Everyone should go on this gourmet food tour, and she will learn new places to go and new fun things to eat. We went last year when we were in Puerto Vallarta in would like to go back to some of the restaurants we visited. This is a definite and we should do it in Puerto Vallarta! Love you really want to have a fun afternoon, and you're really hungry, go on the taco tour! It was a fun group as we wander the streets of Puerto Vallarta stopping at all the street vendors. We had it least ate tacos and ice cream and got to sample candy. our guide was interesting and fun and made it a very fun afternoon. Ask for Andrea she's the best.

Highly recommend this wonderful tour! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with our knowledgeable host, Manny. His presentation was outstanding not only on the delicious foods we ate but on the history of the foods, restaurants and Puerto Vallarta, itself. Manny was very pleasant, articulate and he had a great sense of humor. We especially enjoyed a unique taco, the churros and ice cold popsicle at the end of the tour.

I consider myself an adventurous foodie. So naturally, I was on the fence about paying for something I could have done on my own. Could I have yelped every taco stand and did my own? Of course. But I would have had to read through hundreds of snarky posts to get a bunch of opinions. Ultimately we ended up doing this tour and it was AMAZING! I got to make my own review of each place visited while learning lots more about the area than I ever anticipated. With the tour we had gotten some first hand knowledge from locals about how each stand prepared their tacos, when they were available (some are morning stands and some evening), what made them special, a little about families and lives of those preparing our meals, etc. It was truly an intimate look into the neighborhood with an authentic dive into the local pulse, and brought me further out of where I may have adventured on my own. Our tour guide, Paz, was awesome. She was super friendly and had lots of knowledge about each stand we visited. Overall we visited about 11 spots. Some were places where you could get agua frescas, dessert, baked goods, or fresh tortillas, etc. It was a comprehensive tour to ensure a variety of great treats during your stay. One suggestion was to come hungry, which I did and normally food is no obstacle, but even toward the end i got a little full. But the food was so good, I insisted on trying everything... even the heart, liver, tripe taco at Birria Chanfay! The great thing about the tour was that we got to sample places before venturing out on our own. We visited several of the stands more than once during our week long stay and if I were there for longer would have visited them ALL again. I highly recommend this tour if you are considering it in the slightest.

Karla was amazing on our birria tour. She was So informative, patient, and kind. Amazing food, authentic local spots we would never find on our own. Such a great way to start our day! Highly recommend and ask for Karla she was lovely!

Did the Tacos after Dark tour with Susie and she was unbelievable. Not only was she so informative, she made us feel VIP the entire time. We had 12 tacos in all, churros and ice cream, safe to say we were beyond stuffed. Everything we had was amazing. Susie was 10/10 I would highly recommend requesting her.

The best day tour in Vallarta. I've done it four times, each time with different friends. And, to a person, everyone loved it. Don't hesitate - sign up now!

Best, most authentic food tour in Vallarta! Our local guide, Suzy, was amazing. She was bubbly, fun, and extremely knowledgeable of the food, the area, the culture, and the people. The stands and businesses chosen for this tour were outstanding and of excellent quality and character. This is a must do, even if you've visited Vallarta more than once.

I took the dinner tour with my boyfriend & his family and everyone loved it. We got ample food and had a cocktail at all four stops. The restaurants we went to were all cute inside/outside and the food was very good as well. (My favorite stop was De Cantaro. The cocktails and mole were 10/10.) I'd also like to add that our tour guide was Paz and she was fantastic. The food was good, but she made the experience that much better. She even gave us tips for other places to eat when we visited Sayulita as well. We loved this tour!

OMG! Always the best experience in Puerto Vallarta. I've taken a few tours by them. All of the food was so delicious, and just had such a good time on the tours. The tour guides know so much about the food, city, culture. I did the taco tour before, and I'm vegetarian. I couldn't eat everything, but I was definitely stuffed by the end of it...there was plenty of food and other things to try. This time in Vallarta I tried their new tour, the chocolate and vanilla discovery tour. It was AMAZING. I want to do it again. Paz, the guide, was super knowledgeable and fun. I liked everything I tried, especially all of the chocolate!!!

Wonderful tour with Fernanda. Did a 10am taco tour. Was a nice mix of history, culture and amazing food in the backdrop of a lovely city. Loved that we were traveling away from the touristy places and into the local neighborhoods and supporting local family owned businesses. Also very much appreciated that Fernanda was local and told us personal stories of some of the places we visited. The food was great. The aguas frescas were refreshing and ending with the candy shop and palletas was perfect. The tour was the absolute highlight of our trip to Puerto Vallerta. I wish we had done this tour first thing so that we could come back on another day for round two. Also, customer service is great. I had a few change requests that were taken care of quickly and graciously. Very much appreciated. Recommend not eating anything before the tour. My daughter and I ended up sharing the last 4 of 8 tacos because we were so full. Highly recommend following their motto "come hungry!"

We had a great time on our taco tour with Manny! Each of the taco places was delicious (the tacos al pastor was our favorite, but only slightly because everything tasted so good), and we also had great churros & paletas (all natural popsicles ). We felt safe, as places were all clean & required hand sanitizer use, disposable plate coverings & other than while eating mask use. I would take this tour again & we have already been back to 2 of the places for more tacos!

First stop: birria (spicy Mexican stew) for breakfast! Rumor has it that this dish cures hangovers!

Book this food tour immediately!!! Our family booked a taco tour with Vallarta Eats during our stay in Puerto Vallarta in November 2012 and this food tour was one of the highlights of our vacation!!! Our tour guide, Guillermo "Memo", was so friendly and informative and felt like family by the end of the tour. We started the tour at 10:00 a.m. on the Insurgentes Bridge (north-bound) in Old Town Puerto Vallarta. Memo brought us to local food carts that we would have never been brave enough to try on our own. We made about 12 different stops so I would advise skipping breakfast because we were all stuffed by the end of the tour! Not all of the stops were for tacos. Between tacos we stopped at a bakery, butcher shop for Pork Belly and Chicharron (fried pork skin), the local produce market and seafood market, and a local Mexican candy store. Some of the highlights of the tour included trying corn tortillas hot off the press, eating skewers of meat on the beach, and trying birria (spicy Mexican stew) we had for breakfast. Apparently it is also a cure for hangovers! Not only did we discover where the locals eat in Puerto Vallarta, but Memo also advised us on restaurants to eat at during our visit. His suggestions did not disappoint! This tour lasts about 4 hours and all of the tacos and food you eat is included in the $55 price (tips not included). The tour is done on foot so dress comfortably and skip the high heels. The 1.5 mile walk is easy, but it the sun was a bit brutal (and I'm from Florida!) so pack a hat and sunscreen! Even if you are not a foodie I am certain you will enjoy this taco tour as much as we did!

You get a bag for all your goodies when you book a tour

Star was a great guide. Her English is great (think Sophia Vergara). Tours are small (6 to 8) to give everyone a great personal experience. For the Tacos and More Tour you will meet near the Insurgentes Bridge by Le Bistro restaurant. Our tour lasted 3 hours and we stopped and ate at all local taco stands that you mostly won't find on a tourist map. We stopped at 6 taco stands, a quesadilla stand, a bakery, a butcher shop, 2 markets, a tortilla factory, an ice cream store and a candy store. In all, it was about 17 stops. You will find more than just good food, but you will learn more about the culture, the people, and the area. By the end you will feel like a local, you will know how to order at any taco stand, and you will never settle for Taco Bell again. Our guide knew all the vendors and if you wanted more, she was able to get you seconds. Pace yourself though. Even though you might get only half of something to try it out, that might be just enough Be sure to bring your good walking shoes and a huge appetite. My companion was full by the 4th stand and basically only tasted everything. Do not worry if you are vegetarian, etc., your guide will help you at each stand. We have birria , carnitas, octopus, shrimp, mahi mahi, marlin, and barbacoa as far as my stomach can remember. Star was very helpful and even provided us with wet frozen towels to cool us down. The morning tour leaves at 10am and you do cross some swaying ripe bridges so if you have vertigo or are not sure footed you might want to try something else. Why does this tour start at 10? Believe it or not, there are things such as breakfast tacos! So eat a very light breakfast. If the tour started at 12pm or in the evening, these places will not be open! Many might wonder about health and sickness. Neither of us got sick during or after our trip and we ATE everything. All vendors appear to exercise strict health standards, While we were offered seconds during the whole trip but we just could not eat another bite. We came back the next day for more from our favorites. This is not just any taco tour and would be hard to do yourself. We had already researched several street taco stands but none of the one's we visited were on our list of "musts". I'd list all the stands but many don't even have street addresses and some are only morning or afternoon stands that locals know. The most popular was Marisma Fish Tacos. Get the Mahi Mahi and add the special soy and jalapeno sauce. Or add the rat tail ( it is a pepper sauce with a pepper that has a long tail). Did I mention that each stop comes with a drink. I'm not a big fan of Agua Fresca in the States, but wow, the agua fresca here was amazing, Hopefully you get hibiscus! Eric (the tour proprietor) was very helpful with the reservation time and online payment via paypal. Star also helped by taking many photos and we received them in a thank you note within hours after our trip ended. One caution - you might fall in love with Puerto Vallarta and not go home.

We balked at this because so many are tourist traps operated by non-Mexican large companies, but then we found Vallarta Local and decided to give them a try as they are locally owned. I'm so glad we did. We did the Breakfast Tacos tour and it was one of the most memorable tours we've ever done. AnnaLo was a fantastic guide and educated us not only about the city itself, but the history of different tacos and local cuisine. We visited six taco stands owned by local families, all of which have perfected their own meats and styles. Every taco was better than the last. And the sauces! My gosh, the varied and delicious sauces that each stand offered were unlike anything I've ever had before. It's hard to find sauces like this in America because everything is either not fresh or watered down, and I will never forget the nuances of flavors that every sauce added to every unique taco. Afterwards, we visited a fresh fruit popsicle shop and the place where most local tortillas are made. We both got a freshly made tortilla and a bit of salt and rolled it up to enjoy like a snack while AnnaLo told us about the importance of tortillas and how eating tortillas as a snack reminds most Mexicans of their childhood, picking up tortillas on their way home from school. It was truly a journey and we both left full. By the end, AnnaLo felt less like a tour guide and more like a friend that we've known for a while. Getting to know her was a highlight of the trip in itself. We hope to return to Puerto Vallarta soon, and when we do, we will absolutely be booking another tour.

We were provided with neck gaiters, goggles and helmets. This was a private tour, so just two of us and our guide and a photographer/videographer. (NOTE - make sure you take some photos of your own along the way). So much better than a slow dusty caravan of the group tours. Then, off we went! The first bit of the ride is through city streets to get to the road up the mountain. The cobblestones of PVR gave way to dirt roads and some paved areas at smaller towns along the way. After an hour or so, we stopped at a small bar/restaurant and enjoyed a beverage by a waterfall. We had a great conversation with Agustina about traveling. The road up the mountains has some holes and some puddles so you have to pay attention, and we occasionally encountered some traffic (mostly other ATV tours or buses) and a bull, a donkey, a cat, and several dogs. The speed bumps in the residential areas can sneak up on you, too! The views of the mountains are beautiful and you spend a lot of time running along the Cuale River. We always felt safe and Augustina was a fabulous leader!! When we returned to the office, the videographer had compiled our video and photos to review on the computer. The price was a bit silly $1500 pesos ($100US) for either the photos or the video, $2000 pesos for both. So, we passed on that. We have already recommended the tour to fellow travelers and would even take the same tour again ourselves. Highly recommend!!

We originally were supposed to travel w/10 families, but 6 cancelled due to the cartel leader being unalived over a month ago. We almost cancelled our trip due to the travel advisory and friends and family advising us not to go for safety reasonings. We had no issues on our trip and even travelled into town to do some glass shopping. Anyhow, I chose this company based off the good reviews and we wanted a trust worthy transportation company during this uncertainty. First off, I'm so glad I saved the pic of the directions on how to find them after baggage claim. Since it was our time in PV I didn't know what to expect at the airport. I can tell you that the shark tank with of scammers that don't work Vallarta will "pretend" they work for the company and will ask you for your name and try to mislead you that they are Vallarta transfers in the airport area where you see all the signs. I remember to meet with the people in the airport but my hubby and I almost fell for it cause they literally let us know that they were looking for us and worked for Vallarta transfers. Has actually called they said before you exit the airport. I can't believe we does. It seem so truthful. Read this! Do not talk to anyone in the airport for this company. They will say they work for the company and they don't and they will sign you up with a separate ticket. Those are scammers and should get arrested for this.!! I yelled at them to leave us alone! They are great liars and con-artists!! Ignore and BEWARE !! Exit airport and walk to left and cross the cross walk where you see the yellow stripes on side walk... you will than see a tall blue flag with "Vallarta Transfers" and a sign with your name. It was very nice to hear that we were at the right spot. That day was so crowded because it was a holiday weekend. And our driver had to wait an extra hour for us. Anyhow, it was very nice and relieved to see the right company and it was nice to be drinking a coronarita on the way to the resort. All the staff was very friendly and talkative. One person name that stood out was "Christopher". I remembered his name because my brother's name and he was very helpful giving us suggestions and telling us about the town. anyhow, the airport is 15 minutes from "Dreams" if anyone wants to know. We ended up doing the one-way pay instead of the round-trip pay. I guess we could've saved 30 bucks if we would've booked Uber XL on the way to the airport. We are promised that we would get beer on the way to the airport when we returned, please see the photo of the receipt. Then they emailed me and said sorry, we only do beer when we welcome you at the airport, but not when we drive you back on your departure. So that is why I give the four star review because in the email invoice they indicated they would give us beers both ways but it wasn't true.. It was $60-65 one way w/o tip. What I should've done was book Uber XL from resort to airport as it was giving me quotes for $17-23 one way without tip. We just had a ton of luggage that is why we booked it both ways. Ended up taking a Uber to town mid trip. It cost us $7 each way. We didn't have a bad experience. I Hope this review Will help you out on your next adventure. Yes we would use it again for one way only if we had less luggage. If You're traveling with no kids and less luggage and I would say go for the UberXL you will save money.
