One of the best spots in West Jackson. If you're looking for a big restaurant vibes this is not the place. This is for the people who appreciate the culture and want that good authentic crispy fried big chunks of fish. Make sure to prepare for about a 45 minute 2 hour wait but what's the point of coming to the South if you don't have patience

It took all day to get this catfish meal. And it was a frustrating experience at that. I had stopped by the restaurant twice and each time it was a terribly long wait to even order. I couldn't call because even though the restaurant has a phone number displayed the lines stayed tied up or the calls were forwarded to a voicemail. I met customers who also said they had ordered and it was over an hours long wait for their meal. It was a simple fried fish dinner. The wait should not have been an hour. The restaurant is small on the inside. The picture i took was one of the few times the restaurant did not have several people standing at one time. There was little ventilation. Also no AC and the ceiling fan was not on. The air was not moving at all. It was stuffy in there. And the majority of the time customers are wall to wall. Unmasked. I mean shoulder to shoulder. Some air was able to come through the screen door. The two times i stopped by the restaurant the staff did not greet me at all. They cut their eyes towards me and waited for me to speak. There was no "Hello" or "We'll be right with you". While i reviewed the menu they never spoke. I was pretty much ignored by the young woman working behind the front desk and the older man lounging out front who were both employees. I have a feeling they take this very nonchalant lax approach to all of their customers. There was no such thing as customer service here. Finally I recieved my meal. The fish was fried perfectly and seasoned really well. It was good. The fries were also good. However i did not receive any ketchup or hot sauce. Unfortunately I left without checking the bag and realized this too late. There was also no "Thank You for your business" or any type of indication they hoped I would enjoy the meal. No pleasantries. Although the meal was good I won't be returning because I just didn't like the experience. From the long wait, to being ignored when I walked in, to the inside having so many people crowded into such a tight space with no flowing air or ac, and the forwarding of the phone calls, to the lack of appreciation for my business. I like restaurants that act like they want my business. When they cut their eyes at you or refuse to greet you that's a bad message. Eddie's is right up the road and prepares the same fish dishes so I can't understand why they don't show more appreciation to their customers.

I've been going to Valley Street Fish House for 18+ years, I go way back with this place because it was one of the closest places within walking distance to campus (Jackson State University). Basic fried fish shack, that serves catfish filets, whole catfish, pantrout, buffalo, and shrimp. They also do fried green tomatoes and fried okra also. Open late on Fridays and Saturdays, I want to say 'til 12am. The guy that owns the spot will take care of you, even if you come in 10 minutes prior to closing. Good people - thats why I keep going back. They're not knock you out the park good, but they are solid.

He insisted that he move our tables to be one big table. I told him it was okay because I didnt want to bother him, but he insisted, saying he wanted me and my little nephew to be comfortable. He handed us the menus, and we decided to order three different pizzas and the Pretzel Bites for the appetizer. The first pizza was the Three Little Pigs, a delicious combination of Italian sausage, pepperoni, applewood bacon, fresh basil, marinara, and mozzarella. This one was by far my favorite. The bacon and sausage had a spicy flavor, and the mozzarella was thick and gooey. One bite and the cheese would stretch for days. The other two, the Pepperoni and Chicken Alfredo, were right up there, too. I like that the Chicken Alfredo tasted more like a pizza than not. It had all the combinations of a Chicken Alfredo pasta dish, but with the spices and marinara sauces, it was a sweet combination of both, but it was more of a pizza flavor, which I just loved. I can't leave off the Pretzel Bites; I liked that the cheese and mustard were mixed, bringing on a very favorable dip. Now I must tell you this: the pizzas are supposed to be a personal pan--ten inches with six slices. The hostess warned me these pizzas aren't your regular-sized personal pan. He was right. The pizzas are huge, the slices even bigger. It's a deep-dish pizza with layers of meat, cheese, sauces, and veggies. So you can order three like I did, or just order one and keep coming back, trying different pizzas, which is a great idea considering the place is so inviting. One more thing: You can eat inside or outside on the patio or the lawn with the large TV screen. It's a very relaxed place, and they have a band on certain nights. I can tell you for sure that the hostess, the food, and the ambiance make this place what it is, very inviting.

Thai is always a fun treat. I arrived here around 7 PM on a brisk Friday evening in late April 2025. It was about an hour before they closed for the evening, but I had an hour to eat. So I entered the restaurant and it was basically empty. Even on a Friday night, which was odd. And so, I got seated right away and the server was friendly and charming. My experience here at the Siam Thai restaurant took about 45 minutes from ordering, eating, and then paying the bill before leaving. The service here was quite nice and fast. The restaurant itself is fairly large, but small enough to accommodate about 75 people at a time. And so, i had some potstickers for an appetizer and had some spicy fried rice for the main entrée. Both were really good and delicious at the same time. And of course I just had water for the drink since I was preparing to run 26.2 miles the next morning. At least attempting to. I did love the Yum, which was quiet and very much pleasing to me, especially when I wanted to have a quiet dinner before the 26.2 mile attempt. Having Thai in the deep south was quite interesting and very much appreciated because of the fact that you don't see That in the deep south that much. It's good that there is ethnic restaurants out there where you are craving it on any given day. The overall experience here at Siam Thai Thai restaurant in Jackson, Mississippi was good, fun, and yet average at the same time. There's nothing that I will say that could be further from the truth. For me, it was a good dinner here at the Siam Thai Thai restaurant while I was here. Only thing that could have been better was the fact that I could have asked for extra spicy on the spicy fried rice. And that I could have ordered an extra appetizer for to go for the next day. Other than that, it was an enjoyable experience here and hopefully I could be back in the future on future trips. This restaurant has a formidable menu, but it was limited to what most people enjoy in their popular dishes. They have your rice dishes, curries, and appetizers. Drinks are on a separate menu, but Thai food, which has always been like this. Even their pad Thai is very good, but I decide to skip out on that that evening. It look good from seeing the pictures. The price is here are pretty decent and everything looked around $10-$11 for the entrées and about $7 to $8 dollars ish for the appetizers. it'll Go up and down the years in the future, but that's what I saw when I was here. For the most part, though, it was nice to find a Thai restaurant in the heart of Jackson, Mississippi within walking distance to my hotel and definitely would recommend anybody and everybody who wants Thai food to come here and experience authentic Thai cuisine. Siam Thai Thai restaurant is located in the fondren district of Jackson, Mississippi. Its physical address is at 3000 Old Canton Road, suite 105 near the church. They serve authentic Thai cuisine and I very much enjoyed their food on this dinner visit. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have a small parking lot for anyone and everyone who wishes to park here and dine or order take out. I walked there from my hotel, the Homewood Suites by Hilton on N State street, so it was nice to have this Thai restaurant so conveniently located. If you prefer Jackson's public transportation system, consider the routes you'd need to get here with and decide to get here for lunch or dinner. And of course, there's always uber or Lyft at your convenience as well. However you get over here is yours alone. Definitely recommend the spicy fried rice and the dumplings as an appetizer. Anything Thai food is always delicious. Consider coming here if you're in the area for your daily Thai cuisine fix. Not much in the area for authentic Thai cuisine. When you get here, you'll be glad you did. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. Definitely a fan but not the prices! Support local! B

Went here last weekend with friends and had an enjoyable experience! I heard about the $5 Friday…read moremenu online and had to ask for it after we were sat, as it's not given to you upon being sat. Looking at the $5 menu (it ends at 8pm), I can definitely see why it's a crowd favorite. The restaurant was full, the DJ was playing jams, and the menu options were pretty good. From that $5 menu, we got spinach artichoke dip, which was okay (I think it should be started with chips instead of bread??), and wings which were fire. I got the lemon pepper. They were delicious. That menu also has lemon drops, and for $1 extra, you can get it and then array of different flavors, such as mango, peach, passionfruit, strawberry, etc. I got raspberry at the servers recommendation and it was good. For entrées, my friend got the Cajun pasta, and I loved it. I would order that one again. They also got oxtail, which I didn't try. I got the red fish, and let me tell you it was gigantic! I've never had this, so I was really taking a risk. I found that I don't think I love red fish, as it didn't have the flavor profile I was expecting, however, the sauce on it really brought it to the next level. I got some to go. The greens were extremely salty unfortunately, but the cornbread was really good. I know a lot of people talk about the service and sadly, I did feel the same. It did seem that our server was gone for extended periods of time, and we did wait a while to put in another order for the $5 menu. Initially one of our lemon drops didn't come out either, and we had to ask about it. However, I will say that once we were ready to order entrees, the service did seem to get better. Our server communicated that the kitchen was working on getting out food from the 8 o'clock deadline, and that she would come back and take our order in a bit. I appreciated that communication and didn't mind waiting after. I noticed that within 30 minutes, the restaurant really cleared out, so I'm thinking that a lot of people come for that menu and then leave.. which is surprising because it's a really good looking menu and if I lived in town, I would definitely come back to try more. Add to that later, I also noticed that hookah came out and the DJ got more live.. just something to note!

We loved the attention to detail on the decor and layout. The vibe and streaming music was nice and added to the experience. The hubs ordered an assortment of wings and I tried the oxtail pasta. The wings were pretty good. The oxtail pasta took quite a while to come out. The hubs had finished his plate before mine arrived. The new bartender was very kind and gracious when reporting on the delay. Upon arrival, the oxtail itself had a heat (like Jalapeño seed heat) that I wasn't prepared for, but the oxtail meat was falling off the bone and well prepared nonetheless. We didn't order drinks this time around, but will return when we're in the area for drinks, apps, and a vibe! Happy to see this new business in the area, and wishing them all the best.
