They're a 3rd party that books people on other company tours. They said we slipped through the crack. Then tried to blame me and insinuate that I didn't confirm my reservation. Then they claimed to have sent my refund, but nothing has come. Filing a claim with my bank. DON'T BOOK WITH THEM!!! Imagine a bus of people turning around to drop you back off because the tour company made a mistake! Last day here and they ruined the experience for us.

I wasn't ready to see post Katrina but it was humbling. I bought several, including the swamp tour. Nothing special there unfortunately, the crocs were small and docile, and I wasn't really impressed by the guides knowledge of the bayou. However, this review is on the Katrina tour itself. After being driving all around the different local parishes (counties) and in and out of the local spots, we finally ended up in the 9th ward of New Orleans. The devastation is evident right when you enter the lower portion of the 9th ward. Yes, our unit took volunteers to go down to Nawleans when Katrina hit to help out and now looking back, it's even more heartbreaking. The aftermath still brings tears to my eyes, seeing all the carnage left by mother nature is a humbling experience. As I stood there in the middle of a neighborhood which used to house generations of families, I watched in awe how much life can literally be taken in an instant. It was like standing in the middle of frozen time taking in a moment to pause as you stand on grounds of a living memorial. The guide for this portion was from the neighborhood and provided rich insight into what went down. He was choking up a little too as he told stories of the devastation and who could blame him? Why does it always take something bad to bring out the best in people? Overall, I learned so much about the history, culture, and way of the local people affected in the lower 9th ward. I would definitely recommend this tour and go back in a heartbeat. It's a cheap investment into learning about the people, the true people of New Orleans who's lives will never be the same. The end of this tour was into the rebuilding area where new homes and neighborhoods are being constructed. Many of them are beautiful as well as functional. For instance, the bottoms of the homes are similar to the hull shape of any ship you recognize and they are lifted off the ground so that if another flood comes in, the raise home will float to safety somewhere. And most of the homes were thanks to Mr. Brad Pitt so kudos to him for being a local ambassador. Go on this tour, please. It's a roller coaster of emotions, it's a learning experience, and you'll be a local expert of the city of New Orleans, not just the 9th ward, but you'll experience a life lesson in jazz, blues, rock & roll, famous people's homes, and just plain feel good about yourself.

This was a last minute reservation for us on Christmas day, as we had to cancel our bike tour for the next day because of the weather. I called their office on Christmas day to see about scheduling a tour, expecting no one to answer, but I got a friendly voice on the other line and he scheduled us for a 2 0'clock tour, with a 1:35 pickup. Booking on the internet, the price was something like 42-43 dollars for a comprehensive 3-hour tour. Mike called before 1:30, a little early, but he said he was outside and to come out when we were ready. We were, so we left. From the moment we got on the van, he chatted us up and cracked jokes, while we drove around the french quarter, picked up the other two people on the tour, and heard about new orleans history. From the FQ, we ventured out through downtown to the garden district (he told us that we were getting the tour backwards because people always complained that it was too dark to see the houses by the time they got to the garden district at the end). It didn't matter to us what direction the tour was going in.... We had a bathroom/refreshment break after the garden district, then headed out to mid-city, with a stop at a cemetery to take pictures. Then we began heading by the lake to start learning (and seeing) about the damage of Katrina. The last areas we went to were the upper and lower ninth ward...still looks like a war zone, even over six years later...so sad. The tour ran a little over three hours. This was a tour that we stumbled on by accident when our plans had changed at the last minute that turned out to be perfect for us.

And honestly, there aren't that many more people.

It feels very homey, as if you were staying with a friend of a friend, and all the associated risk that come with that. The location itself is great if you want to be out of the touristy bustle by the French Quarter, but very accessible to everything. The 12 line up and down St Charles is incredibly convenient to explore all of the Garden District and its assorted shops and restaurants, or you can go further to magazine street, then back to those touristy parts once more (with other options if you don't mind a normal city bus). The building itself shows some age, with some creaky boards or stairs, but is otherwise very comfortable. This is very much a case where you should feel as little need to be in bed as possible but also feel safe and secure in sleeping there when ready. I can only speak to the people who helped me while I was there but they were immensely friendly and welcoming. The hostel itself has a messaging group set up for guests their entire stay so you find suggestions and help whenever you need during your stay, including other people looking to explore if you're in a similar mood. Every night there are group get togethers and discussion so can feel as connected as you'd like while you are in town. The kitchen is basically well equipped, so you can have options if it gets to where you get back after everything is closed. All in all a fun experience, and I'd recommend it to anyone for whom solitude and being pampered is not the priority.

(I have since contacted the Mexican Government to confirm that the form or any payment is not required to sell our Timeshare). Frank Richards from TI did contact me by telephone after I requested a business Licence and personal email address (richards.frank@travelinnovations-us.email) and he stated there was not payment by us required. The next day I received an email from MC requesting we pay $4300 UDS to a Mexican Bank account. I believe both of these companies (scammer websites) should be shut down and State authorities be notified as more people will be scammed if nothing is done.
