I have a hearing aid that was sent out for repair or replacement...that was several weeks ago...I never hear anything from them...they have it now...I made an appointment...had to wait for more that a week...went there today and there was asighn on the door that they were closed until further notice...wasted my time going there like many times before..never a call from them..most unprofessional place that I have to deal with...will I get my hearing aid back this year? read more

This place is awesome!! I won't go into the details but let's just say I had a very bad experience with another audiologist and I came in here hoping they could help. They knew exactly what was going on and they fixed the problem within 15 minutes ! they were professional they knew what they were talking about and If I have any issues there's absolutely no doubt in my mind I will come back here. Such a wonderful adventure, having my first hearing exam. I had noticed Costco had free exams, but this business also offered generous incentives plus a complimentary exam. My insurance probably would have covered costs if I needed the aids, but I was told for my age my needs were minimal. I did not really need aids, though the staff explained what they did and why. No pressure to buy anything. No fear instilled, though interesting to learn the process. My mother told me to go first, since she is 83 and I really wanted her to be tested. Visited this business to learn more about my hearing aid options. My experience was not a good one at all. The front desk staff was lovely. Nice woman. The hearing aid person was just the opposite. He was unkempt, not professional, and blatantly told me he's only here to sale hearing aids period. He asked me several times how much money I want to spend and told me the range for hearing aids is between 4K - 7k. I asked him if he can place hearing aids in my ear so I can hear the difference. He said it doesn't matter and he just needs to know how much money I am willing to spend. He finally agreed to calibrate hearing aids for me to sample in the office, and after 5 minutes removed the hearing aids and opened his office door as if to tell me it's time to leave. What was quite interesting is I asked him where he purchased the hearing aids and he told me Kirkland, Washington. Hmmmm well what is in Kirkland, Washington? Costco! I contacted a friend who had recently purchased hearing aids. He said he purchased his hearing aids from Costco. I scheduled my appointment at Costco. The technician was wonderful. He was professional, patient, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. The hearing aids at Costco cost under 2k! Half the price. The hearing aids purchase also includes free cleaning, 2 year Costco warranty that includes a one time replacement if lost and free repair for damaged hearing aids. I am happy I purchased from Costco! I saved thousands of dollars, received excellent care, and am confident I made the right choice. Also, here's the kicker...it's the same exact hearing aid manufactured under a different name. Go to Costco! You won't regret it. And no, I do not work at or have any association with Costco. I cold called on Monday and was given an appointment on Friday, which was great. Megan Felthoven ran the tests and was very competent. She put me in a sound-proof booth and played sounds through earbuds in my ears. She found that I had a "notch" in my hearing at frequencies where human voice appears, in my left ear only. She was very helpful to me as she said that it appeared I had been exposed to some loud noise as opposed to having natural hearing loss. We talked it over and I left the office with useful information on how I could protect my hearing in the future and that maybe the notch would improve if I take care of myself. I had an enjoyable conversation with Megan about sound and hearing, and she really knows her stuff. She's up on the latest research. And after all that, the hearing test was free! I'll definitely go back next year and get tested again. read more

I walked into the office without an appointment to get a thinner tube for my daughter's hearing aid. I can't believe how nice and accommodating they were. This is a family-owned business with the dad at the helm with the daughter and son playing supporting roles. Don't go anywhere else. So many of these hearing places are chains of big corporations and you get treated like a number. On the other hand, the atmosphere was sooo friendly. We ended up being sold on becoming regular customers. They gave us the tube free and Meegan--who was super bright and kind--told us about how my daughter might qualify for Medicaid or Rehabilitaion reimbursements in the future. I've been a patient of Dr. Solow in Salinas and yesterday visited the Monterey office for new hearing aids. I couldn't be happier. The instruments Megan suggested are light years ahead of my old ones. Everyone I've dealt with at both offices has been patient, reassuring, professional and well-informed. I have a handicapped daughter that has suffered from hearing loss, and we have been visiting Valley Hearing Center for years. The staff there are so friendly and respectful to both my daughter and me that it is actually always a pleasurable experience. Recently the audiologist suggested a new progressive hearing aid for my daughter that her insurance would actually cover. I have to say it has made all of the difference in her daily life. She is actually hearing so much more that it's dramatic. It's just unfortunate that she missed out on so much of life prior. I can't thank this office enough. read more

This place is great for offering these services and the service is amazing, Megan - the doctor is extremely helpful as well as caring, she asked me to text her when I got off work to recheck my ears.
