Arrived at 12:25pm their hours stated 12:30pm....15 minutes goes by.....still not open......12:50......someone said a few more minutes......1:15 doors open.....the cook isn't here but you can pay for your order until the cook get here....NO WAY! I left and drove all the way to Cheyla's Soul Food in Fairfield. Saddening you want us to support your business but you yourself are not professional and business oriented! Food: I was in Vallejo for a nail appointment and looking for some good food. I placed an order online using the app and set a pick up time. I arrived and the food was hot and ready. I ordered the oxtails, rice and gravy and collard greens. The oxtails were mid. The were a little tight and light skinned meaning they needed to brown a little more. There was not enough gravy for the rice. The collard greens were mid also. Ambiance: The restaurant was nothing special but lets face it -- we dont go to black soul food restaurants for ambiance. We go for good food and Noonies disappointed for food. Service: The service was cool. Nothing special but a pleasant interaction. Parking: Decent parking in front of the building. Overall: It's cool! It's very old school a little worn inside but whoever's in the kitchen will make up for it with flavor and their good hospitality. This is a great addition to Vallejo and they've been in Vallejo just as many years as I have so we're both newbies to some degree but I'm no newbie when it comes to good food and because my family is from down south and I know what I cook at home I can recognize the real when I taste it. Me and my family stumbled upon this gem while headed back home from Napa. They accommodated us immediately and the service was excellent. Now for the food omg!!! Woke up on an easy Saturday morning and decided on Noonie's for a hearty, savory breakfast. We came in and they were already playing some good smooth music. We put our order in and the staff was warm and welcoming. The food was delicious. Not to take away from the rest of the food but one of my highlights was the hash. It's something about when the simple things are done perfectly. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffle had a good fluff to it and topped with a really tasty butter. The chicken was crisp and juicy and seasoned to go well alongside the waffle. My wife got the pork chops, which came out exactly as she wanted it. She's the type that usually needs hot sauce with her breakfast, but the pork chops were done so well that she didn't feel the need for it. It's been a while since I've ordered from Noonie's so I ordered a meal to go. I really wanted the smothered oxtails with gravy and they delivered! Absolutely tender and so well seasoned. I got the meal with French Fries and hushpuppies and both were delicious. My students really loved the fries! The cornbread was also nice. I wasn't a big fan of the peach cobbler but it was a sweet treat. I just didn't care for the crust/bread. The wait was really reasonable for the afternoon and the service was quick. read more

Decided to give this place a try as I'd been looking for a soul food place to support locally. Tried the fried fish dinner and was blown away by the amount of food that was served as well as the flavor. I chose the Bass and Red Snapper with cabbage and yams for the sides. It's all about them wings baby. Firstly the service is great super friendly and inviting. The ambiance isn't glamorous It's not some romantic spot but what it lacks on that it makes up for in other ways. So I been craving some oxtails which I ordered with greens and mac and cheese as my sides. I got 3 pieces of tails one mega sized and the other two "smedium" but I was please with the portion for the price. If I paid $40 for them we'd have a problem but. 3 pieces for under 30$ In 2025 was we worth it. The oxtails were def a B plus. Seasoned tender, juicy great gravy, I love how they incorporated the pan drippings into making their gravy. Their mac & cheese was gooey cheesy seasoned with garlic powder and onion powder. It just lacked a little little bit of salt in my opinion. The greens collard greens. I mix with a little bit of spinach, onions garlic, bell peppers, turkey necks I want pieces of turkey you get bits of turkey not like those places that you might get one piece of turkey in a serving you got pieces of shredded turkey mixed up in the greens, and the potlicker delicious. We also ordered the chicken and waffles. Wooo them wings when I tell you, those wings were seasoned they were fried they were cooked. They were marinated to perfection. It has to be the best or second best wings I've ever had in the Bay Area. The waffles, the large, the thick it got cinnamon, so nutmeg is like a spice waffle kind of reminds me of French toast waffle or churros. Their potato salad was decent nothing To fancy. Their fired fish. Like their wings were fried floured and almost seasoned perfectly. Unlike the wings that needed. Nothing but to hop in my mouth. The fish needs a little bit of salt. Also ordered the candied yams which were also good not mushy. They give u a big piece of their cornbread. Now I'm a big cornbread fan and I ate all of it almost had to fight bae to leave my cornbread alone. But and for me this is a but and yes yall might let it slide it's cool. That ain't just cornmeal and flour I taste cornmeal and yellow cake mix? So it taste more like a corn cake then the corn bread I'm use to but it's was good really good and that glaze y'all put on top of it. Nice touch!!!! I tried Noonie's place and I want to leave a review first off.The food was amazing! We had the seafood combo large size.It was enough food to feed about four people. The side dishes are so large 3 or 4 people can eat off of the side dishes. The seafood was fried crispy and fresh! The lemonade and desserts sweets are fabulous I had the peach cobbler. We're up here from out of town to gm celebrate my birthday. Hubby started looking for places for us to eat for our first night in town and came across this place. Noonie's owes me nothing. Hubby ordered an oxtail plate with rice and gravy, two sides (Mac n cheese and yams), while I ordered the lunch plate of fried oysters with a side (red beans and rice), shrimp and grits with a catfish filet as a side, as well as peach cobbler. We're also big fans of Kool aid so ordered 2 of the sharkleberry fins. Everything was well seasoned and well packaged. If I had a single complaint, it would be that the the rice was undercooked in both dishes, so still had some crunch to it that neither the red beans or gravy helped with. Otherwise, it was all VERY tasty. One suggestion: include lemon juice as an optional sauce with your seafood. I would've loved some with you oysters and catfish! After calling in asking if a table would be available for my party of 6, we were welcomed with amazing customer service over the phone and we were seated right away. Although it's a small establishment, the service and friendly atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The waitress was so wonderful and kind. When waiting for our food I knew that everything was made fresh, which is how my husband and myself prefer. The Catfish was perfectly fried and seasoned! The potato salad was good, the grits were delicious! I haven't eaten grits since I was 5 years old! They were crunchy and not smooth! The grits here were very smooth flavorful and delicious with the cheese green onions and bacon bits! I never ordered grits before because of my negative memories! Now I know why people love grits!!! I waited for the restaurant to open after having a disappointing order of fried chicken on the 4th of July. Chicken wings with waffles were the most expensive in all of Vallejo but didn't rise to the prices placed on them. Wings though huge still had pin feathers on them and tasted like they might have been frozen. They were served piping hot but I felt they were better cold. The waffles had an interesting spice to them but the texture was off as though they had been under a lid or something because they weren't the crispy ones I'd expect for nearly $23.00!! It may have been because I came toward the end of the day. The place was empty and everyone in the back of the restaurant seemed to be engaged in happy conversations. I want this particular neighborhood restaurant to flourish and succeed but they have too many nearby competitors doing a better job for much less. Still kudos for being brave enough to open on Sonoma Blvd in my hoody hood. PS Music is delightful but I recommend turning volume down just a bit. Maybe consider switching to chicken thighs rather than wings for your waffles and chicken. read more

We ordered from Noonie's on doordash after deciding we needed a lazy day at home. The delivery was quick and the food was still hot when it got to us. We did end up missing one of the entree's we ordered but we were able to reorder it and the 2nd delivery came fast too and the food was again, still hot. All of the food was fresh and well prepared. We got Hush puppies and you can taste that they were made recently and cooked in clean oil. The yams were amazing and the fried chicken tasted like my mama made it. My child and I walked in today to try some food well we both knew that your place is known for the waffles we knew we were getting that with the chicken. We scanned the big QR code to see what else they had on the menu. Sadly the young lady behind the metal counter never acknowledged us the man that came from the kitchen area dint acknowledge us. We left and I'm sure they did. It even notice it. Definitely need better people greeting and paying attention to all kinds of customers not just focused on one kind of clients.
