This was a very clean and the atmosphere was perfect with the music not being too loud.Our burgers were amazing and they had some of the best fries I think I've ever had. Started off the meal with a Rhum Zarza, which was a cocktail well worth the price. For the main course, a burger and two sides were enough to satisfy my girlfriend and myself. We each got a burger. They are amazing smashed burgers with really good sauce. The bartender was extremely knowledgable and could make some really good cocktails. If you like real classic cocktails and that aren't just coloring loaded with sugar this is the place to go. My OB burger is supposed to be spicy but it wasn't even as spicy as black pepper. The fries had the look and texture but severely over salted. Was looking for a good bite to eat and some decent drinks after traveling a ways to celebrate an anniversary. Got in late (9:50pm) not knowing kitchen closes at 10pm yet the entire staff was very welcoming and didn't make us feel like a burden at all (as a server I understand this isn't ideal). The place is tasteful yet simple in appearance and the historic value adds to the appeal. Then there was the food. Absolutely delicious. Had a wisco whiz, french dip, the fried cauliflower, & brussels sprouts. The handhelds were packed with flavor and the brussels were probably the best we've ever had, the topping combo was very well balanced. They use quality ingredients and you can immediately tell. The service was great from start to finish, granted we were the only ones in there, but again they did not make us feel anything else but at home. My cocktails were delightful & the selection of drinks is unique and not your average bar. A server told us about it being an old logging office, then a college house, and has now been Valley Burger for about 2 years. Overall a really cool, last minute find and I wish I was local and could come by more often. Worth every penny. We are only in Eau Claire once a year to deliver sculptures, our favorite restaurant didn't open until 4:00 and we weren't going to be in town that late, so we looked for something local to get lunch before we left. The review we read for Valley Burger Co made us think it was a little dive place with good food. It was nearby so we tried it. The menu was small, but everything we tried was fantastic. My wife and I ordered different burgers and they were both the best hamburgers we've had in years. Not exaggerating. Good beer selection and the specialized cocktails were wonderful.
