Very "underwhelming" decor for a downtown wine bar. I felt like I was in a cafeteria or a food court with a wobbly table. No salt and pepper on the table and felt weird having to ask for it. Ordered the Grecian pizza which was soggy, and a side salad with white balsamic (yum). Had two ultra basic Bloody Mary's, one came out with a lime wedge, the second one with olives. I really enjoy the food here. I've gotten the brick oven pizza and the Downtown salad. I've never ordered anything else because these have always been so good. Never had any of the wine or other beverages before, so I can't attest to that. Great place to be downtown, though! read more

If you are hungry and in downtown Youngstown this is where you want to be. Upscale menu with very reasonable prices. V2 burger is out of sight and don't even get me started on the house pasta salad. Best I Ever Had. Service was very attentive and seemed to be well managed. The bartender Danielle was very friendly and made my dining experience even more enjoyable. Love V2 but don't like the DJ on Sat. night. This was always a "chill" spot downtown for some snack and wine, definitely not as enjoyable.

We chose this spot while waiting for a concert to start a while back. . . I took my son for a bite to eat in the downtown area. It was refreshing to see the revitalization of greater Youngstown. To be honest, I never felt safe enough to even drive through the area at night... let alone STOP N EAT. That image is changing. I was only familiar with V2 by commercials, I didn't get the "wine bar" theme. The decor is upscale urban chic. There weren't many tables but a lot of people standing around.... definitely a bar feel. The clientele appeared as a more affluent middle aged after work crowd.... ( It was 7ish ). The service was a 'lil slow but not enough to complain. They were nice girls. The food was very tasty. The meatballs n sauce almost made me jealous. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, although nothing stands out other than the meatballs... and of course we had peppers n oil.... Yumm. The prices were on point. It seemed to be a great place for a business dinner, a date nite out, it's a sexy spot to visit...Leave the kids at home. read more

Has lunch at V2 today. We had a nice time sitting outside by the street enjoying the weather and the sites of downtown. The service was super fast and the ravioli's were yummy! Only request would be to serve a piece of Italian bread with the pasta, c'mon- it's Youngstown! Great job guys, we'll be back! read more

Been here a few times only sat at the bar once before. Sat there tonight with a friend apparently the female blonde bartender was having a bad night, relatively slammed down every drink we had, didn't ask what sides we wanted, never checked on us after we received our entrees, and food took quite awhile, despite it really not being very busy on a Tuesday, and that was about it. We have been here half a dozen times in the last two years. Mediocre experience overall. -Food is decent, some is even quite tasty: prosciutto panini, meatballs, calamari. -The location is good and large windows are fun for people watching downtown Youngstown. But the service basically ruins every visit and the atmosphere doesn't help either. It is pretty bare and not very inviting. Even when not busy the kitchen seems slower than average. The wait staff is a disappointment. One busy evening we sat at a bar table and after five minutes of absolutely no service we laughed about it and left. Another time we paid by cash and the waiter shorted the change. So we have had enough and won't be going back. We wish them well as a local restaurant in downtown Youngstown. read more

Did not really enjoy my experience here. The staff was very nice and we were seated quickly, so that wasn't the issue, it was really the drinks and food. I ordered a martini and it was room temperature. I ordered the arugula and prosciutto pizza, which was most definitely not a pizza. It was a cold flatbread with with arugula and prosciutto on top - no sauce, not warm, really just salad on a flatbread. Will not be returning, which is a bummer because I was looking forward to finding a cute wine bar. read more

Always a great place to go. They have good food and an inviting atmosphere. Last time we went they asked us to sit in a different room where there was a meeting going on. Which was a little uncomfortable but worth it for the good tomato bisque soup we had and always delicious hummus. read more

Great food, and decent service. Biggest drawback is the jukebox. If your idea of a nice afternoon at an upscale wine bar includes Mötley Crüe blasting so loud you can't hear the person sitting right next to you, then this is your place! One star right off the bat for our party of 8. Out of the 10 draft beers on tap there are only 3 listed on the drinks menu as being available in pitchers, none of which we like. I love Stella Artois and asked if I could get that in a pitcher. The server came back and said we can't get it in a pitcher. Pi$$ed me off right out of the gate. For being an "Italian" town, you'd think good pizza would abound in YO. Sadly, it does not. V2 is the bright spot, though. I have only eaten their pizza, so I really can't comment on the rest, although it looks great (but with pizza like this, why serve anything else!?). V2's pizza is a true New York style, with the char and everything. It is as good as it gets this side of Lombardi's. It is a great atmosphere and you always feel like you're dining with friends. read more

Great food, great drinks. ALWAYS love my food and I really like that it has an open kitchen. However the servers aren't always the friendliest or most attentive. One time a group of us went out and the server dropped our checks off AND tried picking them up before we were even half way done with our meal . Also, the hostess is almost non existent even during dinner time. I've actually been there before when 3 workers at different times saw us standing at the hostess desk and then turned around as if they didn't want to deal with us. I took a friend here for a retirement lunch, and we had a great time. On a weekday it was crowded with downtown workers but also families and my only complaint is that the high ceilings made for an echo chamber and conversation was sometimes a challenge. The two of us split a chicken, artichoke, and greens pizza and a salad with bacon and walnuts, which turned out to be the perfect portion size to allow us to sample their tasty desserts too. The V2 Wine Bar is also a great sports bar and small plate and sandwich cafe. Think Italian tapas! The V2 feels like downtown Youngstown's watering hole. There's a separate restaurant area that's family friendly. Wifi, too. read more
