Great atmosphere good service sales people are very attentive great help good at explaining things

At least one employee in this establishment is shockingly rude. I called this afternoon to see whether they might stock a battery for my 2008 Triumph Bonneville. After making my way through the voicemail, I reached a friendly gentleman in parts. He informed me that "we almost certainly have that battery in stock; let me check," and put me on hold. I waited patiently for about 6-7 minutes, then someone else picked up. The subsequent conversation, which took place about twenty minutes ago, was pretty short, so I'll reproduce it in full: Employee: Who are you holding for? Me: I was speaking with someone in parts; he's looking into availability on a battery for me. Employee: Well, he put you on hold because we got so many people here it's going to be about 45 minutes before he can look up your part. So you can keep holding or you can call back -- it's your choice. Me: Okay, so should I just wait about 45 mins and call back? Employee: [In a snarky/patronizing/"problem employee"/passive aggressive voice] You want to wait on hold for 45 minutes? Me: No... Employee: Well then call back. [Immediately slams receiver down on me.] Now let me just mention a few things. I'm easy-going and, as a local business owner myself, I certainly don't like to badmouth a Northampton retailer, especially during these hard times. And I also understand that a workplace can be frustrating when things are piling up. So I would have been very understanding if the second guy who picked up had said something simple like "Hi, we're really backed up. Can you call back later?" Or anything of a similar tenor. Instead, this person decided it would be more appropriate to present me with what amounted to a false choice, then hit me with a nasty and patronizing tone when I -- unaware that he was just looking for an opportunity to unload his attitude on an unsuspecting customer -- simply sought some clarification as to what he wanted me to do. To recap: I was just looking for a battery. I was going to give them my business. This was utterly uncalled for. Dan Beavis General Manager MOMS Northampton is very racist and they definitely violated my human rights. I went there to purchase parts for a motorcycle. Up on doing so I noticed a 2022 Honda CBR. I inquired about it and was told that I have to speak with Dan. I waited 20 mins. Finally I spoke with Dan and he told me that the motorcycle was around 13 thousand and if I was looking to finance it. I said no I would like to purchase it out right. He said fine no problem. Leave me a deposit of $500 and you can bring the difference back with a check. I did just that. I gave him the $500 cash deposit and went to the nearest bank to pick up the bank check with the difference..got back to valley motor sport with the certified bank check to complete the sale of the motorcycle but was told at that point I can't get it because their machine was down. Ok fine no problem. I'll wait until the following day. Dan said and I quote as long as u purchase the motorcycle u can take it whenever u want but I just can't do it today because the machine is down so come back tomorrow at 9:30am. Now the following day comes. I called before going there and Dan said that he can't sell me the motorcycle because I have a out of state license and I want to register it in mass and that's not going to work. I said ok Dan don't worry about it u have the cash and I'll just pick up my motorcycle. My insurance agent will figure out the whole registering issue because I have dual residency. Ok fine. Got to valley motor sport and Dan decided that he wasn't going to no longer sell me the motorcycle based on the fact that there is too many moving parts he said and that he doesn't know where the motorcycle is going to be housed..well Dan do u want to steal the motorcycle from me. why else would it matter where I keep my motorcycle. And Dan are u saying that the American dollar is not worth anything because I'm confused. You're running a business which is established to serve the community but u deny the sale of the motorcycle which is totally within your rights but why . Why me. The only thing I did was bring you the cash while being black and that to me is sad. It's sad that to this day black people have to fight for their God given right as a human being. My message to valley motor sport is I can't breathe. read more

Absolutely horrible since they were bought by Mom's. 1500.00 freight and prep on a 5249.00 motorcycle.

RE: Honda Lawnmower service I took a Honda lawnmower in for annual service a while back since they are listed Honda Power Equipment dealer. (this is the first time that I've used them for service.) The repair order invoice doesn't detail what they did except that it says that they replaced the spark plug, oil and air filter, for $95. Got home to find that the cables had not been adjusted and the blades had not been sharpened. Thanks. read more

Excellent dealership! I have bought bikes through several dealerships and this was by far my best experience. They worked with me to get a deal that I was comfortable with and did all the legwork for financing and registration. After the deal went through, I was able to just show up on the pick up date, sign some papers and ride my new motorcycle home. The owner Jerry is as nice as can be, and employs a great staff. I will be doing all my motorcycle purchasing from Valley Motorsport from now on. read more

They only had overpriced new bikes and when I inquired about their small used selection the sales man essentially told me I was on my own and didn't even get out of his chair. Also he was very ugly. read more

Took two of my bikes there for their annual service. After talking to one of the very Service Dept. workers named "Jim" about my concerns with one of my bikes, he stated to me "he knew more about my bike.....more then myself or anyone else". I thought "ok", that was odd. When I got home I realized they hadn't even put oil in one of my bikes after servicing it. Their Service Dept. isn't just incompetent, they're dangerous. Won't bring any of my bikes there for service or buy anything from them. Definately not. read more

Real solid place. My father bought a used polaris quad here and it was the most painless process a buy as ive seen in a while. Process only took 20 minutes or so and we were set and ready to head home. They loaded the atv on the trailer for us and everything. They also took a few hundred off the price since the dealership was so far fron our house. Been about 4 months and we are satisfied with the purchase. read more

I have only used this place for parts purchases and not for the purchase of a bike, quad or whatever. About 90% percent of the time, these guys are great and very helpful. Sometimes it seems you get a guy at the counter that just doesn't seem to want o be there but we've all been in those kinds of jobs so I usually take it with a grain of salt. My ATV take a special oil that they sell and I was happy to find out they gave me a discount for buying a whole case. They also are pretty good about parts ordering if they don't have what you want in stock, but sometimes you have to ring their bell to remind them. I brought my bike there for repairs cause the people paying for the bill told me to. They had the bike for 6 weeks kept saying they have not found the problem yet. I told them I'll give them 1 more week to find the problem or I'm coming to get it. The short skinny mechanic got pissed off and said I'll put it back together and you can pick it up now. When I arrived he was still clearly upset with my decision. The fool told me I couldn't find no one who can fix it faster than him. I got a kick out of that one. I told him I'm no licenced mechanic and even I can fix it within 1 week and he laughed saying there's no way I could. He was correct it didn't take me 1 week it took me 6 hours to diagnose and repair the bike. It turned out to be a miner and basic repair. Sad the "mechanic" was clueless on finding the problem. I will never walk into that business again. read more

I went here to purchase a specific pre-owned bike, ready to put money down as soon as I checked it out and made certain it was in good shape. I talked to Jake on the phone and he said to come by and take a test ride, so I drove two hours out there looking forward to buying this bike. What a mistake, wasted four hours driving just to be told by this kid with a chin strap beard, Chris I think, that I could not test ride it as I only had my learners permit with me. I told him I had passed the MRF/MREP rider safety course recently and should have my license any day (it actually was in the mail when I got home). I asked him if I could come back and ride it when I got my license and he tells me their insurance wouldn't cover me until I had two years riding experience. He want's me to buy the bike without testing it, which is not going to happen. Basically he's telling me he doesn't want to make a sale to me. What if I had the license for two years but had never ridden in that time? Basically just rude and more interested in being an ass than making a sale. He then proceeds to start up the bike, as if that will be enough for me to make a purchase, and informs me that the ABS light flashes for the first 15 minutes then goes off, he doesn't know why but just say's that's perfectly normal and that "its a great bike for what it is" Totally not interested in selling me the bike, worst salesmen ever. Chris should be fired. I'm so sorry I wasted my time and even considered for a minute spending my money here. DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE! read more

Talk about rude! I stopped in the other day for a sales call with the company i own and was treated about the worst I have ever been treated on any sales call. I actually can understand that part as no one really likes to be bothered with a sales call. Here's the part that was unbelievable, I asked if I could speak to the office manager, the person I asked was sitting at a desk on the show room floor. As I waited I noticed a really nice bicycle hanging on the wall and I was in the market for one, this was a $2,000 bike! I asked the person that was still sitting at his desk about the bike and lo and behold, he did not even acknowledge I had said anything! I know he heard me because I was standing 2 feet from him. As I waited to see if he would respond, he got up, walked right by me and went to a customer and another one of his associates that were talking and just stood there with them listening to the conversation. Again completely ignoring me! I have never seen anything like this. Ignoring a sales person is rude, but ignoring a potential sale for a $2,000 item is beyond belief. Needless to say I will never buy a bike from them, I'll find another dealer in the area that will at least say "can I help you" read more

I would encourage all riders to avoid this place! They don't deserve the business! I was riding through the area the other day and got a flat tire -picked up a 3" nail in the rear tire. I called someone to get me the name of any nearby motorcycle shops. They found Vally Motorsports of Northampton MA; it was only 2 miles away! ...great! -I thought. I called up the service department; told them I had a flat and I was only a few miles away. I asked if they had a pickup service and to get the flat repaired. Immediately, the attitude started. They don't have a pickup service; I'd have to "check the yellow pages" for a towing service. Yellow pages; seriously? -I knew I forgot to pack something. Told the guy, politely, I didn't have a phone book; so he ratted off a couple of names of towing companies -then told me he didn't have the phone numbers; I should call "411" and find them myself -what an *ss. After this, he then tells me, when I get the bike there, I'll have to leave it for maybe a few days. Even after I explained to him that I was 75+miles from home, his response was, "I guess you should find a ride home. We're too busy; I've got people that have been waiting weeks for service". What an *ss. I can fully appreciate people "in line ahead of me" for service, but seriously, you can't help out a guy stuck on the side of the road with a flat? What a poor attitude! I encourage all bikers to avoid this place!! They clearly don't respect riders in need! read more

I bought a bike there years ago. Someone ran a stop sign and hit me. They helped me by assessing the damage in a very fair way. They were quick at getting back to me with an estimate for the ins co. I have a problem with my 03 Silverwing that I bought from a place in Boston last year. It is under warranty and I am going to trust valley motor sports to be honest with me again when I have it dropped off for repairs tomorrow.When I get a new silverwing next year I'll go back to them. UPDATE: My scooter was ready the same day it was dropped off. I had a problem with the warranty; the dealer I bought the scooter from didn't process the paperwork for the warranty that I paid $700 for. The service department guy from Valley motorsports went out of his way to help me with this problem. My bike runs great again. I am going to go back there to get a new scoot in the spring. read more

Bought a 2013 Ducati Diavel in March of this year as a left over. Absolutely love the bike !! The sales staff were fantastic and made it easy and painless (well maybe not the payment LOL but I did buy a Ducati !! ). Had a problem with the keyless start feature on the bike and the service department was GREAT !! Especially Matt. He worked tirelessly until it was fixed, and even gave me a loaner bike !!! That is what I call FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!! I will definitely buy from them again. read more

Pleasant staff, good service. Their customer service is very good, they are quick to help fix any issues and offer pick up service. They seem to always be understaffed and, at times, it is difficult to find anyone in the showroom that can be of assistance-this is always a challenge at dealers in New England as the seasons are so different. Their facility is old and, frankly, a little grubby, but this is made up for by the friendliness of the staff. I would recommend this dealership to folks looking to buy a bike or ATV/Snowmobile. read more
