Great staff easy going and everything went well, easy to get on the schedule, best cleaning ever.

Let me be VERY clear on this 1 star review. The previous dentist (Dr. McHale pictured) sold his business years back (I was a patient of his for 45 years). The 1 star review is for the new dentist and staff, they inherited a thriving business, and because of their unethical tactics ran it into the ground. Laura the receptionist, tells you what the doctor said, concerning the supposed dental work you need. There is a large turnover in personnel, even with the dentists. There is no continuity at this office. I was told by Laura that "I needed $20,000 dollars in dental work" (i see a dentist regularly twice a year). They wanted to extract 3 crowned teeth that had no signs of stress, and there was no pain or discomfort. They wanted to replace these teeth with implants. I found a new dentist, and after a complete oral exam was told "I needed a deep cleaning". The complete X rays of my mouth showed NO problems with the teeth in question. I would highly recommend staying away from this office, they obviously have a personnel problem and a cash flow problem. read more

I only give it a 1 because the staff there is wonderful. But they are very cosmetic in their approach. Meaning, it's not just fetal car, but a marketing approach to Botox and other unnecessary treatments. read more

If you are elderly and have money, you are a target. His tactic is unethical and will ultimately cost you incredible amounts of monies and worse, your dental health! This is the best dentist I have ever been to! Every single person who works in the office is kind and accommodating from the front desk staff, to hygienists, and especially Dr. Nguyen. They fit me in very quickly and they always check up on you to make sure your'e doing ok during procedures such as fillings. I would recommend Valley Center Dental to all of my friends and family (which I have). read more

I've been a patient of Dr. McHale for about 2 decades now. Never before had I stayed with a dentist for even a fraction of that time. Dr. McHale and his staff are calming, gentle and professional. Always willing to come in to handle emergencies too. My daughter had her braces done there and her teeth are now gorgeous! I drive about 45 minutes just to keep them as our dentist. I used to live only 20 minutes or so, but the extra drive time is worth it. Even though there are several dentists less than a mile from my home. read more

I couldn't wait to get back in and have my teeth cleaned today! Because of Covid it had been a little longer than usual...most people don't look forward to going to the dentist, but we've been going to this clinic since 1988 and it's always great to see everyone and know that it will be a positive experience! They've always bent over backwards to make the office clean and safe and pleasant, and because of the virus they've even created a safe (behind acrylic) waiting area. Everyone was wearing a mask and I felt one hundred percent safe! Desteen always does a great job cleaning my teeth...super gentle, and yet really thorough. Just recently our little grandson had his first visit to the dentist with Desteen and he was pretty scared...by the end of the visit he was smiling and thought it was all great! So now we have three generations going there, and we highly recommend! read more

Dr. McHale and his staff are the best in San Diego County, and likely well beyond that. Attentive and professional care givers. They helped me get my wife back into caring for her teeth, after she had years of Dental Anxiety. Comfortable care from people who actual care for their clients and fellow employees. Dr. McHale has done wonders for both of my children who had terrible teeth alignment issues. The orthodontic plan for both of them was highly effective, and there teeth are beautiful. The entire team is super helpful and considerate, always working to meet my hectic schedules, and super flexible with payment plans. I have been to many dentists, and orthodontists for my own complicated teeth which needed 6 years of expanders and braces. I've been a resident here 21 years and I've been a loyal client at Valley Center Dental for the past 5-6 years for teeth cleanings, check-ups, fillings and basically all my dental needs. Never have I ever missed a single appointment with Dr. McHale and the one time that I call To cancel due to unexpected emergency an hour prior to my appointment I was treated so POORLY over the phone by Tina. Usually Family oriented businesses are kind and understanding of rescheduling appointments-which is what I was planning on doing- Tina was so rude and made me feel horrible for canceling and said that I need to think about the time THEY took to prepare rather than making me feel like they'll take care of me next time. Never the less I just received this letter in the mail..... by the way Tina never called me or left me any voicemail messages and I have NEVER missed an appointment with them..... I just thought they would have had better customer service for a small community family oriented dentist office. Dr Steve McHale and his staff are delightful! Office is very comfortable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Dentist offices/visits are not my favorite places to visit, but they assured me I would leave the office smiling - and that I did. Destine was my dental hygienist and she put me at ease, did a fine job, and educated me in a very supportive and positive way! The fact that this is local to me is a bonus! read more
