This office was clean and the selection of frames are endless. Laura was so pleasant when I came in to order my frames/ lens and she was able to order a pair not in office, Which made my day!! My grievance and rating is with the process of receiving my frames. I was told they would be back before the holiday (7 days) however once I called, my order was not going to be back till 10-14 days which was not what I was told. Laura and Angelica was a little combative when I stressed my reasoning for needing my eyewear. I don't feel as if I should have been treated this way and more compassion for the customer should have been the goal instead of trying to be political correct. I think people feel as if COVID has everything to do with delays and no one wants to go the extra mile after you have paid your money. So If your looking to get your eyewear in a hurry, please check with other retailers and get it in writing. read more

I have been a patient for many years due to the quality of service I receive from Dr. Staley and her excellent staff. I have a very high power and astigmatism. Dr. Staley is very up to date on the latest in contacts for my vision and comfort. Everyone of the staff I come in contact with is experienced and cordial. I feel like family when I walk in from the receptionist, to techs, to Dr. Any added vision test performed for my benefit are a plus. I've needed either glasses or contacts since the mid 80s. Of all the offices I've been to, this is my absolute favorite. The office is convenient, clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and recognizes me when I walk in. I'm very happy with Dr. Eskew and like her very much. (I haven't seen Dr. Cooley.) I can't think of a reason to not like this office. There are lots of other dr's offices that could take some tips from Val Vista Vision. read more

If you are like most Americans and have to watch where your $$ goes, you shouldn't visit this office. The office wasn't able to obtain less than a 1 year supply of contacts for me. I have never purchased or was required to purchase a year supply. It is only because they get kickbacks from the companies. I was able to order through 800 Contacts at a reasonable price - after it took me 2 weeks to get my prescription after going back in for the 3rd time. My out of pocket cost would have been less with my previous eye doc - i only went here because it was closest to my home. I also like to wear glasses so i had to pay for my glass prescription - which they did not provide the Pupil distance - but didn't bother to tell me when i was in the office - AND now it is an additional $15. DO NOT GO HERE. My wife and I both had terrible experiences with this store. We had exams on different dates, and both prescriptions had to eventually be corrected by another optometrist who knew what he was doing. He was shocked how far off they were! Then we then had to fight to get a full refund so we could apply our insurance to a provider who could fix it. I've had glasses for 30 years and have used 3 or 4 providers over the years. I have been a patient at Val Vista Vision for more than 15 years. I go for my annual check every year and get contacts and occasionally glasses. The entire office is professional and they make your visit comfortable. Dr. Cooley Staley is very thorough and is willing to spend the time to make sure all of my questions are answered and that my contacts are comfortable. When I have an eye "issue"...and I have had a few related to my contacts... Dr. Cooley Staley will do whatever she can to make sure my eyes are healthy. I have called her on the weekends and she will get back to me quickly to save me money (so I don't have to go to urgent care). They are the best in town. read more

I have worn glasses or contacts for about 50 years, and have been treated by optometrists or opthomologists in several states. My wife and I both were first time customers to Val Vista Vision. Before going in I knew that I had monovision and a astigmastism. I knew that I could only get glasses, my wife though was told that she was a good candidate for contact lenses. Val Vista Vision charges $135 non-refundable fee. That fee went towards finding the correct contact, training and fitting for her. Her 1st pair (of contacts) my wife could not see distance or in low light level. She went in to see Dr. Stacie Eskew again and was told she had monovision. Dr. Eskew should have recognized this in the 1st exam. My wife went in several times to try different contacts and was told there no more options (she could not see distance in any of them) and she had to wear glasses. She asked since none of the contacts worked, to have partial of the $135 to go towards glasses and was told by contact lens specialist that they would not do that. We were disappointed, thinking Val Vista Vision would have better customer service than this. We will not return as customers or recommend them. read more

1/5/17 - I received a call from the owner Dr. Staley after my first update on my review. She told me they were working hard to do all they could to find frames for my back up lenses and they would take good care of me. My new glasses did arrive on 12/30, however I didn't make it there by their 2pm closing time on Friday. On Monday I received a call stating that they were able to find frames to replace my nearly year old frames - magic! After being told nothing could be done! I was told to ask for the Office Manager Andrea when I checked in and did so yesterday. She installed the lenses I was wearing into the new identical frame and also fitted my new glasses. They gave me a check for $15 for the frame fee I had paid. Things turned out better than expected, however, as I say with any business, put the customer/patient's needs first, take yourself, your profit, your expense out of the equation and you cannot go wrong. I only wish they could have made things right from the start and truly believe the only reason they reacted in the manner in which they did was due to the yelp review I wrote, which seems to be deleted on they yelp page. There should be 35 reviews when Val Vista Vision is googled and strangely only 34 come up which makes me wonder if my original review was deleted for some mysterious reason. 12/28/2016 We have been customers here for at least three or four years. Went in yesterday to have my RX from an opthamologist (M.D) filled. I have a special condition that requires me to be under care of an M.D. Eye doctor. Not sure why we went back there to Val Vista Vision!? Probably because it is near year end and wanted to use "in network" benefits plus wanted to give them one more chance to do things properly. My spouse needed an eye exam and the earliest available appointment is January 5, 2017, we can understand that. Last year there was a delay in both my spouse and my glasses, because the gal Laura, kept shattering the lenses when installing in rimless frames that THEY sell!! In fact she helps me pick out my frames ever year! This was at least a three week delay. She blamed us for picking out that style frame, well why sell it them!?? Plus She brought this up again yesterday. Like it was OUR fault. I showed her how my current frame was bent due to falling asleep recently with them on. She tried to straighten it as best she could, but chided me for even doing such a thing. Excuse me, but people can and do fall asleep while reading in bed. I paid for my co pay plus extra above in network allowance $ on frames, my portion of progressives lenses and non glare lenses. Over $227. I asked her what kind of warranty would these have? She told me and also that the frames come with a 1year warranty. So then I asked what about my current frames? Why hadn't she caught that initially when I showed her the problem!? She looked up and said they just barely are under a year old and would be able to order new frames for the lenses for $15. She just called me just now to say the company no longer makes those frames so basically, I am out of luck!! Didn't even offer to even refund my $15 I paid, but did say she 'put in a rush order' on my new glasses. Big deal, right? Meanwhile, after leaving there, we went to Walmart to see if they accept VSP for my husband, as he needed a basic exam with an optometrist. They have out of network benefits for VSP customers. He is scheduled for his exam Tomorrow and already picked out his frames ahead of time. His out of pocket costs are SIGNIFICANTLY less than Val Vista Vision. I relayed this information to Laura and she really didn't seem to care. She said "That is why we are a 'private practice' and you are comparing apples to oranges". Not really! I looked around the women's frames while there and they are just as stylish. It is just that their mark up on frames at Walmart might be 50% vs. 500% at Val Vista Vision. Whether or not you have vision insurance, it would behoove you to shop around first!! We will not be giving Val Vista Vision our business again and I hope I do not have any issues with warranty on my new glasses for the next year as they appear not to be people of their word if they didn't at least offer to get me into another frame/ less expensive pair of eyeglasses to use as back up glasses! December 29, 2016 : Update: I received a call from Laura from Val Vista Vision this morning. She wanted basically to let me know that it was her understanding that we had a good rapport with each other. Had been updating the goings on of our families each year we visited their business. This is true and she is trying to make this right as best she sees she can. She said refunded the $15 frame replacement fee she charged previously and reiterated that she had put a "rush" on my new glasses, which are of the same prescription as my older pair. I'm a fan of this establishment as a whole. Wonderful experience throughout the exam. The doctor was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. My issues with it came about when My glasses took about twice the expected time to come in. Then when picking up the glasses and ordering a set of contacts, Sue was incredibly disrespectful both to me and her colleague. Sue laughed at me for not knowing the intricacies of my contact solution, and was condescending throughout the interaction. Then skipped out on giving what I assumed was a free box of solution because "I already had some." She was also abrasive and rude to her coworker, which from my point was a new to the computer system and was in the process of learning. Besides those set backs, the experience was solid. read more

I had not been to an eye doctor in 3 years so searched for one that had good reviews. I ended up selecting Val Vista Vision as it was close to me. My husband and I were there at the end of the day. We were taken back right away after filling out our paperwork and did the basic testing before the Dr. saw me. I did have to wait a bit to see the Dr. in the room, but I knew she was in with my husband and it was the end of the day. Dr. Stacie Eskew was so wonderful. She completely explained every single question I had, answered any concern I had, gave me info on concerns I had - she took her time and I felt completely listened to and I would recommend her to anyone. She was so patient and I loved it. I left there feeling completely happier than any other eye doctor ever. I am planning on going back again next year and will be getting my kids in there as well.
