harried and we were only one of two couples eating in this "NOT so cozy" restaurant. We went at 5:30 expecting to wait because it was small and "cozy" and it was Chinese New year. (1) no problem eating in during dinner hours (2) not a stitch of celebratory anything for Chinese New Year.. not even a place mat. No chinese noodles at the table and there was one continuous plain bench and brown tables (no table cloths) on the opposite side aka cafe style and cafeteria style seats. Hardly "cozy" at all. Overall high expectations, below average experience, ambiance and food.

The ambiance is very modern and colorful, with brightly colored walls and murals and really nice family photos and thai decorations up making it authentically thai-american. My favorite dishes here are the guay chai appetizers-- which are fried, deeply savory and chewy-- and their pad see ew which has a umami, wok hei flavor and a silky texture on the rice noodles. My only note is that sometimes the rice noodles come pretty broken up in pieces from the stir fry. Their red curry and pad Thai are also great, very flavorful with a fair portion. I appreciate how now they give you a spice rack to self-customize your spice level instead of relying on the kitchen. I only recently realized how GOOD their drinks are too. By far the best matcha lattes in Putnam county, as a matcha lover I like how you can really taste the matcha rather than just the milk. Their cocktails during golden hour are also amazing, and extremely creative. They also host events like trivia nights and open mics that I would love to attend one day. Thai golden has really set themselves up to be a wonderful hangout spot, and a nice third space to be a part of the community in. Great food, drinks, and vibes all around.
