Was a bit confused at first because they brought placemats with the breakfast menu then a bit later brought regular menu's. The waitress brought waters and told us the specials. They do not serve alcohol. It was a while before she came back to get our order. We both got coffee and ordered a special that was a stuffed pepper with mashed potatoes and garlic bread. Huge portion & half came home because we had to get the crapes. Got an order of 3 to share. We got the cheese, cherry & apple with cinnamon. Of course the cherry were my favorite but they all were good. They also offer blueberry, strawberry (in season) peaches & cream. Also took part of mine home. Had lunch here with friends. My last visit to Polush Villa was at their other location which is now closed. I guess it's been a while. Both friends ordered meals. One ordered pork chops and the other meat loaf, both served with a potato pancake & cabbage. I didn't catch what the actual dish was. I had one goal, a plate of potato pancakes. They were good but not exactly what I expected which was grated potatoes. These seemed.closer to mashed potatoes. Maybe over mixed? Also I received 1 small tube of sour cream, certainly not enough for four potato pancakes since they'd give you the same for one. My friends appeared to enjoy their meals. My gentleman friend and I started out for dinner at a German Restaurant in Buffalo, NY on Sunday, August 16th. I made reservations for 3pm. Upon arriving, we learned the restaurant was closed. I favor Polish food, so we drove to Polish Villa in Cheektowaga. From the moment we were seated, we felt like we were in our own dining room. Our server Dawn exceeded all expectations. Friendly, polite, explained our menu choices, and answered all our questions. Clearly, Dawn loves her job and the people she serves. The food was EXCELLENT and portions were huge. And I couldn't resist the Polish cheesecake with plum dressing. When we return, I will be asking for Dawn. She is such a delight and her personality surpasses what customers appreciate in a restaurant. Kudos to the entire staff and acclimates to the cooking staff. Had a lunch meeting here. Cute spot. Our server, whom I'm sorry can't recall her name, but I'm sure she's one of their seasoned servers, was absolutely delightful. She had great recommendations, very attentive and just super nice. I was shocked at the portion sizes, they were HUGE! We started the meal with the potato pancakes, which I thought were delicious. Came with a side of sour cream and applesauce. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad, this was a family size salad, and they provided almost a bottle of dressing, which I wasn't mad about. My only thing the chicken was hammered and way over cooked. A Caesar salad was ordered at the table, again huge bowl, a breakfast plate of a veggie omelette and the polish Reuben which everyone loved. But tonight we had a great opportunity to go since the hotel we were at was just a few miles away. The food was amazing! Was so impressed with my Polish Platter I ordered with a variety of homemade foods. My wife got the pork chop/perogi dinner and was just as satisfied. I was hesitant to try the golabki with my platter because I'm not too fond of stuffed cabbage, but it was the best part of my meal hands down! Well, how can I put this... many things about this place are just Meh... The potato pancakes are nothing to write home about, in fact after I was asked if I enjoyed them and was honest, the server told me that I should have ordered them thin and extra crispy... how was I to know that? The ones I received looked like pancakes from IHOP and had the consistency of chunky mashed potatoes (the chunky parts were a bit undercooked) I guess it's just not how I've always had potato pancakes, which were a large shred perhaps... The perogie I ordered at first was unavailable, so I opted for the farmers cheese... it was very tasty, but the server gave me the impression it would be a large one... it was a bit bigger than the kind from the frozen box, but not like the scratch made ones at a butcher shop... Like I said, just meh... I didn't even take photos because, well, the food wasn't photo worthy in my humble opinion... EDIT-After posting this review, the owner reached out to me to find out more information about my visit and invited me back for a complimentary meal, being very concerned about the quality and service of his restaurant... My husband and I stopped in on the Saturday after Christmas. The restaurant seemed busy with a large funeral luncheon, and another large party who seemed to be having a holiday celebration . There were also a handful of other small parties such as ours. As a result, the service was a bit slow with only one (1) hostess (who also took drink orders and bussed/cleaned tables). Our server was apologetic regarding the delay and attentive - making sure that we had everything we needed and continued to check in with us throughout the meal. When our meal was served, it was well worth the wait. I selected the Polish Platter - Golumbki, 2 Kielbasa (they offer smoked and fresh - I chose smoked), 2 pierogi (choice of potato, farmers cheese, or sauerkraut, vegetable (I had sweet & sour cabbage, potato (I selected potato pancake which was served with applesauce and sour cream, and rye bread and butter. The platter also comes with soup or salad and I opted for the chicken soup with kluski noodles. There was enough food for two (2) meals - in fact, I took home my leftovers and had them for dinner later that night!). My husband selected the pork chop platter with mashed potatoes and apple sauce. He also added the smoked kielbasa ($5.95 for 2 large links). Everything was delicious and I believe that everything (except the apple sauce) was homemade. My only complaint (and reason for not giving a 5-star review) is that the restrooms need some serious attention-deep cleaning and updates. While this wasn't our first visit to the Polish Villa, I'm glad to say the quality is still great and it won't be our last! read more

First of all, it's a shame that I even have to leave this review. This was one of the worst customer experiences that I ever had. On 4/28/26 I placed a takeout order for 2 platters and an order of potato pancakes with apple sauce. When I walked in there was only 1 person eating inside, there were no other customers other than myself. I walked up to the register and gave my name for the order and paid for it. I grabbed the meals and headed home. Once home, I pulled the meals out and noticed that the salads were missing, no apple sauce and no rye bread. I called the restaurant to let them know about the missing items. They told me that I could come back and get the missing items. I told them that I'm not close and requested a refund back to my card for the missing items. They told me they could not do that, and I would have to come back to get a refund. I said that was not an option and they did not seem to care about my request. Again, they asked me what I wanted them to do. I again told them to give me a credit on my card and once again they said no. At this point I'm getting upset with the fact they don't care about my situation. We kept going back and forth getting nowhere. I eventually had to hang up on them. At no point did they say they were sorry for the mistake; they didn't even ask me for my information to have someone look into my situation. It was going to be their way or nothing. I have been going to Polish Villa for over 40 years and it's the closest Polish food to my mothers, so when dinning there or taking the meals home it's not just about the food, it's about the memory of my mother's cooking that kept me coming back. Next, I went with a Greek salad but it honestly lacked a lot of flavor with the chicken. It was super dry & bland. My husband got the smoked kielbasa but he didn't really enjoy it. This establishment has been a stable for authetic Polish food, for over forty years within the Cheektowaga and surrounding communities. I've found since the start of the pandemic, my mom and I were always firm belivers patience overall is key, rather its service, or something else when going out to eat. We've never had poor service will dining in or dining out. I've always come here for my birthday, pretty frequently, as it is one of my favorite places to eat in the area. My go to is usually either the lazy pierogi, as there portion sizes are always tasty, and quite large in my opinion. The second choice is the Polish Platter ( 2 pieorgi, kupsta, potato pancake, and bread. The third choice being Beef with Kluski noodles ( the smaller portion) from the dinner plate. My moms favorite were the pieorgi, czernia, and beef with kluski noodles. Brianna, was my waitress, and then there was only one other waitress, that was on during the week on a Wednesday. Overhearing that they had gotten slammed with to go orders, and the dining room was a bit busy, in my opinion she did a great job taking care of patrons, along with the other waitress. Were all human and make mistakes from time to time. Even if a mistake was made, it was fixed fairly quick. My birthday was on December 1, and what stuck out to me the most was her kindess, and genuiness, to help me celebrate the first birthday without my mom. Thank you for making me feel as a valued patron, and happy that I was there and you were able to give excellent customer service. As a Yelper for awhile now, I've oberved on my own, and with my mom prior to her passing , we went places all kinds of different situations with great service and some not so great. Throwback Restaurant. It reminds me of the east side of Buffalo Broadway in the 60s and 70s when I was a kid. The food is homemade it is all very good. I took my kids who liked the food, but they thought the atmosphere was too traditional. Which it is. I've gotten the same dish both times I've been there and I will always get this dish. It was roast beef and gravy, sandwiched between two potato pancakes, with side of hot or in this most recent experience, warm cabbage. My daughter got a grilled cheese which she liked. My other son got a club sandwich which he liked and the other one got bacon and eggs. I will say something that we all noticed, and it was the kitchen staff coming into the dining room to talk to the wait staff or to use the bathrooms. Their aprons and shirts were filthy. Really filthy. It will give me pause to go in again. It was that bad. But the food is really good. Amateur is not much just your standard Polish pictures on the wall for decor. I had the lunch special something called city chicken. It was pork cubes breaded and deep fried. served on skewers with a choice of potato and sauerkraut.. It was nasty.
