What a cute cafe! I love the ambience of this place, there's a few tables and a cozy area. The women working here are so friendly and welcoming. I ordered ham, egg, and cheese on a wheat croissant, chicken empanada, beef empanada, and a caramel iced coffee all so delicious and fresh! I especially loved the caramel iced coffee it was too sweet which was perfect. The empanadas had great flavor. Before leaving I picked up a tiramisu and dedido con guava and cheese-- it was so soft and fresh, if it wasn't the last one I would've gone back and made gotten another one! I visited this little place quite frequently while on a two week long work trip. It is a charming little cafe and the workers are so sweet. The pastries are delicious and very affordable! I definitely recommend trying pastries you would usually never buy -- I guarantee you will like them. I also had a very affordable breakfast sandwich one morning which was also very delicious. I've been back 3 days in a row, if that tells you anything. So far I've tried the breakfast sandwich, bagel, cappuccino, and empanadas. The breakfast sandwich was made to order and very filling, I loved the house bread. I believe they also make the bagels, but definitely could have gone heavier on the cream cheese. A couple of days ago I was driving on B-Line and on the corner of my eye I noticed something new on the corner of 19th and B-Line. The words Sweets caught my eye, I was in a rush so I couldn't stop but hoped I remembered where I saw it. A few days later my friend sends me a message about this new coffee shop and said I should definitely check it out. So today was that day! I walked in to @sweetscafebakery and automatically loved the place! Fresh and clean, nice lay out, bars along the windows to enjoy some coffee, a lounge area to relax with your friends. It's what we needed on our downtown area! But not only is the location nice but the family who owns and operates were very welcoming! Jose and Nelly along with their 3 children are the heart and soul of this coffeeshop. They automatically made me feel like part of the family! They all had smiles on their faces, bright eyes and were very attentive. I had myself a very delicious cortadito and ham & cheese on a croissant and it did not disappoint! This coffeeshop is this families dream come true. I spoke to Juan and this has been years in the making, blood, sweat and tears kind of accomplishment. Sweets & Cafe Bakery is a block away from my apartment and I'm so glad it is! I visit at least 2x a week for my dose of the best iced coffee (seriously, skip Dunkin down the block and go here for your coffee, it won't disappoint). Their empanadas are also to die for -- every flavor is delicious. Speaking of delicious, "Sweets" isn't in their name for nothing. I haven't tried everything yet but the handful of bakery items I have devoured are incredible. My 4 year old little girl and I come here for mommy-daughter dates on Friday afternoons, after I pick her up from school. It's cozy and bright inside, with comfortable chairs, nice tables, and soft music playing in the background. The food and drinks are very good. They even serve hand cut fries! Big windows allow for people-watching and lots of sunlight. Prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend. read more
