Stayed here twice this season and don't want this gem found, because it is a perfect spot if boarding at WP. You can walk to every place within the town, easy to get in and out to the slopes, has a hot tub, free breakfast, weed shop in the back, and an owner that is extremely helpful. Thanks to Joe, I will be a long time customer. The price is good for this area and if you don't need a kitchen or have just 2-3 of you, this is a perfect spot. Room has a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. They are oversized hotel rooms that don't seem to feel crammed like others. That is all we needed for our trip. read more

Valley Hi Motel was where I stayed after spending an adventurous day exploring Rocky Mountain National Park on a weekend back in September. Ultimately I would have much preferred to have overnighted in the town of Grand Lake, Colorado...a lot closer to Rocky Mountain, NP. Unfortunately rooms were ultra expensive in that quaint little town, so I "bit the bullet" and drove 35 miles away to stay here in Winter Park. I spent $100 plus tax for a Friday night. I was pleasantly surprised how big the room was. Besides 2 queen sized beds, accommodations included a lounge chair, plenty of closet space and an extended area for the bathroom. The spaciousness of the room was absolutely the best part of the motel! I checked in relatively late evening (8pm) and there were no issues. Parking was free and right in the back of the building. Valley Hi is located in the center of Winter Park with plenty of options for food all over town. There is free continental breakfast and coffee offered in the morning with your stay but the following day I had a long drive and grabbed food on the road. Although I was ideally looking for accommodations within the confines of the western part of Rocky Mountain National Park, Valley Hi Motel was more than a suffice place to put my head down and rest for the evening. If you're exploring in the Winter Park/Fraser area, I'd give the green light to come here. read more

CLEAN! (And I'm fussy about hotels & motels, so this is a solid compliment.) I'd definitely stay here again. Reason for only 4 stars is the building's fault, not the business owner's. It's one of those buildings where you can hear everyone walking around. Room is spacious enough, I think our next door neighbors snuck extra people in theirs, so that probably didn't help with the noise situation. All in all, though, I liked this place. This place was the most accommodating, bang-for-your-buck hotel at which I've ever stayed. I stayed there early January, 2011. The "dorm" bed option that I booked via a hostel website made me think I was getting a shared bedroom. That was not the case. The room was a normal hotel room with a shared bathroom. The twin bed rooms are for those on a budget, yes, but for what I payed, I've stayed in MUCH worse. The place is across the street from two shuttle stops to the ski resort. My flight ended up getting cancelled due to weather, so I stayed another night, no sweat. The owners were more than kind and understanding and even offered me a "day rate" until I figured out the details of my new flight. If you're on a budget and need a great room at a great price in a great location, STAY HERE!!!! read more

We were very comfortable here. The rooms are very clean. You can ride your bike on Fraser Trail to Winter Park Resort. It's a two easy mile ride. We will be staying here when we visit again. read more

We brought our two medium sized dogs and the owners were so accommodating; they put protective sheets on top of the comforters just in case. We can't wait to come back and stay again! read more

This is my go-to hotel in Winter Park! Large, clean rooms. Nice continental breakfast. Super hot, outside hot-tub. Four Seasons? No! But you aren't spending time on the room. You are supposed to be outside and enjoying the mountain town. The room was immaculate - yes, I said it, immaculate. On fact it looked brand new inside! Last minute trip and The wife wanted to stay at a hotel chain because it would be "nicer" but as soon as we got here she was very happy. Motel is right at the start of town, next to the bars and the Ditch. It had a nice back patio, with a clean hot tub and lots of areas to get a pizza delivered and eat with the family. Also they had a nice little breakfast spread - muffins, fruit and milk/oj. The room had a nice "sitting" area that we put our bikes on and they were out of the way and safe. There was a kitchenette room with a door - so you could close the door and be away from everyone. There was free Wi-Fi too. I saw ski lockers too and lots of parking. Perfect quick weekend! Very cool place! The customer service was good, huge rooms, Wi-Fi, and hot water. Also, we had a really comfy king size bed which was clean with fresh sheets. Would definitely stay here again if we were in winter park. read more

I stayed here for one night. The next morning I found several bed bugs on one of the bed. Luckily I was not bitten because these bed bugs are still young and small. I guess they are new here. I then checked under the pillow and found a female bed bug. This is disgusting. If you have to stay in this motel, remember to avoid Room 11. read more

I have to admit, when I first pulled up to the motel I was a bit nervous.. I have never stayed in a "motel" before only large hilton chains so I was a big thrown off when I came into the lobby to a large cat and dog hanging out, but I loved it! The owern was very friendly and readily able to help me with anything I needed and you could just really tell that this was a family that took pride in their business. They had a ton of freebies in the bathroom too which was by the way ENORMOUS! Would definitely stay there again! read more

Stayed April 2012 while skiing at Winter Park. Excellent bang for the buck. Older but clean and well maintained. At one end of the upper hallway is a set of connecting rooms with two queen beds in each, a full bath in each, and a living room plus kitchen in one. Perfect for a traveling family. Would recommend without reservation. Don't let the exterior throw you. read more

Loved this place! Location was great for us and right across street was bus stop for free shuttle. Nice and roomy and clean. The manager even let us borrow a set of goggles to go snowmobiling with so we didn't have to rent! For the price it was a great choice. Highly recommend. Also good because you could walk to anywhere in town for a meal and go hiking! read more

I booked a room on Expedia and had to cancel due to an illness. The cancelation policy was 100% of the room,which is very steep. I talked to the hotel management and was refunded all but Expedia's fee. I just wanted to thank the manager. Now we can afford to re book our trip. If this is how that treat someone who did not stay there, I could only guess the service for the guest is exceptional. read more

I was up for blues weekend and this is the first time I've stayed anywhere other than BVC. I was on my own this year so it didn't make sense to pay for a full condo. The reviews do not lie. The room is perfectly adequate and the owner is very friendly and accomodating. TV was limited on local channels. Only Fox and CW and the internet was spotty but you're not in Winter Park to watch TV or surf! read more

Great motel, nothing fancy, but more than we needed. The 2 queen room was spacious, had a walk-in closet, 2 sinks, bay window, TV, comfortable beds, quiet even though we're on the main road. Friendly owner. Perfect place. We plan to come back this week to ski & stay again. read more

This place is on the side of the highway, but it's way larger inside than it looks from the outside. Very cute, large rooms, cozy atmosphere. The room even had a large fridge and separate coat room. I'd stay again for another weekend trip. read more

This place is older but descent. If you are looking to save money with nothing fancy and just need the basics, this is the place. It was clean and right in the town. Good location. Not terribly friendly staff but certainly not rude either. This is a great alternative to a third the price of a mountain resort. read more

My fiance any I had such a wonderful stay here. This place was very clean and well taken care of. They had put out a delicious breakfast every morning complete with pastries, bagels and a variety of other things. The owners Joe and his wife were extremely friendly and helpful with any questions about places to go and things to do. We stayed there in June of this year and loved how there were things to within walking distance or a short drive. The deck on the back with the large wooden hot tub was a great addition. I highly recommend this place for a nice laid back and welcoming feel. We loved this place so much we are looking to plan another trip there soon to try out the winter. read more
