Hands down the best burgers in the area, the chef will cook to your liking and there is plenty of various burgers to choose from....great apps as well, beer is hit or miss as I have had a couple of very good pints and some sub-par pints but they are somewhat new so hopefully the beer will get better..... read more

Disappointed in the quality of the food and music. Took out of town company to Valcour Brewing today for an early dinner. Chicken Tacos were tasteless and disappointing, chicken and flour taco shells were dry. Taco had very little of anything in it. The live music was too loud for the space. Plus the music and musicians were not very good. Why I am giving my review a three star is the Beer was very good. read more

I had gotten used to using Valcour as my safety net as far as neat little restaurants in Plattsburgh to entertain clients at. That all has changed as of late. Upon entering I noticed a different vibe to the place. They've only been open 1.5 years but had been doing quite well. This time the scramble was stressful and unwelcoming. The bartenders were always cheerful and great conversationalists, this time i was embarrassed having my clients watch the bartender eat her lunch while serving our drinks, without even considering to wash her hands. ( eating in front of your customers is downright rude) she apologized of course admitting she was famished and that the owner doesn't allow them to take breaks to eat. Strike 1. When I asked why all the beers were changing and why the Beers were evidently tasting different from our previous June visit she admitted they lost their brewmaster and they were working with a new part time home brewer. A 2 million dollar establishment that only has a part time home brewer crafting their brews? Strike 2. When I asked if I could take my clients upstairs to show them the building ( like I always have in the past) I was told the owner doesn't trust customers to just walk around at their own free will anymore. Strike 3. I was clearly quite embarrassed. I won't be back. You lost our business. read more

This is an amazing historical renovation of a 1838 stone barracks . The beer was outstanding and the rooms were beautiful . It's a must see if your up in that neck of the woods. It's a great place for leafing in the fall and in range of whiteface skiing for winter fun. The staff were great. read more

We got here, the music was way too loud. Limited seating available. Frankly, irritating they didn't take reservations. The table was sticky. Not only did they mess up our drink orders but to add they messed up our food order. The food took way too long to come out and the service was terrible. read more

We are actually planning our wedding here this summer. The staff has been incredibly helpful and organized, they answer our questions and concerns quickly! We are also booking all the rooms for the night of our wedding for our wedding party and they immediately blocked the nights to ensure they would be available for our party. The beer is great, as is the food, if you're looking for an excellent venue for an event or a good place for dinner with a historic and friendly atmosphere, this is a must visit location. read more

I've emailed the brewery numerous times over the last couple months regarding an XXL shirt. They keep saying they'll order one and that they will let me know when it comes in. I haven't received a single follow up to any of the 5-10 emails I've sent. They say they'll order one, never do, and never email me back. Their customer service is awful. The food is ok, but I hope they have your size in shirts because they won't order any that have sold out. My cousin lives close to the brewery and asked about the shirt and my emails. They said they never received any emails and proceeded to take his name and number down so that they can contact him when they order the shirt. It's been weeks and they still haven't contacted him. read more

I have been a craft beer fanatic for 25+ years and have been to hundreds of breweries and brewpubs. This ranks right up there as one of my 10 favorites. The beer here was exceptional and way surpassed my expectations, the setting and historically restored building makes for a really cool setting, and the hamburger was probably the best I've ever had, anywhere. The best part: when we arrived for lunch, the owner was at the bar drinking a beer and then later gave us a full tour. Great service, great food, great beer. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We had our daughters wedding at Valcour Brewing Company on September 2. It was beyond amazing! We could not think of anything that we would change. The ambiance and venue is incredible!! We had the cocktails and hors'deourves inside the historic brewery. Some guests were given a tour, which is fun and so interesting. The atmosphere inside and outside is just beautiful. Our guests sampled the several delicious beers offered inside while they nibbled on wonderful passed and stationary food; and others could have mixed drinks, as well, from a bar we set on the beautiful, flower box clad balcony outside. Taylor Rentals provided the gorgeous 59X99 tent and tables, chairs etc.... for the dinner reception on the beautiful lawn across from the brewery. The staff at Valcour is amazing! So friendly, professional and efficient! The reception was absolutely flawless. I cannot thank them enough. Also, their chef, Sebastian is amazing! He was wonderful to work with in deciding our menu. The food was beyond delicious. We received so many compliments on the plated meals served. All our family and friends were taken aback by the setting, the staff and the food. It was a magical day for our daughter and her new husband. We are so thankful to all at the brewery for making this wedding beyond memorable. If you want to have a memorable event of any kind, this is the perfect setting! Many thanks again to everyone at The Valcour Brewery. This is a forever, happy memory for us! read more

The food was good, beer was good but a little pricey for what you get and they charged me extra for a side of ranch dressing. That's cheesy.

Kind of a long review and I don't write them a lot but I'm aggravated so here we go. Let me start by saying that I have been here once before and it was AWESOME. Great service, food, and drinks (and there was live music!). We were excited to go back and we brought some out of town guests here and unfortunately, were really disappointed. Not normally one to complain but it was really not good and I'm mad we even wasted time and money coming here. The service was really bad...more than one waitress came to the table and had no idea what was going on. They don't write orders down. Also, they all had a little bit of an attitude and were not looking to make it a good experience. The whole vibe was not welcoming at all. I think it was so bad because we are comparing it to last time when our waiter/experience was amazing. We asked THREE times for water with lemons ( we also ordered beer and cocktails) and finally my husband asked up at the bar for lemons only to find they were covered in black mold. I ordered a drink and they didn't have all the components to make it correctly but charged me full price. They were also out of a few beers which is pretty bad considering it's a "brewery" and it's a Friday night, going into a weekend. Then, we ordered an appetizer--spinach artichoke dip ---which was really kind of gross. Badly made and it was just spinach and huge artichoke pieces chopped and mixed up with oil and then a little cheese melted on top, lukewarm underneath. The rest of the food was decent but took forever I'm not exaggerating, we almost left and went somewhere else for dinner. When we prompted the waitress about our food suddenly it came out. The burger came out without a bun, salad we ordered never came. My Cesar was wilted and brown lettuce. I'm sad to say but we will not be returning until they get some better (less rude, more organized) help. The cook sent out sloppy food and was on his phone back there when they were clearly in the weeds. Really too bad because our first experience was amazing and it's a really nice atmosphere. Kind of ruined my Friday night and we were starving so that didn't help lol They did, however, not charge us for the couple of beers we had. So I would say overall, try it but it might be hit or miss. read more

Very good food and beer. It is in a historic 1838 building and because the city won't let the Brewery put any signs or anything on the outside of the building, it is a bit hard to find. Well worth the 10-15 minute drive off the highway. I had the oatmeal brown beer and the BBQ burger. Both were great. read more

Went tonight for the first time !!! We were not disappointed! Very good food and beer! And the service was. Excellent !!! The only negative comment is it did take awhile to get our food ! But it was busy ! And we got to enjoy Trivia night for the first time and we came in 3rd place ! It was a very enjoyable night with good friends ! read more

Food was very good. Beer was terrible. I have tasted many microbrew beers and this was just awful. I think the food is keeping them in business. Service was just great. A nice very engaging young man waited on us. Great conversationalist. Second time we went back had someone else. Not great service. He was a plus. Hope they keep him around. read more

Recently opened and blew all expectations away. The food is fantastic, people love the beer and the staff is super friendly and quick to help. The building is beautifully restored and the atmosphere is welcoming. HIGHLY recommend! read more
