It took about 15 minutes before our waitress came to take our drink order, and another 15 minutes before our drinks arrived. We were enjoying the music, so we didn't mind waiting at first. We understood that restaurants get busy and were happy to be patient. Our order wasn't anything complicated. We ordered a salad and a sandwich, which made the wait even more surprising. We had tickets to an 8:15 movie, so around 7:30 we started getting concerned that our food still hadn't arrived. Even then, we didn't complain. At 8:00 p.m., we simply flagged down our waitress, explained that we had to leave, and politely asked her to cancel the remainder of our order. She apologized, took my credit card, and said she would take care of it. While we were waiting, we saw at least two other tables cancel their orders and ask for their checks after experiencing similar delays. About an hour and a half after we had been seated, our food finally arrived, even though we had already canceled it. We told the servers we no longer wanted it. By then, another 15 minutes had passed since we had given the waitress our credit card, yet we still hadn't received our check. We finally walked over to the bar to ask what was going on. That's when we learned our waitress had been holding onto our check so she could add the food to it. We explained, again, that we had canceled the order before it was ever served and would not be paying for meals we never received. Instead of understanding why we were frustrated after waiting over 90 minutes, she responded with attitude, which was honestly the most disappointing part of the evening. The manager overheard the conversation, apologized for the delay, but that was the extent of it. No offer to comp our drinks or appetizer, no attempt to make up for the experience, and no acknowledgment that we had spent over an hour and a half at the restaurant and left without the meal we came for. During that entire time, we received one round of drinks and an appetizer. No one offered another round of drinks, or provided any meaningful updates about our food. I understand that restaurants have difficult nights, and if the only issue had been a long wait, I probably wouldn't be writing this review. What made this experience so disappointing was how it was handled. We were patient from the moment we sat down, and simply asked to cancel our order because we had another commitment. After all of that, being met with attitude for refusing to pay for food that arrived only after we had canceled it, and seeing no real effort from the restaurant to make things right left us feeling like our experience simply didn't matter. We were genuinely excited to find a new local restaurant after moving to South Orange. Instead, our first visit was so disappointing that it will also be our last.

To keep it 100% the short rib left much to be desired and was short on short rib, heavy on noodles, and lacked all sort of flavor and personality. To say the least I took a few bites and just could not do it. My husbands shrimp scampi was similar as it as a bit bland as he described it but he was able to doctor it up. We explained this to the waiter and instead of taking it seriously he just nodded and said would you like me to box it or take it away. That was the extent of his care. He was an attentive waiter but his ability to solve an issue related to the quality of the food was despicable. My husband paid the bill, but I won't recommend this place to eat for us in any near future. Especially since they cannot stand behind the quality of their food. This was a disappointment by far especially the nonchalant attitude of the waiter. Give the place a try for yourself, but please do not try that short rib dish! It's not worth the money and a huge disappointment.

We will never order from here again. Took an hour for PICKUP and the food was cold, uncooked and incorrect. My wife sat inside an empty restaurant for 45 minutes, arriving when it was supposed to be done. Even if they had started cooking it when she arrived it shouldn't have taken that long. Unacceptable. One order was an omelette - it came RAW inside. DISGUSTING. One order was an egg white omelette with fresh mozzarella - and it came as a messy slab of egg whites with hard chunks of cold mozzarella on an English muffin. WRONG. One order was an egg white sandwich - again a messy slab of cold egg whites. GROSS. The one order they got right was the s'mores French toast. But it was cold. HOW? Me and my family had dinner from here last night, and I have to tell you it was amazing! I was born in Greece and I can tell you that all the Greek dishes we tried were delicious and very authentic! The owners actually work there and their kids as well and that's how you know you are getting great customer service and great quality! We will be definitely eating here very often and we are so happy we now have a place with delicious Greek food right next to us! So I came here about 6 months ago and wasn't pleased with my service. Decided to give it another chance. Upon walking in I realized that it was under new management, I do have to say they have redeemed themselves as a restaurant. Will be coming here more often from now on. My family grew up in this part of town and we used to avoid valley fresh. The previous owners didn't leave a good taste in our mouths. We stopped in there for lunch and the place has changed tremendously . Decor is so nice. Its an excellent eating experience. Meal was served hot and was well delivered. I'm shocked by some of the poor reviews regarding this place as my experience was a great one. I ordered a few salads and the avocado buffalo wrap. The salads were fresh and the wrap was yummy. The owners are a Greek family and seem very pleasant. They have only owned the restaurant for a few months so I think the poor reviews must be from the prior owner. Total rip off. The philly steak wraps are $9 by them selves, no fries included and 2 wings is $6. Nothing to write home about. The wings were obviously fried prior to us ordering and then just dropped again because they were sooo hard. My 5 year old called them chicken rocks. Smh. Never again. I was told that Vally Fresh has new owners, a Greek family. It is close to my job. I stopped by and ordered their wings and I was more than satisfied.
