My bill was paid, and…read moreapparently there was a miscommunication with the manager on the amount of units I was renting (they claim just one, when we had discussed two) but NO ONE ever reached out to me, despite them reaching out about other issues. Long version- I rented a small storage unit and quickly realized I needed another. I spoke to the manager and got it taken care of. Apparently when this happens, you have to transfer your goods from one unit to another as SafeGuard does not allow 2 units at once to be rented (which i found out yesterday via disturbing details of my items being thrown in the garbage). I was never told to transfer my items; I live a hop and a skip down the road and surely would have been there to retrieve my items that were "necessary to transfer". Fast forward several months, I go to the smaller of the two units I rented and it's "available for rent". Everything is gone- they said they threw it all away. Apparently there was a miscommunication with the manager and he believed I was simply moving my stuff to the other unit instead of renting both. Fine. But no one ever reached out to me about it. No emails. No calls. No texts. No letters. Meanwhile, I was two-days late paying on the unit last month and got a call each day I was late. They clearly had my correct information for that, but not before THROWING MY THINGS AWAY. They offered me a pitiful 2 months off my storage unit for the inconvenience. Less than $500 for a laptop, my entire summer wardrobe, cameras, camera lenses and supplies as I have a photography company, not to mention items of sentimental value that cannot be replaced!!! I find it suspicious that the boxes were simply thrown away- typically storage that is abandoned in their eyes would be auctioned- this was just thrown in the garbage? This has been a horrible experience and I am weighing my options on how to proceed.

It took me over a week to get my keys, meaning I paid for an empty unit for over a week. However, Hector at the counter was really nice and helpful. I highly recommend working with him. He was super helpful and patient in asking all of my questions while seamlessly dealing with other guests as well. The actual facility is very clean and well lit, and the units are reasonably priced and a good size. It seems safe, too!

Because I pushed back, they wrote me and said it was a mistake and still never provided any evidence. Very likely because no violation ever existed. I would not recommend this business.

Emily handled my concerns with professionalism, fairness, and real diligence. She could not have been nicer. She listened, took the issues seriously, and worked through them in a way that felt fair and respectful. My original concerns about the move itself remain what they were. But I also recognize that any business of this size can occasionally have a bad crew or a bad experience in the field. What matters is how the company responds when that happens. Here, the response after the move was excellent. Credit is due where credit is due: the post-move customer service, especially from Emily, was outstanding. I had my purse with $980 in the zippered compartment in one of our bathrooms where we were storing the stuff we didn't want moved. The movers were told this on multiple instances. The movers had zero reason to be in that room and did not ask permission to enter it. Had they done so we would have asked them to use the other bathroom. I know the movers were in there because the toilet seat was up and there was urine in the toilet when I went in. I am female and my fiancé is completely blind and has to sit to pee and doesn't put up the seat. When I went to tip the movers, the cash was gone from my purse. No one besides myself, my fiancé and the movers were inside the apartment since I'd taken out the cash the previous evening. I informed the company immediately. They did nothing about it, claiming they questioned the crew who denied it. As if they'd confess to stealing about a grande. Please learn from my mistake and either avoid this company. Or at least keep your cash on your person and lock any doors the crew should not be entering. Personally this is the last time I will be using them as trust should be a priority particularly with a company you are handing your belonging. In case it helps, the head of the crew was named Alik (that spelling may be incorrect) and the license plate number on the truck was 79759NG.

I was very impressed!…read moreI probably sent about 6 requests for quote out to different companies and Lynn at Express Haulers was the first to call me within a minute of sending the request, and the only one persistently following up with me. I told every company that we have a small move as we had been moving things little by little by ourselves, only Lynn provided me with the lowest minimum hours and competitive pricing. When I said I would get back to her, I appreciated her persistence in following up. They estimated 2.5 hours of work and Carlos and his team did a great job efficiently moving things, only took 30 more minutes than they estimated. They also didn't have any hidden charge for wrapping material for couch etc. My husband at the receiving address said they were very careful with our newly renovated home, the floor, the wall etc as they moved and assembled furniture. After the move, the owner Diego himself reached out to check in and asked for feedback. As somebody running a business myself and working with business owners, I really appreciate how they run their business, the efficiency, the flexibility and the care.
