Place is good but the oldy (with respect) doesn't know how to cut hair... literally im done in less than 3 mins and my hair in not even..

I used to go all the way out to Santa Monica to get my haircut, but will never go back after having my haircut here! Nahid was my stylist, and she was absolutely incredible. She did exactly what I wanted, cut my bangs and layers perfectly, and was really friendly. The service was great, and when I brought my nephews in, she did a fantastic job with them too! I desperately needed a hair cut. I was able to do a walk in. Kelly was extremely professional, friendly and did exactly what I requested. I asked her to cut 3 inches (and said maybe 4 but let's start with 3) and she suggested some long layers. I liked her suggestion and agreed. She checked with me if the length was what I wanted. Finally found my hair stylist in LA! Ana is amazing. She really listens to you and works so hard to get you the style you want. It was getting backed up while I was there because she had spent a long time on my cut and highlight, but she still gave me all the time needed to finish out with just what I wanted, including a "re-highlight" after the first take wasn't quite what I was looking for. That's what I look for in a stylist, someone who will get you to the look you want. And, Ana is defnitely it. She's amazing! read more

I'm writing this to warn people! First of all I would like to say that I have come here before and absolutely loved my haircut from one of the ladies, I forget her name :/ but all the ladies that work at this salon are great women who do a great job. If you decide to go here stay away from a guy named Jordan! I had him as my hairstylist yesterday and it was the worst and one of the most painful experience. Upon arrival I had told him that I wanted my hair layered. The way he cut my hair was very different than I was use to. Then came the blow drying part....he had the blow dryer on super hot and very close to my scalp! I would move forward and look back at him and told him he was hurting me. He said "oh sorry" but then kept doing and doing it over and over! Even the other ladies that worked there told him "Jordan it's too hot for her and all he kept saying "oh it was because of the steam" like wtf! I honestly should have walked out right then and there but it was my first time experiencing this so I really had no clue as to what to do. Finally, he was done. He asked me to stand up to look at my haircut and BAM one side was longer than the other. I told him my concern and all he replied was "oh when your sitting down in a chair it's hard for me too see if it's even thats why I need you to stand up" like wtf! The manager saw my distress, brought me over to her chair and kept apologizing. She said she could fix my hair and cut it the way I want. She said that "Jordan is from a high end salon and he does a different technique that what we do here." Honestly, I think Jordan is a fake hair stylists and has watched how to cut hair on YouTube because he is desperate for a job. No professional hairstylist would ever burn a person's head or cut someone's hair uneven if they hadn't ask them to. Thankfully, the manager Anna did some damage control, if it wasnt for her I probably would have complained to the police. I hope I dont have any long term damage from the blow dryer burning my scalp. I hope this message will help prevent others from having such a painful experience at a hair salon. read more

The hair stylist, Yalda, is genuine and listens to how you want your haircut. Our conversation didn't feel forced and she did offer her professional advice when I asked for it. I'm always in search of a good place to get my hair done. I don't mind splurging within reason. This time around, I just needed a quick trim because my ombré was growing out and my ends were starting to look fried. I saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. I called ahead and they were very accommodating and said I could just walk in. Valleycuts didn't disappoint. I just got a 3 inch trim and was pleased with the result. They don't do ombré or balayage, only straight color or highlights. So if you're looking to do that, try another place. But for a nice, quick trim, I highly recommend Valleycuts. read more

I was very worried as I had virgin hair but they were very helpful using products on my hair that wouldn't damage it so much as it is the first time my hair took any harsh chemicals. Saw Valley Cuts driving down Sepulveda. Was in desperate need of a haircut and usually go to Supercuts. But the botched me up the last two times and I sorta felt rushed to get out of the chair. So I went in to Valley Cuts (just opened 5 mos ago) and the owner Ana greeted me with a smile and proceeded to give me the best haircut I've had in a good while. Even did the shampoo which was included. Ana is the owner who recently went out on her own after working for Supercuts. I never went to her location. Wish i had. However, Valley Cuts is close to where I live and less than Supercuts. So I have a new place to go and glad to support someone in my area is providing a great service. I highly recommend her. And I would suspect in time, this place is gonna get very busy. I would call ahead to book your cut. read more

I used to frequent Floyd's, but their prices are pretty steep for the services we were looking for. Thankfully, we came across ValleyCuts!
