    Greek Skillet is tasty.
    Kanger H.

This is place is a great diner. I've been here for breakfast and it's really good. Big flavor and big portions. Come here hungry and ready to eat. The diner is Greek-owned and that lovely influence is infused in my of their menu items. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. I enjoyed sitting at the bar seating with my son to watch the servers and kitchen staff. They all work like a well oiled machine.

Gotta try to Greek Skillet :)

This isn't my first visit here at Valley Inn but I just never checked in on Yelp. Breakfast is my favorite meal so I have been there before. My first visit I was somewhat disatified because they took their time bringing out the lukewarm food. But Valley Inn has this awesome Greek Skillet that is made with eggs and beef and feta cheese and it is absolutely delicious. It's easy to chew and very tasty. Also, the baklava is wonderful. I would recommend them more as Greek restaurant than as a breakfast place however. Pleasant experience tonight.

We were acknowledged immediately as we walked in & told we could sit anywhere we liked. We choose a table that had chairs on one side & a couch on the other. I sat on the couch, even though it was very comfortable it was too low to the table. The restaurant decor was simple with couches & beautiful jeweled chandeliers plus traditional music played in the background. Note, plenty of free parking was available as this place is located in a strip mall. I ordered the Beef Kabob Plate that came on a delicious bed of yellow rice. The beef had been marinated in a yummy marinade then perfectly grilled with two dipping sauces. Wow, this was super flavorful. In addition, there was a small salad with a wonderful spice dressing. On the side was warm Pita Bread & some of the best Hummus I've had in a long time. What a memorable meal...I'm looking forward to trying some of their other dishes.

But in the mood for Mediterranean, and deciding on takeout, we gave them a try. I was confused by the online ordering options, so I figured I would just go in, order at the counter, and wait for the food. I was quoted 15 mins. Only one group of four was seated, so I hoped it might be a little quicker. Ended up being closer to 25 mins before it was ready. First, the good. Portions are really large. The hummus and rice both continue to be fantastic. The pita that comes with the dish is fine, including the dipping sauces provided. Like I've done in the past, I had the meat combo. The Chicken kabob and kafta kabob are both really good. Great flavor and cooked perfectly. Also, counter service was friendly for the most part. On the flip side, my beef kabob was really tough again. Looking back at previous reviews, this seems to be a trend. I probably need to either just get the chicken or see if they'll let me sub another chicken for the beef. Speaking of beef, my wife usually gets and loves the beef shawarma. Not so much this time. It was really tough, and she said it tasted kind of burned too. Seems like this just shouldn't happen. Mental note for us...if possible, we should see if we can get them to hold the tomatoes from the salad, since neither of us like tomatoes.

The flavor on everything is elevated and fresh!! We had hummus w/pita, falafel, and fries to start. Amazing falafel! Perfectly crispy outside and pillowy inside. For entrees, I had the lamb gyro which was one of the best I've had. The lamb is perfection and they wrap it in a roti instead of pita which was absolutely the move! The house-made pickled veggies served with it were amazing as well and really balanced the nice waiting of the lamb gyro. My wife got the Caesar salad with chicken Shawarma. That was Incredible as well! Try a side of the Harrissa in the zhug sauces to add a little fresh heat! The restaurant has great ambience with some Moroccan type vibes and a great patio. There is a 20% service charge automatically added to every check which is what it is. But for this level of flavor, it's worth it plus tip!

The babaganush, harrira (soup), and bastille were pretty good, and I would come back and get them aging. The falafel was over fried and dry. The combo platter rice was good, but meat was bland. And I'm so sad the dessert baklava was not that great. Smuttered in chocolate, the nuts and honey classic flavor could not be tasted. They have a few other dishes in curious to come back to try. But... service! Well. Waitress was very friendly, definitely good vibes. But after 1st water, never refilled glasses; and plates stacked up. I had to ask (more than once) to clear then to make space for next one. And restaurant was not busy. So service-wise, but great. Food, since really good, some just meh. I'm 50/50 on coming back.

Decided to go with the appetizer sampler and veggie tagine with couscous. The parking lot is small but convenient. The restaurant is quaint. Plenty of options on the menu and service was excellent. All was just okay. I think there was one item missing from my sampler but I didn't realize this until much later. The veggies were flavorful but I wondered if the corn, peas etc were frozen or from the can. The couscous was just okay. Again, a pleasant enough experience and no serious/major complaints.

Super tiny parking lot that only has a few spots, but plenty of street parking nearby. Inside is clean enough, but definitely doesn't sparkle. You can see the kitchen with the giant gyro rotating on the roaster. They do tons of takeout business. If you want to dine in for dinner, then I suggest arriving around or before 5 because the place fills up fast. Otherwise, be prepared to wait for a table. My co-worker tells me that the best thing to get is the special. So that's what I always get, and I never ever regret it. Special is the way to go. You get a nice variety of meats, garnished with onion and tomato, and a side of rice and flat bread. It comes out sizzling on a hot, shallow wok-like tray. It always comes with chicken breast chunks, shavings of gyro meat, and then whatever else he's made for the day. One on occasion, it was chicken quarters, lamb, and a sort of stewed beef. On another occasion, it was filet mignon, strip steak, and something else I can't recall. Generous portions, as it feeds 2-3 people. Great value. The chef/owner really cares too. One time, we were pressed for time, so we only ate a bit and asked for to-go boxes and a check. He had a very concerned expression on his face and asked if the food was alright. I assured him that it was great, but we needed to go to an appointment. Sometimes there's only 1 person working there (chef/server/cashier/busser). When that happens, don't be shocked if things aren't blazing fast. Be understanding, and support small businesses. This easily qualifies as a hidden gem.
