It is on a side street just off of a busy road and not far off of Interstate 20 in Pearl, Mississippi. I opted to go with the three piece catfish filets along with french fries and fried okra. I took a seat and while away my time watching the end of a "Happy Days" episode and the start of a "M*A*S*H" episode on MeTV. Eventually my name was called and I Went and got my Styrofoam container of fried goodness. Let me state that there is some pretty amazing food here. The catfish was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of breading. It was only enhanced by some hot sauce and tartar sauce. While the french fries could have used a bit more salt, they were expertly prepared. The fried okra was also well prepared. We need these places in our communities. A place where we can go for great food at a great price point. Thank you to Yelp, we found this small hole in the wall that was packed with cars in front and the side. Heading on the way to Dallas and I didn't want drive through fast food. A little fish shack that you will blink and miss it. Open the wooden door and there are enough table and seats for 20 people, and a tv in the corner. There was a line and once I ordered, my food took about 15 minutes for it to be ready. So call ahead if you could. Many take out orders while I was waiting. Holy Moly: Ummm ummm....you will devour that fish. Fries are like the drive in crinkly kind and basic salad. Prices are so cheap, $5 for a pantrout manager deal includes one large piece of crunchy and hot goodness, fries, salad, and bread. The tartar sauce was a perfect blend of pickle and mayo. Sprinkle hot sauce over the fish, and go for it. Less than $11 for a 4 pc fish combo. Wow! Wish we had this place back home in Dallas. There are always a lot of people there, so it takes patience, but it's worth the wait. You can call in your order but we like to go there and make our order. That's just our preference. The people who work there are friendly, and down to earth. The portions are generous, and the price is worth it when we can go. The food is hot, and I always have some left for the next day, but my husband eats all of his, and wants to help me eat mine the next day! Harvey's also has 3 locations! I found that out one night when the one in Pearl was closed. The one in Brandon is open later! Same good food, same friendly service!
