If you want some real food. Home cooked real food with real ingredients like you will cook at home then stop by this establishment. It's very old school a little worn inside but whoever's in the kitchen will make up for it with flavor and their good hospitality. This is a great addition to Vallejo and they've been in Vallejo just as many years as I have so we're both newbies to some degree but I'm no newbie when it comes to good food and because my family is from down south and I know what I cook at home I can recognize the real when I taste it. Thank you for Stirring them pots the right way. I had a plate with catfish and oysters fried a side of fried okra and some cabbage. My lunch date had the oxtail plate which comes with rice and gravy and a two other side dishes so plenty of food. We both brought food home. My daughter walked in from school (met me there rather I should say) and ordered the chicken and waffles and she said it was really good as well. Hit Noonies up for some good food. And if you looking for nostalgia they serving up Kool-Aid go get you some

First timer: Food selection: Fried chicken yams, macaroni & cheese, meatloaf, dinner with corn and cabbage, bits and grits corn bread Fried chicken: tasted too much like flour not seasoned Grits too salty & clumpy Mac and cheese was decent Yams ok good flavor but half whole and some mushy Meatloaf not good it was like a clump of meat and not enough breadcrumbs or sauce the gravy was dry no flavor with the rice Cabbage had a weird taste didn't care for it Corn : decent it's hard to mess that up cornbread dry no flavor tasted old Service: defiantly need help I waited over an hour for my food which was way to long! Conclusion : upon coming here I expected the food to be good judging from the reviews but it just wasn't it especially for the price point of 65$ the food wasn't what I expected at all!! I probably won't return but at least I can say I Gave it a try ; hopefully they fix that batter and meatloaf and hire help!!

Shrimp Po' Boy - Packed with flavor and dripping with that southern comfort flair. Every bite was seasoned to perfection and had me nodding "yes" with every chew. 2-Piece Fried Chicken Meal - Only $5?! In today's world, that's a deal you just can't pass up. Crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right. Pure happiness on a plate without breaking the bank. Meatloaf Dinner - Hearty, tender, and smothered in gravy that tastes like home. This dish feels like it came straight out of grandma's kitchen. Warm, comforting, and exactly what soul food is supposed to be. Great food, friendly vibes, and prices that remind you good deals still exist. Definitely a spot worth coming back to again and again!

Smothered Meatloaf w/buttered corn and black eyed peas

Checked this place out earlier today and was more than satisfied! I ordered the smothered meatloaf plate with black eyed peas, buttered corn, corn bread, and a piece of fried basa. Had the lemon blueberry pound cake for dessert. The food tasted like true down home cooking. With that, the customer service was above and beyond. The ambiance of the place is on point as well. All in all, I'll definitely be back.

Woke up on an easy Saturday morning and decided on Noonie's for a hearty, savory breakfast. We came in and they were already playing some good smooth music. We put our order in and the staff was warm and welcoming. The food was delicious. Not to take away from the rest of the food but one of my highlights was the hash. It's something about when the simple things are done perfectly. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffle had a good fluff to it and topped with a really tasty butter. The chicken was crisp and juicy and seasoned to go well alongside the waffle. My wife got the pork chops, which came out exactly as she wanted it. She's the type that usually needs hot sauce with her breakfast, but the pork chops were done so well that she didn't feel the need for it. Thank you Noonie's for the warm vibes with great food.

French Fries. Seasoned well. My students loved them!

It's been a while since I've ordered from Noonie's so I ordered a meal to go. I really wanted the smothered oxtails with gravy and they delivered! Absolutely tender and so well seasoned. I got the meal with French Fries and hushpuppies and both were delicious. My students really loved the fries! The cornbread was also nice. I wasn't a big fan of the peach cobbler but it was a sweet treat. I just didn't care for the crust/bread. The wait was really reasonable for the afternoon and the service was quick.

Red Snapper, Basa, yams and cabbage
    Mark L.

Decided to give this place a try as I'd been looking for a soul food place to support locally. Tried the fried fish dinner and was blown away by the amount of food that was served as well as the flavor. I chose the Bass and Red Snapper with cabbage and yams for the sides. Everything was fresh and actually needed to take the last piece of Bass to go. This is now going to be on my regular stops as they also have a fried Oysters dinner .... Yep. Check them out soon.

Oxtails dinner with cabbage and macaroni salad

The service was prompt and polite. This was our first time here and we will be coming back. I had the oxtails dinner and the meat was tender and flavorful. My wife had the meatloaf which was juicy and tasty. Our server was accommodating and attentive.

    5 Five Dolla Holla

It's all about them wings baby. Firstly the service is great super friendly and inviting. The ambiance isn't glamorous It's not some romantic spot but what it lacks on that it makes up for in other ways. So I been craving some oxtails which I ordered with greens and mac and cheese as my sides. I got 3 pieces of tails one mega sized and the other two "smedium" but I was please with the portion for the price. If I paid $40 for them we'd have a problem but. 3 pieces for under 30$ In 2025 was we worth it. The oxtails were def a B plus. Seasoned tender, juicy great gravy, I love how they incorporated the pan drippings into making their gravy. Their mac & cheese was gooey cheesy seasoned with garlic powder and onion powder. It just lacked a little little bit of salt in my opinion. The greens collard greens. I mix with a little bit of spinach, onions garlic, bell peppers, turkey necks I want pieces of turkey you get bits of turkey not like those places that you might get one piece of turkey in a serving you got pieces of shredded turkey mixed up in the greens, and the potlicker delicious. We also ordered the chicken and waffles. Wooo them wings when I tell you, those wings were seasoned they were fried they were cooked. They were marinated to perfection. It has to be the best or second best wings I've ever had in the Bay Area. The waffles, the large, the thick it got cinnamon, so nutmeg is like a spice waffle kind of reminds me of French toast waffle or churros. Their potato salad was decent nothing To fancy. Their fired fish. Like their wings were fried floured and almost seasoned perfectly. Unlike the wings that needed. Nothing but to hop in my mouth. The fish needs a little bit of salt. Also ordered the candied yams which were also good not mushy. They give u a big piece of their cornbread. Now I'm a big cornbread fan and I ate all of it almost had to fight bae to leave my cornbread alone. But and for me this is a but and yes yall might let it slide it's cool. That ain't just cornmeal and flour I taste cornmeal and yellow cake mix? So it taste more like a corn cake then the corn bread I'm use to but it's was good really good and that glaze y'all put on top of it. Nice touch!!!! Overall this is a great spot to get some good food from!!!!! With great service

    Seafood Combo Large

I tried Noonie's place and I want to leave a review first off.The food was amazing! We had the seafood combo large size.It was enough food to feed about four people. The side dishes are so large 3 or 4 people can eat off of the side dishes. The seafood was fried crispy and fresh! The lemonade and desserts sweets are fabulous I had the peach cobbler. I would definitely recommend this food.Everything is fresh and very well prepared. The team and staff are courteous and friendly. The ambiance is comfy and welcoming.

Touch of Soul Soul Food Restaurant delivered one of the best comfort‑food experiences we have had in a long time. Every dish tasted like it was made with care, tradition, and a whole lot of love. The catfish was perfectly seasoned with a crispy golden crust and tender, flaky meat inside. The chicken wings were just as impressive --well‑seasoned, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The sides were the real stars, though. The yams were rich and buttery with just the right amount of sweetness. The potato salad was creamy and flavorful without being heavy. The greens had that slow‑cooked, soulful taste you can't fake, and the macaroni and cheese was exactly what mac and cheese should be--cheesy, comforting, and baked just right. And those corn muffins? Soft, warm, and the perfect finishing touch. From start to finish, the meal felt like a true home‑cooked experience. If you're looking for soul food that hits every note--flavor, comfort, and authenticity--Touch of Soul is absolutely worth the visit. The foot is priced just right, especially in today's economy. One last thing, the service was AWESOME!!!!

The first time I visited, it was late in the evening and they had already sold out of several items. The food I did try was average at best--about a 2.5/5. The second time, I went with someone who knew the owner, and the experience was completely different. Everything was excellent--easily a 5/5. Based on that visit, I felt confident enough to place a large catering order for a Black History Month event at my job. I ordered yams, dressing with gravy, greens, mac & cheese, fried catfish, fried chicken, cornbread, peach cobbler, and German chocolate cake. The total came to $590, which I paid immediately after confirming via text. I requested that the food be ready by 2 PM since the event started at 3 PM. When I arrived, nothing was ready. There was also confusion about my order--they initially only prepared one dessert, even though I was charged for both cobbler and cake. I had to show proof of my order to resolve that. As the food slowly became available, I was handed trays one at a time with no assistance, meaning I had to carry everything to my car by myself. On top of that, the cornbread I ordered was never provided. The food wasn't fully ready until around 3 PM, which caused delays for my event. Unfortunately, the quality didn't match my previous experience either. The fried catfish pieces were extremely small--more like nuggets than full portions. The dressing was undercooked and even had large turkey bones in it, which was unacceptable. The greens had excessive liquid, which I had to drain before transporting them. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. Order accuracy was a 1/5, timeliness and service (including lack of assistance) was a 1/5, and food quality was about a 2.5/5. Based on this experience, I will not be returning. For catering orders or anything from a local soul food restaurant I'd highly recommend Ys Choice.

My husband and I's favorite place to eat in the world is New Orleans so this place definitely did not disappoint. We started with coffee drinks, I had some sort of boozy espresso drink which I could have done without since the bitters tasted like licorice which is probably a taste preference. My husband had the grandma coffee which was also fine. Then the food came out and it went up from here! The catfish & grits just might be the best I've ever had. My husband also really enjoyed his banana foster French toast, & i loved that they allowed you to get one piece of fried chicken because i had to try it out despite a full meal. The wing I had was Nice & crunchy with a delicious sweet sauce on the side that reminded me of mambo sauce ( a DC staple.) My husband also had the gumbo which was good but I wouldn't say our favorite. I prefer my gumbo with a little more spice but that could just be personal preference. We ended the meal with beignets: I had the ube beignet which was so unique & flavorful! I don't think I would have had a chance to try that type of beignet anywhere else so glad to try something different, it was delicious. The crawfish beignet was also so flavorful! The beignets in general were much more bready than typical beignets but still very good & unique to this place. On top of that, the service was great & the food came out quick, hot & fresh! I wish we had more time (& stomach space) to try other items on the menu, everywhere we looked everything looked delicious so we'll just have to try more the next time we're back in SF!

We were seated by the front of house pretty quickly. The space could hold quite a few people, there is a bar area and outside seating. We sat in the back by the kitchen. It went well with our appetizers of fried okra and fried calamari. I really enjoyed the jalapeño aïoli that came with the okra so much that I started dipping the calamari in it. The calamari coating on the outside was a lot heavier than what I was used to, but it was still really tasty. For our main entrées, I got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens and my partner got the porch burger with fries. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly. It wasn't dry. It was juicy and I really liked putting their homemade hot sauce on the chicken and greens. The habanero hot sauce was really spicy, but I liked how sweet it was. My partner's burger was cooked perfectly and it was a big portion. I definitely recommend this place to someone who is bold enough to go on a date and still eat with their hands. Mac n cheese was good. Great option for kids.
