How to lose a good customer, here you go. I was in Del Mar meeting a friend and she had lunch today at Salt + Lime. She told me the waiter Omar told her that the girl with the spots in her skin (me) left without paying on May 14th when we were celebrating her birthday and that he was informing her just to let me know that probably they won't let me enter in the restaurant anymore. Well, this is absolutely ridiculous, so NOT true and so insulting. We were celebrating the birthday of that precise friend that told me this and another friend and I told the waiter Alejandro F that we will pay separately for our consumptions and whatever my friend ordered and then whoever was coming to the party later on will pay in whatever way they want. So we clarified we were going to pay separately and then I had to leave early and told Alejandro that my friend will pay for us as we informed to start with. Later that night I asked my friend what was my part and paid her my part. End of story. Now, not only they accuse me but when I talked to the manager over the phone (Omar put me in touch with him) this manager told me he was told and was not accusing me but the group. Well, manager, so your math, I showed the ticket that my friend sent me with the portion we paid and you should train your staff to make sure all the money due is paid at the end of the dinner and not false accusing someone a month later. I have never been so embarrassed in my life and apparently there were $80 missing which is anyways a ridiculous amount considering the many people with have been mentioning this place to and the good word we have put about the music and cozy ambiance. This is not the way to treat customers. No apologies, no maybe is OUR misunderstanding due to OUR bad management and our inabilility to do the math. Please change attitude and processes and stop accusing people of something they haven't done.

First time at Salt + Lime! Luckily, we were able to get seated after about a 10-minute wait. The ambiance was great, and while service was a little slow, it seemed like there was only one server handling the floor, so it was understandable. I will say, the drinks were hitting super delicious all around. We ordered an insane amount of food, but the real stars of the show were the ceviche and the corn in a cup. 1000/10, I'd absolutely come back for those two again.

Cute little corner area in Del Mar off the main road. The service was great. The tacos were delicious - especially the shrimp taco. I loved my strawberry drink with a Tajin treat. We heard this place started as a food truck and they hope to expand into another brick and mortar location. It must be those great tacos! There is limited free parking behind the building as well as two hour street parking. My friend parked at the nearby City Hall for free and walked up. Be sure to bring a jacket as this corner gets very breezy. There are heaters, but we were there for lunch.

We ended up on a Friday night in Del Mar. And decided on this place for dinner due to good Yelp reviews and liked the vibe based on the photos. I was able to get a reservation and we didn't have to wait that long. The hostess was nice and we were given a nice spot. Right away, we like the ambience which is nice and cozy. The food was good and we find the servings to be towards bigger portions. For starters we ordered the Caesar salad. It was huge and the waiter split it for us. That was good and refreshing. We also had the Bone Marrow Quesadilla. They were huge bone marrows sprinkled with rockets greens and quesadillas on the side. We also had an asada taco and quesa birria taco. Which were also good. For drinks I had the cilantro jalapeño which is nothing special. For dessert we had the Kuty's churros which was nothing special. Only thing I didn't like was the credit card processing fee which they pass on the customers. Normal tip rates are now much higher than before. So any additional charges just don't sit right with me. So we try to avoid places like this especially since there's a lot going of good food places out there that don't have extra charges.

salt + lime = slime, you got my heart because that mole was soooo good! I've always wanted to try mole, wasn't too familiar with the dish however they blew me away with the subtle mushroom flavor and ingredients that was in it!!! 10/10 compliments to the chef! My margarita was not as sweet as I expected, it was okay. Bone marrow quesadillas were amazing as well, wish it paired with a sauce! Chicken and mashed potatoes, my cousin enjoyed! Place was busy, we were seated after waiting about 2 minutes. This restaurant definitely opened doors for me to explore and venture into mexican cuisine more. Staff super friendly, definitely coming back for this fire mole!!!

Not sure where to start. Rough cooks on the steak, not sure if it's our fault for getting dishes with steak at a Mexican restaurant. I had the mole which its base was delicious, I asked for a medium steak and got it extremely well. My friends steak was the opposite and nearly raw and chewy. Nobody seemed stoked on their tacos and tostadas. We didn't drink and maybe that would've helped us. Also... the bathroom was like a club the music was so loud and the lighting was strobing (in case you're looking for somewhere to party).

We drive to The Oceanside to LaJolla PCH drive and we love driving by Del Mar coast. We just recently drove and as a Yelper, Yelped this place as reviews are good. I had to investigate. Feeling Mexican foodie so I dove right in. Reserved and after about 10 minutes, we got our seat. This place isn't small, but it isn't big either so reserve during busy times. Bar area exists and seating on counter height chairs near the bar too! All pretty much covered cozy outdoor/indoor type seating. I liked the vibe. I tried the bone marrow quesadilla. The bone marrow, I think 3 pieces, was good. The quesadilla that is separate was good too. The bone marrow being sauced a little would have been better served with a plain toast or tortillas, but I get it and ain't complaining. We also had the tacos. Good as well. Finishing it with churros. Service was decent and prices was decent. The only thing I must say is that they charged us for a salad they split without even asking us if we wanted it split. That's a big shame! And on top of that, this place charges more for credit card usage passing the costs to the customers. So your bill that you thought was decent, is now a little fluffier that you would like it to be. I'm not too happy about that! I feel like places that tack on more after you've enjoyed dining, just blows it when doing this! And this place ain't no different. Is that even legal? So what could have been a pretty decent experience becomes a meh experience. Verdict - hard pass for me. I'd rather go to up front pricing rather than a hidden pricing one. Some may call this petty, and it is maybe. But I'd rather pay for the food with the price I see with no hidden things that crop up after enjoying dining C'mon!

Our group of 6 ordered some appetizers and multiple dishes. The dishes were just ok and were mild in flavor and taste. All of us felt that none of the dishes stood out as very good and there was nothing specific to mention about them. Service was good. Disappointed with the taste and lack of flavor.

Want to give a big shoutout to our server, Jesus! He was kind, clear, quick, and helpful navigating the menu. Everything was delicious and I appreciate having a variety of vegetarian options. Highly recommend the vegetarian asparagus-sweet potato taco. The tortillas were fresh, too. Such a cute, vibe-y patio and good music too. Will be back!

Service was a little lacking. Servers were nice but it was to few of them. 2 young ladies for the entire courtyard. If there were others, I didn't see them. Chicken taco was superb. Fish tacos toppings were fire but the fish itself needed more flavor and it was dry. My beverage was nice and the chips and salsa was good. Overall a good experience

I wanted to try a new place none of us have ever been to before so I went here with my family for my birthday. I had seen the pictures online and thought it looked like a nice inside outside kind of place. I made the right choice. The food was delicious! I totally can't remember the name but I got the nopales avocado toast tostada thing, so good. I could totally eat a whole plate of that for lunch, easy. I also got a quesabirria but asked to hold the cheese. I'm lactose intolerant which sucks but the taco and consommé were both very tasty. I'm bummed I didn't get the name of our server. She was great. Even brought me a churros dessert that didn't get a photo because it didn't last long enough. Haha

Mango Chamoy drink that was heavier on the alcohol!

Perfect for date night! We got Sopes De LA Casa as an appetizer, it came with 2 sopes and was delicious. Won Tostada and Taco Mi - Rey were both coming back for, along with a Mango drink that was heavier on the alcohol! The service was attentive and nice!

My group of motorcycle buddies went on a Wednesday night and we got a table for 7. We all loved the place.

Great spot. Food and service were really good. Prices are good for the area. I had a carne taco, a fish taco and a side of refried beans.

I saw I had already bookmarked it for their highly rated fish and chips, and it was only half a mile away so we decided to walk. It was a beautiful walk along the beach, surfers everywhere reminded me of my college days at UCSD and how big the surfing culture is here. After we passed the train tracks we took a left and had a quarter mile walk straight up the hill! It was definitely a tough little hike for us out of shapers, but it was just enough to get some exercise and work up our appetites and thirst. We put our name down for window seats and stood at the bar while watching the NBA finals. We ordered a couple aperol spritz and were throughly enjoying the vibe and view. Everyone here was super friendly, great customer service and was surprised to see how packed it was late afternoon on a Tuesday. Our server later told us it's like that every night. We had to wait about 15-20 mins for our table but we were fine, then got seated right by the window. The view was amazing, drinks were strong, and some excellent fish and chips and appetizers. The bar even gave a little speech, where the bartender read a poem, apparently a nightly tradition. Cool touch. Great place for families, groups or couples. Recommend!

I tried to explain that my mother does not speak English very well, but instead of handling the situation professionally, Hope accused me of being rude, told us to leave, and threatened to call the police. Her behavior made both my mother and me feel very upset, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. She also stood very close to us and made physical contact by touching me, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. No customer should be treated this way. We came to your business hoping to enjoy ourselves and receive good service, but instead we experienced rude, aggressive, and unacceptable treatment from a manager. I hope senior management will address this situation seriously so that no other customers have to go through the same experience. It definitely felt airy and relaxed, with amazing views of the kids play zone and track. We ordered one drink to share since it's a double shot. I had the Prickley Pear Lychee which was strong. Definitely glad that I opted to share this since one was more than enough! Since it's a double, the cocktail was quite pricey. If you prefer a one shot cocktail, ask them to make you a drink! It'll be much cheaper. I was able to snag a view outside overlooking the track. This is the best view! I almost didn't want to leave but I had to head over to the JBoog concert. I'll definitely make this a must do next time I'm at the fair.

Just be forewarned that most of the drinks on the menu are premixed, but they definitely make them pretty strong. I love that the interior theme changes every year. This time it is a super fun, vibrant tropical theme decked out with flamingos! The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere is super chill making it the perfect spot to escape the fair madness and unwind.

We conveniently came during the padres game and got the padres special - musgrove burger, beer, and fries for $15! It was a great deal and the burger was pretty good! I do think the prices are steep if you don't go during happy hour or when there is a special. Food review: Burger: (4/5) The Patty was tender but felt the overall burger was missing something - sauce or another topping? Elote: (5/5) Delicious and refreshing! I put some on the burger and it was pretty tasty! Truffle fries: (4/5) It was a huuuge portion and super tasty! Chicken wings: (5/5) These were only $1 each, such a good deal! We ordered 12 wings for the 3 of us and it was the perfect amount. Both flavors were yummy and the wings were a good size!

I came in for dinner and ordered something as simple as a "Double Smash Burger." The photo on the menu looked incredible -- thick, juicy patties loaded with the usual toppings like lettuce, onions, and more. What arrived at the table was almost unbelievable: an oversized bun with two paper-thin pieces of meat that resembled beef jerky and a few wilted pickle slices. That was essentially it. The service itself was mediocre at best, but the food was genuinely one of the worst meals I've ever been served. It was so bad that despite being extremely hungry, I couldn't force myself to eat it. I ended up sending it back and leaving hungry. Without question, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had, and I will never return.

I love how the staff does flavor tours, where you get to sample and hear about each flavor before you order. I got a large double scoop of the leather (chocolate chip cookie) and visor (pistachio) and loved how nutty visor was. I would recommend pairing nutty visor with cypress if you're interested in a dark dubai chocolate note. This shop is close to the beach, but there is a paid garage attached to the plaza. If you are willing to walk, there is street parking in the vicinity.
