I was able to pull up in front of Great Value Donuts and get an easy parking space. When I walked in two families were taking advantage of the restaurant area. Its an older facility. If I was to return, I would try to visit here on a day that's not a Sunday. The staff was very friendly but my cinnamon swirl donut wasn't so great and there wasn't much to pick from. read more

This was my first time at Vallejo Great Donuts. I was picking up 2 dozen donuts for an event I had going on down the street. The selection of donuts was freshly made. You could tell, the chef was out front chatting with customers with flour spattered across his burgundy apron. I consider myself a donut connoisseur. Great Donuts, hands down, are some of the best I have ever tasted. The staff are some of the friendliest folk in Vallejo. Let me let you in on a little secret. Next donut that isn't from GD, take a bite and taste the nasty ass chemicals/preservatives. It's a way to make more dough and extend its shelf life. F ckin boo! Then go to Great Donuts. On Saturday 9/24 I was taking an early morning trip to Petaluma. I stopped at Vallejo Great Donuts to get some donuts for the ride. The display case was full and there was a wide selection of donuts, twists and bars to choose from. I purchased two of the Sugar Twist Donuts. The first I had right away with my coffee. The donut was stillwarm. It had a wonderful crisp and cakey exterior and the inside was still creamy from the cooking process. It was the first fresh made donut I had in years and it was wonderful. I ate the second donut a few hours later and it had cooled completely. The exterior still had a wonderful crust but the interior was more cake like. Super sweet customer service but not a lot to choose from and wasn't really fresh. Maybe this was because it was later in the morning but it was a little underwhelming because everyone speaks so highly of it here. The really awesome thing is they do take card and touchless pay. Maybe that's why the selection was limited, they sold out early? So I will give them another try because they're a cute shop inside with really great service and they do deserve another shot. We just had Vallejo Great Donuts today for a morning meeting. It brightened the entire team's day. I daresay it was close to being a cronut. It looked like a regular chocolate glaze, but once I bit into it the center was light and fluffy, almost like a croissant. I can't label this a cronut, but I will say that it is the best donut in Vallejo and I would choose them over Dunkin' and Krispy Kreme. The cherished co-worker that brought the donuts in stated that they have meat pies, so I will be stopping by this location soon to try them. read more

Our new favorite place for donuts in Solano County! Unfortunately, I ate the donuts before I got a picture. They specialize in both donuts and meat pies. What makes these donuts stand out, is their ability to get a crispy outer bite, while still maintaining a soft fluffy doughnut inside. Usually the whole donut is soft, but these guys are able to get a nice crunchy on the outside while leaving the inside what you would expect from a soft fluffy donut. My favorite thing to do is to order their extraordinarily crispy maple old-fashioned and dip it into my black coffee, the perfect mix of sweet, salty, and bitter. Excellent job here every time! Like a bunyip hiding in the billabong we were curious of the tale about the mysterious Aussie Meat Pies of Vallejo. I threw on my stubbies, sunnies and thongs to visit this mythological donut shop. Growing up in Australia means that I have had lots of Meat Pies, from terrible to great. These ones probably used quality ingredients but were soggy and partially filled so a bit below average. Maybe we were unlucky. The sausage roll was better. One plus was that it didn't have the iconic "burn the roof of your mouth" Meat Pie temperature. read more

They advertise that they accept contactless payments but they do not. I drove here just for the owner to say she doesn't accept contactless payment...at minimum businesses need to be clear about what forms of payment they take. Then they have a sign that says minimum $5 must be spent to use card. No thanks, save yourself the time and go someplace else. read more

Ended up here as it was my "second option", and I'm glad I did. The other donut place half a mile away only accepted cash - which is ridiculous nowadays since there are hardly any banks around "hole-in-the-wall" type of places, so I came here after reading some good reviews. The area itself is a little sketchy, but then I forgot .. I'm in Vallejo - so gems are always hidden around sketchy areas. The people are pleasant, donuts are fresh and amazing. Since my bad experience last time, ive come back and had a nice experience each time. Their breakfast sandwiches and burritos are good, same with their donuts. I only wish it was a little less greasy, as the breakfast croissant was very greasy the one time i got it. The burritos could use some more seasoning or something as it was bland. read more

I love this little spot by my house! The lady cooks everything to perfection. Bacon crisp, potatoes perfect and fluffy eggs! OK I seldom come here. The main reason is I am off to work most days before 6AM and also up early on weekends. This place opens at 8AM which is unusual in the doughnut business. The place is a little dumpy inside and the selection is not extensive but the sweet rolls ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh they are divine. It you have a chance it you get the time come by and try something. Wow. .. possibly the best meat pie I've ever had! They are at hard to find here in the states and this did not disappoint my memories of the Aussie ones! Perfect size chunks of meat. Flakey crust and so much flavor. Coffee is decent, could be a little stonger, but overall good flavor. Got a French twist and cinnamon roll to go but couldn't resist a bite of each. They take card as well which is a plus because the others i go to dont. I live in benicia so i also go to a shop there for convenience, well the shop there sold out and to my surprise vallejo great donuts is owned by the same people! I have no idea how the donuts are, but the meat pies and sausage rolls are amazing. I was fortunate enough to spend my junior year of high school as an exchange student in Australia, and despite being a vegetarian, would make an exception for meat pies. This is my second experience with Great Donuts, and I can happily report that the cake donuts are light, fluffy, and moist without feeling dense; the yeast donuts are equally delicious and fresh. Staff are friendly and real, and they have a section off to the side to stay and eat your goods. In addition to pastries and coffee, they also serve egg dishes and sandwiches and are open till 4 or 5 pm...perhaps Vallejo has an undiscovered cafe-like setting here? Prices can appear to be on the steeper side, starting at $0.80 for your basic donut and going up to a bit over a buck for the specialty ones, but the specialty donuts are almost 2x the size of a normal one. Plus, I'd pay an extra $0.30 to have a delicious, satisfying donut over a crappy Dunkin Donut any day... read more
