Top Notch! Had no idea this little hidden gem in Sacramento was even there! My battery died and the guy that jumped my car had new car batteries over $200. After I scoffed at the price, he told me about Valley Battery. After the jump was I was back on the road and I drove right there. I was concerned about it being only 10 minutes to closing and if they would even help me so close to closing. Not only did they help me, they did it with great attitude and excellent customer service. I bought a used battery at an incredibly great price and they installed in in only like 5 minutes! Great prices especially if you have a car like I do which is a Chevy equinox diesel model and requires a more expensive battery that is normally priced $250-260 at most places I got $150 new or I could have got an $85 refurbished one, but decided to go the $150 new route which also has a 1 year warranty. I got the battery and seems to work well. Tony was great. Battery works. A little pricier than my usual place to get reconditioned batteries, though. I usually get my batteries at Battery Bill and they install it and check your alternator for free. And the battery I got here at Valley is $20 more expensive than at Battery Bill. The only reason I went here was it was close to where I work. I should've called and had I known it was $20 more expensive, I'd probably drove the extra 8 miles to Battery Bill. But over-all, Valley will be my 2nd choice for reconditioned batteries. They're just a straight to the point, give-me-what-I-need battery shop, just the way I like it. No fuss. read more

I have bought auto batteries in the past from Valley Battery and was always satisfied with what they sold. This last time I purchased a battery for my 2002 Indian motorcycle. It has a cold start problem which really puts a strain on the battery. The new one I got from them failed, that can happen but I could not find my receipt. I think my nephew and his friend used it for kindling. I hoped they would remember as I had paid cash. At first Andy checked me out but agreed to talk with the owner after they had a chance to test the battery. The owner said he would honor the warranty and give me a new receipt., with instructions to put it somewhere safe. Andy the sales person who waited on me was great, the owner is a good man in my eyes and if you need a battery, these are the people to see. Awesome service, reasonable prices. I bought a batter from here a couple weeks ago. Today I had to get my car jumped and I went straight to the battery shop. I thought for sure they would just test the battery, say it's good, and I would have to figure out how to get to the real problem and how was I gonna pay for it. A nice gentleman named Tony went way beyond testing my battery. He tested my altinator and they were both good. He could have stopped there but he continued on and discovered the connection was curoded and cleaned it out for me. My car is starting right up again. Not only did they give me a great battery at a reasonable price, they let me borrow their tools to install the battery, replaced the J-bolt when it fell down into the engine during installation, gave me great advice for next time I buy a used car, and even sent me home with some complementary headlight cleaning wipes. I went into Valley battery and was treated more rudely than any other place I have shopped. The so called owner,Tony, was the person I talked to. I called last Saturday and was told they have plenty of batteries that matched my car. I went in Monday afternoon and he told me they were out. I told him what the employee told me and he said he was out and began having an attitude. He did say he had new batteries but they were $138. I then told him I would rather buy a new battery from somewhere else, even if it cast me more than him. He told me to leave and said he would never accept my business again. The new employees/owners of this place need to take a page from the original couple who founded the company. The elderly couple who used to own this place took very good care of me. The new folks were ok for a year or so but now they look like they are changing their name to something else. Their refurb battery prices are better than average but lately they do not have what I am looking for in stock and recently gave me the run around with "the shipment is arriving later at 4:30 and they MAY deliver the battery you need". After a couple calls waiting and waiting for the undelivered battery and them seemingly forgetting me each time, I moved on to Battery Bill even though it is about 10 miles farther for me to go. read more

At one time this store was great. When i was in there last it was far from it. I wasn't treated vary well. i did ask about the old manager and some of the old employees. They said they let him go and didn't know what happened. The old guy has been there awhile and is very knowledgable if you can get the big guy to shut up stop being to the other people in there. I asked if they had some certain items that i use to get all the time they said they can't carry certain things anymore. Which sounds really strange to me but. I also asked for a used battery which they where out and had now idea if or when they would get one in. They did offer me another battery that was unlabeled but new with a new price to go along with it. Battery Bill which worked out great for me. I Miss the old crew that was there, Not sure how long that store is going to be around but i looks like its struggling with the people its got. read more
