It's not as eye-catching as Red Ribbon's storefront or even within the Seafood City, but it feels more homely and warm. The cashiers always remind me of Tita's. Just have some patience, they usually look like they're trying to work the pos. There's a minimum limit to card purchases so make sure you buy a few things or bring cash. These do look like they're freshly made. I am not a fan of Ensamadas, due to the buttery rich flavor and content. But this time I bought one of the Ube ones, and I will definitely repurchase this whenever I'm in the area again. It's nice and light yet still as tasty as any Ube products. I am a die-hard fan of Pan De Sal from here. If you like Hawaiian Rolls, these will be ten times better and more filling too. Perfect for breakfast, typical bread and butter with your coffee. I personally love their carioca stick dessert it's $2.99 for 3 balls, it's definitely a kid friendly treat as well, my kids love them. Their huge fried vegetable lumpia is so crispy and filled with lots of veggies and ground chicken, kinda steep for the price... it's $2.79 but it's really filling and good, I'd go for a different vinegar sauce than the one they give tho, it's better with spicy vinegar. I haven't tried their other desserts but they have also other baked breads like ensaymada and ube bread, and cheese rolls! You do have to spend $10 to use a credit card and they prefer Visa cards. Valerio's has been a staple in my home since childhood. Staff is always welcoming, and service is quick. It is a small bakery located inside Seafood City, so seating is located in the food court. However, most customers take their purchases to go. Restrooms are available in the main market. It can get loud due to high traffic in both the bakery and the main store. Parking is easy since the building is in a large plaza. They have a vast selection of both sweet and savory goods. They also have many fresh-cooked items available, including empanadas, pancit palabok, and siopao. They don't always have everything, so be sure to visit multiple times. I highly recommend purchasing their pandesal if you don't want to venture too far out of your comfort zone. Nothing I've ever bought has seemed stale. Prices are fair to a little on their higher side, but it's always been worth it in my opinion. They have multiple locations, all of which specialize in different things. They offer specialty breads like pan de sal, pastries, desserts (kakanin) and savory items. I usually come by here to pick up fresh pan de sal in the morning, and will pick up a few bags for both ny sisters' homes. My nieces really love the Ube bread. One of my favorites is the Cheese Roll. It's basically a ball of brioche bread stuffed with sweetened cream cheese. Yum. There's so much to choose from and these make great hostess gifts if visiting friends or family. First tried this place in Vegas and didn't know there was one in rancho. It's located inside seafood city market. There are other eateries inside along with valerio's. These hard working bakers are producing great sweet and savory pastries and breads. They had a variety of selections we tried the chicken empanadas, cheese rolls and cheese muffin. We devoured our empanadas before I could take a pic. They're baked and a pretty substantial parcel. It was like a chicken pot pie hand pie with a touch of sweet. Really good. I'm not sure if it's present location keeps the price down but I hope they get help to better present their displayed goods upon entering from the street. I've held off on a full review to give them a chance to get settled as the products during their early years weren't as good as the location in West Covina. I've only tried a couple of their bagged items. As for those items purchased, I've been fortunate to not have the issues as some of the reviewers encountered. Their Spanish bread and cheese rolls have consistently been good purchases. However, the reason this location has become a staple is their fresh baked goods. Hot pan de sal in the morning and chicken empanadas in the afternoon are the items of choice. The prices may have increased but the flavor has remained the same. With a small space and plenty of inventory on the counters, there's only room for one cash register. At busy times, team members help take orders and bag them while the cashier completes the transaction. Like many small businesses, there's a lot of growing pains. From my experience, communicate with the team of your issues so they can produce better products. #104 for 2021 When my mom visited she liked Vaerio's for their bread goods especially for the pan de sal. A childhood favorite of hers that brought back many cherished .memories for her. I miss her. Just unacceptable... very disrespectful to say the least... this establishment clearly does not regard the possible health and safety of its customers. I have been buying their Haba Haba Ube for years and lately I have noticed that that the quality is going downhill, even the filling before was full from end to end of the bread but now it was somewhat getting less of it. Last Feb. 10, I gave it another chance and bought one to try because I would think that they had a bad batch but it turned out to be even worst than before. The ube filling doesn't taste like it and the butter or margarine that was used is so low quality that I can really taste the difference of a cheap product even though I am not that picky. If you are trying to keep up with inflation, just raise the price and not lower the quality. I hate food waste so I have to consume it. read more

I love Valerios for some of their sweets like their haba haba ube, but other items are just okay to me. I ordered turon and they were decent, not fresh. I tried their suman and it wasn't the best that I've tried. Their pan de sal continues to be good so I do recommend that compared to red ribbon. But that's just my preference. As far as customer service... it's not that great to me. I kept trying to ask questions and order more but the cashier was so distracted talking to the other worker. TLDR: come here when you're not picky or starving. I am originally from SF Bay Area. I'm not a fan of Filipino bakeshops for a handful of reasons. Valerio's has long been increasing their prices at ridiculous rates. Every year seems like an increase of 75 cents as the size of baked goods decreases in amount by 25%. I say this as a resident of SoCal for three years now, and been forced to drive 30 minutes for scraps. Yes, baked goods that have been tossed and picked through. Firstly, I am unhappy about the hours. Why is this bakery open at 9am? I am sorry I'm used to other Valerio's opening at 6am, with shelves full and pricey. This location had absolutely nothing at 9am except for leftovers from the day before. Final score: one star or less. Overpriced for measly amounts. Late opening. Bought this yesterday afternoon- Saturday around 6:45pm- Bibingka with Salted Egg- it comes with 2 Bibingka- the size is okay for $5.98 price- my husband had a bite said that the Bibingka tasted weird so I tried it. What is the difference between a Filipino empanada and a Mexican/Cuban/Peruvian/Central American one? To get your answer, take a quick jaunt over to Seafood City in Rancho Cucamonga so you can see for yourself. Seafood City is the Filipino answer to 99 Ranch Market, just not as big. Inside the market is an independent bakery known as Valerios, and Valario's is the answer to the more familiar Asian 85C Bakery, Red Ribbon Bakery, and Leelin Bakery (formerly known as Goldilocks), but I think Valerio's need not worry. A small bakery, they carry some very interesting home-style baked goods, desserts and breads, some of which I was unfamiliar. The ones that look like a yeast roll with crumbs on top? Wowee! The interior has a sweetened cream cheese + shredded mild cheddar filling that made me greedy. We got lucky that day, there was a box of 4 sitting on the counter, marked 50% off, which I snatched. What better way to try something new? And if they tasted that good as day-old, imagine the possibilities? The Bibingka, a rice flour and coconut cake that is baked in banana leaf, was spot on. Very light and moist. The sesame balls (looks like a fried Chinese pastry made from glutinous rice, Jian Dui) with ube and ground peanut filling were not so great. There are many more interesting things in the refrigerator case. Keep looking. But we had come for Filipino style empanadas. I guess Filipinos like a sweeter pastry. While not too sweet, their version of a hand pie was baked with an egg yolk glaze and generous sized. Valario's offers just one type of filling, a shredded dark meat chicken and mushroom/vegetable blend that is moist, savory and easy to like. In typical fashion, we bought enough to feed an entire 3rd world country. Good thing. Once we arrived home, our own 3rd world family magically appeared; there were many mouths to feed. I read my yf Ruel G's review, and I said I have to check this place out the next time I am in the area. I was a bit skeptical because Red Ribbon has a location right next door. However, after taking a walk through I realized that Valerio's has the stuff I would see at family gatherings: Bibingka, Biko, Kutchinta, Leche Flan, Pichi Pichi & Puto. In addition, they also have siapao, pan de sal and empanadas. On the other hand, Red Ribbon has real cakes, i.e., more fancy items. I ended up buying the Pichi Pichi (mochiko rolled in coconut and sesame seeds) and leche flan. The leche flan was not as good as Mom's, but it was still very good. Filipino flan has condensed milk and is very thick and firm compared to Latin flans: 4 Stars. The pichi pichi was OK. It was a bit thin and didn't have enough sesame seeds for my palate: 3 Stars. Come to Valerios if you want some homey type items that are filling, grab & go style, and easy on the pocket book. One of the worst customer service Ever. A Filipino man just came and and ordered in front. The cashier right away serves him while there's a line in front of him. It was my first time there so I was observing how to order. While the man was paying I approached and ask the cashier if o should get in line or just order in front. What is there not to say about Valerio's? I've been a fan since I first discovered this bakery back in 97' in Carson across from the Carson Civic center and my junior high school Carnegie. Those days the bread was served hot and fresh @ 10 cents a roll for a roll of pan desol. When I was living in the Bay Area they had the same great hot, fresh Taste in Union city East Bay. Now being here back home in Southern California, we found another Valerio's in Rancho Cucamonga (Inland Empire) just a few miles south from home. The taste is still the bomb! The consistency in these breads never disappoint no matter what city. Considering that I am a bit more careful with my carb intake, I more than likely would save those carbs for these breads. Is it that serious?! Yes it is!! No lie! Tip: for my Polynesian folks who want an awesome Mana pua ( siopao/ steamed or baked) this is the place! 10/10 The pan de cocoa ( sweet filled coconut bread ) 10/10 Pineapple/cream cheese French bread 10/10 Spanish bread 10/10 These are just my top favs. Everything is good here.
