I suggest cariaco and the fried lumpia!
    Krystle A.

Located inside the seafood city also next to a red ribbon. Definitely go for their famous pan de sal, always baked fresh and affordable. Perfect for breakfast, typical bread and butter with your coffee. I personally love their carioca stick dessert it's $2.99 for 3 balls, it's definitely a kid friendly treat as well, my kids love them. Their huge fried vegetable lumpia is so crispy and filled with lots of veggies and ground chicken, kinda steep for the price... it's $2.79 but it's really filling and good, I'd go for a different vinegar sauce than the one they give tho, it's better with spicy vinegar. I haven't tried their other desserts but they have also other baked breads like ensaymada and ube bread, and cheese rolls! You do have to spend $10 to use a credit card and they prefer Visa cards. The place looks very clean and the service was quick and friendly.

Valerio's Tropical Bakeshop is located inside Seafood City Market in Rancho Cucamonga. Here you will find an array of Filipino baked goods. They offer specialty breads like pan de sal, pastries, desserts (kakanin) and savory items. I usually come by here to pick up fresh pan de sal in the morning, and will pick up a few bags for both ny sisters' homes. My nieces really love the Ube bread. One of my favorites is the Cheese Roll. It's basically a ball of brioche bread stuffed with sweetened cream cheese. Yum. There's so much to choose from and these make great hostess gifts if visiting friends or family. I recommend giving the hot pan de sal, Ube bread, hopia, and Cheese Rolls. This shop is very small and you can't bring your cart inside - the aisles are just too tight. Friendly cashier. Takes most form of payment.

The Filipino deserts app has mold. Brought these to a party and thank God it was discovered by my guests at the party. Called to get a refund and below me off as a joke. Mind you my wife and I live one hour away and demanded that we bring back the product that was purchased back to them to inspect. I have been purchasing deserts from them for over 35 years and spend a lot of money. So sad and no accountability and glad no one got sick. I will be letting the San Bernardino health dept know of this crooked establishment not following State and court health codes.

First tried this place in Vegas and didn't know there was one in rancho. It's located inside seafood city market. There are other eateries inside along with valerio's. These hard working bakers are producing great sweet and savory pastries and breads. They had a variety of selections we tried the chicken empanadas, cheese rolls and cheese muffin. We devoured our empanadas before I could take a pic. They're baked and a pretty substantial parcel. It was like a chicken pot pie hand pie with a touch of sweet. Really good. It's a great spot to pick up freshly baked goods on the go. Will be back for more.

This is a small bakeshop with very narrow aisles. I'm not sure if it's present location keeps the price down but I hope they get help to better present their displayed goods upon entering from the street. I've held off on a full review to give them a chance to get settled as the products during their early years weren't as good as the location in West Covina. I've only tried a couple of their bagged items. As for those items purchased, I've been fortunate to not have the issues as some of the reviewers encountered. Their Spanish bread and cheese rolls have consistently been good purchases. However, the reason this location has become a staple is their fresh baked goods. Hot pan de sal in the morning and chicken empanadas in the afternoon are the items of choice. The prices may have increased but the flavor has remained the same. With a small space and plenty of inventory on the counters, there's only room for one cash register. At busy times, team members help take orders and bag them while the cashier completes the transaction. Like many small businesses, there's a lot of growing pains. From my experience, communicate with the team of your issues so they can produce better products. They've been at this location for a while so it seems they are committed to serving good Filipino baked goods.

#104 for 2021 When my mom visited she liked Vaerio's for their bread goods especially for the pan de sal. A childhood favorite of hers that brought back many cherished .memories for her. I miss her. I think of her often when I pick up the pan de sal. They do carry other delicious goodies too like ensamada. Those are my favorites. I don't like the cheese on top that are more commonly fond around other Filipino bakeries. Yeah I'm old school that way. There is a ton of ube goods too if you love that purple color as much as I do. Other favorites include kusinta, siopao, puto, hopia and other breads

    Mold on hopia
    Grace D.

Molded and expired Hopia from Valerio's. No words... Just unacceptable... very disrespectful to say the least... this establishment clearly does not regard the possible health and safety of its customers. For me, I had a bite of the hopia since I didn't notice the mold until I disgustingly tasted it and realized it was bad. Sorry for me, it was too late. And one more thing, this isn't the first time. I have had bought bread that kinda tasted sour in the past. The Filipino in me craves the Filipino baked goods but after this molded hopia experience.... NEVER AGAIN!!!!

    Haba Haba Ube

I have been buying their Haba Haba Ube for years and lately I have noticed that that the quality is going downhill, even the filling before was full from end to end of the bread but now it was somewhat getting less of it. Last Feb. 10, I gave it another chance and bought one to try because I would think that they had a bad batch but it turned out to be even worst than before. The ube filling doesn't taste like it and the butter or margarine that was used is so low quality that I can really taste the difference of a cheap product even though I am not that picky. If you are trying to keep up with inflation, just raise the price and not lower the quality. I hate food waste so I have to consume it.

    Toni S.

I love Valerios for some of their sweets like their haba haba ube, but other items are just okay to me. I ordered turon and they were decent, not fresh. I tried their suman and it wasn't the best that I've tried. Their pan de sal continues to be good so I do recommend that compared to red ribbon. But that's just my preference. As far as customer service... it's not that great to me. I kept trying to ask questions and order more but the cashier was so distracted talking to the other worker. I kept having to repeat myself because the cashier wasn't paying attention to me.

    Thuat L.

Small Filipino bakery that sells a variety of savory and sweet Filipino treats. They offer hard to find mochi, fresh pandesal, and a ton of ube items. However, the items cannot be kept for more than a couple of days before they start to mold. Unfortunately, I purchased ube donut bread filled with custard and haba haba ube bread only to discover when I got home that the ube had mold all over it. I didn't want to waste a trip back to return it, so everything was trashed.

Came by and noticed that they had Ube pandesal baked today. If you love Ube, you've got to try this because it's so delicious! Whenever we go to Seafood City, we always go here to pick up something. Today, it's Ube pandesal. Employee was nice and fast with service.

070121. When I say there are pickings at 9 am...

TLDR: come here when you're not picky or starving. I am originally from SF Bay Area. I'm not a fan of Filipino bakeshops for a handful of reasons. Valerio's has long been increasing their prices at ridiculous rates. Every year seems like an increase of 75 cents as the size of baked goods decreases in amount by 25%. I say this as a resident of SoCal for three years now, and been forced to drive 30 minutes for scraps. Yes, baked goods that have been tossed and picked through. Firstly, I am unhappy about the hours. Why is this bakery open at 9am? I am sorry I'm used to other Valerio's opening at 6am, with shelves full and pricey. This location had absolutely nothing at 9am except for leftovers from the day before. Final score: one star or less. Overpriced for measly amounts. Late opening. Hardly anything available unless you're lucky. Clearly this location is someone's hustle, not livelihood. Why is there no good Filipino bakery in SoCal? I want pandesal and fluffy baliwags. Is that too much to ask?

Bought pan de ube with a strand of curly hair on it inside the bag :(

Their pan de ube is delicious, never disappointed. until recently... found a pubic (?) hair on my bread inside the bag :(

I emailed that Saturday while still in the store, and by Sunday morning I already had a response from Victoria. She was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process! I sent her inspiration pictures, and she quickly provided three different quote options. All of the inspiration cakes I sent included fresh flowers, and Victoria explained that we would need to bring our own flowers to the bakery the Friday before pickup so they could safely place them on the cake the next morning. Everything went smoothly, and when we arrived to pick up the cake, it looked absolutely stunning! The flowers we brought in were beautifully arranged, and the entire cake looked elegant and professionally done. My wife clearly stated she needed a gluten free cake. Hours later, the business owner sent a follow-up text, even though the dietary requirement had already been discussed. Instead of handling it professionally, the owner became defensive and dismissive. During the call, we were spoken to in a condescending and hostile tone. I responded in a condescending tone to match theirs, and the owner abruptly hung up. After the call, the owner later sent a text instructing us not to contact the business again, even though we had not called or texted back. The deposit was refunded, but the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional. This was never about the additional $15. It was about honesty, transparency, and professionalism. Instead of acknowledging the misunderstanding, the owner doubled down, deflected blame, and personally attacked a customer. Even more concerning is that the owner's response tries to attack my character publicly instead of addressing the facts. They brought up a dealership review from eight years ago, which was simply about negotiating a vehicle purchase, to claim we "bully" businesses. This is irrelevant and clearly an attempt to discredit us rather than take responsibility. Based on this experience, it is clear that accountability does not exist at this business, and that they are more focused on trying to silence or detract from what occurred than taking responsibility. Update: Additionally, after I responded to the original reply, the business owner edited their response and changed the story, context, and accusations in an apparent effort to further discredit me. Upon arrival, the cake was ready to go. The place was busy with customers picking up some pan dulce and they also have breakfast burritos. It's a cute little shop and it looks like they're doing well! Happy to see it! The cake was PERFECT! Decorated perfectly and it tasted incredible! I am definitely a fan of this place and will be back! Thank you, Alebrijes Bakery!

I can't believe I haven't yet left a review! I've loved Alebrijes bread since before it was…read moreAlebrijes (back when it was a home kitchen and delivery service). I was so happy to be able to buy bread locally at a panadería vs the grocery store nearby. It makes a huge difference when you get to enjoy warm, freshly baked bread. I love the variety of breads that are offered - my favorites are still the mini conchas, the puerquitos, and the polvorones. I'm especially grateful that they added a food menu - it's saved me from starvation, and people around me from my hanger. I also really appreciate that they've allowed me to try tamales I have never had the chance to try before (I love the oaxaqueños made with mole). Not only is this a great place to get delicious pan and food, but it's also helping to serve as a community space where everyone is safe and welcomed. It's a place where you won't just see Latinos rushing in to buy and have a quick chat, but it welcomed anyone who has an interest in eating Mexican pan and food. There have been countless times when I see people coming in wanting to try something even if they don't yet know what they'll like. Everyone from owners, to owners' family, and staff are incredibly nice and informative. They patiently answer questions and often have some yummy treats to sample. It feels like you're going home to visit the Tia that spoils you with food. I really loved when the family was tending the shop, because I enjoyed hearing the stories of how recipes were obtained and how a certain kind of technique worked best. I find it fascinating because it wasn't just about food, but the history and stories behind it. It's a beautiful way to showcase our culture. I hope that they continue to grow and be even more successful.
