Depending on what is ordered. This is an Italian food and wine bar. Atmosphere is welcoming and hostess was nice. Service was good as well, but do not go if you are expecting to have a good margarita pizza. Fire brick style with 70% sauce, 20% crust and 10% or less of mozzarella and basil. Sauce was sweet and reminded me of Prego. It is hard to make a bad margarita pizza. During my visit, there were workers/owners/contractors measuring the walls to add something to the restaurant. That's not usually a problem, but the entire staff was attentive to the one man in charge which seemed to take away from their customer service vibe. I did have to signal the waitress for my check. The wine selection was ok. I didn't see any wine that stood out as unique which I feel every wine bar should have. The servers offered a horrible experience after serving me a cold pizza. It was remade; however, I would not recommend since their team was not kind about the request. My wife and I were here before a concert recently and it was the perfect pre concert spot. Maybe not what you would want if you were looking for a quiet dinner out however. The place is loud and got very packed. This was on a Sunday night, so I expect Fridays and Saturdays are the same. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the music and talking to people around us for a couple of hours. Had a great time and would definitely stop again if we are ever back in town. To start, I wanted to note I came with a big group, which I know typically makes things a bit more complicated at restaurants. We all ordered at the same time, however, the food came out at veryyyy different times. It also seemed that it was dependent on what was ordered. For example, everyone who ordered salads and pastas got their meals first. Then about 10+ minutes later, the pizzas and meatball sandwiches came out. It was a bit disappointing considering we expected to eat together, but by the time we got our meals, the rest of the families plates had already been cleared since they had a bigger jump start on eating. Also, we ordered appetizers but those came out with the meals, not before. Which was a bummer, again considering we wanted to have something to eat together. I would recommend the meatballs, they're absolutely worth the hype!! The only downside was that they came on regular bread, not the cibatta noted on the menu. The pizza was the star of the show for us. The sauce was so delicious, we got it as an appetizer to share but next time I would just get it for a meal. He had to move all his school stuff and food at the bar for me to sit down, only to be proven right, I ordered food, and he did not put it in, then played stupid like he didn't understand my English or that I even ordered it. Had reservations for a luncheon. When we arrived the doors were chained and no one was there. Our reservation was for 12:30 and the person on the phone stated the restaurant opened at noon. Went to the restaurant next door instead. In the 2hrs we were there no one ever came to open V2. Don't take reservations if you're not going to show up. The atmosphere was also not quite our style (but it may be for you, so take this loosely). The food was OK. Best charcuterie I've ever had! They have a huge selection of meats and cheeses and they're all delicious. Includes amazing fig jam, pita, kalmata olives, and hot peppers. The peppers are so hot but they're so good you can't stop eating them. We were there on a Thursday and they had a special on pizzas for $6! It's a great deal. They're more personal size but its enough to share. I got a Greek pizza and shared with a friend. We also split a v2 salad, very good, their white balsamic dressing is the best. The calamari appetizer is my favorite. It's always cooked to perfection and has a great sweet/spicy Thai sauce. They have good wine specials on Wednesdays, half off a large selection of bottles. Their burgers are also very good. Only thing is, it comes with pasta salad, which is delicious, but could be a surprise if you were expecting the usual French fries. We stopped for the Santa shuffle and they have 3 bartenders. We ordered drinks which took over 15 min. The stood waiting to get our cards stamped going on 20 min. now....asked repeatedly and they just keep ignoring us. The V2 is a great place to eat. We are in town for one day and stopped in. Our server, Swan, was excellent. The food was reasonably priced and large portions. Two of us had the chicken Parmesan and it came with spaghetti which was large and delicious. I highly recommend V2. read more

My husband and I love the concept of small plates so V2 is nice when we want a little bit of everything without going to a dirty buffet. V2 is my second favorite Italian joint in the Youngstown area. I believe the real star of the show here is the pizza, moreover, it's baked in a real wood-fired oven. The marinera sauce is pretty special too, although, I've never asked to have it put on pasta....may have to though.... The only down side is that V2 can get pretty loud at night, which is irritating given how small the restaurant is. PS: The drinks here will get you tipsy in a hurry, plenty of alcohol -- good value. I really used to like the atmosphere at this place. When they first opened it reminded me of some of the bars in New York City. It had a sort of high-class feel but at the same time seemed to be for the regular person. The food was really good. My two favorite items were the pizza and the rice balls. Unfortunately, the place has gone a bit downhill since they opened. The last time I was there, there were scratches on the walls caused by the chairs around the tables. The bathroom wasn't as clean as it was at the beginning, and, although I can't place a finger exactly on the problem, the overall atmosphere of the bar was no longer the same. It didn't feel like a New York bar like it did at the beginning. The food quality has declined, also. My latest experience with the rice balls is that they should have cooked the rice another 5 minutes or so. The rice in the dish was actually more than al dente and made the dish unappetizing, to say the least. V2 is no longer a fun and interesting place. In the beginning, I took out-of-town guest and family members to the bar to show it off. I will no longer do that since I find it actually embarrassing. What a shame. read more

Great place for lunch. I frequent this place when working in downtown Youngstown and have been impressed with everything I've eaten here. Service is quick and wait staff has always been cordial. Menu Favorites: - V2 Burger: it's all about this special sauce (careful, this meal will put you to sleep) - Edamame hummus - All of their Pizzas are great - Hot Pepper and Egg on rustic ciabatta (best value on the menu) This would be a great place to watch a game; full bar and plenty of TVs. I ordered the Arugula Prosciutto Handcrafted Pizza, which was phenomenal! I would highly recommend this item. The menu has a great diverse selection, and the service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The restaurant has the perfect atmosphere. It is modern, fun, industrial, and clean. I reserved the "private" room here for 25 family members traveling from Iowa, Florida, Maryland and Virginia to bury our father. The only time we all had together would be for this meal and I was told it would be an additional $50 for the "private" room. We were tightly seated at one very long table that stretched into a smaller "private" room where a loud group of about 10 were seated and their conversations overpowered ours at that end of our table. We had one sweet waitress who struggled to get orders straight. Two family members never got their complete order but gave up because she was clearly overwhelmed. We were billed for the items they ordered that weren't ever served - again not worth the battle. One family member has the Alpha-Gal meat allergy and it literally took three tries before he was finally served cavatelli with the vodka sauce that he was told was meatless - fighting for that was worth the battle! I'm giving this 3 stars because the food was good, but the set-up and service was extremely disappointing. Probably a nice place for a small group but they missed the mark for our family. read more

Love Vernon. Allison and I go here quite often, V2 has one of the best atmosphere's around. We like places that look and feel nice and comfortable. We prefer going during the week when its quieter. V2 greats a little crazy during the nights and especially on the weekends, which is why I say V2 is not the Wine bar you would normally expect. It has geared itself towards nightlife and full service. Which stinks because I think Youngstown/Warren could use a great Wine Bar. With that said, Their wine selection is horrible for being a wine bar. Unless you are buying a bottle, which we almost never do. Wine's by the glass menu is VERY limited. With mostly one choice of each genre of wine maybe two. No up sells :/ Allison ordered a glass of cab and sadly it was stale and very acidic. Their food is hit or miss. Burgers are good. last time i got a pizza, it seemed like they just cooked the dough then piled on raw toppings. when it was served it was a heaping mound of hard-to-eatness. We like stopping by when we are out down in the YO, especially hanging out with a bunch of friends and having a fun time. but its not the wine bar to sit back and relax with a nice glass of wine with your significant other. read more

Update: this place has got its shit together. Went there last night for a quick dinner prior to a show and was served promptly when we let them know we were in a hurry. Order the hot peppers or stuffed peppers and you won't be disappointed. Also ordered the sausage sandwich and was very satisfied with my meal. Server was more than accommodating and was sure to get us all settled so that we could make our show. This place knows what they're doing and have the delicious food to boot. I liked V2 and was disappointed at the same time. V2 has huge potential but was much more casual than I was expecting, that's why I was disappointed. It had a large bar in the center and then a seating area off to one side. Very little decoration and very industrial looking tables like you would find in a diner or more casual restaurant made for a very casual setting. Better decor and spending a little more on the tables would go a long way to making this feel like a "wine bar". We were seated quickly and greeted promptly by our waitress. She brought our waters but not our wine and took our order. Our calamari came very quickly, delivered by a runner and is some of the best I've had anywhere but still no wine. Eventually the bar tender came over and said, "this must be your wine?", no sign of the server. Our food was also delivered by someone other than our server. My chicken and greens was really good, my husband's burger just "ok". The calamari alone was enough to make me want to come back so I'm sure we will visit again. read more
